انتخاب شاگردان
(متّی 18:4-22؛ مرقس 16:1-20)
1 یک روز عیسی در كنار دریاچهٔ جنیسارت ایستاده بود و مردم به طرف او هجوم آورده بودند تا كلام خدا را از زبان او بشنوند. 2 عیسی ملاحظه كرد كه دو قایق در آنجا لنگر انداختهاند و ماهیگیران پیاده شده بودند تا تورهای خود را بشویند. 3 عیسی به یكی از قایقها كه متعلّق به شمعون بود سوار شد و از او تقاضا كرد كه كمی از ساحل دور شود و درحالیکه در قایق نشسته بود، به تعلیم مردم پرداخت. 4 در پایان صحبت به شمعون گفت: «به قسمتهای عمیق آب بران و تورهایتان را برای صید به آب بیندازید.» 5 شمعون جواب داد: «ای استاد، ما تمام شب زحمت كشیدیم و اصلاً چیزی نگرفتیم، امّا حالا كه تو میفرمایی، من تورها را میاندازم.» 6 آنها چنین كردند و آنقدر ماهی صید كردند كه نزدیک بود تورهایشان پاره شود. 7 پس به همكاران خود كه در قایق دیگر بودند اشاره كردند كه به كمک آنان بیایند. ایشان آمدند و هر دو قایق را از ماهی پر كردند به طوری که نزدیک بود غرق شوند. 8 وقتی شمعون پطرس متوجّه شد كه چه اتّفاقی افتاده است، پیش عیسی زانو زد و عرض كرد: «ای خداوند، از نزد من برو چون من خطاكارم.» 9 او و همهٔ همكارانش از صیدی كه شده بود، متحیّر بودند. 10 همكاران او یعقوب و یوحنا، پسران زِبدی نیز همان حال را داشتند. عیسی به شمعون فرمود: «نترس؛ از این پس مردم را صید خواهی كرد.»
11 به محض اینكه قایقها را به خشكی آوردند، همهچیز را رها كردند و به دنبال او رفتند.شفای یک جذامی
(متّی 1:8-4؛ مرقس 40:1-45)
12 روزی عیسی در شهری بود، از قضا مردی جذامی در آنجا حضور داشت. وقتی آن جذامی عیسی را دید به پای او افتاد و از او كمک خواسته گفت: «ای آقا، اگر بخواهی میتوانی مرا پاک كنی.» 13 عیسی دست خود را دراز كرد، او را لمس نمود و فرمود: «میخواهم، پاک شو.» فوراً جذام او بر طرف شد. 14 عیسی به او امر فرمود كه این موضوع را به كسی نگوید و افزود: «امّا برو خود را به كاهن نشان بده و بهخاطر پاک شدنت قربانیای را كه موسی معیّن نموده است، تقدیم كن تا برای همه مدركی باشد.» 15 امّا عیسی بیش از پیش در تمام آن نواحی شهرت یافت و عدّهٔ زیادی گرد آمدند تا سخنان او را بشنوند و از ناخوشیهای خود شفا یابند،
16 امّا او به خارج از شهر میرفت تا در تنهایی دعا كند.شفای یک مفلوج
(متّی 1:9-8؛ مرقس 1:2-12)
17 روزی عیسی مشغول تعلیم بود و پیروان فرقهٔ فریسی و آموزگاران شریعت كه از تمام روستاهای جلیل و از یهودیه و اورشلیم آمده بودند، در اطراف او نشسته بودند و او با قدرت خداوند بیماران را شفا میداد. 18 در این هنگام چند مرد دیده شدند كه مفلوجی را روی تختی میآوردند. آنها سعی میکردند او را به داخل بیاورند و در برابر عیسی به زمین بگذارند. 19 امّا به علّت كثرت جمعیّت نتوانستند راهی پیدا كنند كه او را به داخل آوردند. بنابراین به بام رفتند و او را با تشک از میان سفالهای سقف پایین گذاشتند و در وسط جمعیّت در برابر عیسی قرار دادند. 20 عیسی وقتی ایمان آنها را دید فرمود: «ای دوست، گناهان تو بخشیده شد.» 21 علما و فریسیان به یكدیگر میگفتند: «این كیست كه حرفهای كفرآمیز میزند؟ چه کسی جز خدا میتواند گناهان را ببخشد؟» 22 امّا عیسی افكار آنان را درک كرد و در جواب فرمود: «چرا چنین افكاری را در ذهن خود میپرورانید؟ 23 آیا گفتن اینكه گناهان تو بخشیده شد، آسانتر است یا گفتن اینكه بلند شو و راه برو؟ 24 امّا برای اینكه بدانید پسر انسان در روی زمین قدرت و اختیار آمرزیدن گناهان را دارد، به آن مرد مفلوج گفت: به تو میگویم بلند شو، تشک خود را بردار و به خانه برو.» 25 او فوراً پیش چشم آنان روی پاهای خود برخاست، تشكی را كه روی آن خوابیده بود برداشت و خدا را حمدگویان به خانه رفت.
