Csodálatos halfogás
1 Egyszer, a Genezáreti-tó partján nagy tömeg vette körül Jézust, hogy Isten üzenetét hallgassák.
2 Jézus meglátott a parton két halászbárkát. A halászok éppen akkor szálltak partra, és a hálóikat mosták.
3 Jézus beszállt az egyik bárkába, amely Simoné volt. Megkérte Simont, hogy evezzen kissé beljebb a vízen. Majd leült a bárkában, és úgy tanította az embereket.
4 Miután befejezte, azt mondta Simonnak: „Evezzetek ki a mély vízre, és engedjétek le a hálóitokat halfogásra!”
5 Simon így válaszolt: „Mester, egész éjjel keményen dolgoztunk, de egyetlen halat sem nem fogtunk. A te szavadra mégis leeresztem a hálókat.”
6 Amikor ezt megtették, olyan sok halat fogtak, hogy a hálók majdnem szétszakadtak a nagy zsákmány miatt.
7 Ezért intettek a másik hajóban lévő társaiknak, hogy jöjjenek, és segítsenek nekik. Azok jöttek is, és mindkét hajót úgy megtöltötték halakkal, hogy majdnem elsüllyedtek.
8 Amikor Simon Péter látta a nagy zsákmányt, Jézus lábaihoz borult: „Menj el tőlem, Uram, mert én bűnös vagyok!” - mondta.
9 Ezt azért mondta, mert a társaival együtt megrémült a nagy halfogás miatt.
10 Ugyanígy megdöbbent Jakab és János is, Zebedeus fiai, akik Simon társai voltak.
Jézus ekkor azt mondta Simonnak: „Ne félj, mostantól kezdve nem halakat, hanem embereket fogsz összegyűjteni.”
11 Ekkor a halászok kieveztek a partra, otthagytak mindent, csatlakoztak Jézushoz, és követték őt.
Egy leprás meggyógyítása
12 Az egyik városban, ahol Jézus járt, élt egy leprás férfi. Amikor Jézust meglátta, arcra borult előtte, és így könyörgött neki: „Uram, ha akarod, te meg tudsz gyógyítani!”
13 Jézus kinyújtotta a kezét, megérintette, és válaszolt: „Igen, akarom! Gyógyulj meg!” Ekkor a férfiról azonnal eltűnt a lepra.
14 Jézus megparancsolta neki, hogy erről senkinek se beszéljen, és azt mondta: „Menj, és mutasd meg magad a papnak,t és vidd fel az áldozatot gyógyulásodért, ahogy Mózes parancsolta! Ez lesz a bizonyíték mindenki számára, hogy meggyógyultál.”
15 De a Jézusról szóló hírek mégis egyre jobban terjedtek, és tömegek mentek hozzá, hogy hallgassák, és általa meggyógyuljanak betegségeikből.
16 Jézus azonban gyakran félrevonult valami elhagyatott helyre, hogy egyedül imádkozzon.
Egy béna gyógyulása
17 Egyik nap, amikor Jézus éppen tanított, farizeusok és törvénytanítók is hallgatták őt, akik Galilea és Júdea különböző városaiból és Jeruzsálemből érkeztek. Az Úr ereje volt Jézussal, hogy gyógyítson.
18 Eközben néhány ember érkezett, akik hordágyon egy megbénult férfit akartak Jézus elé vinni.
19 A nagy tömeg miatt azonban nem tudtak a közelébe férkőzni. Ezért felmentek a tetőre, és onnan eresztették le a hordágyat a megbontott tetőn keresztül Jézus elé, a középre.
20 Jézus, amikor látta hitüket, a beteghez fordult: „Barátom, a bűneid meg vannak bocsátva.”
21 A törvénytanítók és farizeusok ezt mondták magukban: „Kicsoda ez, hogy így megsérti Istent?! Hiszen a bűnöket egyedül Isten bocsáthatja meg!”
22 De Jézus átlátott rajtuk, és így felelt meg nekik: „Miért gondolkodtok így?
23 Szerintetek melyik könnyebb, ha azt mondom a bénának: bűneid meg vannak bocsátva! — vagy azt: kelj fel, és menj el!?
24 Győződjetek meg róla: az Emberfia felhatalmazást kapott, hogy a bűnöket itt a földön megbocsássa!” Ekkor ismét a bénához fordult: „Én mondom neked, kelj fel, fogd a hordágyadat, és menj haza!”
