LUCAS 23

Gindala si Jesus kay Pilato

(Mat. 27:1-2; 11:14; Mar. 15:1-5; Juan 18:28-38)

1  Pagkatapos sadto, nagtindog sila tanan kag gindala nila si Jesus kay Pilato. + 1 Pilato: Ang Romanhon nga gobernador sang Judea, Samaria, kag Idumea. f 2 Dayon gin-akusar nila si Jesus kay Pilato. Siling nila,3 Gani ginpamangkot siya ni Pilato, Nagsabat si Jesus sa iya,4 Dayon nagsiling si Pilato sa manugdumala nga mga pari kag sa mga tawo,

5 Pero nagpamilit gid sila nga nagasiling,

Gindala si Jesus kay Herodes

6 Pagkabati sadto ni Pilato, nagpamangkot siya kon taga-Galilea bala si Jesus.

7 Sang pagkahibalo niya nga si Jesus halin sa lugar nga sakop sang ginadumalahan ni Herodes, ginpadala niya si Jesus sa iya, kay sang sadto nga tion ato man si Herodes sa Jerusalem.
8 Pagkakita ni Herodes kay Jesus nalipay gid siya, kay dugay na ang iya handom nga makita si Jesus tungod kay madamo na ang iya nabatian parte sa iya, kag gusto man niya nga maghimo siya sang milagro agod makita niya.9 Madamo ang mga pamangkot ni Herodes kay Jesus, pero wala gid siya magsabat.10 Ang manugdumala nga mga pari kag ang mga manunudlo sang Kasuguan nagatindog didto kag kon ano-ano pa ang ila mga akusasyon kay Jesus.11  Gintamay kag ginyaguta siya ni Herodes kag sang iya mga guwardya. Kag dugang pa gid nga pagyaguta, ginpasuksukan nila siya sang matahom gid nga bayo, nga daw isa ka dungganon nga tawo, kag ginpabalik didto kay Pilato.

12 Sa sadto nga adlaw nag-amigohay si Pilato kag si Herodes, kay sadto anay nagakontrahanay sila.

Ginsentensyahan si Jesus nga Patyon

(Mat. 27:15-26; Mar. 15:6-15; Juan 18:39-19:16)

13 Ginpatawag ni Pilato ang manugdumala nga mga pari, ang mga manugdumala sang banwa, kag ang mga tawo.14 Dayon nagsiling siya sa ila,15 Bisan si Herodes gani wala man sing may nakita nga sala sa sining tawo. Amo gani nga ginpabalik niya siya diri. Wala gid sing may nahimo ini nga tawo nga takos sang kamatayon.16 Gani ipahanot ko lang siya kag buy-an." [17 Sa tagsa ka Piesta sang Paglabay sang Anghel kinahanglan ni Pilato nga maghilway sang isa ka priso.]18 Pero nagsinggit ang mga tawo,19 (Napriso si Barabas tungod nga kaupod siya nga nagrebelde sa Jerusalem kag nakapatay pa siya.)20 Gusto kuntani ni Pilato nga buy-an si Jesus, gani ginhambalan pa gid niya ang mga tawo.21 Pero sige ang singgit sang mga tawo,22 Naghambal pa gid sa ila si Pilato sa ikatlo,23 Pero sige pa gid ang ila sininggit nga ilansang siya sa krus. Kag sang ulihi ginpamatian gid man sila.24  Ginpasundan ni Pilato ang gusto sang mga tawo nga ilansang si Jesus sa krus .

25 Ginbuy-an niya ang tawo nga napriso tungod sang iya pagrebelde sa gobyerno kag pagpamatay, kay amo ato ang ginpangayo sang mga tawo. Pero si Jesus iya, gintugyan niya sa ila agod mahimo nila ang ila gusto sa iya.

Ginlansang si Jesus sa Krus

(Mat. 27:32-44; Mar. 15:21-32; Juan 19:17-27)

26 Sang ginadala nila si Jesus sa lugar nga pagalansangan sa iya, may nasugata sila nga tawo nga si Simon nga taga-Cyrene. Nagapasulod siya sa siyudad halin sa uma. Ginhawiran nila siya, kag ginpapas-an nila sang krus, kag ginpasunod kay Jesus.
27 Madamo nga mga tawo ang nagsunod kay Jesus. May mga babayi didto nga nagahilibion kag nagapanalambiton tungod nga naluoy gid sila kay Jesus.28 Pero ginbalikid sila ni Jesus kag ginsilingan,29 Tungod nga magaabot ang mga inadlaw nga magasiling ang mga tawo,30  Sa sina nga tion magasiling ang mga tawo sa mga bukid, + 30 Hos. 10:8.

