マルコによる福音書 1

一

1 　神の子イエス・キリストの世にもすばらしい物語の始まりは、こうです。
2 　神様が地上にご自分のひとり子を遣わされることと、彼を迎える準備のために特別な使者を送られることとは、預言者イザヤがずっと以前に告げていました。
3 　「この使者は、不毛の荒野に住み、すべての人に呼びかける。　『生活を正せ。　主をお迎えする準備をせよ』」と、イザヤの書物に書いてあります。
バプテスマのヨハネの働き
4 　この使者とは、バプテスマのヨハネのことです。　彼は荒野に住み、人々にこう教えました。　「罪を赦していただくために、悔い改めて神に立ち返れ。　そして、そのしるしにバプテスマ（洗礼）を受けるのだ。」　5 このヨハネのことばを聞こうと、エルサレムばかりか、ユダヤ全国から大ぜいの人が詰めかけ、次々と今までの悪い思いや行ないを神様に告白しました。　ヨハネはそういう人たちに、ヨルダン川でバプテスマを授けていたのです。　6 らくだの毛で織った着物に、皮の帯、いなごとはち蜜が常食という生活を送りながら、　7 彼は次のように宣べ伝えました。　
「私よりもはるかにすばらしい方が、もうすぐおいでになる。　私など、その方のしもべとなる値打もない。　8 私は水でバプテスマを授けているが、その方は聖霊様によってバプテスマをお授けになるのだ。」
9 　そのころ、イエスもガリラヤのナザレから来て、人々といっしょに、ヨルダン川で、ヨハネからバプテスマをお受けになりました。　10 ところが、イエスが水から上がられたちょうどその時、天がさっと開け、聖霊が鳩のようにご自分の上に下って来られるのが見えました。　11 そして天から、「あなたはわたしの愛する子、わたしの喜びだ」というお声が聞こえました。
12 　このあとすぐ、聖霊はイエスを荒野へ追いやりました。　13 イエスは、そこで四十日間、野獣と共に過ごし、罪を犯させようとするサタンの誘惑をお受けになりました。　しかし後には、御使いたちがやって来て、イエスに仕えていました。
14 　ヨハネがヘロデ王の命令で逮捕されると、イエスはガリラヤに行き、神のすばらしい知らせを宣べ伝えました。
15 　「いよいよ、来るべき時が来ました。　神の国が近づいたのです。皆、悔い改めなさい。　このすばらしい知らせに従って行動するのです。」
イエス、弟子を集める
16 　ある日、イエスがガリラヤ湖の岸辺を歩いておられると、シモンとアンデレが兄弟で網を打っている姿が目に入りました。　二人は本職の漁師でした。
17 　イエスは声をおかけになりました。　「さあ、ついて来なさい。　人間をとる漁師にしてあげましょう。」　18 すると二人はすぐ網を置き、イエスについて行きました。
19 　もう少し先に行かれると、ゼベダイの息子のヤコブとヨハネとが舟の中で網を修繕しています。　20 そこでまた、この二人もお呼びになりました。　二人とも、父と雇い人たちとを舟に残したまま、イエスについて行きました。
21 　さて、一行はカペナウムの町にやって来ました。　土曜日の朝、イエスはユダヤ人の礼拝所である会堂へ出かけて、教えを語られました。　22 それを聞いた会衆は驚きました。　イエスの話し方が、これまで聞いてきたのとは、まるで違っていたからです。　イエスはやたらに他人のことばを引用せず、権威をもって堂々と話されました。
イエス、大ぜいの病人を治す
23 　ところが、その会堂に悪霊に取りつかれた人がいて、大声で叫びだしました。　24 「やい、ナザレのイエス！　おれたちをどうしようというんだい。　おれたちを滅ぼすために来たんだろうが。　あんたのことはよく知ってるぜ。　そうとも、神のきよい御子様よ！」
25 　イエスは、悪霊にそれ以上は言わせず、「その人から出て行きなさい！」とお命じになりました。　26 すると、悪霊は大声をあげ、その人を激しく引きつけさせて、出て行きました。　27 この有様に聴衆は肝をつぶし、興奮のあまり口々に論じ合いました。
「いったい、どうなってるんだ！」
「悪霊どもさえ、命令を聞くなんて......。」
「新しい教えなのかね。」
28 　イエスの評判は、たちまちガリラヤの全地方に広まりました。
29 　このあと、会堂を出た一行は、シモンとアンデレの家に行きました。　30 あいにく、この時シモンのしゅうとめは、高熱にうなされて、床についていました。　イエスはそれを知ると、　31 さっそく彼女のそばに行き、手を取って助け起こされました。　するとどうでしょう。たちまち熱が下がり、すっかり元気になったしゅうとめは、みんなをもてなすために、いそいそと食事の用意を始めたのです。
32 　日の沈むころになると、シモンの家の庭は、イエスに治していただくために連れて来られた、病人や悪霊に取りつかれた者たちで、いっぱいになりました。　33 また戸口には、カペナウム中の人たちが詰めかけ、がやがや騒ぎながら中の様子をながめていました。　34 イエスはこの時も、大ぜいの病人を治され、悪霊を追い出されました。　しかも、悪霊にひと言も口をきかせませんでした。　悪霊は、イエスがどういう方か知っていたからです。
35 　翌朝、イエスは夜明け前に起き、ただ一人、人気のない寂しい所へ行って祈られました。
36 　そのうちに、あちらこちらとイエスを捜し回ったシモンたちが来て、　37 「みんなが先生を捜してますよ」と言いました。
38 　イエスは、「さあ、ほかの町へ出かけましょう。　そこでも教えなければなりません。　わたしはそのために来たのですから」とお答えになりました。
39 　こうしてイエスは、ガリラヤ中をくまなく回り、会堂で教え、悪霊に取りつかれた人を大ぜいお助けになりました。
40 　ある時、一人のらい病人がやって来て、イエスの前にひざまずき、熱心に頼みました。　「お願いでございます。　どうか私の体をもとどおりに治してください。　先生のお気持ちひとつで治るのですから。」
41 　イエスは心からかわいそうに思い、彼にさわって、「そうしてあげましょう。　さあ、よくなりなさい」と言われました。　42 すると、たちまち、らい病はあとかたもなくなり、完全に治ってしまいました。　43-44 「これからすぐに祭司のところへ行き、体を調べてもらいなさい。途中で寄り道や立ち話をしてはいけません。　健康な体に戻ったことを明らかにするために、モーセの命じたとおりの供え物をしなさい。」
45 　イエスにきびしく止められたにもかかわらず、男は、うれしさを抑えきれず、この出来事を大声でふれ回って歩きました。　そのため、イエスの回りにはみるみる人垣ができ、公然とは町へ入れなくなりました。　しかたなく町はずれにとどまっておられましたが、そこにも、人々が大ぜい押しかけて来ました。

