Лука 22

1 Наближало ся ж сьвято опрісноків, зване пасха.2 І шукали архиєреї та письменники, як би погубити Його; боялись бо народу.3 Ввійшов же сатана в Юду, на прізвище Іскариоцького, що був з числа дванайцяти.4 І пійшовши говорив з архиєреями та воєводами, як Його зрадити їм.5 І зрадїли вони, й вмовились йому срібла дати.6 І обіцяв ся, і шукав нагоди, щоб видати Його їм потай народу.7 Прийшов же день опрісноків, як треба було колоти пасхове ягня.8 І післав Петра та Йоана, глаголючи: Йдїть та приготовте нам пасху їсти.9 Вони ж сказали Йому: Де хочеш, щоб приготовити?10 Він же рече їм: Ось, як увійдете в город, зустріне вас чоловік, глек води несучи. Йдїть слїдом за ним у господу, куди ввійде.11 І скажіть господареві дому: Каже тобі учитель: Де сьвітлиця, щоб пасху з учениками моїми їсти?12 І той вам покаже гірницю велику застелену; там приготовте.13 Пійшовши ж знайшли, як сказав їм, і приготовили пасху.14 І, як настала година, сїв Він, й дванайцять апостолів з Ним.15 І рече до них: Бажаннєм забажав я сю пасху їсти з вами, перш нїж прийму муки:16 глаголю бо вам: Що більш не їсти му її, доки сповнить ся в царстві Божому.17 І, взявши чашу, й оддавши хвалу, рече: Прийміть се та подїлить собі:18 глаголю бо вам: Що не пити му вже від плоду винограднього, доки царство Боже прийде.19 І, взявши хлїб, та оддавши хвалу, переломив, і дав їм, глаголючи: Се єсть тїло моє, що за вас даєть ся. Се чинїть на мій спомин.20 Так само й чашу після вечері, глаголючи: Ся чаша новий завіт у крові моїй, що за вас пролита буде.21 Та ось рука зрадника мого зо мною на столї.22 Син то чоловічий іде, як постановлено наперед, тільки ж горе чоловікові тому, що зрадить Його!23 І стали вони перепитуватись між собою, хто б з них був, що се має зробити.24 Постало ж і змаганнє між ними, хто з них здаєть ся бути більшим.25 Він же рече їм: Царі в поган панують над ними, й ті, що власть над ними мають, добродїями звуть ся.26 Ви ж не так: тільки ж найбільший між вами нехай буде як найменший, і хто старший - як слуга.27 Хто бо більший: хто за столом, чи хто послугує? хиба не хто за столом? я ж між вами, як слуга.28 Ви ж пробували зо мною в спокусах моїх.29 І я завітую вам, як завітував менї Отець мій, царство,30 щоб їли й пили за столом моїм у царстві моєму, і сидїли на престолах, судячи дванайцять родів Ізраїлевих.31 Рече ж Господь: Симоне, Симоне, ось сатана жадав собі вас, щоб просївати, як пшеницю;32 я ж молив ся за тебе, щоб не поменшала віра твоя, і ти колись, навернувшись, утверди братів твоїх.33 Він же каже Йому: Господи, з Тобою готов я і в темницю, і на смерть іти.34 Він же рече: Глаголю тобі, Петре, не запіє сьогоднї півень, перш нїж тричі відречеш ся, що не знаєш мене.35 І рече їм: Як посилав вас я без сакви, й торбини, й обувя, чи чого недоставало вам? Вони ж казали: Нїчого.36 Рече тодї їм: А тепер хто має сакву, нехай бере так само й торбину: а хто не має, нехай продасть одежу, та купить меч.37 Глаголю бо вам, що ще й се написане мусить справдитись на менї: І з беззаконними полїчено його: бо все про мене сповняєть ся.38 Вони ж сказали: Господи, ось мечів тут два. Він же рече їм: Доволї.39 І вийшовши пійшов по звичаю на гору Оливну; ійшли ж слїдом за Ним і ученики Його.40 Прибувши ж на місце, рече їм: Молїть ся, щоб не ввійти в спокусу.41 А сам відступив од них, так як кинути каменем, і, приклонивши колїна, молив ся,42 глаголючи: Отче, коли хочеш, мимо неси чашу сю від мене: тільки ж не моя воля, а Твоя нехай буде.43 Явив ся ж Йому ангел з неба, підкріпляючи Його.44 І, бувши в смертній боротьбі, ще пильнїще молив ся; був же піт Його як каплї крови, каплючі на землю.45 І, вставши від молитви, й прийшовши до учеників своїх, знайшов їх сплячих від смутку,46 і рече їм: Чого спите? уставши молїть ся, щоб не ввійшли в спокусу.47 Ще ж Він промовляв, ось народ і званий Юда, один з дванайцяти, йшов поперед них, і приступив до Ісуса, поцїлувати Його.48 Ісус же рече йому: Юдо, цїлуваннєм Сина чоловічого зраджуєш?49 Бачивши ж ті, що коло Него, до чого доходить, казали Йому: Господи, чи вдарити нам мечем?50 І вдарив один хтось із них слугу архиєрейського, та й відтяв йому ухо праве.51 І озвавшись Ісус, рече: Оставте аж до сього. І, приторкнувшись до уха його, сцїлив його.52 Рече ж Ісус до прийшовших на Него архиєреїв і воєвод, і церковних старших: Як на розбійника ви прийшли з мечами та киями?53 Як що-дня був я з вами в церкві, не простягали рук на мене; та се ваша година й власть темряви.54 Узявши ж Його, повели, й привели Його в двір архиєрейський. Петр же йшов слїдом оддалеки.55 Як же запалили огонь серед двора та посїдали вкупі, сїв і Петр серед них.56 Побачивши ж Його одна служниця, як сидїв коло сьвітла, й, придивляючись на него, сказала: І сей з Ним був.57 Він же одрік ся Його, кажучи: Жінко, не знаю Його.58 А згодя другий, побачивши його, сказав: І ти з них єси. Петр же каже: Чоловіче, нї.59 І мало що не через одну годину, инший хтось ствердив, кажучи: Справдї і сей з Ним був, бо й Галилеєць він.60 Каже Петр: Чоловіче, не знаю, що кажеш. І зараз, як ще говорив він, запіяв півень.61 І обернувшись Господь, поглянув на Петра. І згадав Петр слово Господнє, як глаголав йому: Що перш нїж півень запіє, відречеш ся мене тричі.62 І вийшовши геть Петр, заплакав гірко.63 А чоловіки, що держали Ісуса, насьміхались із Него, бючи.64 І, закривши Його, били в лице Його, та й питали Його, кажучи: Проречи, хто вдарив Тебе.65 І иншого багато, хуливши, казали на Него.66 А як настав день, зібралась старшина людська, та архиєреї і письменники, та й повели Його в раду свою, кажучи:67 Чи Ти єси Христос? скажи нам. Рече ж їм: Коли вам скажу, не піймете віри;68 коли ж і спитаю вас, не відповісте менї й не відпустите.69 Від нинї сидїти ме Син чоловічий по правицї сили Божої.70 І сказали всї: То се Ти Син Божий? Він же до них рече: Ви кажете, що се я.71 Вони ж сказали: На що нам ще сьвідчення? самі бо чули з уст Його.

