Lukáš 22

1 Blížili sa sviatky Nekvasených chlebov, ktoré sa nazývajú Veľká noc.2 Veľkňazi a zákonníci hľadali spôsob, ako ho zabiť; báli sa však ľudu.3 Tu vošiel satan do Judáša, ktorý sa volal Iškariotský a bol jedným z Dvanástich;4 i šiel a dohovoril sa s veľkňazmi a veliteľmi stráže, ako im ho vydá.5 Tí sa potešili a dohodli sa, že mu dajú peniaze.6 On súhlasil a hľadal príležitosť vydať im ho, keď s ním nebude zástup.7 Prišiel deň Nekvasených chlebov, keď bolo treba zabiť veľkonočného baránka.8 Poslal Petra a Jána so slovami: „Choďte a pripravte nám veľkonočnú večeru!“9 Oni sa ho opýtali: „Kde ju máme pripraviť?“10 Povedal im: „Len čo vojdete do mesta, stretnete človeka, ktorý bude niesť džbán vody. Choďte za ním do domu, do ktorého vojde,11 a majiteľovi domu povedzte: »Učiteľ ti odkazuje: Kde je miestnosť, v ktorej by som mohol jesť so svojimi učeníkmi veľkonočného baránka?«12 On vám ukáže veľkú prestretú hornú sieň. Tam pripravte.“13 Išli teda a všetko našli tak, ako im povedal. A pripravili veľkonočného baránka.14 Keď prišla hodina, zasadol za stôl a apoštoli s ním.15 Tu im povedal: „Veľmi som túžil jesť s vami tohto veľkonočného baránka skôr, ako budem trpieť.16 Lebo hovorím vám: Už ho nebudem jesť, kým sa nenaplní v Božom kráľovstve.“17 Vzal kalich, vzdával vďaky a povedal: „Vezmite ho a rozdeľte si ho medzi sebou.18 Lebo hovorím vám: Odteraz už nebudem piť z plodu viniča, kým nepríde Božie kráľovstvo.“19 Potom vzal chlieb a vzdával vďaky, lámal ho a dával im, hovoriac: „Toto je moje telo, ktoré sa dáva za vás. Toto robte na moju pamiatku.“20 Podobne po večeri vzal kalich a hovoril: „Tento kalich je nová zmluva v mojej krvi, ktorá sa vylieva za vás.21 A hľa, ruka môjho zradcu je so mnou na stole.22 Syn človeka síce ide, ako je určené, ale beda človeku, ktorý ho zrádza!“23 A oni sa začali jeden druhého vypytovať, kto z nich by to mohol urobiť.24 Vznikol medzi nimi aj spor, kto je z nich asi najväčší.25 Povedal im: „Králi národov panujú nad nimi, a tí, čo majú nad nimi moc, volajú sa dobrodincami.26 Ale vy nie tak! Kto je medzi vami najväčší, nech je ako najmenší a vodca ako služobník.27 Veď kto je väčší? Ten, čo sedí za stolom, či ten, čo obsluhuje? Nie ten, čo sedí za stolom? A ja som medzi vami ako ten, čo obsluhuje.28 Vy ste vytrvali so mnou v mojich skúškach29 a ja vám dám kráľovstvo, ako ho môj Otec dal mne,30 aby ste jedli a pili pri mojom stole v mojom kráľovstve, sedeli na trónoch a súdili dvanásť kmeňov Izraela.31 Šimon, Šimon, hľa, satan si vás vyžiadal, aby vás preosial ako pšenicu.32 Ale ja som prosil za teba, aby neochabla tvoja viera. A ty, až sa raz obrátiš, posilňuj svojich bratov.“33 On mu povedal: „Pane, hotový som ísť s tebou do väzenia i na smrť.“34 Ale Ježiš povedal: „Hovorím ti, Peter, dnes nezaspieva kohút, kým tri razy nezaprieš, že ma poznáš.“35 Potom im povedal: „Chýbalo vám niečo, keď som vás poslal bez mešca, bez kapsy a bez obuvi?“ Oni odpovedali: „Nie.“36 On im povedal: „Ale teraz, kto má mešec, nech si ho vezme, takisto aj kapsu, a kto nemá, nech predá šaty a kúpi si meč.37 Lebo hovorím vám: Musí sa na mne splniť, čo je napísané: »Započítali ho medzi zločincov.« Lebo sa spĺňa o mne všetko.“38 Oni hovorili: „Pane, pozri, tu sú dva meče.“ On im povedal: „Stačí.“39 Potom vyšiel von a ako zvyčajne šiel na Olivovú horu a učeníci išli za ním.40 Keď prišiel na miesto, povedal im: „Modlite sa, aby ste neprišli do pokušenia!“41 Sám sa od nich vzdialil asi toľko, čo by kameňom dohodil, kľakol si a modlil sa:42 „Otče, ak chceš, vezmi odo mňa tento kalich! No nie moja, ale tvoja vôľa nech sa stane!“43 Tu sa mu zjavil anjel z neba a posilňoval ho. A on sa v smrteľnej úzkosti ešte vrúcnejšie modlil,44 pričom mu pot stekal na zem ako kvapky krvi.45 Keď vstal od modlitby a vrátil sa k učeníkom, našiel ich spať od zármutku.46 I povedal im: „Čo spíte? Vstaňte, modlite sa, aby ste neprišli do pokušenia!“47 Kým ešte hovoril, zjavil sa zástup a pred nimi išiel jeden z Dvanástich, ktorý sa volal Judáš. Priblížil sa k Ježišovi, aby ho pobozkal.48 Ježiš mu však povedal: „Judáš, bozkom zrádzaš Syna človeka?“49 Keď tí, čo boli okolo neho, videli, čo sa chystá, povedali: „Pane, máme udrieť mečom?“50 A jeden z nich zasiahol veľkňazovho sluhu a odťal mu pravé ucho.51 Ale Ježiš povedal: „Nechajte to už!“ I dotkol sa mu ucha a uzdravil ho.52 Potom Ježiš povedal veľkňazom, veliteľom chrámovej stráže a starším, čo prišli za ním: „Vyšli ste s mečmi a kyjmi ako na zločinca.53 Keď som bol deň čo deň s vami v chráme, nepoložili ste na mňa ruky. Ale toto je vaša hodina a moc temna.“54 Potom ho zajali, odviedli a zaviedli do veľkňazovho domu. Peter šiel zďaleka za nimi.55 Keď uprostred nádvoria rozložili oheň a posadali si okolo neho, Peter si sadol medzi nich.56 Ako tak sedel pri svetle, všimla si ho ktorási slúžka, zahľadela sa naňho a povedala:57 „Aj tento bol s ním.“ Ale on ho zaprel:58 „Žena, nepoznám ho.“ O chvíľu si ho všimol iný a povedal: „Aj ty si z nich.“ Peter povedal: „Človeče, nie som.“59 A keď prešla asi hodina, ktosi iný tvrdil: „Veru, aj tento bol s ním, veď je aj Galilejčan.“60 Peter povedal: „Človeče, neviem, čo hovoríš.“ A vtom, kým ešte hovoril, zaspieval kohút.61 Vtedy sa Pán obrátil a pozrel sa na Petra a Peter sa rozpamätal na Pánovo slovo, ako mu povedal: „Skôr ako dnes kohút zaspieva, tri razy ma zaprieš.“62 Vyšiel von a horko sa rozplakal.63 Muži, ktorí Ježiša strážili, posmievali sa mu a bili ho.64 Zakryli ho a vypytovali sa ho: „Prorokuj, hádaj, kto ťa udrel!“65 A ešte všelijako ináč sa mu rúhali.66 Keď sa rozodnilo, zišli sa starší ľudu, veľkňazi a zákonníci, predviedli ho pred svoju radu67 a hovorili mu: „Ak si Mesiáš, povedz nám to!“ On im odvetil: „Aj keď vám to poviem, neuveríte,68 a keď sa opýtam, neodpoviete mi.69 Ale odteraz bude Syn človeka sedieť po pravici Božej moci.“70 Tu povedali všetci: „Si teda Boží Syn?“ On im povedal: „Vy sami hovoríte, že som.“71 Oni povedali: „Načo ešte potrebujeme svedectvo? Veď sme to sami počuli z jeho úst!“

