Luca 22

Trădarea lui Iuda

1 Se apropia Sărbătoarea Azimelor, căreia i se spune și „Paștele“.t2 Conducătorii preoților și cărturarii căutau o modalitate să-L omoare pe Isus, căci se temeau de popor.3 Atunci Satant a intrat în Iuda, numit „Iscarioteanul“, care era din numărul celor doisprezece.4 Acesta s-a dus și a discutat cu conducătorii preoților și cu comandanții gărzii Templului cum să-L dea pe mâna lor.5 Ei s-au bucurat și au stabilit să-i dea bani.6 El a fost de acord și a început să caute un prilej ca să-L dea pe mâna lor, în absența mulțimii.

Masa pascală

7 Apoi a venit ziua Sărbătorii Azimelor, zi în care trebuia să fie jertfit mielul de Paște.

8 Isus i-a trimis pe Petru și pe Ioan înainte și le-a zis:
– Duceți-vă și pregătiți-ne mielul de Paște ca să mâncăm!

9 Ei L-au întrebat:
– Unde vrei să -l pregătim?

10 Isus le-a răspuns:
– Iată, când veți intra în cetate, vă va întâlni un om care duce un vas cu apă.t Urmați-l până la casa în care va intra11 și spuneți-i stăpânului casei astfel: „Învățătorul te întreabă: «Unde este camera de oaspeți în care urmează să mănânc mielul de Paște împreună cu ucenicii Mei?»“12 El vă va arăta sus o cameră mare și aranjată. Acolo să faceți pregătirile!

13 Ei s-au dus și au găsit totul așa cum le spusese Isus; și au pregătit mielul de Paște.

Cina Domnului

14 Când a sosit ceasul, Isus S-a așezat la masă împreună cu apostolii.15 El le-a zis: „Am dorit mult să mănânc împreună cu voi această masă de Paștet, înainte de suferința Mea!16 Căci vă spun că nu voi mai mânca din eat până când nu își va găsi împlinirea în Împărăția lui Dumnezeu!“17 A luat apoi un pahar, a adus mulțumirit și a zis: „Luați-l și împărțiți-l între voi!18 Căci vă spun că, de acum încolo, nu voi mai bea din rodul viței până când va veni Împărăția lui Dumnezeu.“19 Apoi a luat o pâine și, după ce a adus mulțumiri, a frânt-o și le-a dat-o zicând: „Acesta este trupul Meu, care se dă pentru voi; să faceți lucrul acesta în amintirea Mea!“20 În același fel, după ce au mâncat, a luat paharul și a zis: „Acest pahar este Legământul cel Nou în sângele Meu, care se varsă pentru voi.21 Dar iată că mâna trădătorului Meu este cu Mine la masă!22 Căci într-adevăr, Fiul Omului Se duce după cum a fost hotărât, dar vai de omul acela prin care El este trădat!“23 Ei au început să se întrebe unii pe alții cine să fie oare acela dintre ei care urmează să facă lucrul acesta.

Cine este cel mai mare

24 Între ei s-a iscat și o ceartă cu privire la care dintre ei ar trebui să fie considerat cel mai mare.

25 Isus însă le-a zis:
– Regii neamurilor stăpânesc peste ele, iar cei ce au autoritate asupra lor sunt numiți „binefăcători“t.26 Cu voi să nu fie așa! Ci cel mai mare dintre voi să devină ca cel mai mic, iar cel care conduce să fie ca cel care slujește.27 Căci cine este mai mare, cel care stă la masă sau cel care slujește? Oare nu cel care stă la masă? Eu însă sunt între voi ca cel care slujește!28 Voi sunteți cei care ați rămas cu Mine în încercările Mele.29  De aceea și Eu vă ofer o împărăție, așa cum și Tatăl Meu Mi-a oferit-o Mie,30 ca să mâncați și să beți la masa Mea, în Împărăția Mea, și să stați pe tronuri judecând cele douăsprezece seminții ale lui Israel.

