Допрос Иисуса правителем Пилатом

1 Тогда все поднялись и повели Иисуса к Пилату;

2 и стали обвинять Его: «Мы нашли, что Он вводит в заблуждение людей. Он против того, чтобы платить налоги Цезарю, и называет Себя Христом, Царём».

3 Тогда Пилат спросил Его: «Ты — Царь Иудейский?»
Он ответил: «Ты прав говоря, что Я — Царь Иудейский».

4 Тогда Пилат сказал главным священникам и толпе: «Я не нахожу причин для обвинений против этого Человека».

5 Но они настаивали: «Своим учением Он сеет смятение среди народа по всей Иудее. Он начал в Галилее, а теперь пришёл и сюда».

Пилат отправляет Иисуса к Ироду

6 Услышав это, Пилат спросил, не галилеянин ли Он.

7 Узнав, что Иисус подвластен Ироду, он отправил Его к Ироду, который в те дни тоже был в Иерусалиме.

8 Ирод очень обрадовался, увидев Иисуса, потому что давно уже хотел встреться с Ним, так как слышал о Нём и надеялся увидеть какое-нибудь знамение, сотворённое Им.

9 Он задавал Ему много вопросов, но Иисус не отвечал ему.

10 Главные священники и законники также находились там, выкрикивая обвинения против Него.

11 Ирод же со своими солдатами высмеивал Иисуса и издевался над Ним. И, одев Его в царское одеяние, отправил назад к Пилату.

12 В тот день Ирод и Пилат стали друзьями, хотя до этого враждовали.

Осуждение Иисуса

13 И созвал тогда Пилат главных священников, предводителей и весь народ

14 и сказал им: «Вы привели Этого Человека, обвиняя Его в том, что Он сеет смятение в умах людей, а я, проведя расследование перед вами, не нашёл никаких оснований для ваших обвинений.

15 И Ирод тоже не нашёл, так как отправил Его обратно к нам. Как видите, Он не совершил ничего такого, за что Его следует предать смерти.

16 Поэтому я, наказав Его, отпущу».

17 [Каждый год на праздник Пасхи Пилат имел обычай освобождать одного из заключенных по желанию народа.]t

18 Но все в один голос закричали: «Смерть Ему! Отпусти нам Варавву!»

19 Варавва был заключён в темницу за мятеж в городе и убийство.

20 И снова Пилат обратился к ним, так как хотел отпустить Иисуса,

21 но они продолжали кричать: «Распни Его! Распни Его!»

22 В третий раз Пилат обратился к ним: «Какое преступление совершил этот Человек? Я не нашёл Его виновным ни в чём, заслуживающем смерти. Поэтому я, наказав Его, отпущу».

23 Но они продолжали кричать и требовали, чтобы Его распяли. Их крик был настолько громок,

24 что Пилат решил исполнить их требование.

25 Он освободил Варавву, сидевшего в темнице за мятеж и убийство. Затем Пилат передал им Иисуса, чтобы убить, как они того и требовали.

Распятие Иисуса на кресте

26 Когда стражники повели Иисуса, они, увидев Симона киринеянина, который возвращался в город с поля, взвалили на него крест и заставили Симона нести его вслед за Иисусом.

27 Большая толпа народа следовала за Ним, а некоторые из женщин стали скорбеть и причитать о Нём.

28 Но обернувшись, Иисус сказал им: «Дочери иерусалимские, не плачьте обо Мне. Оплакивайте себя и детей своих,

29 потому что приближается время, когда люди скажут: „Блаженны бесплодные и никогда не рожавшие, и никогда не вскармливавшие грудью!”

30 И скажут они горам: „Обрушьтесь на нас!” — а холмам: „Покройте нас!”t

31 И если такое может случиться с хорошим Человеком, то что же будет тогда с теми, кто заслуживает наказания?t»

32 И было там также двое преступников, которых повели на казнь вместе с Ним.

33 И, придя на место, называемое Лобным, солдаты распяли Иисуса и преступников: одного справа, а другого слева от Него.

34 Иисус же сказал: «Отец, прости им, потому что они не ведают, что творят».t
А солдаты бросали жребий, деля между собой Его одежду.

35 Народ стоял и смотрел, а их предводители глумились над Иисусом, говоря: «Он спасал других, так пусть же и Себя спасёт, если Он Христос, Избранник Божий!»

36 Воины тоже подошли и насмехались над Иисусом, и предлагали Ему уксус.

37 «Если Ты Царь Иудейский, — сказали они, — спаси Себя Самого!»

38 Над Его головой было написано: «это царь иудейский».

39 Один из распятых с ним преступников оскорблял Его: «Разве Ты не Христос? — говорил он. — Спаси Себя, да и нас заодно!»

40 Но другой остановил его, сказав: «Побойся Бога! Мы все трое скоро умрём.

41 Мы-то с тобой виновны, и нас следует убить за то зло, что мы совершили. Этот же Человек ничего плохого не сделал».

42 И добавил: «Иисус, вспомни обо мне, когда придёшь в Царство Своё».

43 И ответил Иисус: «Истинно говорю тебе, что сегодня же будешь со Мной в раю».

