הבשורה על-פי מרקוס 10

י

1 ישוע עזב את כפר-נחום והלך דרומה, לגבול יהודה ולאזור שממזרח לנהר הירדן. שוב התאסף סביבו קהל גדול, וישוע לימד אותם כמנהגו.

2 פרושים אחדים שבאו לנסותו שאלו: "האם אתה בעד גירושין או נגדו?"

3 "מה אמר משה רבנו בקשר לגירושין?" שאל ישוע.

4 "משה אמר שמותר להתגרש," השיבו הפרושים. "הוא אמר שבעל הרוצה לגרש את אשתו צריך לכתוב לה ספר כריתות (מכתב גירושין), וזה כל מה שנדרש ממנו."

5 "האם אתם יודעים מדוע התיר משה גירושין?" השיב ישוע. "אני אגיד לכם למה: משה לקח בחשבון את האופי העקשני שלכם.

6-7 הרי מובן מאליו שאלוהים לא ברא איש ואישה כדי שייפרדו, אלא להיפך - אלוהים ברא איש ואישה כדי שיתאחדו לעולם בברית הנישואין. על כן יעזוב איש את אביו ואת אמו,

8 ודבק באשתו והיו לבשר אחדt.

9 וכך אסור לאיש להפריד את מה שאלוהים איחד."

10 מאוחר יותר, כשנשאר ישוע בבית לבד עם התלמידים, שוב העלו את הנושא.

11 ישוע הסביר להם: "בעל המגרש את אשתו משום שברצונו להתחתן עם אישה אחרת, נחשב לנואף.

12 ואישה המגרשת את בעלה ומתחתנת בשנית נחשבת גם היא לנואפת."

13 פעם הביאו אליו מספר אמהות את ילדיהן, כדי שיברך אותם, אולם התלמידים גירשו את האמהות וביקשו מהן שלא להטריד את ישוע.

14 כשראה ישוע מה עושים תלמידיו, זה לא מצא חן בעיניו. "הניחו לילדים לבוא אלי; אל תגרשו אותם! הרי לכאלה שייכת מלכות האלוהים.

15 אני אומר לכם: מי שלא יבוא אלי כמו ילד, לא יוכל להיכנס למלכות האלוהים."

16 ישוע חיבק את הילדים, הניח ידיו על ראשם וברך אותם.

17 יום אחד כאשר ישוע יצא לאחד ממסעותיו, בא אליו אדם בריצה שנפל לרגליו ושאל: "רבי הטוב, כיצד אוכל לרשת חיי נצח?"

18 מדוע אתה אומר שאני טוב?" שאל ישוע. "רק אלוהים טוב.

19 אך בתשובה לשאלתך, אתה הרי מכיר את המצוות: לא תרצח, לא תנאף, לא תגנוב, לא תהיה עד שקר, לא תחמוד, כבד את אביך ואת אמך?"

20 "רבי", ענה האיש, "תמיד שמרתי את כל המצוות האלה."

21 ישוע הביט בו באהבה. "עליך לעשות עוד דבר אחד; עליך למכור את רכושך ולתרום את הכסף לעניים - כדי שאוצרך יהיה בשמים - ולאחר מכן לך אחרי."

22 האיש התעצב מאוד והלך לדרכו, כי היה עשיר מאוד.

23 ישוע הסתכל ואז אמר לתלמידיו: "לאיש עשיר קשה מאוד להיכנס למלכות האלוהים."

24 דבריו של ישוע הדהימו את התלמידים, ולכן חזר ואמר: "ילדים יקרים, מי שבוטח בכסף וברכוש קשה לו מאוד להיכנס למלכות האלוהים.

25 קל יותר לגמל לעבור דרך חוט המחט, מאשר לאיש עשיר להיכנס למלכות האלוהים."

26 דבריו אך הגבירו את תמיהת התלמידים. הם שאלו: "אם כך, אז איך אנשים יכולים להיוושע?" שאלו.

27 ישוע הסביר להם בסבלנות: "זהו בלתי אפשרי לבני אדם, אבל עם אלוהים הכול אפשרי!"

28 פטרוס החל למנות בקול רם את כל הדברים שהוא ושאר התלמידים עזבו למען ישוע. "אנחנו ויתרנו על הכול כדי ללכת אחריך!" אמר פטרוס.

29 "אני מבטיח לכם," אמר ישוע, "שכל מי שוויתר על בית, אחים, אחיות, אמא, אבא, ילדים או רכוש למעני ולמען הבשורה,

30 יקבל ממני חזרה פי מאה ממה שלכאורה הפסיד: בתים, אחים, אחיות, אמהות, ילדים, אדמות - אך עם כל אלה גם רדיפות, ובעולם הבא יקבל חיי נצח.

31 אנשים רבים שנראים עכשיו חשובים יהיו חסרי כל חשיבות, ורבים מאלה הנראים עתה חסרי חשיבות יהיו חשובים ביותר!"

32 בדרך לירושלים הלך ישוע בראש, והתלמידים הלכו אחריו בחרדה. ישוע המשיך לספר להם מה יקרה לו בירושלים.

33 "כשנגיע לירושלים," פתח ישוע, "יאסרו אותי ייקחו אותי אל ראשי הכוהנים והסופרים; הם ישפטו אותי וידונו אותי למוות. לאחר מכן ימסרו אותי לידי הרומאים, כדי שיוציאו לפועל את גזר הדין.

34 הם ירקו עלי, ילעגו לי, יצליפו בי בשוטים ויהרגו אותי. אבל לאחר שלושה ימים אקום לתחייה."

