LUKAS 5

Yesus memilih pengikut-pengikut-Nya yang pertama

(Mat. 4:18-22; Mrk. 1:16-20)

1 Pada suatu waktu, Yesus berdiri di pantai Danau Genesaret. Banyak orang berdesak-desakan untuk mendengar berita dari Allah. 2 Yesus melihat dua perahu di pantai itu; nelayan-nelayannya sudah turun dari perahu-perahu itu dan sedang mencuci jala mereka. Jala dan sebuah perahu nelayan 3 Yesus naik ke salah satu perahu, yaitu perahu Simon, lalu menyuruh Simon mendorong perahunya itu sedikit jauh dari pantai. Yesus duduk di dalam perahu itu dan mengajar orang banyak. t

4 Setelah selesai mengajar, Ia berkata kepada Simon, “Berdayunglah ke tempat yang dalam, dan tebarkan jalamu untuk menangkap ikan.”

5 “Bapak Guru,” jawab Simon, “sepanjang malam kami bekerja keras, namun tidak menangkap apa-apa! Tetapi karena Bapak suruh, baiklah; saya akan menebarkan jala lagi.” t 6 Sesudah mereka melakukan itu, mereka mendapat begitu banyak ikan sampai jala mereka mulai robek. t 7 Sebab itu mereka minta tolong kepada teman-teman mereka di perahu yang lain. Teman-teman mereka itu datang lalu mereka bersama-sama mengisi kedua perahu itu penuh dengan ikan sampai perahu-perahu itu hampir tenggelam. 8 Waktu Simon melihat itu, ia sujud di hadapan Yesus, lalu berkata, “Tinggalkanlah saya, Tuhan! Sebab saya orang berdosa!”

9 Simon dan semua orang yang bersama dia heran melihat banyaknya ikan yang mereka tangkap. 10 Begitu juga dengan teman-teman Simon, yaitu Yakobus dan Yohanes, anak-anak Zebedeus. Yesus berkata kepada Simon, “Jangan takut! Mulai sekarang engkau akan menjadi penjala orang.”

11 Simon dan teman-temannya menarik perahu-perahu itu ke pantai, kemudian meninggalkan semuanya, lalu mengikuti Yesus.

Yesus menyembuhkan seorang yang berpenyakit kulit yang mengerikan

(Mat. 8:1-4; Mrk. 1:40-45)

12 Pada suatu hari, Yesus berada di suatu kota. Di sana ada seorang laki-laki yang badannya penuh dengan penyakit kulit yang mengerikan.t Ketika ia melihat Yesus, ia sujud di hadapan-Nya sambil memohon, “Pak, kalau Bapak mau, Bapak dapat menyembuhkan saya!”

13 Yesus menjamah orang itu sambil berkata, “Aku mau, sembuhlah!” Saat itu juga penyakitnya hilang. 14 Lalu Yesus melarang orang itu menceritakan hal itu kepada siapa pun, kata-Nya, “Pergilah kepada imam, dan minta dia untuk memastikan engkau sudah sembuh. Lalu pergilah mempersembahkan kurban seperti yang diperintahkan Musa, sebagai bukti kepada orang-orang bahwa engkau sungguh-sungguh sudah sembuh.” t

15 Tetapi kabar tentang Yesus makin tersebar ke mana-mana, dan banyak orang datang untuk mendengar-Nya dan untuk disembuhkan dari penyakit mereka. 16 Setelah itu Yesus pergi berdoa ke tempat yang sunyi.