25 Az pedig azonnal felállt, felvette a hordágyát, és Istent dicsőítve hazament.
26 Ezen mindenki elcsodálkozott, és dicsérték Istent. Csodálkozva és félelemmel telve mondták: „Milyen csodálatos dolgokat láttunk ma!”
Lévi, vagyis Máté Jézus tanítványa lesz
27 Jézus ezután továbbment, és meglátott egy Lévi nevű vámszedőt, aki a vámnál ült. Megszólította: „Kövess engem!”
28 Lévi ekkor otthagyott mindent, és Jézushoz csatlakozott.
29 Ezután Lévi nagy vendégséget rendezett a házában Jézusnak, ahová sok vámszedőt, és másokat is meghívott.
30 De a farizeusok és törvénytanítók felháborodva kérdezték Jézus tanítványaitól: „Miért esztek együtt vámszedőkkel és mindenféle egyéb bűnösökkel?”
31 Jézus felelt meg nekik: „Aki egészséges, annak nincs szüksége orvosra! Csak a betegeknek kell az orvos segítsége.
32 Nem azért jöttem, hogy az igazakat, hanem hogy a bűnösöket hívjam, hogy szívük és életük megváltozzon.”
A böjtölésről
33 A farizeusok ezt mondták Jézusnak: „János tanítványai gyakran böjtölnek és imádkoznak, és ugyanezt teszik a mi tanítványaink is. De a te tanítványaid mindig csak esznek-isznak.”
34 Jézus így válaszolt: „A lakodalomban böjtölnek-e a vőlegény vendégei, amíg ő velük van?!
35 De eljön majd az idő, amikor a vőlegényt elveszik tőlük, akkor majd böjtölnek.”
36 Elmondott nekik egy történetet is: „Senki nem tép ki egy darabot valami új ruhából, hogy azzal foltozzon be egy régit. Ha mégis, akkor tönkreteszi az új ruhát, és a régi ruhához sem illik az újból való folt.
37 Senki sem tölt új bort a régi bortömlőbe11 mert az új bor szétszakítja és tönkreteszi a tömlőt, meg a bor is elfolyik.
38 Az új bort mindig új tömlőbe kell tölteni.
39 Aki kiforrott, megérlelt bort iszik, annak nem kell az újbor. Miért? Mert azt mondja, hogy az érett jobb.”
Luke 5
The First Disciples
1 Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;2 and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake; but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.3 And He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little way from the land. And He sat down and began teaching the people from the boat.4 When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch."5 Simon answered and said, "Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets."6 When they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break;7 so they signaled to their partners in the other boat for them to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats, so that they began to sink.8 But when Simon Peter saw that, he fell down at Jesus' feet, saying, "Go away from me Lord, for I am a sinful man!"9 For amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken;10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not fear, from now on you will be catching men."11 When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him.
The Leper and the Paralytic
12 While He was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man covered with leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."13 And He stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." And immediately the leprosy left him.14 And He ordered him to tell no one, "But go and show yourself to the priest and make an offering for your cleansing, just as Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."15 But the news about Him was spreading even farther, and large crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses.16 But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.
17 One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.18 And some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him.19 But not finding any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his stretcher, into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus.20 Seeing their faith, He said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven you."21 The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?"22 But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, answered and said to them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts?23 Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins have been forgiven you,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'?24 But, so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,"-He said to the paralytic-"I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher and go home."25 Immediately he got up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God.26 They were all struck with astonishment and began glorifying God; and they were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen remarkable things today."
Call of Levi (Matthew)
27 After that He went out and noticed a tax collector named Levi sitting in the tax booth, and He said to him, "Follow Me."28 And he left everything behind, and got up and began to follow Him.
29 And Levi gave a big reception for Him in his house; and there was a great crowd of tax collectors and other people who were reclining at the table with them.30 The Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling at His disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?"31 And Jesus answered and said to them, "It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick.32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."
33 And they said to Him, "The disciples of John often fast and offer prayers, the disciples of the Pharisees also do the same, but Yours eat and drink."34 And Jesus said to them, "You cannot make the attendants of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them, can you?35 But the days will come; and when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days."36 And He was also telling them a parable: "No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and puts it on an old garment; otherwise he will both tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled out, and the skins will be ruined.38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.39 And no one, after drinking old wine wishes for new; for he says, 'The old is good enough.'"