Isus prezice lepădarea lui Petru

31 Simon, Simon, iată, Satan a cerut să vă cearnă așa cum se cerne grâul,32 dar Eu m-am rugat pentru tine, ca să nu ți se piardă credința. Iar când te vei întoarce, întărește-i pe frații tăi!

33 Petru I-a răspuns:
– Doamne, sunt gata să merg cu Tine chiar și la închisoare și la moarte!

34 Isus i-a zis:
– Îți spun, Petru, că nu va cânta cocoșult astăzi până când nu te vei lepăda de trei ori că nu Mă cunoști!

Îndemnuri pentru vremea încercării

35 Apoi le-a zis:
– Când v-am trimis fără pungă, fără traistă și fără sandale, ați dus voi lipsă de ceva?
– De nimic! I-au răspuns ei.

36 El le-a mai zis:
– Acum, dimpotrivă, cel ce are o pungă, s-o ia! La fel și traista! Iar cel ce nu are sabie, să-și vândă haina și să-și cumpere una!t37 Căci vă spun că ceea ce este scris trebuie să se împlinească în Mine, și anume: „El a fost numărat alături de cei nelegiuiți.“t Da, ceea ce este scris despre Mine este gata să se împlinească.

38 Ei au zis:
– Doamne, iată aici două săbii!
– De-ajuns!t le-a zis El.

Isus se roagă pe Muntele Măslinilor

39 A ieșit afară și S-a dus, ca de obicei, spre Muntele Măslinilor. Ucenicii L-au urmat și ei.40 Când a ajuns în locul acela, le-a zis: „Rugați-vă să nu cădeți în ispită!“41 Apoi S-a retras de lângă ei, cam la o distanță de o aruncătură de piatră, s-a pus pe genunchi și s-a rugat42 zicând: „Tată, dacă vrei, îndepărtează de la Mine paharult acesta! Totuși facă-se nu voia Mea, ci a Ta!“ 43 (Atunci I s-a arătat un înger din cer, ca să-L întărească.44 Fiind în agonie, El se ruga cu și mai multă ardoare, iar sudoarea Lui devenise ca niște picături de sânge care cădeau pe pământ.)t45 Când S-a ridicat de la rugăciune și a venit la ucenici, i-a găsit adormiți de întristare.46 El le-a zis: „De ce dormiți? Sculați-vă și rugați-vă, ca să nu cădeți în ispită!“

Arestarea lui Isus

47 În timp ce El încă vorbea, iată că au venit o mulțime de oameni , iar cel numit Iuda, unul din cei doisprezece, mergea înaintea lor. El s-a apropiat de Isus ca să-L sărute,48 dar Isus i-a zis: „Iuda, cu un sărut Îl trădezi tu pe Fiul Omului?“

49 Când cei din jurul lui Isus au văzut ce urma să se întâmple, au zis:
– Doamne, să lovim cu sabia?

50 Și unul dintre ei l-a lovit cu sabia pe sclavul marelui preot, tăindu-i urechea dreaptă.

51 Însă Isus a zis:
– Încetați cu aceasta!
Și a atins urechea acelui om și l-a vindecat.52 Apoi Isus le-a zis conducătorilor preoților, comandanților gărzii Templului și bătrânilor, care veniseră împotriva Lui: „Ați ieșit cu săbii și ciomege, ca după un tâlhart?53 Când eram cu voi în fiecare zi în Templu, n-ați pus mâna pe Mine! Însă acesta este ceasul vostru și autoritatea întunericului!“

Lepădarea lui Petru

54 Atunci L-au prins și L-au dus și L-au băgat în casa marelui preot. Petru L-a urmat de la distanță.55 Au aprins un foc în mijlocul curții și au șezut jos. Petru s-a așezat și el printre ei.

56 O slujnică, când l-a văzut șezând lângă foc, s-a uitat țintă la el și a zis:
– Și acesta era cu El!

57 Însă el s-a lepădat zicând:
– Nu-L cunosc, femeie!

