كار در روز سبت

(متّی 1:12-8؛ مرقس 23:2-28)

1 یک روز سبت عیسی از میان كشتزارهای گندم می‌گذشت. شاگردان او خوشه‌های گندم را می‌چیدند و در كف دستهای خود پاک می‌کردند و می‌خوردند. 2 بعضی از فریسیان گفتند: «چرا شما كاری را كه در روز سبت جایز نیست انجام می‌دهید؟» 3 عیسی پاسخ داد: «مگر نخوانده‌اید داوود در وقتی‌که خود و یارانش گرسنه بودند چه كرد؟ 4 او به خانهٔ خدا وارد شد و نان تقدیس شده را برداشت و خورد و به یاران خود نیز داد، درصورتی‌که خوردن آن نانها برای هیچ‌کس جز كاهنان جایز نیست.»

5 همچنین به ایشان فرمود: «پسر انسان صاحب اختیار روز سبت است.»

شفا در روز سبت

(متّی 9:12-14؛ مرقس 1:3-6)

6 عیسی در روز سبت دیگری به كنیسه رفت و مشغول تعلیم شد. از قضا مردی در آنجا حضور داشت كه دست راستش خشک شده بود. 7 علما و فریسیان مواظب بودند كه ببینند آیا عیسی او را در روز سبت شفا خواهد داد تا مدركی علیه او به دست آورند. 8 امّا عیسی به افكار آنان پی برد و به مردی كه دستش خشک شده بود فرمود: «بلند شو و در وسط بایست.» او برخاست و آنجا ایستاد. 9 عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «سؤالی از شما دارم: آیا در روز سبت، نیكی كردن رواست یا بدی كردن؟ جان انسان را نجات دادن یا نابود كردن؟» 10 دور تا دور به همهٔ آنها نگاه كرد و به آن مرد فرمود: «دستت را دراز كن.» او دست خود را دراز كرد و دستش خوب شد.

11 امّا آنان بسیار خشمگین شده در میان خودشان به گفت‌وگو پرداختند كه با عیسی چه می‌توانند بكنند.

انتخاب حواریون

(متّی 1:10-4؛ مرقس 13:3-19)

12 در آن روزها عیسی برای دعا به كوهستان رفت و شب را با دعا به درگاه خدا به صبح رسانید. 13 وقتی سپیدهٔ صبح دمید شاگردان خود را احضار كرد و از میان آنان، دوازده نفر را انتخاب كرد و آنها را رسولان نامید: 14 شمعون كه به او لقب پطرس داد و اندریاس برادر او، یعقوب و یوحنا، فیلیپُس و بارتولما، 15 متّی و توما، یعقوب پسر حلفی و شمعون معروف به فدایی، یهودا پسر یعقوب

16 و یهودای اسخریوطی كه خائن از كار درآمد.

در خدمت مردم

(متّی 23:4-25)

17 عیسی با آنان از كوه پایین آمد و در زمین همواری ایستاد. اجتماع بزرگی از شاگردان او و گروه كثیری از تمام نقاط یهودیه و اورشلیم و اطراف صور و صیدون حضور داشتند. 18 آنها آمده بودند تا سخنان او را بشنوند و از امراض خود شفا یابند. آن کسانی‌که گرفتار ارواح پلید بودند، شفا یافتند

19 و هر كسی در میان جمعیّت سعی می‌کرد دست خود را به عیسی بزند چون قدرتی كه از او صادر می‌شد، همه را شفا می‌داد.

ستایش و نكوهش

(متّی 1:5-12)

20 بعد به شاگردان خود چشم دوخت و گفت:
«خوشا به حال شما كه فقیرید،
پادشاهی خدا از آن شماست.

21 «خوشا به حال شما كه اكنون گرسنه‌اید،
شما سیر خواهید شد.
خوشا به حال شما كه اكنون اشک می‌‌ریزید،
شما خندان خواهید شد.
22 «خوشا به حال شما هرگاه به‌خاطر پسر انسان، مردم از شما روی گردانند و شما را از بین خود بیرون كنند و به شما اهانت كنند و یا به شما بد بگویند.

