SAN LUCAS 22

El complot para matar a Jesús

(Mt. 26.1-5,14-16; Mr. 14.1-2,10-11; Jn. 11.45-53)

1 Estaba cerca la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, que se llama la pascua.t

2 Y los principales sacerdotes y los escribas buscaban cómo matarle; porque temían al pueblo.
3 Y entró Satanás en Judas, por sobrenombre Iscariote, el cual era uno del número de los doce; 4 y éste fue y habló con los principales sacerdotes, y con los jefes de la guardia, de cómo se lo entregaría. 5 Ellos se alegraron, y convinieron en darle dinero.

6 Y él se comprometió, y buscaba una oportunidad para entregárselo a espaldas del pueblo.

Institución de la Cena del Señor

(Mt. 26.17-29; Mr. 14.12-25; Jn. 13.21-30; 1 Co. 11.23-26)

7 Llegó el día de los panes sin levadura, en el cual era necesario sacrificar el cordero de la pascua. 8 Y Jesús envió a Pedro y a Juan, diciendo: Id, preparadnos la pascua para que la comamos. 9 Ellos le dijeron: ¿Dónde quieres que la preparemos? 10 Él les dijo: He aquí, al entrar en la ciudad os saldrá al encuentro un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; seguidle hasta la casa donde entrare, 11 y decid al padre de familia de esa casa: El Maestro te dice: ¿Dónde está el aposento donde he de comer la pascua con mis discípulos? 12 Entonces él os mostrará un gran aposento alto ya dispuesto; preparad allí.

13 Fueron, pues, y hallaron como les había dicho; y prepararon la pascua.
14 Cuando era la hora, se sentó a la mesa, y con él los apóstoles. 15 Y les dijo: ¡Cuánto he deseado comer con vosotros esta pascua antes que padezca! 16 Porque os digo que no la comeré más, hasta que se cumpla en el reino de Dios. 17 Y habiendo tomado la copa, dio gracias, y dijo: Tomad esto, y repartidlo entre vosotros; 18 porque os digo que no beberé más del fruto de la vid, hasta que el reino de Dios venga. 19 Y tomó el pan y dio gracias, y lo partió y les dio, diciendo: Esto es mi cuerpo, que por vosotros es dado; haced esto en memoria de mí. 20 De igual manera, después que hubo cenado, tomó la copa, diciendo: Esta copa es el nuevo pactot en mi sangre,t que por vosotros se derrama. 21 Mas he aquí, la mano del que me entrega está conmigo en la mesa. 22 A la verdad el Hijo del Hombre va, según lo que está determinado;t pero ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien es entregado!

23 Entonces ellos comenzaron a discutir entre sí, quién de ellos sería el que había de hacer esto.

La grandeza en el servicio

24 Hubo también entre ellos una disputa sobre quién de ellos sería el mayor.t 25 Pero él les dijo: Los reyes de las naciones se enseñorean de ellas, y los que sobre ellas tienen autoridad son llamados bienhechores; 26 mas no así vosotros,t sino sea el mayor entre vosotros como el más joven, y el que dirige, como el que sirve.t

27 Porque, ¿cuál es mayor, el que se sienta a la mesa, o el que sirve? ¿No es el que se sienta a la mesa? Mas yo estoy entre vosotros como el que sirve.t
28 Pero vosotros sois los que habéis permanecido conmigo en mis pruebas. 29 Yo, pues, os asigno un reino, como mi Padre me lo asignó a mí,

30 para que comáis y bebáis a mi mesa en mi reino, y os sentéis en tronos juzgando a las doce tribus de Israel.t

Jesús anuncia la negación de Pedro

(Mt. 26.31-35; Mr. 14.27-31; Jn. 13.36-38)

31 Dijo también el Señor: Simón, Simón, he aquí Satanás os ha pedido para zarandearos como a trigo; 32 pero yo he rogado por ti, que tu fe no falte; y tú, una vez vuelto, confirma a tus hermanos. 33 Él le dijo: Señor, dispuesto estoy a ir contigo no sólo a la cárcel, sino también a la muerte.

