Lukáš 5

1 Stalo se pak, když se zástup na něj valil, aby slyšeli slovo Boží, že on stál podle jezera Genezaretského.2 I uzřel dvě lodí, any stojí u jezera, rybáři pak sstoupivše z nich, vypírali síti.3 I vstoupiv na jednu z těch lodí, kteráž byla Šimonova, prosil ho, aby od země odvezl maličko. A posadiv se, učil z lodí zástupy.4 A když přestal mluviti, dí k Šimonovi: Vez na hlubinu, a rozestřete síti své k lovení ryb.5 I odpověděv Šimon, řekl jemu: Mistře, přes celou noc pracovavše, nic jsme nepopadli, ale k slovu tvému rozestru sít.6 A když to učinili, zahrnuli množství veliké ryb, takže se trhala sít jejich.7 I ponukli tovaryšů, kteříž byli na druhé lodí, aby přišli a pomohli jim. I přišli a naplnili obě lodí, takže se téměř pohřižovaly.8 To uzřev Šimon Petr, padl k nohám Ježíšovým, řka: Odejdi ode mne, Pane, neboť jsem člověk hříšný.9 Hrůza zajisté byla jej obklíčila, i všecky, kteříž s ním byli, nad tím lovením ryb, kteréž byli popadli,10 A též Jakuba a Jana, syny Zebedeovy, kteříž byli tovaryši Šimonovi. I dí Šimonovi Ježíš: Nebojž se. Již od tohoto času lidi živé budeš loviti.11 A přivezše k břehu lodí, a všecko opustivše, šli za ním.

12 I stalo se, když byl v jednom městě, a aj, byl tam muž plný malomocenství. A uzřev Ježíše, padl na tvář, a prosil ho, řka: Pane, kdybys chtěl, můžeš mne očistiti.13 I vztáh Ježíš ruku, dotekl se ho, řka: Chci, buď čist. A hned odešlo od něho malomocenství.14 I přikázal jemu, aby žádnému nepravil, ale řekl mu: Odejda, ukaž se knězi, a obětuj za očištění své, jakož přikázal Mojžíš, na svědectví jim.15 Tedy rozhlašovala se více řeč o něm, a scházeli se zástupové mnozí, aby jej slyšeli, a uzdravováni byli od něho v svých nemocech.

16 On pak odcházel na pouště, a modlil se.17 I stalo se v jeden den, že on seděl uče, a seděli také tu i farizeové a Zákona učitelé, kteříž se byli sešli z každého městečka Galilejského a Judského i z Jeruzaléma, a moc Páně přítomná byla k uzdravování jich.

18 A aj, muži nesli na loži člověka, kterýž byl šlakem poražený, i hledali vnésti ho a položiti před něj.19 A nenalezše, kterou by jej stranou vnesli pro zástup, vstoupili na dům, a skrze podlahu spustili jej s ložem uprostřed před Ježíše.20 Kterýžto viděv víru jejich, řekl mu: Člověče, odpuštěniť jsou tobě hříchové tvoji.21 Tedy počali přemyšlovati zákoníci a farizeové, řkouce: Kdo jest tento, jenž mluví rouhání? Kdo může odpustiti hříchy, jediné sám Bůh?22 Poznav pak Ježíš myšlení jejich, odpovídaje, řekl k nim: Co tak utrhavě přemyšlujete v srdcích vašich?23 Co jest snáze říci: Odpouštějí se tobě hříchové tvoji, čili říci: Vstaň a choď?24 Ale abyste věděli, že Syn člověka má moc na zemi odpouštěti hříchy, (řekl dnou zlámanému:) Toběť pravím: Vstaň, a vezma lože své, jdi do domu svého.25 A on hned vstav před nimi, vzal lože, na němž ležel, i odšel do domu svého, velebě Boha.26 I užasli se všickni, i velebili Boha, a naplněni jsou bázní, řkouce: Že jsme viděli dnes divné věci.

27 A potom vyšel Ježíš a uzřel celného, jménem Léví, sedícího na cle. I řekl jemu: Pojď za mnou.28 A on opustiv všecko, vstav, šel za ním.29 I učinil jemu hody veliké Léví v domu svém, a byl tu zástup veliký publikánů i jiných, kteříž s ním stolili.30 Tedy reptali zákoníci a farizeové, řkouce učedlníkům jeho: Proč s publikány a hříšníky jíte a pijete?31 I odpověděv Ježíš, řekl k nim: Nepotřebujíť zdraví lékaře, ale nemocní.32 Nepřišelť jsem volati spravedlivých, ale hříšných ku pokání.