Смерть Иисуса

44 Было около полудня, но тьма покрывала всю землю и продолжалось это до трёх часов пополудни,

45 и солнце не светило, а завеса храмаt разорвалась надвое.

46 И громким голосом воскликнул Иисус: «Отец, в Твои руки передаю дух Мой!»t И с этими словами испустил дух.

47 Увидев это, сотник восхвалил Бога и сказал: «Несомненно, этот Человек был праведник».

48 И когда все люди, собравшиеся там, увидели, что произошло, они разошлись по домам, бия себя в грудьt.

49 Все же, знавшие Его, и женщины, следовавшие за Ним из Галилеи, стояли вдали и смотрели на это.

Иосиф Аримафеянин

50-51 И был там один человек по имени Иосиф, из иудейского города Аримафея, член иудейского совета, человек хороший и праведный, дожидавшийся Царства Божьего. Он не был согласен с иудейскими предводителями, когда они решили убить Иисуса.

52 Этот человек пошёл к Пилату и попросил отдать ему тело Иисуса.

53 Сняв Его с креста, он обернул тело полотном и положил в новую гробницу, высеченную в скале.

54 Была пятница и приближалась суббота.

55 Следуя за Иосифом, женщины, пришедшие с Иисусом из Галилеи, увидели гробницу, где было положено Его тело.

56 Затем они возвратились домой и приготовили благовонные масла́ и миро; в субботу же они отдыхали, как предписывала заповедь.

Luke 23

Jesus before Pilate

1 Then the whole body of them got up and brought Him before Pilate.2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, "We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is Christ, a King."3 So Pilate asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And He answered him and said, "It is as you say."4 Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, "I find no guilt in this man."5 But they kept on insisting, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching all over Judea, starting from Galilee even as far as this place."

6 When Pilate heard it, he asked whether the man was a Galilean.7 And when he learned that He belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself also was in Jerusalem at that time.

Jesus before Herod

8 Now Herod was very glad when he saw Jesus; for he had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had been hearing about Him and was hoping to see some sign performed by Him.9 And he questioned Him at some length; but He answered him nothing.10 And the chief priests and the scribes were standing there, accusing Him vehemently.11 And Herod with his soldiers, after treating Him with contempt and mocking Him, dressed Him in a gorgeous robe and sent Him back to Pilate.12 Now Herod and Pilate became friends with one another that very day; for before they had been enemies with each other.

Pilate Seeks Jesus' Release

13 Pilate summoned the chief priests and the rulers and the people,14 and said to them, "You brought this man to me as one who incites the people to rebellion, and behold, having examined Him before you, I have found no guilt in this man regarding the charges which you make against Him.15 No, nor has Herod, for he sent Him back to us; and behold, nothing deserving death has been done by Him.16 Therefore I will punish Him and release Him."17 [tNow he was obliged to release to them at the feast one prisoner.]

18 But they cried out all together, saying, "Away with this man, and release for us Barabbas!"19 (He was one who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection made in the city, and for murder.)20 Pilate, wanting to release Jesus, addressed them again,21 but they kept on calling out, saying, "Crucify, crucify Him!"22 And he said to them the third time, "Why, what evil has this man done? I have found in Him no guilt demanding death; therefore I will punish Him and release Him."23 But they were insistent, with loud voices asking that He be crucified. And their voices began to prevail.24 And Pilate pronounced sentence that their demand be granted.25 And he released the man they were asking for who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, but he delivered Jesus to their will.

Simon Bears the Cross

26 When they led Him away, they seized a man, Simon of Cyrene, coming in from the country, and placed on him the cross to carry behind Jesus.

27 And following Him was a large crowd of the people, and of women who were mourning and lamenting Him.28 But Jesus turning to them said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, stop weeping for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.29 For behold, the days are coming when they will say, 'Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.'30 Then they will begin TO SAY TO THE MOUNTAINS, 'FALL ON US,' AND TO THE HILLS, 'COVER US.'31 For if they do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?"

32 Two others also, who were criminals, were being led away to be put to death with Him.

The Crucifixion

33 When they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.34 But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.35 And the people stood by, looking on. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One."36 The soldiers also mocked Him, coming up to Him, offering Him sour wine,37 and saying, "If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!"38 Now there was also an inscription above Him, "THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS."

39 One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, "Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!"40 But the other answered, and rebuking him said, "Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?41 And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong."42 And he was saying, "Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!"43 And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."

44 It was now about tthe sixth hour, and darkness fell over the whole land until tthe ninth hour,45 because the sun was obscured; and the veil of the temple was torn in two.46 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT." Having said this, He breathed His last.47 Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, "Certainly this man was innocent."48 And all the crowds who came together for this spectacle, when they observed what had happened, began to return, beating their breasts.49 And all His acquaintances and the women who accompanied Him from Galilee were standing at a distance, seeing these things.

Jesus Is Buried

50 And a man named Joseph, who was a member of the Council, a good and righteous man51 (he had not consented to their plan and action), a man from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who was waiting for the kingdom of God;52 this man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.53 And he took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid Him in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had ever lain.54 It was the preparation day, and the Sabbath was about to begin.55 Now the women who had come with Him out of Galilee followed, and saw the tomb and how His body was laid.

56 Then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes.
And on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
