第4章

1 万軍の主は言われる、見よ、炉のように燃える日が来る。その時すべて高ぶる者と、悪を行う者とは、わらのようになる。その来る日は、彼らを焼き尽して、根も枝も残さない。2 しかしわが名を恐れるあなたがたには、義の太陽がのぼり、その翼には、いやす力を備えている。あなたがたは牛舎から出る子牛のように外に出て、とびはねる。3 また、あなたがたは悪人を踏みつけ、わたしが事を行う日に、彼らはあなたがたの足の裏の下にあって、灰のようになると、万軍の主は言われる。4 あなたがたは、わがしもべモーセの律法、すなわちわたしがホレブで、イスラエル全体のために、彼に命じた定めとおきてとを覚えよ。5 見よ、主の大いなる恐るべき日が来る前に、わたしは預言者エリヤをあなたがたにつかわす。6 彼は父の心をその子供たちに向けさせ、子供たちの心をその父に向けさせる。これはわたしが来て、のろいをもってこの国を撃つことのないようにするためである」。

Malachi 4

1 s “For indeed the days is coming, burning like a furnace, and all the arrogant evildoers will be chaff. The coming day will burn them up,” says the Lord who rules over all. “Itt will not leave even a root or branch.2 But for you who respect my name, the sun of vindicationts will rise with healing wings,s and you will skip aboutt like calves released from the stall.

3 You will trample on the wicked, for they will be like ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing,” says the Lord who rules over all.

Restoration through the Lord

4 “Remember the law of my servant Moses, to whom at Horebs I gave rules and regulations for all Israel to obey.t5 Look, I will send you Elijahs the prophet before the great and terrible day of the Lord arrives.

6 He will encourage fathers and their children to return to me,t so that I will not come and strike the earth with judgment.”t