LUKE 22

A Plot To Kill Jesus

(Matthew 26.1-5,14,16; Mark 14.1,2,10,11; John 11.45-53)

1  t The Festival of Thin Bread, also called Passover, was near. 2 The chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses were looking for a way to get rid of Jesus, because they were afraid of what the people might do.

3 Then Satan entered the heart of Judas Iscariot, t who was one of the twelve apostles.
4 Judas went to talk with the chief priests and the officers of the temple police about how he could help them arrest Jesus. 5 They were very pleased and offered to pay Judas some money.

6 He agreed and started looking for a good chance to betray Jesus when the crowds were not around.

Jesus Eats with His Disciples

(Matthew 26.17-25; Mark 14.12-21; John 13.21-30)

8 So Jesus said to Peter and John, “Go and prepare the Passover meal for us to eat.”

9 But they asked, “Where do you want us to prepare it?”
10 Jesus told them, “As you go into the city, you will meet a man carrying a jar of water.t Follow him into the house 11 and say to the owner, ‘Our teacher wants to know where he can eat the Passover meal with his disciples.’

12 The owner will take you upstairs and show you a large room ready for you to use. Prepare the meal there.”

13 Peter and John left. They found everything just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover meal.

The Lord's Supper

(Matthew 26.26-30; Mark 14.22-26; 1 Corinthians 11.23-25)

16 I tell you I will not eat another Passover meal until it is finally eaten in God's kingdom.”
17 Jesus took a cup of wine in his hands and gave thanks to God. Then he told the apostles, “Take this wine and share it with each other.