Yesus menyembuhkan seorang lumpuh

(Mat. 9:1-8; Mrk. 2:1-12)

17 Pada suatu hari ketika Yesus sedang mengajar, ada beberapa orang Farisi dan guru-guru agama duduk di situ. Mereka datang dari Yerusalem, dan dari kota-kota di Galilea dan Yudea. Kuasa Tuhan ada pada Yesus untuk menyembuhkan orang-orang sakit. 18 Pada waktu itu beberapa orang datang membawa seorang lumpuh yang terbaring di atas tikar. Mereka berusaha membawa orang itu ke dalam rumah supaya dapat meletakkan dia di depan Yesus. 19 Tetapi karena orang terlalu banyak di sana, mereka tidak dapat membawanya masuk. Oleh sebab itu mereka menaikkan dia ke atas atap rumah. Lalu mereka membongkar genting, dan menurunkan dia bersama-sama dengan tikarnya di depan Yesus di tengah-tengah orang banyak itu. 20 Waktu Yesus melihat betapa besar iman mereka, Ia berkata kepada orang itu, “Saudara, dosamu sudah diampuni.”

21 Guru-guru agama dan orang-orang Farisi mulai berkata satu sama lain, “Siapa orang ini yang berani menghina Allah? Siapa yang boleh mengampuni dosa, selain Allah sendiri?”

22 Yesus tahu pertanyaan mereka. Jadi Ia berkata, “Mengapa kalian bertanya-tanya begitu di dalam hatimu? 23 Manakah yang lebih mudah, mengatakan, ‘Dosamu sudah diampuni’, atau mengatakan, ‘Bangunlah dan berjalanlah!’? 24 Tetapi sekarang Aku akan membuktikan kepada kalian bahwa di atas bumi ini Anak Manusia berkuasa untuk mengampuni dosa.” Lalu Yesus berkata kepada orang yang lumpuh itu, “Bangunlah, angkat tempat tidurmu, dan pulanglah!”

25 Segera orang itu bangun di depan mereka semua, lalu mengangkat tempat tidurnya, dan pulang sambil memuji Allah.

26 Mereka semuanya kagum sekali lalu memuji Allah. Dan dengan perasaan takut, mereka berkata, “Ajaib sekali peristiwa yang kita saksikan hari ini!”

Yesus memanggil Lewi

(Mat. 9:9-13; Mrk. 2:13-17)

27 Setelah itu Yesus keluar dan melihat seorang penagih pajak, bernama Lewi, sedang duduk di kantornya. Yesus berkata kepadanya, “Ikutlah Aku.” 28 Lewi berdiri dan meninggalkan semuanya, lalu mengikuti Yesus.

29 Sesudah itu Lewi mengadakan pesta di rumahnya untuk Yesus. Banyak penagih pajak dan orang-orang lain ikut makan bersama-sama dengan mereka. 30 Beberapa orang Farisi dan guru-guru agama merasa tidak senang, lalu berkata kepada pengikut-pengikut Yesus, “Mengapa kamu semua makan minum dengan penagih pajak dan orang-orang tidak baik?” t

31 Yesus menjawab, “Orang yang sehat tidak memerlukan dokter; hanya orang yang sakit saja. 32 Aku datang bukan untuk memanggil orang-orang yang menganggap dirinya sudah baik, melainkan orang-orang yang berdosa supaya mereka bertobat dari dosa-dosa mereka.”

Persoalan tentang puasa

(Mat. 9:14-17; Mrk. 2:18-22)

33 Orang-orang berkata kepada Yesus, “Pengikut Yohanes dan pengikut orang Farisi sering berpuasa dan berdoa. Tetapi pengikut-pengikut-Mu makan dan minum.”

34 Yesus menjawab, “Apakah kalian dapat menyuruh tamu-tamu berpuasa di pesta kawin, selama pengantin laki-laki masih bersama-sama mereka? Tentu tidak! 35 Tetapi akan tiba saatnya pengantin laki-laki itu diambil dari mereka. Pada waktu itulah mereka akan berpuasa.”

36 Lalu Yesus menceritakan kepada mereka perumpamaan ini, “Tidak ada orang yang menambal baju lama dengan sepotong kain dari baju baru. Sebab ia menyobek baju yang baru itu. Lagipula kain penambal yang baru itu tidak cocok dengan baju yang tua. 37 Begitu juga tidak ada orang yang menuang anggur baru ke dalam kantong kulit yang tua, karena anggur baru itu akan menyebabkan kantong itu pecah. Maka anggurnya terbuang, dan kantongnya rusak. 38 Anggur yang baru harus dituang ke dalam kantong yang baru juga. 39 Begitu juga tidak ada orang yang mau minum anggur baru setelah minum anggur tua. ‘Anggur tua itu lebih enak,’ katanya.”

