Lukas 22
Die leiers maak planne om Jesus dood te maak
(Ook Matt 26:2,4-5,14-16; Mark 14:1-2,10-11)
1 Dit was amper tyd vir die tFees van die Ongesuurde Brood. Hulle het hierdie fees ook “tPaasfees” genoem. 2 Die tpriesterleiers en die tskrifgeleerdes het planne gemaak om Jesus dood te maak. Dit was geheime planne, want hulle was bang vir die mense. 3 Een van die tdissipels se naam was Judas. Hulle het hom ook Iskariot genoem. Die tSatan het in Judas ingegaan. 4 Toe gaan Judas na die priesterleiers en die toffisiere van die twagte wat by die ttempel gewerk het. Judas het met hulle gepraat oor hoe hy hulle kon help om Jesus te vang. 5 Hulle was bly en hulle het besluit om vir Judas geld te gee.
6 Judas het gesê dit is goed. Toe het hy ’n plan probeer maak en hy het gewag vir die regte tyd om Jesus te tverraai. Hy moes dit doen waar daar nie ook ander mense is nie.Die laaste Paasfees

7 Dit was die eerste dag van die tFees van die Ongesuurde Brood. Daardie dag moes die mense die tpaaslam slag.
8 Toe stuur Jesus vir Petrus en Johannes en Hy sê vir hulle: “Gaan maak vir ons die tPaas-ete gereed sodat ons dit kan eet.”
9 Die twee tdissipels het vir Jesus gevra: “Waar wil U hê moet ons die ete gaan gereedmaak?”
10 Jesus het vir hulle gesê: “Wanneer julle in die stad ingaan, dan sal ’n man na julle toe kom wat water in ’n tkruik dra. Gaan saam met hom in die huis waar hy ingaan. 11 Dan sê julle vir die eienaar van daardie huis: Ons Meneer vra waar die kamer is waar Hy die Paas-ete saam met sy dissipels kan eet.
12 Die eienaar sal vir julle ’n groot kamer op die dak van sy huis wys. Alles wat ons moet hê vir die ete, is daar. Julle moet alles daar gereedmaak vir die Paas-ete.”
13 Die dissipels het gegaan, en dit was alles soos Jesus vir hulle gesê het. Hulle het alles gereedgemaak vir die Paas-ete.Die nagmaal

14 Toe dit die regte tyd was, het Jesus by die tafel gaan sit en die tapostels, die tdissipels, het saam met Hom gaan sit. 15 Jesus het vir hulle gesê: “Ek wou baie graag hierdie tPaas-ete saam met julle eet voordat Ek swaarkry.
16 Ek sê vir julle Ek sal dit nooit weer eet nie totdat almal sal weet dat God Koning is en almal sal weet wat hierdie Paas-ete beteken.”
17 Toe het Jesus ’n beker wyn geneem en Hy het vir God dankie gesê daarvoor. Hy het vir die apostels gesê: “Neem die beker wyn en drink almal daaruit,
18 want Ek sê vir julle, Ek sal nie weer wyn drink nie totdat almal sal weet dat God Koning is.”
19 Jesus het toe brood geneem en Hy het vir God dankie gesê daarvoor. Hy het die brood in stukke gebreek en vir sy apostels gegee. Hy het gesê: “Dit is my liggaam wat Ek vir julle gee. Elke maal wanneer julle die brood breek en eet, dan moet julle aan My dink.”
20 Nadat hulle geëet het, het Jesus ’n beker wyn geneem. Hy het gesê: “Die wyn in hierdie beker is my bloed. My bloed wat vir julle sal vloei, is die bloed van die nuwe tverbond. 21 Maar kyk, die man wat My sal tverraai, eet saam met My by hierdie tafel.
22 Dit is waar dat Ek, die tSeun van die mens, sal sterf soos God besluit het. Maar daardie man wat My verraai, sal baie swaar kry.”
23 Die apostels het vir mekaar gevra wie van hulle so iets sal wil doen.Wie is die belangrikste?

24 Die tapostels het toe met mekaar begin stry oor wie van hulle die belangrikste is. 25 Maar Jesus het vir hulle gesê: “Die konings van die wêreld wil regeer oor hulle mense, en almal wat regeer, hou daarvan dat die mense sê hulle doen baie goeie dinge vir hulle mense. 26 Maar julle moenie so wees nie. As iemand van julle belangrik wil wees, dan moet hy wees soos die jongste van julle, die een wat al die ander moet bedien. As iemand ’n leier wil wees, dan moet hy almal bedien. 27 Want wie is die belangrikste: Die een wat by die tafel sit, of die een wat die mense by die tafel bedien? Natuurlik is dit die een wat by die tafel sit. Maar kyk na My, wat doen Ek? Ek is by julle soos iemand wat die mense by die tafel bedien. 28 Julle het altyd by My gebly toe dit sleg gegaan het met My. 29 Daarom sal Ek vir julle konings maak soos my Vader vir My ’n Koning gemaak het.
30 Dan sal julle saam met My kan eet en drink by my tafel waar Ek Koning is. Julle sal op ttrone sit en julle sal die twaalf tstamme van Israel toordeel.”Petrus sal sê hy ken nie vir Jesus nie

