Lukas 5

1 Men det begav sig, der Folket trængte sig til ham for at høre Guds Ord, og han stod ved Genezareths Sø,2 og saae to Skibe ligge paa Søen, som Fiskerne vare bortgangne fra for at toe deres Garn:3 traadte han ind i eet af Skibene, som var Simons, og bad ham at lægge lidet fra Landet; og han satte sig og lærte Folket af Skibet.4 Men der han lod af at tale, sagde han til Simon: far ud paa Dybet, og kaster Eders Garn ud til en Dræt.5 Og Simon svarede og sagde til ham: Mester! vi have arbeidet den ganske Nat og fik Intet; men paa dit Ord vil jeg udkaste Garnet.6 Og der de gjorde det, fangede de en stor Hob Fiske; men deres Garn sønderreves.7 Og de vinkede ad deres Medbrødre, som vare i det andet Skib, at de skulde komme og hjælpe dem; og de kom og fyldte begge Skibene, saa at de vare nær ved at synke.8 Men der Simon Peter saae det, faldt han ned for Jesu Knæ og sagde: Herre! gak ud fra mig, thi jeg er en syndig Mand.9 thi en Rædsel var paakommen ham og alle dem, som vare med ham, for den Fiskedræt, som de havde fanget med hverandre;10 disligeste ogsaa Jakob og Johannes, Zebedæus' Sønner, som vare Simons Stalbrødre. Og Jesus sagde til Simon: frygt ikke, fra nu af skal du fange Mennesker.11 Og de førte Skibene til Landet og forlode alle Ting og fulgte ham.12 Og det begav sig, der han var i een af Stæderne, see, da var der en Mand fuld af Spedalskhed; og der han saae Jesus, faldt han paa sit Ansigt, bad ham og sagde: Herre! om du vil, kan du rense mig.13 Og han udrakte sin Haand og rørte ved ham og sagde: jeg vil; vorde reen! Og strax gik Spedalskheden bort fra ham.14 Og han bød ham, at han skulde Ingen sige det, men sagde: gak bort, og betee dig for Præsten, og offre for din Renselse, som Moses har befalet, dem til Vidnesbyrd.15 Men Rygtet om ham udbredte sig end mere, og meget Folk kom sammen at høre og at helbredes af ham for deres Sygdomme.16 Men han veg bort i Ørkerne og bad.17 Og det begav sig paa een af Dagene, at han lærte, og der sadde Pharisæer og Lovlærere, som var komne fra alle Byer i Galilæa og Judæa og fra Jerusalem, og Herrens Kraft viste sig i at helbrede.18 Og see, nogle Mænd bare paa en Seng et Menneske, som var værkbruden, og denne søgte de at bringe ind og lægge for ham.19 Og der de formedelst Folket ikke kunde finde, hvorledes de skulde bringe ham ind, stege de op paa taget og lode ham tilligemed Sengen ned imellem Tagstenene midt iblandt Folket for Jesus.20 Og der han saae deres Tro, sagde han til ham: Menneske! dine Synder ere dig forladne.21 Og de Skriftkloge og Pharisæerne begyndte at tænke og sagde: hvo er denne, som taler Gudsbespottelser? hvo kan forlade Synder uden Gud alene?22 Men der Jesus fornam deres tanker, svarede han og sagde til dem: hvad tænkte I udi Eders Hjerter?23 Hvilket er lettere, at sige: dig ere dine Synder forladne? eller at sige: staa op og vandre?24 Men at I skulle vide, at Menneskens Søn har Magt paa Jorden at forlade Synder, (sagde han til den Værkbrudne): jeg siger dig, staa op, tag din Seng op og gak til dit Huus.25 Og han stod strax op for deres Øine og tog op det, som han laae paa, og gik hen til sit Huus og prisede Gud.26 Og en stor Forfærdelse betog dem alle, og de prisede Gud; og de bleve fulde af Frygt og sagde: vi have i dag seet utrolige Ting.27 Derefter gik han ud og saae en Tolder, som hedte Levi, siddende i Toldboden, og sagde til ham: følg mig!28 Og han forlod alle Ting og stod op og fulgte ham.29 Og samme Levi gjorde et stort Gjestebud for ham i sit Huus; og der var en stor Hob af Toldere og Andre, som sadde med dem tilbords.30 Og deres Skriftkloge og Pharisæerne knurrede imod hans Disciple og sagde: hvorfor æde og drikke I med Toldere og Syndere?31 Og Jesus svarede og sagde til dem: de Karske have ikke Læge behov, men de, som lide ilde.32 Jeg er ikke kommen at kalde Retfærdige, men Syndere til Omvendelse.33 Men de sagde til ham: hvorfor faste Johannes' Disciple saa ofte og holde Bønner, og Pharisæernes ligesaa; men dine æde og drikke?34 Men han sagde til dem: kunne I komme Bryllupsfolket til at faste, saa længe Brudgommen er hos dem?35 De Dage skulle komme, naar Brudgommen skal tages fra dem, da skulle de faste i de samme Dage.36 Men han sagde og en Lignelse til dem: Ingen sætter en Klud af nyt Klæde paa et gammelt Klædebon, ellers river baade det nye det gamle sønder, og Kluden af det nye skikker sig ikke paa det gamle.37 Og Ingen lader ny Viin i gamle Læderflasker; ellers sønderriver den nye Viin Læderflaskerne, og den spildes, og Læderflaskerne fordærves.38 Men man skal lade ny Viin i nye Læderflasker, saa blive de begge bevarede.39 Og Ingen, som drikker den gamle, vil strax drikke den nye; thi han siger: den gamle er bedre.

