Markus 10

Jesus talar om äktenskap och skilsmässa

1 Sedan lämnade Jesus Galileen och gick söderut mot Judeen och kom in i området öster om Jordan. Stora folkmassor samlades omkring honom igen, och som vanligt undervisade han dem.

2 Då kom några fariseert för att diskutera med Jesus och försöka få honom att säga något som de kunde sätta fast honom för. De frågade: "Anser du att en mant har rätt att skilja sig från sin fru?"

3 Då sa Jesus: "Vilka regler gav Mose er om skilsmässa?"

4 De svarade: "Han bestämde att det enda en man behöver göra är att skriva ett intyg som bevis på skilsmässan. Sedan kan han skicka iväg kvinnan.t"
5 "Och varför gav Mose er den regeln?" fortsatte Jesus. "Jo, därför att han kände era hårda och onda hjärtan.6 Men det var inte så Gud hade tänkt från början. Gud skapade människan till man och kvinna,t och7 därför ska en man lämna sina föräldrar och hålla sig till sin fru,8 så att de två blir ett.t De är alltså inte längre två utan ett.

9 Och vad Gud har förenat, får människan inte skilja åt."

10 När de sedan kom till huset där de bodde, ville hans efterföljare veta mer om detta.
11 Han sa då till dem: "Den man som skiljer sig från sin fru och gifter sig med en annan, han är otrogen.t

12 Och om en frånskild kvinna gifter om sig med en annan, då är hon otrogen."

Jesus ber för barnen

13 Några föräldrar kom nu till Jesus med sina små barn för att han skulle röra vid dem och be för dem. Men hans efterföljare körde bort dem.
14 När Jesus såg vad som hände blev han arg. "Skicka inte iväg dem", sa han till sina efterföljare. "Låt barnen komma till mig, för alla som vill tillhöra Guds eget folk måste bli som de.t

15 Ja, jag försäkrar er, att den som inte blir som ett litet barn kommer överhuvudtaget inte att få tillhöra Guds eget folk."

16 Så tog han barnen i famnen och la händerna på dem och bad sin Far i himlen att ge dem allt gott.

Jesus talar med en rik man

17 När han sedan skulle fortsätta sin väg kom en man springande och föll på knä framför honom och sa: "Gode Mästare, vad ska jag göra för att få evigt liv?"
18 "Varför kallar du mig god?" frågade Jesus. "Det finns bara en som är god, och det är Gud.

19 Och hans bud kan du redan: 'Du ska inte mörda, Du ska inte vara otrogen i ditt äktenskap, Du ska inte stjäla, Du ska inte ljuga eller vittna falskt. Du ska inte lura av någon det som är hans, Visa respekt för dina föräldrar.t' "

20 "Mästare", svarade mannen, "alla dessa bud har jag hållit ända sedan jag var ung."

21 Då fylldes Jesus av kärlek och såg på honom och sa: "Det är bara en sak till du behöver göra. Gå och sälj allt du äger och ge pengarna åt de fattiga. Då ska du få en skatt i himlen. Kom sedan och följ mig."

22 Men när mannen hörde det mörknade hans ansikte och han gick bedrövad bort, för han var mycket rik.

23 Jesus såg sig omkring och vände sig sedan till sina efterföljare och sa: "Hur svårt är det inte för den som har pengar att få tillhöra Guds eget folk!t"
24 Jesus såg att hans efterföljare blev alldeles förskräckta över det han sa och fortsatte: "Ja, hur svårt är det inte att få tillhöra Guds eget folk.

25 Det är faktiskt lättare för en kamel att komma igenom ett nålsöga än för en rik att underordna sig Gud så att han får tillhöra Guds eget folk."

26 Detta påstående gjorde hans efterföljare ännu mer förskräckta och de sa till varandra: "Vem i all världen kan då bli räddad?"

27 Jesus såg på dem och sa: "Ingen, mänskligt sett. Men för Gud är allting möjligt. Han kan rädda vem som helst."

28 Då sa Petrus till honom: "Vi har lämnat allt för att följa dig."
29 "Ja", svarade Jesus, "och jag försäkrar er, att var och en som lämnar hus eller syskon eller föräldrar eller barn eller åkrar för att följa mig på grund av sin tro på det glada budskapet,30 han ska få mångdubbelt igen. Han ska få hus och syskon och mammor och barn och åkrar redan här i tiden, mitt under förföljelser. Och dessutom ska han få evigt liv i den kommande världen.

31 Många som idag har låg status ska vara bland de främsta i Guds nya värld, medan andra, som idag är betydelsefulla, måste hålla sig i bakgrunden."

Jesus förutsäger för tredje gången att han ska dö

32 Jesus samlade då sina tolv närmaste efterföljare och började än en gång förklara allt som skulle hända med honom.33 "Vi är nu på väg till Jerusalem", sa han. "Där kommer jag, Människosonent, att bli förrådd och överlämnad till översteprästerna och laglärarnat, och de ska döma mig till döden och överlämna mig till de romerska myndigheternat.

34 Romarna ska sedan håna mig och spotta på mig, piska mig och till sist döda mig. Men efter tret dagar ska jag uppstå från de döda igen."

Jakob och Johannes vill ha hedersplatserna

35 Då gick Jakob och Johannes, Sebedaios söner, fram till honom och sa: "Mästare, vi vill be dig om en sak."

36 "Vad då?" frågade han.