58 După puțin timp, l-a văzut altcineva, care a zis:
– Și tu ești dintre ei!
Dar Petru a zis:
– Nu sunt, omule!

59 Cam o oră mai târziu, un altul a susținut cu tărie, zicând:
– Cu siguranță și acesta era cu El, căci este galileean!

60 Dar Petru a zis:
– Omule, nu știu despre ce vorbești!
Și imediat, în timp ce el încă vorbea, a cântat cocoșul.61 Domnul S-a întors și s-a uitat la Petru. Atunci Petru și-a adus aminte de cuvântul pe care i-l spusese Domnul: „Astăzi, înainte de cântatul cocoșului, te vei lepăda de Mine de trei ori!“62 Și a ieșit afară și a plâns cu amar.

Isus, batjocorit de cei din garda Templului

63 Oamenii care-L păzeau pe Isus Îl batjocoreau și-L băteau.64 Ei L-au legat la ochi și-L întrebau zicând: „Profețește, cine este cel ce Te-a lovit?“65 Și rosteau multe alte blasfemii împotriva Lui.

Isus înaintea Sinedriului

66 Când s-a făcut ziuă, sfatul bătrânilor poporuluit, conducătorii preoților și cărturarii s-au adunat împreună și L-au dus pe Isus în sinedriult lor.

67 Ei I-au zis:
– Dacă Tu ești Cristosul, spune-ne!
Isus le-a răspuns:
– Dacă vă voi spune, cu nici un chip nu veți crede,68 iar dacă vă voi întreba, cu nici un chip nu-Mi veți răspunde, (nici nu- Mi veți da drumul)t.69 De acum încolo, Fiul Omului va fi așezat la dreapta puterii lui Dumnezeu.t

70 Toți au întrebat:
– Ești Tu deci Fiul lui Dumnezeu?
El le-a răspuns:
– Chiar voi înșivă spuneți că Eu sunt.

71 Atunci ei au zis:
– Ce nevoie mai avem de mărturie?! Căci noi înșine am auzit -o din gura Lui!

LUKE 22

A Plot To Kill Jesus

(Matthew 26.1-5,14,16; Mark 14.1,2,10,11; John 11.45-53)

1  t The Festival of Thin Bread, also called Passover, was near. 2 The chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses were looking for a way to get rid of Jesus, because they were afraid of what the people might do.

3 Then Satan entered the heart of Judas Iscariot, t who was one of the twelve apostles.
4 Judas went to talk with the chief priests and the officers of the temple police about how he could help them arrest Jesus. 5 They were very pleased and offered to pay Judas some money.

6 He agreed and started looking for a good chance to betray Jesus when the crowds were not around.

Jesus Eats with His Disciples

(Matthew 26.17-25; Mark 14.12-21; John 13.21-30)

8 So Jesus said to Peter and John, “Go and prepare the Passover meal for us to eat.”

9 But they asked, “Where do you want us to prepare it?”
10 Jesus told them, “As you go into the city, you will meet a man carrying a jar of water.t Follow him into the house 11 and say to the owner, ‘Our teacher wants to know where he can eat the Passover meal with his disciples.’

12 The owner will take you upstairs and show you a large room ready for you to use. Prepare the meal there.”

13 Peter and John left. They found everything just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover meal.

The Lord's Supper

(Matthew 26.26-30; Mark 14.22-26; 1 Corinthians 11.23-25)

16 I tell you I will not eat another Passover meal until it is finally eaten in God's kingdom.”
17 Jesus took a cup of wine in his hands and gave thanks to God. Then he told the apostles, “Take this wine and share it with each other.

18 I tell you that I will not drink any more wine until God's kingdom comes.”

19 Jesus took some bread in his hands and gave thanks for it. He broke the bread and handed it to his apostles. Then he said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Eat this as a way of remembering me!”
20  t After the meal he took another cup of wine in his hands. Then he said, “This is my blood. It is poured out for you, and with it God makes his new agreement. 21 t The one who will betray me is here at the table with me!

22 The Son of Man will die in the way that has been decided for him, but it will be terrible for the one who betrays him!”

23 Then the apostles started arguing about who would ever do such a thing.

An Argument about Greatness

25 t So Jesus told them:
Foreign kings order their people around, and powerful rulers call themselves everyone's friends.t 26 t But don't be like them. The most important one of you should be like the least important, and your leader should be like a servant.

