LUCAS 5

Gintawag ni Jesus ang iya Nahauna nga mga Sumulunod

(Mat. 4:18-22; Mar. 1:16-20)

1  Isa sadto ka adlaw, nagatindog si Jesus sa higad sang Dagat + 1a Dagat: Ang tubig nga ginmitlang diri ginatawag sa English nga ukon sa iban nga Bisaya, . f sang Genesaret. + 1b Dagat sang Genesaret: Amo man ini ang Dagat sang Galilea. f Nagdinaguso sa iya ang madamo nga mga tawo tungod nga luyag nila magpamati sang pulong sang Dios.2 May nakita si Jesus nga duha ka sakayan nga ara sa higad kag ang mangingisda nakapanaog na sa paghugas sang ila mga pukot.

3 Ang isa ka sakayan iya ni Simon. Ginsakyan ini ni Jesus kag ginpangabay niya si Simon nga itulod diutay ang sakayan palayo sa higad. Nagpungko si Jesus kag nagpanudlo sa mga tawo.
4 Pagkatapos niya panudlo, nagsiling siya kay Simon,5 Nagsiling si Simon kay Jesus,6 Nagpalawod sila kag ginladlad nila ang ila mga pukot. Madamo gid nga mga isda ang ila nakuha kag daw magisi na ang ila mga pukot.7  Gani ginpaypay nila ang ila mga kaupod sa isa ka sakayan agod buligan sila. Pag-abot sang ila mga kaupod ginpuno nila sang isda ang duha ka sakayan, kag daw malunod sila tungod sa kadamuon sang isda .8 Pagkakita sadto ni Simon Pedro, nagluhod siya kay Jesus kag nagsiling,9 Kay natingala gid si Simon pati ang iya mga kaupdanan tungod sa kadamuon sang isda nga ila nakuha.10 Natingala man ang mga kasusyo ni Simon nga si Santiago kag si Juan nga mga anak ni Zebedee. Dayon nagsiling si Jesus kay Simon,

11 Sang napahigad na nila ang ila mga sakayan, ginbayaan nila ang tanan kag nagsunod kay Jesus.

Gin-ayo ni Jesus ang Tawo nga May Delikado nga Balatian sa Panit

(Mat. 8:1-4; Mar. 1:40-45)

12  Sang didto si Jesus sa isa ka banwa, may tawo didto nga ang iya lawas puno sang delikado nga balatian sa panit. + 12a delikado nga balatian sa panit: Tan-awa ang sa 4:27. f Pagkakita niya kay Jesus nagpalapit siya kag nagluhod nga nagapakitluoy,13 Dayon gintandog siya ni Jesus nga nagasiling, Sa gilayon nadula ang iya balatian sa panit.14 Pagkatapos ginmanduan siya ni Jesus,15 Bisan amo ato ang ginmando sa tawo naglapnag gihapon ang balita parte kay Jesus, kag madamo gid ang mga tawo nga nagtilipon sa pagpamati sa iya kag sa pagpabulong sang ila mga balatian.

16 Pero permi nagakadto si Jesus sa kamingawan kag nagapangamuyo didto.

Gin-ayo ni Jesus ang Tawo nga Paralitiko

(Mat. 9:1-8; Mar. 2:1-12)

17 Isa ka adlaw sang si Jesus nagapanudlo, may mga Pariseo kag mga manunudlo sang Kasuguan nga nagapungko malapit sa iya. Ini nga mga tawo naghalin pa sa nagkalain-lain nga mga baryo sang Galilea kag Judea, kag pati sa Jerusalem. Ara kay Jesus ang gahom sang Ginoo sa pag-ayo sang mga masakiton.18 May mga tawo nga nag-abot nga nagatuwang sang isa ka tawo nga paralitiko. Ginhimulatan nila nga dal-on siya kay Jesus sa sulod sang balay.19 Pero tungod sa kadamuon sang mga tawo wala gid sila sing may maagyan pasulod. Gani nagsaka sila sa atop sang balay kag gin-guhaban nila ang atop. Pagkatapos gintunton nila ang paralitiko nga ara sa higdaan sa atubangan ni Jesus.

20  Pagkakita ni Jesus nga may pagtuo sila sa iya , nagsiling siya sa paralitiko ,
21 Ang mga Pariseo kag ang mga manunudlo sang Kasuguan nagsiling sa ila kaugalingon,22 Nahibaluan ni Jesus ang ila ginahunahuna, gani nagsiling siya sa ila,23 Diin bala ang mas mahapos, ang magsiling, ukon ang magsiling, ?24  Karon pamatud-an ko sa inyo paagi sa pag-ayo sa sini nga paralitiko nga ako nga Anak sang Tawo may gahom diri sa duta sa pagpatawad sang mga sala." Dayon nagsiling siya sa paralitiko,25 Sa gilayon nagbangon ang paralitiko sa atubangan nila. Dayon gindala niya ang iya hiligdaan kag nagpauli nga nagadayaw sa Dios.

26 Natingala gid ang tanan nga tawo didto. Gindayaw nila ang Dios nga may kahadlok. Siling nila,

Gintawag ni Jesus si Levi

(Mat. 9:9-13; Mar. 2:13-17)

27 Pagkatapos sadto, naghalin si Jesus didto kag nakita niya ang manugsukot sang buhis nga si Levi nga nagapungko sa balayaran sang buhis. Nagsiling si Jesus sa iya,

28 Nagtindog si Levi, ginbayaan niya ang tanan kag nagsunod kay Jesus.
29 Dayon naghiwat si Levi sang dako nga punsyon para kay Jesus didto sa iya balay. Madamo nga mga manugsukot sang buhis kag iban pa nga mga tawo ang nagtambong nga nangin kaupod nila sa pagkaon.30 Pagkakita sini sang mga Pariseo kag sang ila mga kaupod nga mga manunudlo sang Kasuguan nagreklamo sila sa mga sumulunod ni Jesus. Siling nila,31 Si Jesus ang nagsabat sa ila,

32  Wala ako nagkadto diri sa pagtawag sa mga nagakilala nga sila matarong, kundi sa mga makasasala agod maghinulsol sila."

