1 و از آنجا برخاسته، از آن طرف اردن به نواحی یهودیه آمد. و گروهی باز نزدوی جمع شدند و او برحسب عادت خود، بازبدیشان تعلیم میداد.2 آنگاه فریسیان پیش آمده، از روی امتحان ازاو سوال نمودند که «آیا مرد را طلاق دادن زن خویش جایز است.»3 در جواب ایشان گفت: «موسی شما را چه فرموده است؟»4 گفتند: «موسی اجازت داد که طلاق نامه بنویسند و رهاکنند.»5 عیسی در جواب ایشان گفت: «بهسبب سنگدلی شما این حکم را برای شما نوشت.6 لیکن از ابتدای خلقت، خدا ایشان را مرد و زن آفرید.7 از آن جهت باید مرد پدر و مادر خود را ترک کرده، با زن خویش بپیوندد،8 و این دو یک تن خواهند بود چنانکه از آن پس دو نیستند بلکه یک جسد.9 پس آنچه خدا پیوست، انسان آن راجدا نکند.»10 و در خانه باز شاگردانش از این مقدمه ازوی سوال نمودند.11 بدیشان گفت: «هرکه زن خود را طلاق دهد و دیگری را نکاح کند، برحق وی زنا کرده باشد.12 و اگر زن از شوهر خود جداشود و منکوحه دیگری گردد، مرتکب زنا شود.»13 و بچه های کوچک را نزد او آوردند تاایشان را لمس نماید؛ اما شاگردان آورندگان رامنع کردند.14 چون عیسی این را بدید، خشم نموده، بدیشان گفت: «بگذارید که بچه های کوچک نزد من آیند و ایشان را مانع نشوید، زیراملکوت خدا از امثال اینها است.15 هرآینه به شما میگویم هرکه ملکوت خدا را مثل بچه کوچک قبول نکند، داخل آن نشود.»16 پس ایشان را در آغوش کشید و دست بر ایشان نهاده، برکت داد.17 چون به راه میرفت، شخصی دوان دوان آمده، پیش او زانو زده، سوال نمود که «ای استادنیکو چه کنم تا وارث حیات جاودانی شوم؟18 عیسی بدو گفت: «چرا مرا نیکو گفتی و حال آنکه کسی نیکو نیست جز خدا فقط؟19 احکام را می دانی، زنا مکن، قتل مکن، دزدی مکن، شهادت دروغ مده، دغابازی مکن، پدر و مادر خود راحرمت دار.»20 او در جواب وی گفت: «ای استاد، این همه را از طفولیت نگاه داشتم.»21 عیسی به وی نگریسته، او را محبت نمود وگفت: «تو را یک چیز ناقص است: برو و آنچه داری بفروش و به فقرا بده که در آسمان گنجی خواهی یافت و بیا صلیب را برداشته، مرا پیروی کن.»22 لیکن او از این سخن ترش رو و محزون گشته، روانه گردید زیرا اموال بسیار داشت.23 آنگاه عیسی گرداگرد خود نگریسته، به شاگردان خود گفت: «چه دشوار است که توانگران داخل ملکوت خدا شوند.»24 چون شاگردانش از سخنان او در حیرت افتادند، عیسی باز توجه نموده، بدیشان گفت: «ای فرزندان، چه دشوار است دخول آنانی که به مال و اموال توکل دارند در ملکوت خدا!25 سهل تر است که شتر به سوراخ سوزن درآید از اینکه شخص دولتمند به ملکوت خدا داخل شود!»26 ایشان بغایت متحیرگشته، با یکدیگر میگفتند: «پس که میتواندنجات یابد؟»