1 Đầu Tin Lành của Đức Chúa Jêsus Christ, là Con Đức Chúa Trời.2 Như đã chép trong sách tiên tri Ê-sai rằng: Nầy, ta sai sứ ta đến trước mặt ngươi, Người sẽ dọn đường cho ngươi.3 Có tiếng kêu trong đồng vắng rằng: Hãy dọn đường Chúa, Ban bằng các nẻo Ngài;4 Giăng đã tới, trong đồng vắng vừa làm vừa giảng phép báp-tem ăn năn, cho được tha tội.5 Cả xứ Giu-đê và hết thảy dân sự thành Giê-ru-sa-lem đều đến cùng người, xưng tội mình và chịu người làm phép báp tem dưới sông Giô-đanh.6 Giăng mặc áo lông lạc đà, buộc dây lưng da ngang hông; ăn những châu chấu và mật ong rừng.7 Người giảng dạy rằng: Có Đấng quyền phép hơn ta đến sau ta; ta không đáng cúi xuống mở dây giày Ngài.8 Ta làm phép báp-tem cho các ngươi bằng nước; nhưng Ngài sẽ làm phép báp-tem cho các ngươi bằng Đức Thánh Linh.9 Vả, trong những ngày đó, Đức Chúa Jêsus đến từ Na-xa-rét là thành xứ Ga-li-lê, và chịu Giăng làm phép báp-tem dưới sông Giô-đanh.10 Vừa khi lên khỏi nước, Ngài thấy các từng trời mở ra, và Đức Thánh Linh ngự xuống trên mình Ngài như chim bò câu.11 Lại có tiếng từ trên trời phán rằng: Ngươi là Con yêu dấu của ta, đẹp lòng ta mọi đường.12 Tức thì Đức Thánh Linh giục Ngài đến nơi đồng vắng.13 Ngài ở nơi đồng vắng chịu quỉ Sa-tan cám dỗ bốn mươi ngày, ở chung với thú rừng, và có thiên sứ hầu việc Ngài.14 Sau khi Giăng bị tù, Đức Chúa Jêsus đến xứ Ga-li-lê, giảng Tin Lành của Đức Chúa Trời,15 mà rằng: Kỳ đã trọn, nước Đức Chúa Trời đã đến gần; các ngươi hãy ăn năn và tin đạo Tin Lành.16 Ngài đi dọc theo mé biển Ga-li-lê, thấy Si-môn với Anh-rê, em người, đang thả lưới dưới biển; vì hai người vốn làm nghề chài.17 Đức Chúa Jêsus bèn phán cùng họ rằng: Hãy theo ta, và ta sẽ khiến các ngươi trở nên tay đánh lưới người.18 Tức thì hai người bỏ chài lưới mà theo Ngài.19 Đi một đỗi xa xa, Ngài thấy Gia-cơ, con Xê-bê-đê, với em là Giăng, đang vá lưới trong thuyền.20 Ngài liền kêu hai người; thì họ để Xê-bê-đê, cha mình, ở lại trong thuyền với mấy người làm thuê, mà theo Ngài.21 Kế đó, đi đến thành Ca-bê-na-um; nhằm ngày Sa-bát, tức thì Đức Chúa Jêsus vào nhà hội, khởi dạy dỗ tại đó.22 Chúng đều cảm động về sự dạy dỗ của Ngài, vì Ngài dạy như có quyền phép, chớ chẳng phải như các thầy thông giáo đâu.23 Vả, cũng một lúc ấy, trong nhà hội có người bị tà ma ám,24 kêu lên rằng: Hỡi Jêsus, người Na-xa-rét, chúng tôi với Ngài có sự gì chăng? Ngài đến để diệt chúng tôi sao? Tôi biết Ngài là ai: là Đấng Thánh của Đức Chúa Trời.25 Nhưng Đức Chúa Jêsus nghiêm trách nó rằng: Hãy nín đi, ra khỏi người nầy.26 Tà ma bèn vật mạnh người ấy, cất tiếng kêu lớn, và ra khỏi người.27 Ai nấy đều lấy làm lạ, đến nỗi hỏi nhau rằng: Cái gì vậy? Sự dạy mới sao! Người nầy lấy quyền phép sai khiến đến tà ma, mà nó cũng phải vâng lời!28 Danh tiếng Đức Chúa Jêsus tức thì đồn ra khắp cả miền xung quanh xứ Ga-li-lê.29 Vừa ở nhà hội ra, Chúa và môn đồ đi với Gia-cơ cùng Giăng vào nhà Si-môn và Anh-rê.30 Vả, bà gia Si-môn đang nằm trên giường, đau rét; tức thì chúng thưa với Ngài về chuyện người.31 Ngài bèn lại gần, cầm tay người đỡ dậy; bịnh rét dứt đi, và người bắt tay hầu hạ.32 Đến chiều, mặt trời đã lặn, người ta đem mọi kẻ bịnh và kẻ bị quỉ ám đến cùng Ngài.33 Cả thành nhóm lại trước cửa.34 Ngài chữa lành nhiều kẻ đau các thứ bịnh, và đuổi nhiều quỉ, chẳng cho phép các quỉ nói ra, vì chúng nó biết Ngài.35 Sáng hôm sau trời còn mờ mờ, Ngài chờ dậy, bước ra, đi vào nơi vắng vẻ, và cầu nguyện tại đó.36 Si-môn cùng đồng bạn đi tìm Ngài.37 Khi kiếm được thì thưa rằng: Hết thảy đang tìm thầy.38 Ngài phán: Chúng ta hãy đi nơi khác, trong những làng xung quanh đây, để ta cũng giảng đạo ở đó nữa; vì ấy là cốt tại việc đó mà ta đã đến.39 Ngài trải khắp xứ Ga-li-lê, giảng dạy trong các nhà hội và đuổi quỉ.40 Có một người phung đến cùng Ngài, quì xuống cầu xin rằng: Nếu Chúa khứng, có thể khiến tôi sạch được.41 Đức Chúa Jêsus động lòng thương xót, giơ tay rờ người, mà phán rằng: Ta khứng, hãy sạch đi.42 Liền khi đó, phung lặn mất, người trở nên sạch.43 Tức thì Đức Chúa Jêsus cho người ra, lấy giọng nghiêm phán rằng:44 Hãy giữ chớ tỏ điều đó cùng ai; song khá đi tỏ mình cùng thầy tế lễ, và vì ngươi được sạch, hãy dâng của lễ theo như Môi-se dạy, để điều đó làm chứng cho họ.45 Nhưng người ấy đi, đồn việc đó ra, tới đâu cũng thuật chuyện, đến nỗi Chúa Giê-xu không vào thành cách rõ ràng được nữa; song Ngài ở ngoài, tại nơi vắng vẻ; và người ta từ bốn phương đều đến cùng Ngài.

