Lukas 22

1 Es nahte aber das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote, welches Passah genannt wird.2 Und die Hohenpriester und die Schriftgelehrten suchten, wie sie ihn umbrächten, denn sie fürchteten das Volk.3 Aber Satan fuhr in Judas, der Iskariot zubenamt ist, welcher aus der Zahl der Zwölfe war.4 Und er ging hin und besprach sich mit den Hohenpriestern und Hauptleuten, wie er ihn denselben überliefere.5 Und sie waren erfreut und kamen überein, ihm Geld zu geben.6 Und er versprach es und suchte eine Gelegenheit, um ihn denselben zu überliefern ohne Volksauflauf.7 Es kam aber der Tag der ungesäuerten Brote, an welchem das Passah geschlachtet werden mußte.8 Und er sandte Petrus und Johannes und sprach: Gehet hin und bereitet uns das Passah, auf daß wir es essen.9 Sie aber sprachen zu ihm: Wo willst du, daß wir es bereiten?10 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Siehe, wenn ihr in die Stadt kommet, wird euch ein Mensch begegnen, der einen Krug Wasser trägt; folget ihm in das Haus, wo er hineingeht.11 Und ihr sollt zu dem Herrn des Hauses sagen: Der Lehrer sagt dir: Wo ist das Gastzimmer, wo ich mit meinen Jüngern das Passah essen mag?12 Und jener wird euch einen großen, mit Polstern belegten Obersaal zeigen; daselbst bereitet.13 Als sie aber hingingen, fanden sie es, wie er ihnen gesagt hatte; und sie bereiteten das Passah.14 Und als die Stunde gekommen war, legte er sich zu Tische, und die zwölf Apostel mit ihm.15 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Mit Sehnsucht habe ich mich gesehnt, dieses Passah mit euch zu essen, ehe ich leide.16 Denn ich sage euch, daß ich hinfort nicht mehr davon essen werde, bis es erfüllt sein wird im Reiche Gottes.17 Und er nahm einen Kelch, dankte und sprach: Nehmet diesen und teilet ihn unter euch.18 Denn ich sage euch, daß ich nicht von dem Gewächs des Weinstocks trinken werde, bis das Reich Gottes komme.19 Und er nahm Brot, dankte, brach und gab es ihnen und sprach: Dies ist mein Leib, der für euch gegeben wird; dieses tut zu meinem Gedächtnis!20 Desgleichen auch den Kelch nach dem Mahle und sagte: Dieser Kelch ist der neue Bund in meinem Blute, das für euch vergossen wird.21 Doch siehe, die Hand dessen, der mich überliefert, ist mit mir über Tische.22 Und der Sohn des Menschen geht zwar dahin, wie es beschlossen ist; wehe aber jenem Menschen, durch welchen er überliefert wird!23 Und sie fingen an, sich untereinander zu befragen, wer es wohl von ihnen sein möchte, der dies tun werde.24 Es entstand aber auch ein Streit unter ihnen, wer von ihnen für den Größten zu halten sei.25 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Die Könige der Nationen herrschen über dieselben, und die Gewalt über sie üben, werden Wohltäter genannt.26 Ihr aber nicht also; sondern der Größte unter euch sei wie der Jüngste, und der Leiter wie der Dienende.27 Denn wer ist größer, der zu Tische Liegende oder der Dienende? Nicht der zu Tische Liegende? Ich aber bin in eurer Mitte wie der Dienende.28 Ihr aber seid es, die mit mir ausgeharrt haben in meinen Versuchungen;29 und ich verordne euch, gleichwie mein Vater mir verordnet hat, ein Reich,30 auf daß ihr esset und trinket an meinem Tische in meinem Reiche und auf Thronen sitzet, richtend die zwölf Stämme Israels.31 Der Herr aber sprach: Simon, Simon! Siehe, der Satan hat euer begehrt, euch zu sichten wie den Weizen.32 Ich aber habe für dich gebetet, auf daß dein Glaube nicht aufhöre; und du, bist du einst zurückgekehrt, so stärke deine Brüder.33 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Herr, mit dir bin ich bereit, auch ins Gefängnis und in den Tod zu gehen.34 Er aber sprach: Ich sage dir, Petrus, der Hahn wird heute nicht krähen, ehe du dreimal geleugnet hast, daß du mich kennest.35 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Als ich euch ohne Börse und Tasche und Sandalen sandte, mangelte euch wohl etwas? Sie aber sagten: Nichts.36 Er sprach nun zu ihnen: Aber jetzt, wer eine Börse hat, der nehme sie und gleicherweise eine Tasche, und wer keine hat, verkaufe sein Kleid und kaufe ein Schwert;37 denn ich sage euch, daß noch dieses, was geschrieben steht, an mir erfüllt werden muß: "Und er ist unter die Gesetzlosen gerechnet worden"; denn auch das, was mich betrifft, hat eine Vollendung.38 Sie aber sprachen: Herr, siehe, hier sind zwei Schwerter. Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Es ist genug.39 Und er ging hinaus und begab sich der Gewohnheit nach an den Ölberg; es folgten ihm aber auch die Jünger.40 Als er aber an den Ort gekommen war, sprach er zu ihnen: Betet, daß ihr nicht in Versuchung kommet.41 Und er zog sich ungefähr einen Steinwurf weit von ihnen zurück und kniete nieder, betete42 und sprach: Vater, wenn du diesen Kelch von mir wegnehmen willst, doch nicht mein Wille, sondern der deine geschehe!43 Es erschien ihm aber ein Engel vom Himmel, der ihn stärkte.44 Und als er in ringendem Kampfe war, betete er heftiger. Es wurde aber sein Schweiß wie große Blutstropfen, die auf die Erde herabfielen.45 Und er stand auf vom Gebet, kam zu den Jüngern und fand sie eingeschlafen vor Traurigkeit.46 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Was schlafet ihr? Stehet auf und betet, auf daß ihr nicht in Versuchung kommet.47 Während er noch redete, siehe, da kam eine Volksmenge, und der, welcher Judas genannt war, einer der Zwölfe, ging vor ihnen her und nahte Jesu, um ihn zu küssen.48 Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Judas, überlieferst du den Sohn des Menschen mit einem Kuß?49 Als aber die, welche um ihn waren, sahen, was es werden würde, sprachen sie zu ihm : Herr, sollen wir mit dem Schwerte dreinschlagen?50 Und einer aus ihnen schlug den Knecht des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm das rechte Ohr ab.51 Jesus aber antwortete und sprach: Lasset es so weit; und er rührte sein Ohr an und heilte ihn.52 Jesus aber sprach zu den Hohenpriestern und Hauptleuten des Tempels und Ältesten, die wider ihn gekommen waren: Seid ihr ausgezogen wie gegen einen Räuber, mit Schwertern und Stöcken?53 Als ich täglich bei euch im Tempel war, habt ihr die Hände nicht gegen mich ausgestreckt; aber dies ist eure Stunde und die Gewalt der Finsternis.54 Sie ergriffen ihn aber und führten ihn hin und brachten ihn in das Haus des Hohenpriesters. Petrus aber folgte von ferne.55 Als sie aber mitten im Hofe ein Feuer angezündet und sich zusammengesetzt hatten, setzte sich Petrus in ihre Mitte.56 Es sah ihn aber eine gewisse Magd bei dem Feuer sitzen und blickte ihn unverwandt an und sprach: Auch dieser war mit ihm.57 Er aber verleugnete ihn und sagte: Weib, ich kenne ihn nicht.58 Und kurz danach sah ihn ein anderer und sprach: Auch du bist einer von ihnen. Petrus aber sprach: Mensch, ich bin's nicht.59 Und nach Verlauf von etwa einer Stunde behauptete ein anderer und sagte: In Wahrheit, auch dieser war mit ihm, denn er ist auch ein Galiläer.60 Petrus aber sprach: Mensch, ich weiß nicht, was du sagst. Und alsbald, während er noch redete, krähte der Hahn.61 Und der Herr wandte sich um und blickte Petrus an; und Petrus gedachte an das Wort des Herrn, wie er zu ihm sagte: Ehe der Hahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen.62 Und Petrus ging hinaus und weinte bitterlich.63 Und die Männer, die ihn festhielten, verspotteten und schlugen ihn.64 Und als sie ihn verhüllt hatten, fragten sie ihn und sprachen: Weissage, wer ist es, der dich schlug?65 Und vieles andere sagten sie lästernd gegen ihn.66 Und als es Tag wurde, versammelte sich die Ältestenschaft des Volkes, sowohl Hohepriester als Schriftgelehrte, und führten ihn hin in ihr Synedrium und sagten:67 Wenn du der Christus bist, so sage es uns. Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wenn ich es euch sagte, so würdet ihr nicht glauben;68 wenn ich aber fragen würde, so würdet ihr mir nicht antworten, noch mich loslassen .69 Von nun an aber wird der Sohn des Menschen sitzen zur Rechten der Macht Gottes.70 Sie sprachen aber alle: Du bist also der Sohn Gottes? Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Ihr saget, daß ich es bin.71 Sie aber sprachen: Was bedürfen wir noch Zeugnis? Denn wir selbst haben es aus seinem Munde gehört.