26 همه غرق در حیرت شدند و خدا را حمد كردند و با ترس میگفتند: «امروز چیزهای عجیبی دیدیم.»دعوت لاوی
(متّی 9:9-13؛ مرقس 13:2-17)
27 بعد از آنكه عیسی بیرون رفت متوجّه باجگیری به نام لاوی شد كه در محل دریافت باج نشسته بود. به او فرمود: «به دنبال من بیا.» 28 او برخاست، همهچیز را واگذاشت و به دنبال او رفت. 29 لاوی برای عیسی در خانهٔ خود مهمانی بزرگی ترتیب داد. عدّهٔ زیادی از باجگیران و اشخاص دیگر با عیسی و شاگردانش سر سفره نشسته بودند. 30 فریسیان و علمای آنها از شاگردان عیسی ایراد گرفتند و گفتند: «چرا شما با باجگیران و خطاكاران میخورید و مینوشید؟» 31 عیسی به آنان جواب داد: «تندرستان احتیاج به طبیب ندارند بلكه بیماران.
32 من نیامدهام تا پرهیزکاران را به توبه دعوت كنم بلكه آمدهام تا خطاكاران را دعوت نمایم.»دربارهٔ روزه
(متّی 14:9-17؛ مرقس 18:2-22)
33 آنان به او گفتند: «شاگردان یحیی اغلب اوقات روزه میگیرند و نماز میگزارند، شاگردان فریسیان هم، چنین میکنند، امّا شاگردان تو میخورند و مینوشند.» 34 عیسی به ایشان پاسخ داد «آیا شما میتوانید دوستان داماد را درحالیکه داماد با ایشان است به روزه گرفتن مجبور كنید؟ 35 امّا زمانی میآید كه داماد از ایشان گرفته خواهد شد، در آن روزها ایشان نیز روزه خواهند گرفت.» 36 همچنین برای آنان این مَثَل را بیان فرمود: «هیچکس از یک لباس نو تکهای پاره نمیکند تا با آن لباس كهنهای را وصله كند. اگر چنین كند، هم آن لباس نو پاره میشود و هم وصلهٔ نو مناسب لباس كهنه نیست. 37 همچنین هیچکس شراب تازه را در مشكهای كهنه نمیریزد. اگر بریزد، شراب تازه مشکها را میتركاند، شراب به هدر میرود و مشكها نیز از بین خواهند رفت. 38 آری، باید شراب تازه را در مشكهای نو ریخت. 39 هیچکس پس از نوشیدن شراب كهنه، شراب تازه نمیخواهد چون میگوید كه شراب كهنه بهتر است.»

Jesus Chooses His First Disciples
(Matthew 4.18-22; Mark 1.16-20)
1 t Jesus was standing on the shore of Lake Gennesaret, t teaching the people as they crowded around him to hear God's message. 2 Near the shore he saw two boats left there by some fishermen who had gone to wash their nets.
3 Jesus got into the boat that belonged to Simon and asked him to row it out a little way from the shore. Then Jesus sat downt in the boat to teach the crowd.