Luke 5

The Call of the Disciples

1 Nowt Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,s and the crowd was pressing around hims to hear the word of God.2 Het saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.3 He got intot one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Thent Jesust sat downt and taught the crowds from the boat.4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and lowert your nets for a catch.”5 Simont answered,t “Master,t we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your wordt I will lowert the nets.”6 Whent they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear.t7 Sot they motionedt to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were about to sink.t8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord,s for I am a sinful man!”s9 Fors Petert and all who were with him were astonisheds at the catch of fish that they had taken,10 and so were James and John, Zebedee’s sons, who were Simon’s business partners.t Thent Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now ons you will be catching people.”ts

11 Sot when they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followeds him.

Healing a Leper

12 Whilet Jesust was in one of the towns,t a man camet to him who was covered witht leprosy.s Whent he saw Jesus, he bowed down with his face to the groundt and begged him,t “Lord, ift you are willing, you can make me clean.”13 Sot he stretched out his hand and toucheds him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.14 Thent he ordered the mant to tell no one,s but commanded him,t “Got and show yourself to a priest, and bring the offeringt for your cleansing, as Moses commanded,s as a testimony to them.”t15 But the news about him spread even more,s and large crowds were gathering together to hear himt and to be healed of their illnesses.

16 Yet Jesus himselft frequently withdrewt to the wildernesst and prayed.

Healing and Forgiving a Paralytic

17 Now ont one of those days, while he was teaching, there were Phariseess and teachers of the lawt sitting nearby (who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem),ss and the power of the Lord was with hims to heal.18 Just thent some men showed up, carrying a paralyzed mant on a stretcher.t Theyt were trying to bring him in and place him before Jesus.t19 Butt since they foundt no way to carry him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roofs and let him down on the stretchert through the roof tilest rightt in front of Jesus.s20 Whent Jesust saw theirs faith he said, “Friend,t your sins are forgiven.”ts21 Thent the experts in the lawt and the Pharisees began to thinkt to themselves,t “Who is this mant who is uttering blasphemies?s Who can forgive sins but God alone?”22 When Jesus perceiveds their hostile thoughts,t he said to them,t “Why are you raising objectionst within yourselves?23 Which is easier,s to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up and walk’?24 But so that you may knows that the Son of Mans has authority on earth to forgive sins” – he said to the paralyzed mants – “I tell you, stand up, take your stretchert and go home.”t25 Immediatelyt he stood up before them, pickedt up the stretchert he had been lying on, and went home, glorifyings God.

26 Thent astonishmentt seized them all, and they glorifiedt God. They were filled with awe,t saying, “We have seen incrediblet thingst today.”s

The Call of Levi; Eating with Sinners

27 Aftert this, Jesust went out and saw a tax collectors named Levis sitting at the tax booth.ts “Follow me,”s he said to him.

28 And he got up and followed him, leaving everythings behind.t
29 Thent Levi gave a great banquets in his house for Jesus,t and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sittingt at the table with them.30 Butt the Phariseess and their experts in the lawt complainedt to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”s31 Jesust answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do.s

32 I have not comes to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”s

The Superiority of the New

33 Thent they said to him, “John’sss disciples frequently fasts and pray,t and so do the disciples of the Pharisees,s but yours continue to eat and drink.”t34 Sot Jesus said to them, “You cannot make the wedding guestst fast while the bridegrooms is with them, can you?t35 But those days are coming, and when the bridegroom is taken from them,s at that timet they will fast.”36 He also told them a parable:s “No one tears a patch from a new garment and sewst it on an old garment. If he does, he will have tornt the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.s37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins.s If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.38 Instead new wine must be poured into new wineskins.ss

39 ss Nos one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, ‘The old is good enough.’”sts