34 Y él le dijo: Pedro, te digo que el gallo no cantará hoy antes que tú niegues tres veces que me conoces.

Bolsa, alforja y espada

35 Y a ellos dijo: Cuando os envié sin bolsa, sin alforja, y sin calzado,t ¿os faltó algo? Ellos dijeron: Nada. 36 Y les dijo: Pues ahora, el que tiene bolsa, tómela, y también la alforja; y el que no tiene espada, venda su capa y compre una. 37 Porque os digo que es necesario que se cumpla todavía en mí aquello que está escrito: Y fue contado con los inicuos;t porque lo que está escrito de mí, tiene cumplimiento.

38 Entonces ellos dijeron: Señor, aquí hay dos espadas. Y él les dijo: Basta.

Jesús ora en Getsemaní

(Mt. 26.36-46; Mr. 14.32-42)

39 Y saliendo, se fue, como solía, al monte de los Olivos; y sus discípulos también le siguieron. 40 Cuando llegó a aquel lugar, les dijo: Orad que no entréis en tentación. 41 Y él se apartó de ellos a distancia como de un tiro de piedra; y puesto de rodillas oró, 42 diciendo: Padre, si quieres, pasa de mí esta copa; pero no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya. 43 Y se le apareció un ángel del cielo para fortalecerle. 44 Y estando en agonía, oraba más intensamente; y era su sudor como grandes gotas de sangre que caían hasta la tierra. 45 Cuando se levantó de la oración, y vino a sus discípulos, los halló durmiendo a causa de la tristeza;

46 y les dijo: ¿Por qué dormís? Levantaos, y orad para que no entréis en tentación.

Arresto de Jesús

(Mt. 26.47-56; Mr. 14.43-50; Jn. 18.2-11)

47 Mientras él aún hablaba, se presentó una turba; y el que se llamaba Judas, uno de los doce, iba al frente de ellos; y se acercó hasta Jesús para besarle. 48 Entonces Jesús le dijo: Judas, ¿con un beso entregas al Hijo del Hombre? 49 Viendo los que estaban con él lo que había de acontecer, le dijeron: Señor, ¿heriremos a espada? 50 Y uno de ellos hirió a un siervo del sumo sacerdote, y le cortó la oreja derecha. 51 Entonces respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Basta ya; dejad. Y tocando su oreja, le sanó. 52 Y Jesús dijo a los principales sacerdotes, a los jefes de la guardia del templo y a los ancianos, que habían venido contra él: ¿Como contra un ladrón habéis salido con espadas y palos?

53 Habiendo estado con vosotros cada día en el templo,t no extendisteis las manos contra mí; mas ésta es vuestra hora, y la potestad de las tinieblas.

Pedro niega a Jesús

(Mt. 26.57-58,69-75; Mr. 14.53-54,66-72; Jn. 18.12-18,25-27)

54 Y prendiéndole, le llevaron, y le condujeron a casa del sumo sacerdote. Y Pedro le seguía de lejos. 55 Y habiendo ellos encendido fuego en medio del patio, se sentaron alrededor; y Pedro se sentó también entre ellos. 56 Pero una criada, al verle sentado al fuego, se fijó en él, y dijo: También éste estaba con él. 57 Pero él lo negó, diciendo: Mujer, no lo conozco. 58 Un poco después, viéndole otro, dijo: Tú también eres de ellos. Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no lo soy. 59 Como una hora después, otro afirmaba, diciendo: Verdaderamente también éste estaba con él, porque es galileo. 60 Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no sé lo que dices. Y en seguida, mientras él todavía hablaba, el gallo cantó. 61 Entonces, vuelto el Señor, miró a Pedro; y Pedro se acordó de la palabra del Señor, que le había dicho: Antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces.

62 Y Pedro, saliendo fuera, lloró amargamente.

Jesús escarnecido y azotado

(Mt. 26.67-68; Mr. 14.65)

63 Y los hombres que custodiaban a Jesús se burlaban de él y le golpeaban; 64 y vendándole los ojos, le golpeaban el rostro, y le preguntaban, diciendo: Profetiza, ¿quién es el que te golpeó?