4 When Jesus had finished speaking, he told Simon, “Row the boat out into the deep water and let your nets down to catch some fish.”
5 t “Master,” Simon answered, “we have worked hard all night long and have not caught a thing. But if you tell me to, I will let the nets down.” 6 t They did this and caught so many fish that their nets began ripping apart.
7 Then they signaled for their partners in the other boat to come and help them. The men came, and together they filled the two boats so full that they both began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw this happen, he knelt down in front of Jesus and said, “Lord, don't come near me! I am a sinner.” 9 Peter and everyone with him were completely surprised at all the fish they had caught.
10 His partners James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were surprised too.
Jesus told Simon, “Don't be afraid! From now on you will bring in people instead of fish.”
11 The men pulled their boats up on the shore. Then they left everything and went with Jesus.Jesus Heals a Man
(Matthew 8.1-4; Mark 1.40-45)
12 Jesus came to a town where there was a man who had leprosy.t When the man saw Jesus, he knelt down to the ground in front of Jesus and begged, “Lord, you have the power to make me well, if only you wanted to.”
13 Jesus put his hand on him and said, “I want to! Now you are well.” At once the man's leprosy disappeared.
14 t Jesus told him, “Don't tell anyone about this, but go and show yourself to the priest. Offer a gift to the priest, just as Moses commanded, and everyone will know that you have been healed.”t
15 News about Jesus kept spreading. Large crowds came to listen to him teach and to be healed of their diseases.
16 But Jesus would often go to some place where he could be alone and pray.Jesus Heals a Man //Who Could Not Walk
(Matthew 9.1-8; Mark 2.1-12)
17 One day some Pharisees and experts in the Law of Moses sat listening to Jesus teach. They had come from every village in Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem.
God had given Jesus the power to heal the sick, 18 and some people came carrying a man on a mat because he could not walk. They tried to take him inside the house and put him in front of Jesus.
19 But because of the crowd, they could not get him to Jesus. So they went up on the roof, t where they removed some tiles and let the mat down in the middle of the room.
20 When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the man, “My friend, your sins are forgiven.”
21 The Pharisees and the experts began arguing, “Jesus must think he is God! Only God can forgive sins.”
22 Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said, “Why are you thinking this? 23 Is it easier for me to tell this man that his sins are forgiven or to tell him to get up and walk?
24 But now you will see that the Son of Man has the right to forgive sins here on earth.” Jesus then said to the man, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk home.”
25 At once the man stood up in front of everyone. He picked up his mat and went home, giving thanks to God.
26 Everyone was amazed and praised God. What they saw surprised them, and they said, “We have seen a great miracle today!”Jesus Chooses Levi
(Matthew 9.9-13; Mark 2.13-17)
27 Later, Jesus went out and saw a tax collectort named Levi sitting at the place for paying taxes. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
28 Levi left everything and went with Jesus.
29 In his home Levi gave a big dinner for Jesus. Many tax collectors and other guests were also there.
30 t The Pharisees and some of their teachers of the Law of Moses grumbled to Jesus' disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with these tax collectors and other sinners?”
31 Jesus answered, “Healthy people don't need a doctor, but sick people do.
32 I didn't come to invite good people to turn to God. I came to invite sinners.”People Ask about Going //without Eating
(Matthew 9.14-17; Mark 2.18-22)
33 Some people said to Jesus, “John's followers often pray and go without eating, t and so do the followers of the Pharisees. But your disciples never go without eating or drinking.”
34 Jesus told them, “The friends of a bridegroom don't go without eating while he is still with them.
35 But the time will come when he will be taken from them. Then they will go without eating.”
36 Jesus then told them these sayings:
No one uses a new piece of cloth to patch old clothes. The patch would shrink and make the hole even bigger.
37 No one pours new wine into old wineskins. The new wine would swell and burst the old skins.t Then the wine would be lost, and the skins would be ruined.
38 New wine must be put only into new wineskins.
39 No one wants new wine after drinking old wine. They say, “The old wine is better.”