35 יעקב ויוחנן בני זבדי לחשו באוזנו: "רבי, אנחנו רוצים לבקש ממך טובה."

36 "איזו טובה אתם רוצים?" שאל ישוע.

37 "כאשר תשב על כסא המלכות, אנו רוצים לשבת אחד לימינך ואחד לשמאלך."

38 "אינכם יודעים מה אתם מבקשים!" התפלא ישוע. "האם תוכלו לשתות מהכוס שאני חייב לשתות? האם תוכלו להיטבל בטבילה שאני מוכרח להיטבל?"

39 "כן!" השיבו.
"אתם באמת תשתו מכוסי ותיטבלו בטבילתי," אמר ישוע.

40 "אבל איני יכול להבטיח לכם לשבת לימיני ולשמאלי, מפני שמקומות אלה כבר שמורים!"

41 עד מהרה גילו שאר התלמידים את בקשתם של יעקב ויוחנן וכעסו עליהם מאוד.

42 ישוע קיבץ סביבו את התלמידים ואמר: "אתם הרי יודעים שמנהיגי הגויים רודים בנתיניהם, ומעניקים כוח וסמכות למי שהם רוצים.

43 אבל אצלכם יהא המצב שונה; מי שרוצה להיות מנהיג ביניכם צריך להיות לכם למשרת.

44 מי שרוצה לעמוד בראש צריך להיות המשרת של כולכם.

45 אף אני, המשיח, לא באתי לכאן כדי שישרתו אותי, אלא כדי לשרת את האחרים ולעזור להם, וכדי לתת את חיי בתמורה לחייהם של אנשים רבים."

46 ישוע ותלמידיו באו ליריחו. בצאתם מהעיר הלך אחריהם קהל גדול. בצד הדרך ישב קבצן עיוור בשם ברטמי בן-טימי,

47 ששמע שישוע מנצרת מתקרב. ברטמי החל לצעוק: "ישוע בן דוד, רחם עלי!"

48 "שתוק!" ציוו עליו מספר אנשים. אך העיוור לא שתק, אלא הגביר את קולו: "בן דוד, רחם עלי!"

49 ישוע שמע את תחינותיו של העיוור ועמד מלכת. הוא ביקש לקרוא לעיוור. "התעודד," אמרו לו, "קום! הוא קורא לך."

50 ברטמי השליך מעליו את סמיכותיו ובא לישוע.

Mark 10

Divorce

1 Thent Jesust left that place and went to the region of Judea ands beyond the Jordan River.t Again crowds gathered to him, and again, as was his custom, he taught them.2 Then some Phariseesss came, and to test himt they asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce hist wife?”ts3 He answered them,t “What did Moses command you?”4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her.”ts5 But Jesus said to them, “He wrote this commandment for you because of your hard hearts.t6 But from the beginning of creation hesmade them male and female.s7 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother,s8 and the two will become one flesh.ss So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
10 In the house once again, the disciples asked him about this.11 Sot he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”s

Jesus and Little Children

13 Nowt people were bringing little children to him for him to touch,t but the disciples scolded those who brought them.st14 But when Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.s15 I tell you the truth,t whoever does not receives the kingdom of God like a childs will nevert enter it.”

16 After he took the children in his arms, he placed his hands on them and blessed them.

The Rich Man

17 Nowt as Jesusts was starting out on his way, someone ran up to him, fell on his knees, and said, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”s18 Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good?s No one is good except God alone.19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,do not defraud, honor your father and mother.’”s20 The mant said to him, “Teacher, I have wholeheartedly obeyedt all these lawsts since my youth.”s21 As Jesus looked at him, he felt love for him and said, “You lack one thing. Go, sell whatever you have and give the moneyt to the poor, and you will have treasures in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

22 But at this statement, the mant looked sad and went away sorrowful, for he was very rich.t
23 Thent Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!”24 The disciples were astonished at these words. But again Jesus said to them,t “Children, how hard it iss to enter the kingdom of God!25 It is easier for a camels to go through the eye of a needles than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”26 They were even more astonished and saidt to one another, “Thent who can be saved?”s

27 Jesus looked at them and replied, “This is impossible for mere humans,t but not for God; all things are possible for God.”
28 Peter began to speak to him, “Look,s we have left everything to follow you!”t29 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth,t there is no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the gospel30 who will not receive in this aget a hundred times as much – homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, fields, all with persecutionst – and in the age to come, eternal life.s

31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

Third Prediction of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection

32 They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem.s Jesus was going ahead of them, and they were amazed, but those who followed were afraid. He took the twelve aside again and began to tell them what was going to happen to him.33 “Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and experts in the law.t They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles.

34 They will mock him, spit on him, flogt him severely, and kill him. Yett after three days,s he will rise again.”

The Request of James and John

35 Thent James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”36 He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”37 They said to him, “Permit one of us to sit at your right hand and the other at your left in your glory.”38 But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I experience?”t39 They said to him, “We are able.”s Then Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism I experience,

40 but to sit at my right or at my left is not mine to give. It is for those for whom it has been prepared.”s
41 Nowt when the other tent heard this,t they became angry with James and John.42 Jesus called them and said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions use their authority over them.43 But it is not this way among you. Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant,44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slavet of all.

45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransoms for many.”

Healing Blind Bartimaeus

46 They came to Jericho.s As Jesust and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.47 When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to shout,t “Jesus, Son of David,s have mercys on me!”48 Many scoldedt him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” Sot they called the blind man and said to him, “Have courage! Get up! He is calling you.”50 He threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus.51 Thent Jesus said to him,t “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied, “Rabbi,t let me see again.”t

52 Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has healed you.” Immediately he regainedt his sight and followed him on the road.