31 Toe sê Jesus vir Petrus: “Simon, Simon, jy moet goed luister, die tSatan wil julle toets en hy wil kyk of julle sal ophou om in My te glo, hy wil julle graag sif soos ’n mens koring sif.
32 Maar Ek het gebid dat jy sal aanhou om in My te glo. En jy, wanneer jy verander het en lewe soos God wil hê, dan moet jy jou broers help.”
33 Petrus het vir Jesus gesê: “Here, ek sal saam met U gaan, ook as U tronk toe moet gaan en moet sterf, dan sal ek saam met U gaan.”
34 Jesus sê toe vir hom: “Petrus, jy sal drie maal sê jy ken nie vir My nie, jy sal dit sê voordat die haan vannag kraai.”Die dissipels sal swaarkry
35 Toe sê Jesus vir die tdissipels: “Kan julle onthou, toe Ek julle na die mense toe gestuur het, het Ek gesê julle moenie ’n beursie of ’n rugsak of sandale saamneem nie? Het julle toe iets nodig gekry?”
Die dissipels het geantwoord: “Nee, niks.”
36 Jesus het vir hulle gesê: “Maar nou is dit anders. As iemand ’n beursie het, dan moet hy dit saamneem. En as hy ’n rugsak het, dan moet hy dit saamneem. As hy nie ’n swaard het nie, dan moet hy sy tbo-kleed verkoop en ’n swaard koop.
37 Want Ek sê vir julle, nou sal waar word wat die tprofeet Jesaja gesê het. Hy het gesê: ‘tDie mense het gedink hy is een van die mense wat ongehoorsaam is aan God.’ Ja, al die dinge wat hulle oor my lewe geskryf het, sal nou gebeur.”
38 Toe sê die dissipels: “Here, kyk ons het twee swaarde.”
Maar Jesus het gesê: “Nee, daaroor sal ons nie weer praat nie.”Jesus in die tuin van Getsemane
(Ook Matt 26:36,39-41; Mark 14:32,35-38; Joh 18:1; 12:27)
39 Jesus het uitgegaan na die Olyf-berg. Hy het dit elke aand gedoen vandat Hy in Jerusalem gekom het. Die tdissipels het saam met Hom gegaan.
40 Toe hulle by die Olyf-berg kom, het Jesus vir die dissipels gesê: “Julle moet bid dat julle sal aanhou om My te volg, ook wanneer julle swaarkry.”
41 Jesus het ’n bietjie verder van die dissipels gaan staan, omtrent so ver soos ’n mens met ’n klip kan gooi. Hy het gekniel en gebid
42 en gesê: “Vader, as U dit wil doen, neem asseblief hierdie swaarkry weg van My, moenie vir My hierdie tbeker gee om te drink nie. Maar U moenie doen wat Ek wil hê nie, U moet doen wat U wil hê.”
43 Toe kom daar ’n tengel uit die hemel. Hy het aan Jesus tverskyn en vir Hom krag gegee. 44 Daarna het Jesus baie bang geword en Hy het baie ernstig gebid. Sy sweet het soos bloeddruppels geword en dit het op die grond gedrup. 45 Toe Jesus klaar gebid het, het Hy opgestaan. Hy het by die dissipels gekom en gesien hulle slaap vas. Hulle was moeg, want hulle was baie bekommerd oor Jesus.
46 Jesus het vir hulle gevra: “Hoekom slaap julle? Staan op en bid dat niks sal gebeur wat julle sal laat sonde doen nie.”Mense vang vir Jesus

47 Jesus was besig om te praat, toe kom daar ’n klomp mense by hulle. Judas, een van die tdissipels, het voor geloop. Hy het nader gekom na Jesus toe om Hom te soen.
48 Jesus vra toe vir hom: “Judas, tverraai jy die tSeun van die mens met ’n soen?”
49 Die dissipels wat rondom Jesus gestaan het, het besef wat gaan gebeur, en hulle het vir Jesus gevra: “Here, moet ons die mense met ons swaarde aanval?”
50 Een van die dissipels het toe met sy swaard na die thoëpriester se tslaaf gekap. Hy het die slaaf se regter-oor afgekap. 51 Maar Jesus het vir die dissipel gesê: “Hou op!” Jesus het aan die slaaf se oor geraak en Hy het die slaaf gesond gemaak. 52 Toe vra Jesus vir almal wat gekom het om Hom te vang, die tpriesterleiers, die toffisiere van die twagte wat by die ttempel werk, en die familieleiers: “Hoekom het julle swaarde en stokke saamgebring? Dink julle Ek wil teen die regering veg?
53 Ek was elke dag saam met julle by die tempel, en julle het My nie gevang nie. Maar nou is dit nag, die tyd wat die vyande van God kies om slegte dinge te doen, en julle kan nou doen wat julle besluit het om te doen.”Petrus sê hy ken nie vir Jesus nie