LUKE 22

A Plot To Kill Jesus

(Matthew 26.1-5,14,16; Mark 14.1,2,10,11; John 11.45-53)

1  t The Festival of Thin Bread, also called Passover, was near. 2 The chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses were looking for a way to get rid of Jesus, because they were afraid of what the people might do.

3 Then Satan entered the heart of Judas Iscariot, t who was one of the twelve apostles.
4 Judas went to talk with the chief priests and the officers of the temple police about how he could help them arrest Jesus. 5 They were very pleased and offered to pay Judas some money.

6 He agreed and started looking for a good chance to betray Jesus when the crowds were not around.

Jesus Eats with His Disciples

(Matthew 26.17-25; Mark 14.12-21; John 13.21-30)

8 So Jesus said to Peter and John, “Go and prepare the Passover meal for us to eat.”

9 But they asked, “Where do you want us to prepare it?”
10 Jesus told them, “As you go into the city, you will meet a man carrying a jar of water.t Follow him into the house 11 and say to the owner, ‘Our teacher wants to know where he can eat the Passover meal with his disciples.’

12 The owner will take you upstairs and show you a large room ready for you to use. Prepare the meal there.”

13 Peter and John left. They found everything just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover meal.

The Lord's Supper

(Matthew 26.26-30; Mark 14.22-26; 1 Corinthians 11.23-25)

16 I tell you I will not eat another Passover meal until it is finally eaten in God's kingdom.”
17 Jesus took a cup of wine in his hands and gave thanks to God. Then he told the apostles, “Take this wine and share it with each other.

18 I tell you that I will not drink any more wine until God's kingdom comes.”

19 Jesus took some bread in his hands and gave thanks for it. He broke the bread and handed it to his apostles. Then he said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Eat this as a way of remembering me!”
20  t After the meal he took another cup of wine in his hands. Then he said, “This is my blood. It is poured out for you, and with it God makes his new agreement. 21 t The one who will betray me is here at the table with me!