31  Kay kon ginahimo nila ini sa akon nga wala gani sing sala, ti ano pa gid ayhan kalain ang ila himuon sa tawo nga may sala?" + 31 Sa literal, Kay kon ginhimo nila ini sa buhi pa nga kahoy, ano pa gid ayhan sa laya na nga kahoy?
32 Luwas kay Jesus may duha pa ka tawo nga mga kriminal nga ila gindala agod pagapatyon.33 Pag-abot nila sa lugar nga ginatawag ginlansang nila si Jesus sa krus upod ang duha ka kriminal. Ang isa ginbutang nila sa tuo ni Jesus kag ang isa sa wala.34 [Nagsiling si Jesus, ] Kag naggabot-gabot ang mga soldado agod partidahon ang mga bayo ni Jesus.35 Nagatilindog didto ang mga tawo nga nagatulok. Ginyaguta siya sang mga manugdumala sang banwa. Siling nila,36 Nagyaguta man sa iya ang mga soldado samtang nagapalapit sila agod paimnon siya sang maaslom nga bino.37 Siling nila,

38 Kag may ginbutang sila nga karatula didto sa iya uluhan nga nagasiling,
39 Ang isa sa mga kriminal nga nalansang sa krus nagpasipala man kay Jesus. Siling niya,40 Pero ginsaway siya sang isa ka kriminal. Siling niya,41 Kita nga duha dapat gid nga silutan tungod sang aton mga sala. Pero ini nga tawo wala gid sing sala."42 Dayon nagsiling siya kay Jesus,

43 Nagsiling si Jesus sa iya,

Ang Pagkapatay ni Jesus

(Mat. 27:45-56; Mar. 15:33-41; Juan 19:28-30)

44-45  Sang mga alas dose na sang udto, wala na nagsilak ang adlaw kag nagdulom ang bug-os nga kalibutan sa sulod sang tatlo ka oras. Napihak ang kurtina sang templo halin sa ibabaw paidalom .46  Nagsinggit sing mabaskog si Jesus, + 46 Salmo 31:5. Sang makahambal siya sadto nabugto ang iya ginhawa.47 Pagkakita sang kapitan sang natabo, nagdayaw siya sa Dios. Siling niya,48  Ang mga tawo nga nagtilipon sa pagtan-aw sang nagakalatabo nagpalauli nga nagapamukpok sang ila dughan tungod sang dako nga kasubo .

49 Ang mga nakakilala kay Jesus kag ang mga babayi nga nag-upod sa iya halin pa sa Galilea nagtindog sa malayo kag nakita man nila ang nagkalatabo.

Ang Paglubong kay Jesus

(Mat. 27:57-61; Mar. 15:42-47; Juan 19:38-42)

50-51 May isa ka tawo nga ang iya ngalan si Jose nga taga-Arimatea nga sakop sang Judea. Miyembro siya sang Korte sang mga Judio, pero wala siya nagsugot sa ila plano sa pagpatay kay Jesus. Maayo kag matarong siya nga tawo, kag nagapaabot siya sa paghari sang Dios.52 Nagkadto siya kay Pilato kag ginpangayo niya ang bangkay ni Jesus.53 Dayon ginkuha niya ang bangkay ni Jesus sa krus kag ginsamburan sang tela nga linen. Ginbutang niya ang bangkay sa lulubngan nga gin-guhab sa banglid nga wala pa gid malubngi.

54 Biyernes sadto kag adlaw sang pagpreparar para sa Adlaw nga Inugpahuway.
55 Ang mga babayi nga nag-upod kay Jesus halin sa Galilea nagsunod man kay Jose kag nakita nila ang ginlubngan kag kon paano ang pagbutang sang bangkay ni Jesus.

56 Dayon nagpauli sila kag nagpreparar sing mga pahamot nga inughaplas sa bangkay ni Jesus.
Pero sa Adlaw nga Inugpahuway, nagpahuway sila suno sa Kasuguan.

Luke 23

Pilate

1-2 Then they all took Jesus to Pilate and began to bring up charges against him. They said, "We found this man undermining our law and order, forbidding taxes to be paid to Caesar, setting himself up as Messiah-King."

3 Pilate asked him, "Is this true that you're 'King of the Jews'?"
"Those are your words, not mine," Jesus replied.

4 Pilate told the high priests and the accompanying crowd, "I find nothing wrong here. He seems harmless enough to me."

5 But they were vehement. "He's stirring up unrest among the people with his teaching, disturbing the peace everywhere, starting in Galilee and now all through Judea. He's a dangerous man, endangering the peace."

