Fiskfångsten. De första lärjungarna
1 En gång när han stod vid Gennesaretsjön och folket trängde på för att höra Guds ord 2 fick han se två båtar ligga vid stranden; fiskarna hade gått ur för att skölja näten. 3 Han steg i den ena båten, som tillhörde Simon, och bad honom att ro ut ett litet stycke. Sedan satte han sig ner och undervisade folket från båten. 4 När han hade slutat tala sade han till Simon: ”Ro ut på djupt vatten och lägg ut näten där.” 5 Simon svarade: ”Mästare, vi har hållit på hela natten utan att få något. Men eftersom du säger det skall jag lägga ut näten.” 6 Och de gjorde så och drog ihop en väldig mängd fisk. Näten var nära att brista, 7 och de vinkade åt sina kamrater i den andra båten att komma och hjälpa till. De kom, och man fick så mycket fisk i båda båtarna att de höll på att sjunka. 8 Då kastade sig Simon Petrus ner vid Jesu knän och sade: ”Lämna mig, herre, jag är en syndare.” 9 Ty han och de som var med honom greps av bävan när de såg all fisken de hade fångat — 10 likaså Jakob och Johannes, Sebedaios söner, som hörde till samma fiskelag som Simon. Men Jesus sade till Simon: ”Var inte rädd. Från denna stund skall du fånga människor.”
11 Då rodde de i land, lämnade allt och följde honom.En spetälsk blir ren
12 När han var i en av städerna stod där en man som var full av spetälska. Han fick se Jesus och kastade sig till marken framför honom och bad: ”Herre, vill du, så kan du göra mig ren.” 13 Jesus sträckte ut handen, rörde vid honom och sade: ”Jag vill. Bli ren!” Genast försvann spetälskan.
14 Han förbjöd honom att tala om det för någon. ”Men gå och visa dig för prästen och ge det offer för din rening som Mose har bestämt. Det blir ett vittnesbörd för dem.”
15 Emellertid spred sig ryktet om honom alltmer, och stora skaror samlades för att lyssna på honom och bli botade från sina sjukdomar.
16 Men han hade dragit sig undan till öde trakter för att be.En lam man i Kafarnaum botas
17 En dag höll han på att undervisa, och där satt fariseer och laglärare, som hade kommit från varenda by i Galileen och Judeen och från Jerusalem. Och han hade Herrens kraft så att han kunde bota. 18 Då kom det några bärande på en bår med en man som var förlamad, och de försökte komma in med honom och sätta ner honom framför Jesus. 19 Då de inte kunde ta sig in med honom i trängseln gick de upp på taket, tog bort teglet och firade ner honom på hans bår mitt framför Jesus. 20 När han såg deras tro sade han: ”Min vän, du har fått förlåtelse för dina synder.” 21 Då tänkte de skriftlärda och fariseerna: ”Vad är det för en hädare! Vem kan förlåta synder utom Gud?” 22 Men Jesus förstod vad de hade för tankar och sade till dem: ”Vad är det ni tänker i era hjärtan? 23 Vilket är lättast, att säga: Du har fått förlåtelse för dina synder, eller att säga: Stig upp och gå? 24 Men för att ni skall veta att Människosonen har makt här på jorden att förlåta synder, säger jag dig” — och nu talade han till den lame — ”stig upp, ta din bår och gå hem.” 25 Genast reste han sig, mitt för ögonen på dem, tog båren han hade legat på och gick hem, allt medan han prisade Gud.
26 Alla slogs av häpnad och prisade Gud, och de fylldes av fruktan och sade: ”Det är otroligt, det vi har sett i dag.”Tullindrivaren Levi kallas
27 Sedan gick Jesus därifrån och fick då se en tullindrivare vid namn Levi sitta utanför tullhuset. Han sade till honom: ”Följ mig!”
28 Levi lämnade allt och steg upp och följde honom.
29 Levi gav en fest för Jesus i sitt hus, och där var en mängd tullindrivare och andra, som låg till bords med dem. 30 Men fariseerna och särskilt de skriftlärda bland dem blev förargade och sade till hans lärjungar: ”Hur kan ni äta och dricka tillsammans med tullindrivare och syndare?” 31 Jesus svarade: ”Det är inte de friska som behöver läkare, utan de sjuka.
32 Jag har inte kommit för att kalla rättfärdiga till omvändelse, utan syndare.”Bröllopsgästerna fastar inte
33 De sade till honom: ”Johannes lärjungar fastar ofta och ber, och det gör också fariseernas, men dina, de äter och dricker.” 34 Jesus svarade: ”Inte kan ni väl få bröllopsgästerna att fasta så länge brudgummen är hos dem? 35 Men det skall komma en tid då brudgummen tas ifrån dem, och när den tiden är inne kommer de att fasta.” 36 Han gav dem också en liknelse: ”Ingen river ut en bit ur ett nytt plagg och sätter den på ett gammalt. För dels rivs då det nya sönder, och dels passar inte lappen från det nya på det gamla. 37 Ingen häller nytt vin i gamla vinsäckar, för då sprängs säckarna av det nya vinet, och vinet rinner ut och säckarna blir förstörda. 38 Nej, nytt vin skall hällas i nya säckar. 39 Ingen som har druckit gammalt vin vill ha av det nya; han tycker det gamla är bättre.”