27 عیسی به ایشان نظر کرده، گفت: «نزد انسان محال است لیکن نزد خدا نیست زیراکه همهچیز نزد خدا ممکن است.»28 پطرس بدوگفتن گرفت که «اینک ما همهچیز را ترک کرده، تورا پیروی کردهایم.»29 عیسی جواب فرمود: «هرآینه به شما میگویم کسی نیست که خانه یابرادران یا خواهران یا پدر یا مادر یا زن یا اولاد یااملاک را بجهت من و انجیل ترک کند،30 جزاینکه الحال در این زمان صد چندان یابد ازخانهها و برادران و خواهران و مادران و فرزندان و املاک با زحمات، و در عالم آینده حیات جاودانی را.31 اما بسا اولین که آخرین میگردندو آخرین اولین.»32 و چون در راه به سوی اورشلیم میرفتند وعیسی در جلو ایشان میخرامید، در حیرت افتادند و چون از عقب او میرفتند، ترس بر ایشان مستولی شد. آنگاه آن دوازده را باز به کنارکشیده، شروع کرد به اطلاع دادن به ایشان از آنچه بر وی وارد میشد،33 که «اینک به اورشلیم میرویم و پسر انسان بهدست روسای کهنه وکاتبان تسلیم شود و بر وی فتوای قتل دهند و اورا به امتها سپارند،34 و بر وی سخریه نموده، تازیانهاش زنند و آب دهان بر وی افکنده، او راخواهند کشت و روز سوم خواهد برخاست.»35 آنگاه یعقوب و یوحنا دو پسر زبدی نزدوی آمده، گفتند: «ای استاد، میخواهیم آنچه ازتو سوال کنیم برای ما بکنی.»36 ایشان را گفت: «چه میخواهید برای شما بکنم؟»37 گفتند: «به ما عطا فرما که یکی به طرف راست و دیگری برچپ تو در جلال تو بنشینیم.»38 عیسی ایشان راگفت: «نمی فهمید آنچه میخواهید. آیا میتوانیدآن پیالهای را که من مینوشم، بنوشید و تعمیدی را که من میپذیرم، بپذیرید؟»39 وی را گفتند: «میتوانیم.» عیسی بدیشان گفت: «پیالهای را که من مینوشم خواهید آشامید و تعمیدی را که من میپذیرم خواهید پذیرفت.40 لیکن نشستن بهدست راست و چپ من از آن من نیست که بدهم جز آنانی را که از بهر ایشان مهیا شده است.»41 وآن ده نفر چون شنیدند بر یعقوب و یوحنا خشم گرفتند.42 عیسی ایشان را خوانده، به ایشان گفت: «میدانید آنانی که حکام امتها شمرده میشوند برایشان ریاست میکنند و بزرگانشان بر ایشان مسلطند.43 لیکن در میان شما چنین نخواهد بود، بلکه هرکه خواهد در میان شما بزرگ شود، خادم شما باشد.44 و هرکه خواهد مقدم بر شما شود، غلام همه باشد.45 زیرا که پسر انسان نیز نیامده تامخدوم شود بلکه تا خدمت کند و تا جان خود رافدای بسیاری کند.»46 و وارد اریحا شدند. و وقتی که او باشاگردان خود و جمعی کثیر از اریحا بیرون میرفت، بارتیمائوس کور، پسر تیماوس بر کناره راه نشسته، گدایی میکرد.47 چون شنید که عیسی ناصری است، فریاد کردن گرفت و گفت: «ای عیسی ابن داود بر من ترحم کن.»48 و چندانکه بسیاری او را نهیب میدادند که خاموش شود، زیادتر فریاد برمی آورد که پسر داودا بر من ترحم فرما.49 پس عیسی ایستاده، فرمود تا او را بخوانند. آنگاه آن کور را خوانده، بدو گفتند: «خاطر جمع دار برخیز که تو را میخواند.»50 درساعت ردای خود را دور انداخته، بر پا جست ونزد عیسی آمد.51 عیسی به وی التفات نموده، گفت: «چه میخواهی از بهر تو نمایم؟» کور بدوگفت: «یا سیدی آنکه بینایی یابم.»52 عیسی بدوگفت: «برو که ایمانت تو را شفا داده است.» درساعت بینا گشته، از عقب عیسی در راه روانه شد.