6-7 When Pilate heard that, he asked, "So, he's a Galilean?" Realizing that he properly came under Herod's jurisdiction, he passed the buck to Herod, who just happened to be in Jerusalem for a few days.

8-10 Herod was delighted when Jesus showed up. He had wanted for a long time to see him, he'd heard so much about him. He hoped to see him do something spectacular. He peppered him with questions. Jesus didn't answer—not one word. But the high priests and religion scholars were right there, saying their piece, strident and shrill in their accusations.

11-12 Mightily offended, Herod turned on Jesus. His soldiers joined in, taunting and jeering. Then they dressed him up in an elaborate king costume and sent him back to Pilate. That day Herod and Pilate became thick as thieves. Always before they had kept their distance.

13-16 Then Pilate called in the high priests, rulers, and the others and said, "You brought this man to me as a disturber of the peace. I examined him in front of all of you and found there was nothing to your charge. And neither did Herod, for he has sent him back here with a clean bill of health. It's clear that he's done nothing wrong, let alone anything deserving death. I'm going to warn him to watch his step and let him go."

18-20 At that, the crowd went wild: "Kill him! Give us Barabbas!" (Barabbas had been thrown in prison for starting a riot in the city and for murder.) Pilate still wanted to let Jesus go, and so spoke out again.

21 But they kept shouting back, "Crucify! Crucify him!"

22 He tried a third time. "But for what crime? I've found nothing in him deserving death. I'm going to warn him to watch his step and let him go."

23-25 But they kept at it, a shouting mob, demanding that he be crucified. And finally they shouted him down. Pilate caved in and gave them what they wanted. He released the man thrown in prison for rioting and murder, and gave them Jesus to do whatever they wanted.

Skull Hill

26-31 As they led him off, they made Simon, a man from Cyrene who happened to be coming in from the countryside, carry the cross behind Jesus. A huge crowd of people followed, along with women weeping and carrying on. At one point Jesus turned to the women and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, don't cry for me. Cry for yourselves and for your children. The time is coming when they'll say, 'Lucky the women who never conceived! Lucky the wombs that never gave birth! Lucky the breasts that never gave milk!' Then they'll start calling to the mountains, 'Fall down on us!' calling to the hills, 'Cover us up!' If people do these things to a live, green tree, can you imagine what they'll do with deadwood?"

32 Two others, both criminals, were taken along with him for execution.

33 When they got to the place called Skull Hill, they crucified him, along with the criminals, one on his right, the other on his left.

34-35 Jesus prayed, "Father, forgive them; they don't know what they're doing."
Dividing up his clothes, they threw dice for them. The people stood there staring at Jesus, and the ringleaders made faces, taunting, "He saved others. Let's see him save himself! The Messiah of God—ha! The Chosen—ha!"

36-37 The soldiers also came up and poked fun at him, making a game of it. They toasted him with sour wine: "So you're King of the Jews! Save yourself!"

38 Printed over him was a sign: this is the king of the jews.

39 One of the criminals hanging alongside cursed him: "Some Messiah you are! Save yourself! Save us!"

40-41 But the other one made him shut up: "Have you no fear of God? You're getting the same as him. We deserve this, but not him—he did nothing to deserve this."

42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you enter your kingdom."

43 He said, "Don't worry, I will. Today you will join me in paradise."

44-46 By now it was noon. The whole earth became dark, the darkness lasting three hours—a total blackout. The Temple curtain split right down the middle. Jesus called loudly, "Father, I place my life in your hands!" Then he breathed his last.

47 When the captain there saw what happened, he honored God: "This man was innocent! A good man, and innocent!"

48-49 All who had come around as spectators to watch the show, when they saw what actually happened, were overcome with grief and headed home. Those who knew Jesus well, along with the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a respectful distance and kept vigil.

50-54 There was a man by the name of Joseph, a member of the Jewish High Council, a man of good heart and good character. He had not gone along with the plans and actions of the council. His hometown was the Jewish village of Arimathea. He lived in alert expectation of the kingdom of God. He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Taking him down, he wrapped him in a linen shroud and placed him in a tomb chiseled into the rock, a tomb never yet used. It was the day before Sabbath, the Sabbath just about to begin.

55-56 The women who had been companions of Jesus from Galilee followed along. They saw the tomb where Jesus' body was placed. Then they went back to prepare burial spices and perfumes. They rested quietly on the Sabbath, as commanded.