22 The Son of Man will die in the way that has been decided for him, but it will be terrible for the one who betrays him!”

23 Then the apostles started arguing about who would ever do such a thing.

An Argument about Greatness

25 t So Jesus told them:
Foreign kings order their people around, and powerful rulers call themselves everyone's friends.t 26 t But don't be like them. The most important one of you should be like the least important, and your leader should be like a servant.

27 t Who do people think is the greatest, a person who is served or one who serves? Isn't it the one who is served? But I have been with you as a servant.
28 You have stayed with me in all my troubles. 29 So I will give you the right to rule as kings, just as my Father has given me the right to rule as a king.

30 t You will eat and drink with me in my kingdom, and you will each sit on a throne to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Jesus' Disciples //Will Be Tested

(Matthew 26.31-35; Mark 14.27-31; John 13.36-38)

32 But Simon, I have prayed that your faith will be strong. And when you have come back to me, help the others.”

33 Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to jail and even to die with you.”

34 Jesus replied, “Peter, I tell you that before a rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will say three times that you don't know me.”

Moneybags, Traveling Bags, //and Swords

35  t Jesus asked his disciples, “When I sent you out without a moneybag or a traveling bag or sandals, did you need anything?”
“No!” they answered.
36 Jesus told them, “But now, if you have a moneybag, take it with you. Also take a traveling bag, and if you don't have a sword, t sell some of your clothes and buy one.

37 t Do this because the Scriptures say, ‘He was considered a criminal.’ This was written about me, and it will soon come true.”

38 The disciples said, “Lord, here are two swords!”
“Enough of that!” Jesus replied.

Jesus Prays

(Matthew 26.36-46; Mark 14.32-42)

40 When they got there, he told them, “Pray that you won't be tested.”
41 Jesus walked on a little way before he knelt down and prayed,

42 “Father, if you will, please don't make me suffer by drinking from this cup.t But do what you want, and not what I want.”
43 Then an angel from heaven came to help him.

44 Jesus was in great pain and prayed so sincerely that his sweat fell to the ground like drops of blood.t
45 Jesus got up from praying and went over to his disciples. They were asleep and worn out from being so sad.

46 He said to them, “Why are you asleep? Wake up and pray that you won't be tested.”

Jesus Is Arrested

(Matthew 26.47-56; Mark 14.43-50; John 18.3-11)

47 While Jesus was still speaking, a crowd came up. It was led by Judas, one of the twelve apostles. He went over to Jesus and greeted him with a kiss.t

48 Jesus asked Judas, “Are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49 When Jesus' disciples saw what was about to happen, they asked, “Lord, should we attack them with a sword?”

50 One of the disciples even struck at the high priest's servant with his sword and cut off the servant's right ear.

51 “Enough of that!” Jesus said. Then he touched the servant's ear and healed it.
52 Jesus spoke to the chief priests, the temple police, and the leaders who had come to arrest him. He said, “Why do you come out with swords and clubs and treat me like a criminal?

53 t I was with you every day in the temple, and you didn't arrest me. But this is your time, and darknesst is in control.”

Peter Says //He Doesn't Know Jesus

(Matthew 26.57,58,67-75; Mark 14.53,54,66-72; John 18.12-18,25-27)

56 and a servant girl saw him. Then after she had looked at him carefully, she said, “This man was with Jesus!”

57 Peter said, “Woman, I don't even know that man!”

58 A little later someone else saw Peter and said, “You are one of them!”
“No, I'm not!” Peter replied.

59 About an hour later another man insisted, “This man must have been with Jesus. They both come from Galilee.”

60 Peter replied, “I don't know what you are talking about!” Right then, while Peter was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
61 The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered that the Lord had said, “Before a rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will say three times that you don't know me.”

62 Then Peter went out and cried bitterly.
63 The men who were guarding Jesus made fun of him and beat him. 64 They put a blindfold on him and said, “Tell us who struck you!”

65 They kept on insulting Jesus in many other ways.

Jesus Is Questioned //by the Council

(Matthew 26.59-66; Mark 14.55-64; John 18.19-24)

67 They said, “Tell us! Are you the Messiah?”
Jesus replied, “If I said so, you wouldn't believe me. 68 And if I asked you a question, you wouldn't answer.

69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right side of God All-Powerful.”

70 Then they asked, “Are you the Son of God?”t
Jesus answered, “You say I am!”t
71 They replied, “Why do we need more witnesses? He said it himself!”