Ang Pamangkot Parte sa Pagpuasa

(Mat. 9:14-17; Mar. 2:18-22)

33 May mga tawo didto nga nagsiling kay Jesus,34 Nagsabat si Jesus sa ila,

35 Pero magaabot ang tion nga ang nobyo kuhaon sa ila, kag amo na ina ang ila pagpuasa."
36 Ginsugiran pa gid sila ni Jesus sang mga paanggid,37 Indi man maayo nga isulod ang bag-o nga bino sa daan nga suludlan nga panit. Kay mabusdik ang suludlan kag mausik ang bino, kag ang suludlan indi na mapuslan.38  Sa baylo, ginasulod ang bag-o nga bino sa bag-o nga suludlan nga panit." + 36-38 Nagsugid si Jesus sina nga mga paanggid agod itudlo sa ila nga indi mahimo nga simpunon ang iya mga pagpanudlo kag ang daan nga mga pagpanudlo sang mga Judio. f 39  it Nagdugang pa gid si Jesus sang isa pa ka paanggid,

Luke 5

Push Out into Deep Water

1-3 Once when he was standing on the shore of Lake Gennesaret, the crowd was pushing in on him to better hear the Word of God. He noticed two boats tied up. The fishermen had just left them and were out scrubbing their nets. He climbed into the boat that was Simon's and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Sitting there, using the boat for a pulpit, he taught the crowd.

4 When he finished teaching, he said to Simon, "Push out into deep water and let your nets out for a catch."

5-7 Simon said, "Master, we've been fishing hard all night and haven't caught even a minnow. But if you say so, I'll let out the nets." It was no sooner said than done—a huge haul of fish, straining the nets past capacity. They waved to their partners in the other boat to come help them. They filled both boats, nearly swamping them with the catch.

8-10 Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell to his knees before Jesus. "Master, leave. I'm a sinner and can't handle this holiness. Leave me to myself." When they pulled in that catch of fish, awe overwhelmed Simon and everyone with him. It was the same with James and John, Zebedee's sons, coworkers with Simon.

11 Jesus said to Simon, "There is nothing to fear. From now on you'll be fishing for men and women." They pulled their boats up on the beach, left them, nets and all, and followed him.

Invitation to a Changed Life

12 One day in one of the villages there was a man covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus he fell down before him in prayer and said, "If you want to, you can cleanse me."

13 Jesus put out his hand, touched him, and said, "I want to. Be clean." Then and there his skin was smooth, the leprosy gone.

14-16 Jesus instructed him, "Don't talk about this all over town. Just quietly present your healed self to the priest, along with the offering ordered by Moses. Your cleansed and obedient life, not your words, will bear witness to what I have done." But the man couldn't keep it to himself, and the word got out. Soon a large crowd of people had gathered to listen and be healed of their ailments. As often as possible Jesus withdrew to out-of-the-way places for prayer.

17 One day as he was teaching, Pharisees and religion teachers were sitting around. They had come from nearly every village in Galilee and Judea, even as far away as Jerusalem, to be there. The healing power of God was on him.

18-20 Some men arrived carrying a paraplegic on a stretcher. They were looking for a way to get into the house and set him before Jesus. When they couldn't find a way in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof, removed some tiles, and let him down in the middle of everyone, right in front of Jesus. Impressed by their bold belief, he said, "Friend, I forgive your sins."

21 That set the religion scholars and Pharisees buzzing. "Who does he think he is? That's blasphemous talk! God and only God can forgive sins."

22-26 Jesus knew exactly what they were thinking and said, "Why all this gossipy whispering? Which is simpler: to say 'I forgive your sins,' or to say 'Get up and start walking'? Well, just so it's clear that I'm the Son of Man and authorized to do either, or both. . . ." He now spoke directly to the paraplegic: "Get up. Take your bedroll and go home." Without a moment's hesitation, he did it—got up, took his blanket, and left for home, giving glory to God all the way. The people rubbed their eyes, incredulous—and then also gave glory to God. Awestruck, they said, "We've never seen anything like that!"

27-28 After this he went out and saw a man named Levi at his work collecting taxes. Jesus said, "Come along with me." And he did—walked away from everything and went with him.

29-30 Levi gave a large dinner at his home for Jesus. Everybody was there, tax men and other disreputable characters as guests at the dinner. The Pharisees and their religion scholars came to his disciples greatly offended. "What is he doing eating and drinking with crooks and 'sinners'?"

31-32 Jesus heard about it and spoke up, "Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? I'm here inviting outsiders, not insiders—an invitation to a changed life, changed inside and out."

33 They asked him, "John's disciples are well-known for keeping fasts and saying prayers. Also the Pharisees. But you seem to spend most of your time at parties. Why?"

34-35 Jesus said, "When you're celebrating a wedding, you don't skimp on the cake and wine. You feast. Later you may need to pull in your belt, but this isn't the time. As long as the bride and groom are with you, you have a good time. When the groom is gone, the fasting can begin. No one throws cold water on a friendly bonfire. This is Kingdom Come!

36-39 "No one cuts up a fine silk scarf to patch old work clothes; you want fabrics that match. And you don't put wine in old, cracked bottles; you get strong, clean bottles for your fresh vintage wine. And no one who has ever tasted fine aged wine prefers unaged wine."