MARK 10

Teaching about Divorce

(Matthew 19.1-12; Luke 16.18)

1 After Jesus left, he went to Judea and then on to the other side of the Jordan River. Once again large crowds came to him, and as usual, he taught them.
2 Some Pharisees wanted to test Jesus. So they came up to him and asked if it was right for a man to divorce his wife.

3 Jesus asked them, “What does the Law of Moses say about this?”

4  t They answered, “Moses allows a man to write out divorce papers and send his wife away.”
5 Jesus replied, “Moses gave you this law because you are so heartless. 6 t But in the beginning God made a man and a woman. 7 t That's why a man leaves his father and mother and gets married. 8 He becomes like one person with his wife. Then they are no longer two people, but one.

9 And no one should separate a couple that God has joined together.”
10 When Jesus and his disciples were back in the house, they asked him about what he had said. 11 t He told them, “A man who divorces his wife and marries someone else is unfaithful to his wife.

12 A woman who divorces her husbandt and marries again is also unfaithful.”

Jesus Blesses Little Children

(Matthew 19.13-15; Luke 18.15-17)

13 Some people brought their children to Jesus so he could bless them by placing his hands on them. But his disciples told the people to stop bothering him.
14 When Jesus saw this, he became angry and said, “Let the children come to me! Don't try to stop them. People who are like these little children belong to the kingdom of God.t 15 t I promise you that you cannot get into God's kingdom, unless you accept it the way a child does.”

16 Then Jesus took the children in his arms and blessed them by placing his hands on them.

A Rich Man

(Matthew 19.16-30; Luke 18.18-30)

17 As Jesus was walking down a road, a man ran up to him. He knelt down, and asked, “Good teacher, what can I do to have eternal life?”
18 Jesus replied, “Why do you call me good? Only God is good.

19 t You know the commandments. ‘Do not murder. Be faithful in marriage. Do not steal. Do not tell lies about others. Do not cheat. Respect your father and mother.’ ”

20 The man answered, “Teacher, I have obeyed all these commandments since I was a young man.”

21 Jesus looked closely at the man. He liked him and said, “There's one thing you still need to do. Go sell everything you own. Give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come with me.”

22 When the man heard Jesus say this, he went away gloomy and sad because he was very rich.
23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “It's hard for rich people to get into God's kingdom!” 24 The disciples were shocked to hear this. So Jesus told them again, “It's terribly hardt to get into God's kingdom!

25 In fact, it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into God's kingdom.”

26 Jesus' disciples were even more amazed. They asked each other, “How can anyone ever be saved?”

27 Jesus looked at them and said, “There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything.”

28 Peter replied, “Remember, we left everything to be your followers!”

29 Jesus told him:
You can be sure that anyone who gives up home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or land for me and for the good news 30 will be rewarded. In this world they will be given 100 times as many houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and pieces of land, though they will also be mistreated. And in the world to come, they will have eternal life.

31 t But many who are now first will be last, and many who are now last will be first.

Jesus Again //Tells about His Death

(Matthew 20.17-19; Luke 18.31-34)

32 The disciples were confused as Jesus led them toward Jerusalem, and his other followers were afraid. Once again, Jesus took the twelve disciples aside and told them what was going to happen to him. He said:
33 We are now on our way to Jerusalem where the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses. They will sentence him to death and hand him over to foreigners, t

34 who will make fun of him and spit on him. They will beat him and kill him. But three days later he will rise to life.

The Request of James //and John

(Matthew 20.20-28)

35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, will you do us a favor?”
36 Jesus asked them what they wanted,

37 and they answered, “When you come into your glory, please let one of us sit at your right side and the other at your left.”t

38  t Jesus told them, “You don't really know what you're asking! Are you able to drink from the cupt that I must soon drink from or be baptized as I must be baptized?”t

39 “Yes, we are!” James and John answered.
Then Jesus replied, “You certainly will drink from the cup from which I must drink. And you will be baptized just as I must!

40 But it isn't for me to say who will sit at my right side and at my left. This is for God to decide.”
41 When the ten other disciples heard this, they were angry with James and John.

42 t But Jesus called the disciples together and said:
You know that those foreigners who call themselves kings like to order their people around. And their great leaders have full power over the people they rule. 43 t But don't act like them. If you want to be great, you must be the servant of all the others. 44 And if you want to be first, you must be everyone's slave.

45 t The Son of Man did not come to be a slave master, but a slave who will give his life to rescuet many people.

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

(Matthew 20.29-34; Luke 18.35-43)

48 Many people told the man to stop, but he shouted even louder, “Son of David, have pity on me!”

49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him over!”
They called out to the blind man and said, “Don't be afraid! Come on! He is calling for you.”

50 The man threw off his coat as he jumped up and ran to Jesus.

51 Jesus asked, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man answered, “Master, t I want to see!”

52 Jesus told him, “You may go. Your eyes are healed because of your faith.”
At once the man could see, and he went down the road with Jesus.