37 De sa: "Låt oss få sitta på hedersplatserna närmast dig när du börjar regera som kung, en på höger sida och en på vänster."t

38 Men Jesus sa till dem: "Ni vet inte vad ni ber om! Klarar ni verkligen att gå igenom det jag måste gå igenom? Kan ni uthärda de fruktansvärda lidanden som jag måste uthärda?"
39 Då sa Jesus: "Ni kommer att få gå igenom samma sak som jag, och lida precis som jag,

40 men jag har ingen rätt att bestämma vilka som ska sitta på min högra och på min vänstra sida. De platserna är reserverade för dem som min Far i himlen väljer ut."
41 När de tio andra närmaste efterföljarna hörde vad Jakob och Johannes bad om, blev de upprörda.42 Men Jesus samlade dem och sa: "I den här världen uppträder kungarna som tyranner, och härskarna har all makt över dem som står under dem.43 Men så får det inte gå till bland er. Den av er som vill vara ledare måste vara de andras tjänare,44 och den som vill vara den förste måste vara allas slav.

45 Följ mitt exempel. Jag, Människosonent, har inte kommit för att bli tjänad, utan för att tjäna andra. Jag har kommit för att ge mitt liv och köpa människor fria från deras slaveri under synden."

Jesus botar den blinde Bartimaios utanför Jeriko

46 På sin väg mot Jerusalem kom sedan Jesus och hans efterföljare till staden Jeriko. Och när de var på väg ut från staden tillsammans med en stor folkmassa, satt en blind tiggare som hette Bartimaios (son till Timaios) vid vägkanten.

47 När Bartimaios fick höra att det var Jesus från Nasaret som kom, började han ropa: "Jesus, du som ska ärva kung Davids tron,t ha medlidande med mig!"

48 Folk försökte få honom att hålla tyst, men han ropade bara ännu högre: "Du som ska ärva kung Davids tron, ha medlidande med mig!"
49 När Jesus hörde detta, stannade han och sa: "Be honom komma hit!" Då ropade de på den blinda mannen och sa: "Lugna ner dig. Res på dig och kom. Jesus ropar på dig."

50 Och Bartimaios slängde av sig sin mantel och hoppade upp och kom fram till Jesus.
51 "Vad vill du att jag ska göra för dig?" frågade Jesus.
"Mästare", sa Bartimaios, "jag vill kunna se igen!"

52 Då sa Jesus till honom: "Gå! Din tro har botat dig." Och genast kunde mannen se! Sedan följde han efter Jesus på vägen.

Mark 10

Divorce

1 Thent Jesust left that place and went to the region of Judea ands beyond the Jordan River.t Again crowds gathered to him, and again, as was his custom, he taught them.2 Then some Phariseesss came, and to test himt they asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce hist wife?”ts3 He answered them,t “What did Moses command you?”4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her.”ts5 But Jesus said to them, “He wrote this commandment for you because of your hard hearts.t6 But from the beginning of creation hesmade them male and female.s7 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother,s8 and the two will become one flesh.ss So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
10 In the house once again, the disciples asked him about this.11 Sot he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”s

Jesus and Little Children

13 Nowt people were bringing little children to him for him to touch,t but the disciples scolded those who brought them.st14 But when Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.s15 I tell you the truth,t whoever does not receives the kingdom of God like a childs will nevert enter it.”

16 After he took the children in his arms, he placed his hands on them and blessed them.

The Rich Man

17 Nowt as Jesusts was starting out on his way, someone ran up to him, fell on his knees, and said, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”s18 Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good?s No one is good except God alone.19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,do not defraud, honor your father and mother.’”s20 The mant said to him, “Teacher, I have wholeheartedly obeyedt all these lawsts since my youth.”s21 As Jesus looked at him, he felt love for him and said, “You lack one thing. Go, sell whatever you have and give the moneyt to the poor, and you will have treasures in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

22 But at this statement, the mant looked sad and went away sorrowful, for he was very rich.t
23 Thent Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!”24 The disciples were astonished at these words. But again Jesus said to them,t “Children, how hard it iss to enter the kingdom of God!25 It is easier for a camels to go through the eye of a needles than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”26 They were even more astonished and saidt to one another, “Thent who can be saved?”s

27 Jesus looked at them and replied, “This is impossible for mere humans,t but not for God; all things are possible for God.”
28 Peter began to speak to him, “Look,s we have left everything to follow you!”t29 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth,t there is no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the gospel30 who will not receive in this aget a hundred times as much – homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, fields, all with persecutionst – and in the age to come, eternal life.s

31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

Third Prediction of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection

32 They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem.s Jesus was going ahead of them, and they were amazed, but those who followed were afraid. He took the twelve aside again and began to tell them what was going to happen to him.33 “Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and experts in the law.t They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles.

34 They will mock him, spit on him, flogt him severely, and kill him. Yett after three days,s he will rise again.”

The Request of James and John

35 Thent James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”36 He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”37 They said to him, “Permit one of us to sit at your right hand and the other at your left in your glory.”38 But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I experience?”t39 They said to him, “We are able.”s Then Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism I experience,

40 but to sit at my right or at my left is not mine to give. It is for those for whom it has been prepared.”s
41 Nowt when the other tent heard this,t they became angry with James and John.42 Jesus called them and said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions use their authority over them.43 But it is not this way among you. Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant,44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slavet of all.

45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransoms for many.”

Healing Blind Bartimaeus

46 They came to Jericho.s As Jesust and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.47 When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to shout,t “Jesus, Son of David,s have mercys on me!”48 Many scoldedt him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” Sot they called the blind man and said to him, “Have courage! Get up! He is calling you.”50 He threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus.51 Thent Jesus said to him,t “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied, “Rabbi,t let me see again.”t

52 Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has healed you.” Immediately he regainedt his sight and followed him on the road.