27 t Who do people think is the greatest, a person who is served or one who serves? Isn't it the one who is served? But I have been with you as a servant.
28 You have stayed with me in all my troubles. 29 So I will give you the right to rule as kings, just as my Father has given me the right to rule as a king.

30 t You will eat and drink with me in my kingdom, and you will each sit on a throne to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Jesus' Disciples //Will Be Tested

(Matthew 26.31-35; Mark 14.27-31; John 13.36-38)

32 But Simon, I have prayed that your faith will be strong. And when you have come back to me, help the others.”

33 Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to jail and even to die with you.”

34 Jesus replied, “Peter, I tell you that before a rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will say three times that you don't know me.”

Moneybags, Traveling Bags, //and Swords

35  t Jesus asked his disciples, “When I sent you out without a moneybag or a traveling bag or sandals, did you need anything?”
“No!” they answered.
36 Jesus told them, “But now, if you have a moneybag, take it with you. Also take a traveling bag, and if you don't have a sword, t sell some of your clothes and buy one.

37 t Do this because the Scriptures say, ‘He was considered a criminal.’ This was written about me, and it will soon come true.”

38 The disciples said, “Lord, here are two swords!”
“Enough of that!” Jesus replied.

Jesus Prays

(Matthew 26.36-46; Mark 14.32-42)

40 When they got there, he told them, “Pray that you won't be tested.”
41 Jesus walked on a little way before he knelt down and prayed,

42 “Father, if you will, please don't make me suffer by drinking from this cup.t But do what you want, and not what I want.”
43 Then an angel from heaven came to help him.

44 Jesus was in great pain and prayed so sincerely that his sweat fell to the ground like drops of blood.t
45 Jesus got up from praying and went over to his disciples. They were asleep and worn out from being so sad.

46 He said to them, “Why are you asleep? Wake up and pray that you won't be tested.”

Jesus Is Arrested

(Matthew 26.47-56; Mark 14.43-50; John 18.3-11)

47 While Jesus was still speaking, a crowd came up. It was led by Judas, one of the twelve apostles. He went over to Jesus and greeted him with a kiss.t

48 Jesus asked Judas, “Are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49 When Jesus' disciples saw what was about to happen, they asked, “Lord, should we attack them with a sword?”

50 One of the disciples even struck at the high priest's servant with his sword and cut off the servant's right ear.

51 “Enough of that!” Jesus said. Then he touched the servant's ear and healed it.
52 Jesus spoke to the chief priests, the temple police, and the leaders who had come to arrest him. He said, “Why do you come out with swords and clubs and treat me like a criminal?

53 t I was with you every day in the temple, and you didn't arrest me. But this is your time, and darknesst is in control.”

Peter Says //He Doesn't Know Jesus

(Matthew 26.57,58,67-75; Mark 14.53,54,66-72; John 18.12-18,25-27)

56 and a servant girl saw him. Then after she had looked at him carefully, she said, “This man was with Jesus!”

57 Peter said, “Woman, I don't even know that man!”

58 A little later someone else saw Peter and said, “You are one of them!”
“No, I'm not!” Peter replied.

59 About an hour later another man insisted, “This man must have been with Jesus. They both come from Galilee.”

60 Peter replied, “I don't know what you are talking about!” Right then, while Peter was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
61 The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered that the Lord had said, “Before a rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will say three times that you don't know me.”

62 Then Peter went out and cried bitterly.
63 The men who were guarding Jesus made fun of him and beat him. 64 They put a blindfold on him and said, “Tell us who struck you!”

65 They kept on insulting Jesus in many other ways.

Jesus Is Questioned //by the Council

(Matthew 26.59-66; Mark 14.55-64; John 18.19-24)

67 They said, “Tell us! Are you the Messiah?”
Jesus replied, “If I said so, you wouldn't believe me. 68 And if I asked you a question, you wouldn't answer.

69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right side of God All-Powerful.”

70 Then they asked, “Are you the Son of God?”t
Jesus answered, “You say I am!”t
71 They replied, “Why do we need more witnesses? He said it himself!”