Mark 1

The Ministry of John the Baptist

1 The beginning of the gospels of Jesus Christ,t the Son of God.ss

2 As it is written in Isaiah the prophet,s
“Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way,s

3 the voice of one shouting in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
makeshis paths straight.’”s
4 In the wildernesst John the baptizert began preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.s5 Peoplet from the whole Judean countryside and all of Jerusalems were going out to him, and he was baptizing themt in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.6 John wore a garment made of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.s7 He proclaimed,t “One more powerful than I am is coming after me; I am not worthyts to bend down and untie the strapt of his sandals.

8 I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

The Baptism and Temptation of Jesus

9 Nowt in those days Jesus came from Nazareths in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan River.t10 And just as Jesust was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavenst splitting apart and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.s11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my one dear Son;t in you I take great delight.”ts12 The Spirit immediately drove him into the wilderness.

13 He was in the wilderness forty days,s enduring temptations from Satan. Het was with wild animals, and angels were ministering to his needs.t

Preaching in Galilee and the Call of the Disciples

14 Now after John was imprisoned,t Jesus went into Galilee and proclaimed the gospels of God.t15 Het said, “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of Gods is near. Repent and believe the gospel!”16 As he went along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon’s brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen).s17 Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will turn you into fishers of people.”ts18 They left their nets immediately and followed him.s19 Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in theirt boat mending nets.

20 Immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

Jesus’ Authority

21 Thent they went to Capernaum.ss When the Sabbath came,t Jesust went into the synagogues and began to teach.22 The people theret were amazed by his teaching, because he taught them like one who had authority,s not like the experts in the law.t23 Just then there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit,s and he cried out,t24 “Leave us alone,ts Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy Ones of God!”25 Butt Jesus rebuked him:t “Silence! Come out of him!”s26 After throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice and came out of him.27 They were all amazed so that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He even commands the unclean spirits and they obey him.”

28 Sot the news about him spread quickly throughout all the region around Galilee.

Healings at Simon’s House

29 Nowt as soon as they left the synagogue,s they entered Simon and Andrew’s house, with James and John.30 Simon’s mother-in-law was lying down, sick with a fever, sot they spoke to Jesust at once about her.31 He came and raised her up by gently taking her hand. Then the fever left her and she began to servet them.32 When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick and demon-possessed.33 The whole town gathered by the door.

34 Sot he healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons.s Butt he would not permit the demons to speak,s because they knew him.s

Praying and Preaching

35 Thent Jesust got up early in the morning when it was still very dark, departed, and went out to a deserted place, and there he spent time in prayer.t36 Simon and his companions searched for him.37 When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.”38 He replied,t “Let us go elsewhere, into the surrounding villages, so that I can preach there too. For that is what I came out here to do.”t

39 Sot he went into all of Galilee preaching in their synagoguess and casting out demons.

Cleansing a Leper

40 Nowt a lepers came to him and fell to his knees, asking for help. “Ift you are willing, you can make me clean,” he said.41 Moved with compassion,s Jesust stretched out his hand and toucheds him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean!”42 The leprosy left him at once, and he was clean.43 Immediately Jesust sent the mant away with a very strong warning.44 He told him,t “See that you do not say anything to anyone,s but go, show yourself to a priest, and bring the offering that Moses commandeds for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”t

45 But as the mant went out he began to announce it publicly and spread the story widely, so that Jesust was no longer able to enter any town openly but stayed outside in remote places. Stillt they kept comingt to him from everywhere.