Luke 22

Judas’ Decision to Betray Jesus

1 Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread,s which is called the Passover, was approaching.

2 Thet chief priests and the experts in the lawt were trying to find some wayt to executet Jesus,t for they were afraid of the people.s
3 Thent Satans entered Judas, the one called Iscariot, who was one of the twelve.t4 He went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers of the temple guardt how he mightt betray Jesus,t handing him over to them.t5 Theyt were delighteds and arranged to give him money.s

6 Sot Judast agreed and began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesust when no crowd was present.ts

The Passover

7 Then the day for the feastt of Unleavened Bread came, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.s8 Jesust sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passovers for us to eat.”t9 Theyt said to him, “Where do you want us to preparet it?”10 He said to them, “Listen,t when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of waters will meet you.s Follow him into the house that he enters,11 and tell the owner of the house,t ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’12 Then he will show you a large furnished room upstairs. Make preparations there.”

13 Sot they went and found thingst just as he had told them,s and they prepared the Passover.

The Lord’s Supper

14 Nowt when the hour came, Jesust took his place at the tablet and the apostles joinedt him.15 And he said to them, “I have earnestly desiredt to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.16 For I tell you, I will not eat it againt until it is fulfilleds in the kingdom of God.”s17 Thent he took a cup,s and after giving thanks he said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves.18 For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruitt of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”s19 Thent he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my bodys which is given for you.s Do this in remembrance of me.”

20 And in the same way he tookt the cup after they had eaten,t saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenants in my blood.

A Final Discourse

21 “But look, the hand of the one who betrayss me is with me on the table.s22 For the Son of Man is to go just as it has been determined,s but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!”

23 Sot they began to question one another as to which of them it could possibly be who would do this.
24 A dispute also startedt among them over which of them was to be regarded as the greatest.t25 Sot Jesust said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’s26 Not so with you;t instead the one who is greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leadert like the one who serves.s

27 For who is greater, the one who is seated at the table,t or the one who serves? Is it nott the one who is seated at the table? But I am among you as ones who serves.
28 “You are the ones who have remainedt with me in my trials.29 Thust I grants to you a kingdom,t just as my Father granted to me,

30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sitt on thrones judgings the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 “Simon,s Simon, pay attention!t Satan has demanded to have you all,s to sift you like wheat,s32 but I have prayed for you, Simon,s that your faith may not fail.s Whent you have turned back,t strengthens your brothers.”33 But Petert said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”s

34 Jesus replied,t “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crows today until you have denieds three times that you know me.”
35 Thent Jesust said to them, “When I sent you out with no money bag,t or traveler’s bag,t or sandals, you didn’t lacks anything, did you?” They replied,t “Nothing.”36 He said to them, “But now, the one whot has a money bag must take it, and likewise a traveler’s bagt too. And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one.37 For I tell you that this scripture must bes fulfilled in me, ‘And he was counted with the transgressors.’ts For what is written about me is being fulfilled.”t

38 Sot they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.”s Then he told them, “It is enough.”s

On the Mount of Olives

39 Thent Jesust went out and made his way,t as he customarily did, to the Mount of Olives,s and the disciples followed him.40 When he came to the place,s he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”s41 He went away from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed,42 “Father, if you are willing, taket this cups away from me. Yet not my will but yourss be done.”43 Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.44 And in his anguisht he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.]sss45 Whent he got up from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, exhaustedt from grief.

46 Sot he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you will not fall into temptation!”s

Betrayal and Arrest

47 While he was still speaking, suddenly a crowd appeared,t and the man named Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He walked upt to Jesus to kiss him.s48 But Jesus said to him, “Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”s49 Whent those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said, “Lord, shouldt we use our swords?”s50 Thent one of thems struck the high priest’s slave,t cutting off his right ear.51 But Jesus said,t “Enough of this!” And he touched the man’st ear and healeds him.52 Thent Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard,t and the elders who had come out to get him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs like you would against an outlaw?t

53 Day after day when I was with you in the temple courts,t you did not arrest me.t But this is your hour,t and that of the powert of darkness!”

Jesus’ Condemnation and Peter’s Denials

54 Thent they arrestedt Jesus,t led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house.s But Peter was following at a distance.55 When they had made a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them.56 Then a slave girl,t seeing him as he sat in the firelight, stared at him and said, “This man was with him too!”57 But Petert denied it: “Woman,s I don’t knows him!”58 Thent a little later someone elses saw him and said, “You are one of them too.” But Peter said, “Man,t I am not!”59 And after about an hour still another insisted,t “Certainly this man was with him, because he too is a Galilean.”s60 But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” At that moment,t while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.t61 Thent the Lord turned and looked straight at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord,t how he had said to him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”

62 And he went outside and wept bitterly.s
63 Nowt the men who were holding Jesust under guard began to mock him and beat him.64 Theyt blindfolded him and asked him repeatedly,t “Prophesy! Who hit you?”ts

65 They also said many other things against him, revilingt him.
66 When day came, the council of the elders of the people gathered together, both the chief priests and the experts in the law.t Thent they led Jesust away to their councils67 and said, “Ift you are the Christ,ts tell us.” But he said to them, “Ift I tell you, you will nott believe,68 and ift I ask you, you will nott answer.69 But from now onsthe Son of Man will be seated at the right hands of the powers of God.”70 Sot they all said, “Are you the Son of God,s then?” He answeredt them, “You says that I am.”

71 Thent they said, “Why do we need further testimony? We have heard it ourselvess from his own lips!”t