54 Hulle het toe vir Jesus gevang en hulle het Hom na die huis van die thoëpriester gebring. Petrus het ook saamgegaan, maar hy het nie naby Jesus geloop nie. 55 Die mense wat vir Jesus gevang het, het ’n vuur aangesteek op die toop stuk grond voor die huis, en hulle het daar gaan sit. Petrus het ook by hulle gaan sit.
56 Een van die meisies wat daar werk, het vir Petrus gesien waar hy by die vuur sit. Sy het lank na hom gekyk en gesê: “Hierdie man was ook saam met Jesus.”
57 Maar Petrus het gesê dit is nie waar nie. Hy het gesê: “Mevrou, ek ken Hom nie.”
58 ’n Bietjie later het iemand anders, ’n man wat ook daar werk, vir Petrus gesien en gesê: “Jy is ook een van Jesus se mense.”
Maar Petrus het gesê: “Man, ek is nie.”
59 Ná omtrent ’n uur het ’n ander man ook gesê: “Maar ek is baie seker, hierdie man wás saam met Jesus se mense, want hy kom ook van Galilea.”
60 Maar Petrus het gesê: “Man, ek weet nie van wie jy praat nie.”
En dadelik, terwyl Petrus praat, het die haan gekraai.
61 Toe draai die Here om en Hy kyk na Petrus. Petrus het onthou wat Jesus vir hom gesê het: “Jy sal vandag drie maal sê jy ken My nie. Jy sal dit sê voordat die haan kraai.”
62 Petrus het buitetoe gegaan en hy het hard gehuil.Die wagte spot vir Jesus