Luke 5

The Call of the Disciples

1 Nowt Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,s and the crowd was pressing around hims to hear the word of God.2 Het saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.3 He got intot one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Thent Jesust sat downt and taught the crowds from the boat.4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and lowert your nets for a catch.”5 Simont answered,t “Master,t we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your wordt I will lowert the nets.”6 Whent they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear.t7 Sot they motionedt to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were about to sink.t8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord,s for I am a sinful man!”s9 Fors Petert and all who were with him were astonisheds at the catch of fish that they had taken,10 and so were James and John, Zebedee’s sons, who were Simon’s business partners.t Thent Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now ons you will be catching people.”ts

11 Sot when they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followeds him.

Healing a Leper

12 Whilet Jesust was in one of the towns,t a man camet to him who was covered witht leprosy.s Whent he saw Jesus, he bowed down with his face to the groundt and begged him,t “Lord, ift you are willing, you can make me clean.”13 Sot he stretched out his hand and toucheds him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.14 Thent he ordered the mant to tell no one,s but commanded him,t “Got and show yourself to a priest, and bring the offeringt for your cleansing, as Moses commanded,s as a testimony to them.”t15 But the news about him spread even more,s and large crowds were gathering together to hear himt and to be healed of their illnesses.

16 Yet Jesus himselft frequently withdrewt to the wildernesst and prayed.

Healing and Forgiving a Paralytic

17 Now ont one of those days, while he was teaching, there were Phariseess and teachers of the lawt sitting nearby (who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem),ss and the power of the Lord was with hims to heal.18 Just thent some men showed up, carrying a paralyzed mant on a stretcher.t Theyt were trying to bring him in and place him before Jesus.t19 Butt since they foundt no way to carry him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roofs and let him down on the stretchert through the roof tilest rightt in front of Jesus.s20 Whent Jesust saw theirs faith he said, “Friend,t your sins are forgiven.”ts21 Thent the experts in the lawt and the Pharisees began to thinkt to themselves,t “Who is this mant who is uttering blasphemies?s Who can forgive sins but God alone?”22 When Jesus perceiveds their hostile thoughts,t he said to them,t “Why are you raising objectionst within yourselves?23 Which is easier,s to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up and walk’?24 But so that you may knows that the Son of Mans has authority on earth to forgive sins” – he said to the paralyzed mants – “I tell you, stand up, take your stretchert and go home.”t25 Immediatelyt he stood up before them, pickedt up the stretchert he had been lying on, and went home, glorifyings God.

26 Thent astonishmentt seized them all, and they glorifiedt God. They were filled with awe,t saying, “We have seen incrediblet thingst today.”s

The Call of Levi; Eating with Sinners

27 Aftert this, Jesust went out and saw a tax collectors named Levis sitting at the tax booth.ts “Follow me,”s he said to him.

28 And he got up and followed him, leaving everythings behind.t
29 Thent Levi gave a great banquets in his house for Jesus,t and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sittingt at the table with them.30 Butt the Phariseess and their experts in the lawt complainedt to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”s31 Jesust answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do.s

32 I have not comes to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”s

The Superiority of the New

33 Thent they said to him, “John’sss disciples frequently fasts and pray,t and so do the disciples of the Pharisees,s but yours continue to eat and drink.”t34 Sot Jesus said to them, “You cannot make the wedding guestst fast while the bridegrooms is with them, can you?t35 But those days are coming, and when the bridegroom is taken from them,s at that timet they will fast.”36 He also told them a parable:s “No one tears a patch from a new garment and sewst it on an old garment. If he does, he will have tornt the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.s37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins.s If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.38 Instead new wine must be poured into new wineskins.ss

39 ss Nos one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, ‘The old is good enough.’”sts