18 I tell you that I will not drink any more wine until God's kingdom comes.”

19 Jesus took some bread in his hands and gave thanks for it. He broke the bread and handed it to his apostles. Then he said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Eat this as a way of remembering me!”
20  t After the meal he took another cup of wine in his hands. Then he said, “This is my blood. It is poured out for you, and with it God makes his new agreement. 21 t The one who will betray me is here at the table with me!

22 The Son of Man will die in the way that has been decided for him, but it will be terrible for the one who betrays him!”

23 Then the apostles started arguing about who would ever do such a thing.

An Argument about Greatness

25 t So Jesus told them:
Foreign kings order their people around, and powerful rulers call themselves everyone's friends.t 26 t But don't be like them. The most important one of you should be like the least important, and your leader should be like a servant.

27 t Who do people think is the greatest, a person who is served or one who serves? Isn't it the one who is served? But I have been with you as a servant.
28 You have stayed with me in all my troubles. 29 So I will give you the right to rule as kings, just as my Father has given me the right to rule as a king.

30 t You will eat and drink with me in my kingdom, and you will each sit on a throne to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Jesus' Disciples //Will Be Tested

(Matthew 26.31-35; Mark 14.27-31; John 13.36-38)

32 But Simon, I have prayed that your faith will be strong. And when you have come back to me, help the others.”

33 Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to jail and even to die with you.”

34 Jesus replied, “Peter, I tell you that before a rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will say three times that you don't know me.”

Moneybags, Traveling Bags, //and Swords

35  t Jesus asked his disciples, “When I sent you out without a moneybag or a traveling bag or sandals, did you need anything?”
“No!” they answered.
36 Jesus told them, “But now, if you have a moneybag, take it with you. Also take a traveling bag, and if you don't have a sword, t sell some of your clothes and buy one.

37 t Do this because the Scriptures say, ‘He was considered a criminal.’ This was written about me, and it will soon come true.”

38 The disciples said, “Lord, here are two swords!”
“Enough of that!” Jesus replied.

Jesus Prays

(Matthew 26.36-46; Mark 14.32-42)

40 When they got there, he told them, “Pray that you won't be tested.”
41 Jesus walked on a little way before he knelt down and prayed,

42 “Father, if you will, please don't make me suffer by drinking from this cup.t But do what you want, and not what I want.”
43 Then an angel from heaven came to help him.

44 Jesus was in great pain and prayed so sincerely that his sweat fell to the ground like drops of blood.t
45 Jesus got up from praying and went over to his disciples. They were asleep and worn out from being so sad.

46 He said to them, “Why are you asleep? Wake up and pray that you won't be tested.”

Jesus Is Arrested

(Matthew 26.47-56; Mark 14.43-50; John 18.3-11)

47 While Jesus was still speaking, a crowd came up. It was led by Judas, one of the twelve apostles. He went over to Jesus and greeted him with a kiss.t

48 Jesus asked Judas, “Are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49 When Jesus' disciples saw what was about to happen, they asked, “Lord, should we attack them with a sword?”

50 One of the disciples even struck at the high priest's servant with his sword and cut off the servant's right ear.

51 “Enough of that!” Jesus said. Then he touched the servant's ear and healed it.
52 Jesus spoke to the chief priests, the temple police, and the leaders who had come to arrest him. He said, “Why do you come out with swords and clubs and treat me like a criminal?

53 t I was with you every day in the temple, and you didn't arrest me. But this is your time, and darknesst is in control.”

Peter Says //He Doesn't Know Jesus

(Matthew 26.57,58,67-75; Mark 14.53,54,66-72; John 18.12-18,25-27)

56 and a servant girl saw him. Then after she had looked at him carefully, she said, “This man was with Jesus!”

57 Peter said, “Woman, I don't even know that man!”

58 A little later someone else saw Peter and said, “You are one of them!”
“No, I'm not!” Peter replied.

59 About an hour later another man insisted, “This man must have been with Jesus. They both come from Galilee.”

60 Peter replied, “I don't know what you are talking about!” Right then, while Peter was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
61 The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered that the Lord had said, “Before a rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will say three times that you don't know me.”

62 Then Peter went out and cried bitterly.
63 The men who were guarding Jesus made fun of him and beat him. 64 They put a blindfold on him and said, “Tell us who struck you!”

65 They kept on insulting Jesus in many other ways.

Jesus Is Questioned //by the Council

(Matthew 26.59-66; Mark 14.55-64; John 18.19-24)

67 They said, “Tell us! Are you the Messiah?”
Jesus replied, “If I said so, you wouldn't believe me. 68 And if I asked you a question, you wouldn't answer.

69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right side of God All-Powerful.”

70 Then they asked, “Are you the Son of God?”t
Jesus answered, “You say I am!”t
71 They replied, “Why do we need more witnesses? He said it himself!”