65 Y decían otras muchas cosas injuriándole.

Jesús ante el concilio

(Mt. 26.59-66; Mr. 14.55-64; Jn. 18.19-24)

66 Cuando era de día, se juntaron los ancianos del pueblo, los principales sacerdotes y los escribas, y le trajeron al concilio, diciendo: 67 ¿Eres tú el Cristo? Dínoslo. Y les dijo: Si os lo dijere, no creeréis; 68 y también si os preguntare, no me responderéis, ni me soltaréis. 69 Pero desde ahora el Hijo del Hombre se sentará a la diestra del poder de Dios. 70 Dijeron todos: ¿Luego eres tú el Hijo de Dios? Y él les dijo: Vosotros decís que lo soy. 71 Entonces ellos dijeron: ¿Qué más testimonio necesitamos? porque nosotros mismos lo hemos oído de su boca.

LUKE 22

A Plot To Kill Jesus

(Matthew 26.1-5,14,16; Mark 14.1,2,10,11; John 11.45-53)

1  t The Festival of Thin Bread, also called Passover, was near. 2 The chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses were looking for a way to get rid of Jesus, because they were afraid of what the people might do.

3 Then Satan entered the heart of Judas Iscariot, t who was one of the twelve apostles.
4 Judas went to talk with the chief priests and the officers of the temple police about how he could help them arrest Jesus. 5 They were very pleased and offered to pay Judas some money.

6 He agreed and started looking for a good chance to betray Jesus when the crowds were not around.

Jesus Eats with His Disciples

(Matthew 26.17-25; Mark 14.12-21; John 13.21-30)

7 The day had come for the Festival of Thin Bread, and it was time to kill the Passover lambs.

8 So Jesus said to Peter and John, “Go and prepare the Passover meal for us to eat.”

9 But they asked, “Where do you want us to prepare it?”
10 Jesus told them, “As you go into the city, you will meet a man carrying a jar of water.t Follow him into the house 11 and say to the owner, ‘Our teacher wants to know where he can eat the Passover meal with his disciples.’

12 The owner will take you upstairs and show you a large room ready for you to use. Prepare the meal there.”

13 Peter and John left. They found everything just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover meal.

The Lord's Supper

(Matthew 26.26-30; Mark 14.22-26; 1 Corinthians 11.23-25)

14 When the time came for Jesus and the apostles to eat, 15 he said to them, “I have very much wanted to eat this Passover meal with you before I suffer.

16 I tell you I will not eat another Passover meal until it is finally eaten in God's kingdom.”
17 Jesus took a cup of wine in his hands and gave thanks to God. Then he told the apostles, “Take this wine and share it with each other.

18 I tell you that I will not drink any more wine until God's kingdom comes.”

19 Jesus took some bread in his hands and gave thanks for it. He broke the bread and handed it to his apostles. Then he said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Eat this as a way of remembering me!”
20  t After the meal he took another cup of wine in his hands. Then he said, “This is my blood. It is poured out for you, and with it God makes his new agreement. 21 t The one who will betray me is here at the table with me!

22 The Son of Man will die in the way that has been decided for him, but it will be terrible for the one who betrays him!”

23 Then the apostles started arguing about who would ever do such a thing.

An Argument about Greatness

24  t The apostles got into an argument about which one of them was the greatest.

25 t So Jesus told them:
Foreign kings order their people around, and powerful rulers call themselves everyone's friends.t 26 t But don't be like them. The most important one of you should be like the least important, and your leader should be like a servant.

27 t Who do people think is the greatest, a person who is served or one who serves? Isn't it the one who is served? But I have been with you as a servant.
28 You have stayed with me in all my troubles. 29 So I will give you the right to rule as kings, just as my Father has given me the right to rule as a king.

30 t You will eat and drink with me in my kingdom, and you will each sit on a throne to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Jesus' Disciples //Will Be Tested

(Matthew 26.31-35; Mark 14.27-31; John 13.36-38)

31 Jesus said, “Simon, listen to me! Satan has demanded the right to test each one of you, as a farmer does when he separates wheat from the husks.t

32 But Simon, I have prayed that your faith will be strong. And when you have come back to me, help the others.”

33 Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to jail and even to die with you.”

