Jésus appelle les premiers disciples

1 Un jour, Jésus se tenait au bord du lac de Génésaretht et la foule se pressait autour de lui pour écouter la parole de Dieu. 2 Il vit deux barques près de la rive : les pêcheurs en étaient descendus et lavaient leurs filets.
3 Jésus monta dans l’une des barques, qui appartenait à Simon, et pria celui-ci de s’éloigner un peu du bord. Jésus s’assit dans la barque et se mit à donner son enseignement à la foule.
4 Quand il eut fini de parler, il dit à Simon : « Avance plus loin, là où l’eau est profonde, puis, toi et tes compagnons, jetez vos filets pour pêcher. » 5 Simon lui répondit : « Maître, nous avons peiné toute la nuit sans rien prendre. Mais puisque tu me dis de le faire, je jetterai les filets. » 6 Ils les jetèrent donc et prirent une si grande quantité de poissons que leurs filets commençaient à se déchirert. 7 Ils firent alors signe à leurs compagnons qui étaient dans l’autre barque de venir les aider. Ceux-ci vinrent et, ensemble, ils remplirent les deux barques de tant de poissons qu’elles enfonçaient dans l’eau. 8 Quand Simon Pierre vit cela, il se mit à genoux devant Jésus et dit : « Éloigne-toi de moi, Seigneur, car je suis un homme pécheur ! » 9 Simon, comme tous ceux qui étaient avec lui, était en effet saisi de crainte, à cause de la grande quantité de poissons qu’ils avaient pris. 10 Il en était de même des compagnons de Simon, Jacques et Jean, les fils de Zébédée. Mais Jésus dit à Simon : « N’aie pas peur ; désormais, ce sont des hommes que tu prendras. »
11 Ils ramenèrent alors leurs barques à terre et laissèrent tout pour suivre Jésus.Jésus guérit un lépreux

12 Alors que Jésus se trouvait dans une localité, survint un homme couvert de lèpre. Quand il vit Jésus, il se jeta devant lui le visage contre terre et le pria en ces termes : « Maître, si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre pur. » 13 Jésus étendit la main, le toucha et déclara : « Je le veux, sois pur ! » Aussitôt, la lèpre quitta cet homme. 14 Jésus lui donna cet ordre : « Ne parle de cela à personne. Mais va te faire examiner par le prêtre, puis offre le sacrifice que Moïse a ordonné, pour prouver à tous que tu es guérit. » 15 Cependant, la réputation de Jésus se répandait de plus en plus ; des foules nombreuses se rassemblaient pour l’entendre et se faire guérir de leurs maladies.
16 Mais Jésus se retirait dans des endroits isolés où il priait.Jésus guérit un homme paralysé

17 Un jour, Jésus était en train d’enseigner. Des Pharisiens et des maîtres de la loi étaient présents ; ils étaient venus de tous les villages de Galilée et de Judée, ainsi que de Jérusalem. La puissance du Seigneurt était avec Jésus et lui faisait guérir des malades. 18 Des gens arrivèrent, portant sur une civière un homme paralysé ; ils cherchaient à le faire entrer dans la maison et à le déposer devant Jésus. 19 Mais ils ne savaient par où l’introduire, à cause de la foule. Ils le montèrent alors sur le toit, firent une ouverture parmi les tuiles et le descendirent sur sa civière au milieu de l’assemblée, devant Jésus. 20 Quand Jésus vit leur foi, il dit au malade : « Mon ami, tes péchés te sont pardonnés. » 21 Les maîtres de la loi et les Pharisiens se mirent à penser : « Qui est cet homme qui fait insulte à Dieu ? Qui peut pardonner les péchés ? Dieu seul le peutt ! » 22 Jésus devina leurs pensées et leur dit : « Pourquoi avez-vous de telles pensées ? 23 Est-il plus facile de dire : “Tes péchés te sont pardonnés”, ou de dire : “Lève-toi et marche” ? 24 Mais je veux que vous le sachiez : le Fils de l’homme a le pouvoir sur la terre de pardonner les péchés. » Alors il adressa ces mots au paralysé : « Je te le dis, lève-toi, prends ta civière et rentre chez toi ! » 25 Aussitôt, l’homme se leva devant tout le monde, prit la civière sur laquelle il avait été couché et s’en alla chez lui en louant Dieu.
26 Tous furent frappés d’étonnement. Ils louaient Dieu, remplis de crainte, et disaient : « Nous avons vu aujourd’hui des choses extraordinaires ! »Jésus appelle Lévi