23 در آن روز شاد باشید و از خوشی پایكوبی كنید چون بدون شک پاداش سرشاری در عالم بالا خواهید داشت زیرا نیاکان ایشان نیز درست به همین‌طور با انبیا رفتار می‌کردند.

24 «امّا وای به حال شما ثروتمندان،
شما روزهای كامرانی خود را پشت سر گذاشته‌اید.

25 وای به حال شما كه اكنون سیر هستید،
گرسنگی خواهید كشید.
وای به حال شما كه اكنون می‌خندید،
شما ماتم خواهید گرفت و اشک خواهید ریخت.

26 «وای به حال شما وقتی همه از شما تعریف می‌کنند. نیاکان ایشان درست همین كار را با انبیای دروغین كردند.

مهربانی با دشمنان

(متّی 38:5-48؛ 12:7 الف)

27 «امّا به شما كه سخن مرا می‌شنوید می‌گویم: به دشمنان خود محبّت نمایید، به آنانی كه از شما متنفّرند نیكی كنید. 28 برای آنانی كه به شما دشنام می‌دهند دعای خیر كنید. برای آنانی كه با شما بدرفتاری می‌کنند دعا كنید. 29 وقتی كسی به صورت تو می‌زند طرف دیگر صورت خود را هم پیش او ببر. وقتی كسی قبای تو را می‌برد بگذار پیراهنت را هم ببرد. 30 به هرکه چیزی از تو بخواهد ببخش و وقتی كسی آنچه را كه مال توست می‌برد آن را مطالبه نكن.

31 با دیگران آن‌چنان رفتار كنید كه می‌خواهید آنها با شما رفتار كنند.
32 «اگر فقط كسانی را دوست بدارید كه شما را دوست دارند برای شما چه افتخاری دارد؟ حتّی خطاكاران هم دوستداران خود را دوست می‌دارند. 33 و اگر فقط به کسانی‌که به شما نیكی می‌کنند نیكی كنید برای شما چه افتخاری دارد؟ چون خطاكاران هم چنین می‌کنند. 34 و اگر فقط به كسی قرض بدهید كه توقّع پس گرفتن دارید دیگر چه افتخاری برای شما دارد؟ حتّی خطاكاران هم، اگر بدانند تمام آن را پس خواهند گرفت، به یكدیگر قرض خواهند داد. 35 امّا شما به دشمنان خود محبّت نمایید و نیكی كنید و بدون توقّع عوض، قرض بدهید كه پاداش سرشاری خواهید داشت و فرزندان خدای متعال خواهید بود، زیرا او نسبت به ناسپاسان و خطاكاران مهربان است.

36 پس همان‌طور كه پدر شما رحیم است رحیم باشید.

قضاوت دربارهٔ دیگران

(متّی 1:7-5)

37 «دربارهٔ دیگران قضاوت نكنید تا خود مورد قضاوت قرار نگیرید. محكوم نكنید تا محكوم نشوید. دیگران را ببخشید تا بخشیده شوید.

38 بدهید كه به شما داده خواهد شد، پیمانهٔ درست و فشرده و تكان داده شده و لبریز در دامن شما ریخته خواهد شد، زیرا با هر پیمانه‌ای كه به دیگران بدهید با همان پیمانه، عوض خواهید گرفت.»
39 همچنین مَثَلی برای ایشان آورد: «آیا یک كور می‌تواند عصاكش كور دیگری باشد؟ مگر هر دو در گودال نخواهند افتاد؟

40 شاگرد بالاتر از استاد خود نیست امّا وقتی تحصیلات خود را به پایان برساند به پایهٔ استادش خواهد رسید.
41 «چرا به پركاهی كه در چشم برادرت هست نگاه می‌کنی و هیچ در فكر تیری كه در چشم خود داری نیستی؟

42 چطور می‌توانی به برادرت بگویی 'ای برادر، اجازه بده آن پر كاه را از چشمت بیرون بیاورم'، درصورتی كه تیر داخل چشم خود را نمی‌بینی؟ ای ریاكار، اول تیر را از چشم خود بیرون بیاور آن وقت درست خواهی دید كه پر كاه را از چشم برادرت بیرون بیاوری.