34 Jesus replied, “Peter, I tell you that before a rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will say three times that you don't know me.”

Moneybags, Traveling Bags, //and Swords

35  t Jesus asked his disciples, “When I sent you out without a moneybag or a traveling bag or sandals, did you need anything?”
“No!” they answered.
36 Jesus told them, “But now, if you have a moneybag, take it with you. Also take a traveling bag, and if you don't have a sword, t sell some of your clothes and buy one.

37 t Do this because the Scriptures say, ‘He was considered a criminal.’ This was written about me, and it will soon come true.”

38 The disciples said, “Lord, here are two swords!”
“Enough of that!” Jesus replied.

Jesus Prays

(Matthew 26.36-46; Mark 14.32-42)

39 Jesus went out to the Mount of Olives, as he often did, and his disciples went with him.

40 When they got there, he told them, “Pray that you won't be tested.”
41 Jesus walked on a little way before he knelt down and prayed,

42 “Father, if you will, please don't make me suffer by drinking from this cup.t But do what you want, and not what I want.”
43 Then an angel from heaven came to help him.

44 Jesus was in great pain and prayed so sincerely that his sweat fell to the ground like drops of blood.t
45 Jesus got up from praying and went over to his disciples. They were asleep and worn out from being so sad.

46 He said to them, “Why are you asleep? Wake up and pray that you won't be tested.”

Jesus Is Arrested

(Matthew 26.47-56; Mark 14.43-50; John 18.3-11)

47 While Jesus was still speaking, a crowd came up. It was led by Judas, one of the twelve apostles. He went over to Jesus and greeted him with a kiss.t

48 Jesus asked Judas, “Are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49 When Jesus' disciples saw what was about to happen, they asked, “Lord, should we attack them with a sword?”

50 One of the disciples even struck at the high priest's servant with his sword and cut off the servant's right ear.

51 “Enough of that!” Jesus said. Then he touched the servant's ear and healed it.
52 Jesus spoke to the chief priests, the temple police, and the leaders who had come to arrest him. He said, “Why do you come out with swords and clubs and treat me like a criminal?

53 t I was with you every day in the temple, and you didn't arrest me. But this is your time, and darknesst is in control.”

Peter Says //He Doesn't Know Jesus

(Matthew 26.57,58,67-75; Mark 14.53,54,66-72; John 18.12-18,25-27)

54 Jesus was arrested and led away to the house of the high priest, while Peter followed at a distance. 55 Some people built a fire in the middle of the courtyard and were sitting around it. Peter sat there with them,

56 and a servant girl saw him. Then after she had looked at him carefully, she said, “This man was with Jesus!”

57 Peter said, “Woman, I don't even know that man!”

58 A little later someone else saw Peter and said, “You are one of them!”
“No, I'm not!” Peter replied.

59 About an hour later another man insisted, “This man must have been with Jesus. They both come from Galilee.”

60 Peter replied, “I don't know what you are talking about!” Right then, while Peter was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
61 The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered that the Lord had said, “Before a rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will say three times that you don't know me.”

62 Then Peter went out and cried bitterly.
63 The men who were guarding Jesus made fun of him and beat him. 64 They put a blindfold on him and said, “Tell us who struck you!”

65 They kept on insulting Jesus in many other ways.

Jesus Is Questioned //by the Council

(Matthew 26.59-66; Mark 14.55-64; John 18.19-24)

66 At daybreak the nation's leaders, the chief priests, and the teachers of the Law of Moses got together and brought Jesus before their council.

67 They said, “Tell us! Are you the Messiah?”
Jesus replied, “If I said so, you wouldn't believe me. 68 And if I asked you a question, you wouldn't answer.

69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right side of God All-Powerful.”

70 Then they asked, “Are you the Son of God?”t
Jesus answered, “You say I am!”t
71 They replied, “Why do we need more witnesses? He said it himself!”