63 Die twagte wat vir Jesus gevang het, het Hom gespot en geslaan.
64 Hulle het sy oë toegebind en vir Hom gesê: “Wys vir ons jy is ’n tprofeet en sê vir ons wie het jou geslaan.”
65 Hulle het Hom ook nog op baie ander maniere tbeledig.Die Joodse Raad sê Jesus is skuldig
(Ook Matt 27:1; 26:63-65; Mark 15:1; 14:61-64; Joh 18:19-24)
66 Toe dit dag geword het, het die tJoodse Raad vergadering gehou. Hulle was die Sanhedrin, dit is die familieleiers, die tpriesterleiers en die tskrifgeleerdes. Hulle het vir Jesus voor hulle laat staan.
67 Hulle sê toe vir Jesus: “Sê vir ons reguit of jy tdie Christus is.”
Jesus het vir hulle gesê: “As Ek vir julle reguit sê wie Ek is, dan sal julle My nie glo nie. 68 En as Ek vir julle iets vra, dan sal julle My ook nie antwoord nie.
69 Maar van nou af sal Ek, die tSeun van die mens, sit op die belangrikste plek langs God, God wat sterk is en wat oor almal regeer.”
70 Al die Raadslede het toe vir Jesus gevra: “Maar is jy die Seun van God?”
En Jesus het geantwoord: “Julle sê self Ek is.”
71 Toe sê die lede van die Raad: “Ons het nou genoeg gehoor. Ons het self gehoor wat hy sê.”
Luke 22
Judas Agrees to Hand Jesus Over
1 The Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was near.2 The chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for a way to get rid of Jesus. They were afraid of the people.
3 Then Satan entered Judas, who was called Iscariot. Judas was one of the Twelve.4 He went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard. He talked with them about how he could hand Jesus over to them.5 They were delighted and agreed to give him money.
6 Judas accepted their offer. He watched for the right time to hand Jesus over to them. He wanted to do it when no crowd was around.
The Last Supper
7 Then the day of Unleavened Bread came. That was the time the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.8 Jesus sent Peter and John on ahead. "Go," he told them. "Prepare for us to eat the Passover meal."
9 "Where do you want us to prepare for it?" they asked.
10 Jesus replied, "When you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house he enters.11 Then say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher asks, "Where is the guest room? Where can I eat the Passover meal with my disciples?" '12 He will show you a large upstairs room with furniture in it. Prepare for us to eat there."
13 Peter and John left. They found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover meal.
14 When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles took their places at the table.15 He said to them, "I have really looked forward to eating this Passover meal with you. I wanted to do this before I suffer.16 I tell you, I will not eat the Passover meal again until it is celebrated in God's kingdom."
17 After Jesus took the cup, he gave thanks. He said, "Take this cup and share it among yourselves.18 I tell you, I will not drink wine with you again until God's kingdom comes."
19 Then Jesus took bread. He gave thanks and broke it. He handed it to them and said, "This is my body. It is given for you. Every time you eat it, do it in memory of me."
20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup. He said, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. It is poured out for you.21 But someone here is going to hand me over to my enemies. His hand is with mine on the table.22 The Son of Man will go to his death, just as God has already decided. But how terrible it will be for the one who hands him over!"
23 The apostles began to ask each other about this. They wondered which one of them would do it.
24 They also started to argue. They disagreed about which of them was thought to be the most important person.
25 Jesus said to them, "The kings of the nations hold power over their people. And those who order them around call themselves Protectors.26 But you must not be like that. Instead, the most important among you should be like the youngest. The one who rules should be like the one who serves.
27 "Who is more important? Is it the one at the table, or the one who serves? Isn't it the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.28 You have stood by me during my troubles.29 And I give you a kingdom, just as my Father gave me a kingdom.30 Then you will eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. And you will sit on thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel.
31 "Simon, Simon! Satan has asked to sift you disciples like wheat.32 But I have prayed for you, Simon. I have prayed that your faith will not fail. When you have turned back, help your brothers to be strong."
33 But Simon replied, "Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death."
34 Jesus answered, "I tell you, Peter, you will say three times that you don't know me. And you will do it before the rooster crows today."
35 Then Jesus asked the disciples, "Did you need anything when I sent you without a purse, bag or sandals?"
"Nothing," they answered.
36 He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it. And also take a bag. If you don't have a sword, sell your coat and buy one.37 It is written, 'He was counted among those who had committed crimes.' (Isaiah 53:12) I tell you that what is written about me must come true. Yes, it is already coming true."
38 The disciples said, "See, Lord, here are two swords."
"That is enough," he replied.
Jesus Prays on the Mount of Olives
39 Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives. His disciples followed him.40 When they reached the place, Jesus spoke. "Pray that you won't fall into sin when you are tempted," he said to them.
41 Then he went a short distance away from them. There he got down on his knees and prayed.42 He said, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup of suffering away from me. But do what you want, not what I want."
43 An angel from heaven appeared to Jesus and gave him strength.44 Because he was very sad and troubled, he prayed even harder. His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
45 After that, he got up from prayer and went back to the disciples. He found them sleeping. They were worn out because they were very sad.
46 "Why are you sleeping?" he asked them. "Get up! Pray that you won't fall into sin when you are tempted."
Jesus Is Arrested
47 While Jesus was still speaking, a crowd came up. The man named Judas was leading them. He was one of the Twelve. Judas approached Jesus to kiss him.
48 But Jesus asked him, "Judas, are you handing over the Son of Man with a kiss?"
49 Jesus' followers saw what was going to happen. So they said, "Lord, should we use our swords against them?"50 One of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.
51 But Jesus answered, "Stop this!" And he touched the man's ear and healed him.
52 Then Jesus spoke to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders. They had all come for him. "Am I leading a band of armed men against you?" he asked. "Do you have to come with swords and clubs?53 Every day I was with you in the temple courtyard. And you didn't lay a hand on me. But this is your hour. This is when darkness rules."
Peter Says He Does Not Know Jesus
54 Then the men arrested Jesus and led him away. They took him into the high priest's house. Peter followed from far away.55 They started a fire in the middle of the courtyard. Then they sat down together. Peter sat down with them.
56 A female servant saw him sitting there in the firelight. She looked closely at him. Then she said, "This man was with Jesus."
57 But Peter said he had not been with him. "Woman, I don't know him," he said.
58 A little later someone else saw Peter. "You also are one of them," he said.
"No," Peter replied. "I'm not!"
59 About an hour later, another person spoke up. "This fellow must have been with Jesus," he said. "He is from Galilee."
60 Peter replied, "Man, I don't know what you're talking about!"
Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed.61 The Lord turned and looked right at Peter. Then Peter remembered what the Lord had spoken to him. "The rooster will crow today," Jesus had said. "Before it does, you will say three times that you don't know me."62 Peter went outside. He broke down and sobbed.
The Guards Make Fun of Jesus
63 There were men guarding Jesus. They began laughing at him and beating him.64 They blindfolded him. They said, "Prophesy! Who hit you?"65 They also said many other things to make fun of him.
Jesus Is Brought to Pilate and Herod
66 At dawn the elders of the people met together. These included the chief priests and the teachers of the law. Jesus was led to them.67 "If you are the Christ," they said, "tell us."
Jesus answered, "If I tell you, you will not believe me.68 And if I asked you, you would not answer.69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God."
70 They all asked, "Are you the Son of God then?"
He replied, "You are right in saying that I am."
71 Then they said, "Why do we need any more witnesses? We have heard it from his own lips."