شناسایی درخت

(متّی 16:7-20؛ 33:12-35)

43 «هرگز درخت خوب میوهٔ بد و یا درخت بد میوهٔ خوب به بار نیاورده است، 44 هر درختی از میوه‌اش شناخته می‌شود. از بوته‌های خار، انجیر جمع نمی‌کنند و از خاربُن انگور نمی‌چینند.

45 مرد نیكو از خزانهٔ نیک درون خود نیكی به بار می‌آورد و مرد بد از خزانهٔ بد درون خود بدی به بار می‌آورد، چون زبان از آنچه دل را پر ساخته است سخن می‌گوید.

دو خانه

(متّی 24:7-27)

46 «چرا پیوسته به من خداوندا‌ خداوندا می‌گویید ولی آنچه را كه به شما می‌گویم انجام نمی‌دهید؟ 47 هرکه نزد من بیاید و آنچه را كه می‌گویم بشنود و به آنها عمل كند به شما نشان می‌دهم مانند چه كسی است. 48 او مانند آن مردی است كه برای ساختن خانهٔ خود، زمین را عمیق كرد و شالودهٔ آن را روی سنگ قرار داد. وقتی سیل آمد، رودخانه طغیان كرد و به آن خانه زد امّا نتوانست آن را از جا بكند چون محكم ساخته شده بود. 49 امّا هرکه سخنان مرا بشنود و به آن عمل نكند مانند مردی است كه خانهٔ خود را روی خاکِ بدون شالوده بنا كرد. به محض اینكه سیل به آن خانه زد خانه فروریخت و به كلّی ویران شد!»

LUKE 6

A Question about the Sabbath

(Matthew 12.1-8; Mark 2.23-28)

1  t One Sabbath when Jesus and his disciples were walking through some wheat fields, t the disciples picked some wheat. They rubbed the husks off with their hands and started eating the grain.

2 Some Pharisees said, “Why are you picking grain on the Sabbath? You're not supposed to do that!”
3  t Jesus answered, “You surely have read what David did when he and his followers were hungry.

4 t He went into the house of God and took the sacred loaves of bread that only priests were supposed to eat. He not only ate some himself, but even gave some to his followers.”

5 Jesus finished by saying, “The Son of Man is Lord over the Sabbath.”

A Man with a Paralyzed Hand

(Matthew 12.9-14; Mark 3.1-6)

6 On another Sabbatht Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, and a man with a paralyzed right hand was there.

7 Some Pharisees and teachers of the Law of Moses kept watching Jesus to see if he would heal the man. They did this because they wanted to accuse Jesus of doing something wrong.
8 Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he told the man to stand up where everyone could see him. And the man stood up.

9 Then Jesus asked, “On the Sabbath should we do good deeds or evil deeds? Should we save someone's life or destroy it?”

10 After he had looked around at everyone, he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his bad hand became completely well.

11 The teachers and the Pharisees were furious and started saying to one another, “What can we do about Jesus?”

Jesus Chooses His Twelve Apostles

(Matthew 10.1-4; Mark 3.13-19)

12 About that time Jesus went off to a mountain to pray, and he spent the whole night there. 13 The next morning he called his disciples together and chose twelve of them to be his apostles. 14 One was Simon, and Jesus named him Peter. Another was Andrew, Peter's brother. There were also James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus. The rest of the apostles were Simon, known as the Eager One, t

16 Jude, who was the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, t who later betrayed Jesus.

Jesus Teaches, Preaches, //and Heals

(Matthew 4.23-25)

17 Jesus and his apostles went down from the mountain and came to some flat, level ground. Many other disciples were there to meet him. Large crowds of people from all over Judea, Jerusalem, and the coastal towns of Tyre and Sidon were there too. 18 These people had come to listen to Jesus and to be healed of their diseases. All who were troubled by evil spirits were also healed.