Jesus Chooses His First Disciples
(Matthew 4.18-22; Mark 1.16-20)
1 t Jesus was standing on the shore of Lake Gennesaret, t teaching the people as they crowded around him to hear God's message. 2 Near the shore he saw two boats left there by some fishermen who had gone to wash their nets.
3 Jesus got into the boat that belonged to Simon and asked him to row it out a little way from the shore. Then Jesus sat downt in the boat to teach the crowd.
4 When Jesus had finished speaking, he told Simon, “Row the boat out into the deep water and let your nets down to catch some fish.”
5 t “Master,” Simon answered, “we have worked hard all night long and have not caught a thing. But if you tell me to, I will let the nets down.” 6 t They did this and caught so many fish that their nets began ripping apart.
7 Then they signaled for their partners in the other boat to come and help them. The men came, and together they filled the two boats so full that they both began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw this happen, he knelt down in front of Jesus and said, “Lord, don't come near me! I am a sinner.” 9 Peter and everyone with him were completely surprised at all the fish they had caught.
10 His partners James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were surprised too.
Jesus told Simon, “Don't be afraid! From now on you will bring in people instead of fish.”
11 The men pulled their boats up on the shore. Then they left everything and went with Jesus.Jesus Heals a Man
(Matthew 8.1-4; Mark 1.40-45)
12 Jesus came to a town where there was a man who had leprosy.t When the man saw Jesus, he knelt down to the ground in front of Jesus and begged, “Lord, you have the power to make me well, if only you wanted to.”
13 Jesus put his hand on him and said, “I want to! Now you are well.” At once the man's leprosy disappeared.
14 t Jesus told him, “Don't tell anyone about this, but go and show yourself to the priest. Offer a gift to the priest, just as Moses commanded, and everyone will know that you have been healed.”t
15 News about Jesus kept spreading. Large crowds came to listen to him teach and to be healed of their diseases.

(Matthew 9.1-8; Mark 2.1-12)
17 One day some Pharisees and experts in the Law of Moses sat listening to Jesus teach. They had come from every village in Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem.
God had given Jesus the power to heal the sick, 18 and some people came carrying a man on a mat because he could not walk. They tried to take him inside the house and put him in front of Jesus.
19 But because of the crowd, they could not get him to Jesus. So they went up on the roof, t where they removed some tiles and let the mat down in the middle of the room.
20 When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the man, “My friend, your sins are forgiven.”
21 The Pharisees and the experts began arguing, “Jesus must think he is God! Only God can forgive sins.”
22 Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said, “Why are you thinking this? 23 Is it easier for me to tell this man that his sins are forgiven or to tell him to get up and walk?
24 But now you will see that the Son of Man has the right to forgive sins here on earth.” Jesus then said to the man, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk home.”
25 At once the man stood up in front of everyone. He picked up his mat and went home, giving thanks to God.
26 Everyone was amazed and praised God. What they saw surprised them, and they said, “We have seen a great miracle today!”Jesus Chooses Levi
(Matthew 9.9-13; Mark 2.13-17)
27 Later, Jesus went out and saw a tax collectort named Levi sitting at the place for paying taxes. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
28 Levi left everything and went with Jesus.
29 In his home Levi gave a big dinner for Jesus. Many tax collectors and other guests were also there.
30 t The Pharisees and some of their teachers of the Law of Moses grumbled to Jesus' disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with these tax collectors and other sinners?”
31 Jesus answered, “Healthy people don't need a doctor, but sick people do.
32 I didn't come to invite good people to turn to God. I came to invite sinners.”People Ask about Going //without Eating
(Matthew 9.14-17; Mark 2.18-22)
33 Some people said to Jesus, “John's followers often pray and go without eating, t and so do the followers of the Pharisees. But your disciples never go without eating or drinking.”
34 Jesus told them, “The friends of a bridegroom don't go without eating while he is still with them.
35 But the time will come when he will be taken from them. Then they will go without eating.”
36 Jesus then told them these sayings:
No one uses a new piece of cloth to patch old clothes. The patch would shrink and make the hole even bigger.
37 No one pours new wine into old wineskins. The new wine would swell and burst the old skins.t Then the wine would be lost, and the skins would be ruined.
38 New wine must be put only into new wineskins.
39 No one wants new wine after drinking old wine. They say, “The old wine is better.”