1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.2 Even as it is written in Isaiah the prophet, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way.3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight;4 John came, who baptized in the wilderness and preached the baptism of repentance unto remission of sins.5 And there went out unto him all the country of Judaea, and all they of Jerusalem; And they were baptized of him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.6 And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and had a leathern girdle about his loins, and did eat locusts and wild honey.7 And he preached, saying, There cometh after me he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.8 I baptized you in water; But he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit.9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in the Jordan.10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens rent asunder, and the Spirit as a dove descending upon him:11 And a voice came out of the heavens, Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased.12 And straightway the Spirit driveth him forth into the wilderness.13 And he was in the wilderness forty days tempted of Satan; And he was with the wild beasts; And the angels ministered unto him.14 Now after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,15 and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe in the gospel.16 And passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net in the sea; for they were fishers.17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.18 And straightway they left the nets, and followed him.19 And going on a little further, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending the nets.20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.21 And they go into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.22 And they were astonished at his teaching: For he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.23 And straightway there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,24 saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus thou Nazarene? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.26 And the unclean spirit, tearing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? a new teaching! with authority he commandeth even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.28 And the report of him went out straightway everywhere into all the region of Galilee round about.29 And straightway, when they were come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.30 Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick of a fever; and straightway they tell him of her:31 and he came and took her by the hand, and raised her up; and the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were sick, and them that were possessed with demons.33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.34 And he healed many that were sick with divers diseases, and cast out many demons; and he suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him.35 And in the morning, a great while before day, he rose up and went out, and departed into a desert place, and there prayed.36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him;37 and they found him, and say unto him, All are seeking thee.38 And he saith unto them, Let us go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also; for to this end came I forth.39 And he went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.40 And there cometh to him a leper, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.41 And being moved with compassion, he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou made clean.42 And straightway the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.43 And he strictly charged him, and straightway sent him out,44 and saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to spread abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