27 Après cela, Jésus sortit et vit un collecteur d’impôts, nommé Lévi, assis à son bureau. Jésus lui dit : « Suis-moi ! » 28 Lévi se leva, laissa tout et le suivit. 29 Puis Lévi lui offrit un grand repas dans sa maison ; beaucoup de collecteurs d’impôts et d’autres personnes étaient à table avec eux. 30 Les Pharisiens et les maîtres de la loi qui étaient de leur parti critiquaient cela ; ils dirent aux disciples de Jésus : « Pourquoi mangez-vous et buvez-vous avec les collecteurs d’impôts et autres gens de mauvaise réputationt ? » 31 Jésus leur répondit : « Les personnes en bonne santé n’ont pas besoin de médecin, ce sont les malades qui en ont besoin.
32 Je ne suis pas venu appeler ceux qui s’estiment justes, mais ceux qui se savent pécheurs pour qu’ils changent de comportement. »Jésus et le jeûne

33 Les Pharisiens dirent à Jésus : « Les disciples de Jean, de même que les nôtres, jeûnent souvent et font des prières ; mais tes disciples, eux, mangent et boivent. » 34 Jésus leur répondit : « Pensez-vous pouvoir obliger les invités d’une noce à ne pas manger pendant que le marié est avec eux ? Bien sûr que non !
35 Mais le temps viendra où le marié leur sera enlevé ; ces jours-là, ils jeûneront. »
36 Jésus leur dit aussi cette parabole : « Personne ne déchire une pièce d’un vêtement neuf pour réparer un vieux vêtement ; sinon, le vêtement neuf est déchiré et la pièce d’étoffe neuve ne s’accorde pas avec le vieux. 37 Et personne ne verse du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres ; sinon, le vin nouveau fait éclater les outres : il se répand et les outres sont perdues. 38 Mais non ! pour le vin nouveau, il faut des outres neuves ! 39 Et personne ne veut du vin nouveau après en avoir bu du vieux. On dit en effet : “Le vieux est meilleur.” »

1 Now it came to pass, while the multitude pressed upon him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;2 and he saw two boats standing by the lake: but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.3 And he entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the multitudes out of the boat.4 And when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.5 And Simon answered and said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing: but at thy word I will let down the nets.6 And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their nets were breaking;7 and they beckoned unto their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.8 But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.9 For he was amazed, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken;10 and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left all, and followed him.12 And it came to pass, while he was in one of the cities, behold, a man full of leprosy: and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.13 And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And straightway the leprosy departed from him.14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go thy way, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.15 But so much the more went abroad the report concerning him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities.16 But he withdrew himself in the deserts, and prayed.17 And it came to pass on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.18 And behold, men bring on a bed a man that was palsied: and they sought to bring him in, and to lay him before him.19 And not finding by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his couch into the midst before Jesus.20 And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?22 But Jesus perceiving their reasonings, answered and said unto them, Why reason ye in your hearts?23 Which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins (he said unto him that was palsied), I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go unto thy house.25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his house, glorifying God.26 And amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God; and they were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to-day.27 And after these things he went forth, and beheld a publican, named Levi, sitting at the place of toll, and said unto him, Follow me.28 And he forsook all, and rose up and followed him.29 And Levi made him a great feast in his house: and there was a great multitude of publicans and of others that were sitting at meat with them.30 And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners?31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are in health have no need of a physician; but they that are sick.32 I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.33 And they said unto him, The disciples of John fast often, and make supplications; likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink.34 And Jesus said unto them, Can ye make the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?35 But the days will come; and when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, then will they fast in those days.36 And he spake also a parable unto them: No man rendeth a piece from a new garment and putteth it upon an old garment; else he will rend the new, and also the piece from the new will not agree with the old.37 And no man putteth new wine into old wine-skins; else the new wine will burst the skins, and itself will be spilled, and the skins will perish.38 But new wine must be put into fresh wine-skins.39 And no man having drunk old wine desireth new; for he saith, The old is good.