33 A oni řekli jemu: Proč učedlníci Janovi postí se často a modlí se, též podobně i farizejští, tvoji pak jedí a pijí?34 On pak řekl k nim: Zdali můžete synům ženicha, dokudž s nimi jest ženich, kázati se postiti?35 Ale přijdouť dnové, a když odjat bude od nich ženich, tehdážť se budou postiti v těch dnech.

36 Pravil pak i podobenství k nim: Že žádný záplaty roucha nového nepřišívá k rouchu vetchému; sic jinak i nové roztrhuje, a vetchému nepřísluší záplata z nového.37 A žádný nevlévá vína nového do nádob starých; sic jinak víno nové rozpučí nádoby, a samo vyteče, a nádoby se pokazí.38 Ale víno nové v nádoby nové má lito býti, a obé bude zachováno.39 A aniž kdo, když pije staré, hned chce nového, ale díť: Staré lepší jest.

Luke 5

The Call of the Disciples

1 Nowt Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,s and the crowd was pressing around hims to hear the word of God.2 Het saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.3 He got intot one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Thent Jesust sat downt and taught the crowds from the boat.4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and lowert your nets for a catch.”5 Simont answered,t “Master,t we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your wordt I will lowert the nets.”6 Whent they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear.t7 Sot they motionedt to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were about to sink.t8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord,s for I am a sinful man!”s9 Fors Petert and all who were with him were astonisheds at the catch of fish that they had taken,10 and so were James and John, Zebedee’s sons, who were Simon’s business partners.t Thent Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now ons you will be catching people.”ts

11 Sot when they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followeds him.

Healing a Leper

12 Whilet Jesust was in one of the towns,t a man camet to him who was covered witht leprosy.s Whent he saw Jesus, he bowed down with his face to the groundt and begged him,t “Lord, ift you are willing, you can make me clean.”13 Sot he stretched out his hand and toucheds him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.14 Thent he ordered the mant to tell no one,s but commanded him,t “Got and show yourself to a priest, and bring the offeringt for your cleansing, as Moses commanded,s as a testimony to them.”t15 But the news about him spread even more,s and large crowds were gathering together to hear himt and to be healed of their illnesses.

16 Yet Jesus himselft frequently withdrewt to the wildernesst and prayed.

Healing and Forgiving a Paralytic

17 Now ont one of those days, while he was teaching, there were Phariseess and teachers of the lawt sitting nearby (who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem),ss and the power of the Lord was with hims to heal.18 Just thent some men showed up, carrying a paralyzed mant on a stretcher.t Theyt were trying to bring him in and place him before Jesus.t19 Butt since they foundt no way to carry him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roofs and let him down on the stretchert through the roof tilest rightt in front of Jesus.s20 Whent Jesust saw theirs faith he said, “Friend,t your sins are forgiven.”ts21 Thent the experts in the lawt and the Pharisees began to thinkt to themselves,t “Who is this mant who is uttering blasphemies?s Who can forgive sins but God alone?”22 When Jesus perceiveds their hostile thoughts,t he said to them,t “Why are you raising objectionst within yourselves?23 Which is easier,s to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up and walk’?24 But so that you may knows that the Son of Mans has authority on earth to forgive sins” – he said to the paralyzed mants – “I tell you, stand up, take your stretchert and go home.”t25 Immediatelyt he stood up before them, pickedt up the stretchert he had been lying on, and went home, glorifyings God.

26 Thent astonishmentt seized them all, and they glorifiedt God. They were filled with awe,t saying, “We have seen incrediblet thingst today.”s

The Call of Levi; Eating with Sinners

27 Aftert this, Jesust went out and saw a tax collectors named Levis sitting at the tax booth.ts “Follow me,”s he said to him.

28 And he got up and followed him, leaving everythings behind.t
29 Thent Levi gave a great banquets in his house for Jesus,t and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sittingt at the table with them.30 Butt the Phariseess and their experts in the lawt complainedt to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”s31 Jesust answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do.s

32 I have not comes to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”s

The Superiority of the New

33 Thent they said to him, “John’sss disciples frequently fasts and pray,t and so do the disciples of the Pharisees,s but yours continue to eat and drink.”t34 Sot Jesus said to them, “You cannot make the wedding guestst fast while the bridegrooms is with them, can you?t35 But those days are coming, and when the bridegroom is taken from them,s at that timet they will fast.”36 He also told them a parable:s “No one tears a patch from a new garment and sewst it on an old garment. If he does, he will have tornt the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.s37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins.s If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.38 Instead new wine must be poured into new wineskins.ss

39 ss Nos one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, ‘The old is good enough.’”sts