19 Everyone was trying to touch Jesus, because power was going out from him and healing them all.

Blessings and Troubles

(Matthew 5.1-12)

20 Jesus looked at his disciples and said:
God will bless you people
who are poor.
His kingdom belongs to you!

21 God will bless
you hungry people.
You will have plenty
to eat!
God will bless you people
who are now crying.
You will laugh!
22  t God will bless you when others hate you and won't have anything to do with you. God will bless you when people insult you and say cruel things about you, all because you are a follower of the Son of Man.

23 t Long ago your own people did these same things to the prophets. So when this happens to you, be happy and jump for joy! You will have a great reward in heaven.

24 But you rich people
are in for trouble.
You have already had
an easy life!

25 You well-fed people
are in for trouble.
You will go hungry!
You people
who are laughing now
are in for trouble.
You are going to cry
and weep!

26 You are in for trouble when everyone says good things about you. That is what your own people said about those prophets who told lies.

Love for Enemies

(Matthew 5.38-48; 7.12a)

27 This is what I say to all who will listen to me:
Love your enemies, and be good to everyone who hates you. 28 Ask God to bless anyone who curses you, and pray for everyone who is cruel to you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, don't stop that person from slapping you on the other cheek. If someone wants to take your coat, don't try to keep back your shirt. 30 Give to everyone who asks and don't ask people to return what they have taken from you.

31 t Treat others just as you want to be treated.
32 If you love only someone who loves you, will God praise you for that? Even sinners love people who love them. 33 If you are kind only to someone who is kind to you, will God be pleased with you for that? Even sinners are kind to people who are kind to them.

34 If you lend money only to someone you think will pay you back, will God be pleased with you for that? Even sinners lend to sinners because they think they will get it all back.
35  t But love your enemies and be good to them. Lend without expecting to be paid back.t Then you will get a great reward, and you will be the true children of God in heaven. He is good even to people who are unthankful and cruel.

36 Have pity on others, just as your Father has pity on you.

Judging Others

(Matthew 7.1-5)

37 Jesus said:
Don't judge others, and God won't judge you. Don't be hard on others, and God won't be hard on you. Forgive others, and God will forgive you.

38 If you give to others, you will be given a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling over into your lap. The way you treat others is the way you will be treated.

39  t Jesus also used some sayings as he spoke to the people. He said:
Can one blind person lead another blind person? Won't they both fall into a ditch?

40 t Are students better than their teacher? But when they are fully trained, they will be like their teacher.
41 You can see the speck in your friend's eye, but you don't notice the log in your own eye.

42 How can you say, “My friend, let me take the speck out of your eye,” when you don't see the log in your own eye? You show-offs! First, get the log out of your own eye; then you can see how to take the speck out of your friend's eye.

A Tree and Its Fruit

(Matthew 7.17-20; 12.34b,35)

43 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. 44 t You can tell what a tree is like by the fruit it produces. You cannot pick figs or grapes from thornbushes.

45 t Good people do good things because of the good in their hearts, but bad people do bad things because of the evil in their hearts. Your words show what is in your heart.

Two Builders

(Matthew 7.24-27)

46 Why do you keep on saying that I am your Lord, when you refuse to do what I say? 47 Anyone who comes and listens to me and obeys me 48 is like someone who dug down deep and built a house on solid rock. When a flood came and the river rushed against the house, it was built so well that it didn't even shake. 49 But anyone who hears what I say and doesn't obey me is like someone whose house wasn't built on solid rock. As soon as the river rushed against that house, it was smashed to pieces!
