MARCOS 12

Ang Sambingay Mahitungod sa mga Saop

(Mt. 21:33-46; Lu. 20:9-19)

1 Unya miingon si Jesus kanila pinaagi sa mga sambingay,2 Sa panahon na sa pagpamupo sa ubas, gisugo niya ang usa ka sulugoon ngadto sa mga saop aron sa pagkuha sa iyang bahin.3 Pag-abot didto sa sulugoon, gidakop nila kini ug gikulata, ug gipapauli nga walay dala.4 Gisugo na usab sa tag-iya ang usa pa ka sulugoon, apan gipakaulawan kini nila ug gibunalan sa ulo.5 Nagsugo pa gayod siya ug usa pa ka sulugoon ug ila kining gipatay. Daghan pang mga sulugoon ang gipadala sa tag-iya. Ang uban gikulata nila, ug ang uban gipatay.6 Sa kataposan, wala na siyay sulugoon nga masugo. Busa gisugo niya ang iyang pinalanggang anak. Kay naghunahuna siya nga tahoron nila ang iyang anak.7 Apan pagkakita sa mga saop sa iyang anak, nag-ingnanay sila,

8  Busa gidakop nila siya ug gipatay. Gilabay nila ang iyang patay nga lawas sa gawas sa ubasan."
9  add Ug miingon si Jesus, 10  add Nagpadayon si Jesus sa pag-ingon,

11 Mao kini ang gihimo sa Ginoo,

12 Nasabtan sa kadagkoan sa mga Judio nga sila gayod ang gitumong niadtong sambingay. Buot unta nilang dakpon si Jesus, apan nahadlok sila sa mga tawo. Busa gipasagdan na lang nila siya, ug nanglakaw sila.

Ang Pangutana Mahitungod sa Pagbayad ug Buhis

(Mt. 22:15-22; Lu. 20:20-26)

13 Gisugo nila ang pipila ka mga Pariseo ug pipila ka tawo ni Herodes sa pagbitik kang Jesus pinaagi sa iyang gipamulong aron ikasumbong nila siya.14 Busa miadto sila kang Jesus ug nangutana,15 Apan tungod kay nasayod si Jesus sa ilang malimbongon nga tuyo, miingon siya kanila,16 Busa gidad-an nila siya. Ug nangutana siya kanila, Mitubag sila,

17 Ug miingon si Jesus kanila, Ug natingala gayod sila kaniya.

Ang Pangutana Mahitungod sa Pagkabanhaw

(Mt. 22:23-33; Lu. 20:27-40)

18 Unya may mga Saduseo nga miduol kang Jesus. Kining mga tawhana wala nagatuo nga may pagkabanhaw. Nangutana sila,20 Karon, may pito ka managsoon nga lalaki. Ang kamagulangan nakapangasawa, ug namatay nga walay anak.21 Busa ang balo gipangasawa sa sunod nga igsoon ug namatay usab kini nga wala makapaanak niadto nga babaye. Busa ang balo gipangasawa na usab sa ikatulo ug mao gihapon ang nahitabo,22 hangtod sa ikapito nga namatay usab nga wala gayod makapaanak. Sa kataposan ang babaye namatay usab.

23 Karon, kon moabot na ang pagkabanhaw, kang kinsa man siyang asawa, kay silang pito nakapangasawa man kaniya?"
24 Miingon si Jesus kanila,25 Kay kon mabanhaw na ang mga patay, dili na sila magminyoay, tungod kay sama na sila sa mga anghel sa langit.26  Karon, ang mahitungod sa mga patay nga mabanhaw: wala ba kamo makabasa sa sinulat ni Moises mahitungod sa nagdilaab nga sampinit, diin miingon ang Dios kang Moises, ? + 12:26 Tan-awa usab ang Exo. 3:6.

27 Ang Dios dili Dios sa mga patay, kondili Dios sa mga buhi. Busa nasayop gayod kamo."

Ang Labing Mahinungdanon nga Sugo

(Mt. 22:34-40; Lu. 10:25-28)

28 May usa ka magtutudlo sa Kasugoan didto nga nakadungog sa ilang panaglantugi. Nadungog niya nga maayo ang tubag ni Jesus. Busa miduol siya ug nangutana usab,29 Mitubag si Jesus,30  Busa higugmaa ang Ginoo nga imong Dios sa tibuok mong kasingkasing, sa tibuok mong kalag, sa tibuok mong hunahuna ug sa tibuok mong kusog.> + 12:29-30 Tan-awa usab ang Deu. 6:4-5. 31  Ang ikaduha nga labing mahinungdanon nga sugo mao kini: + 12:31 Tan-awa usab ang Lev. 19:18. Wala nay sugo nga labaw pa niining duha."32 Miingon ang magtutudlo sa Kasugoan kaniya,33 Ug ang paghigugma kaniya sa tibuok nga kasingkasing, sa tibuok nga kusog, ug sa tibuok nga hunahuna, ug ang paghigugma sa atong isigka-tawo sama sa paghigugma nato sa atong kaugalingon mas mahinungdanon kaysa tanan nga halad nga sinunog ug uban pa nga mga halad."

34 Sa pagkadungog ni Jesus nga husto gayod ang iyang tubag, miingon siya kaniya, Pagkahuman niadto wala na gayoy nangahas sa pagpangutana kang Jesus.

Ang Pangutana Mahitungod sa Cristo

(Mt. 22:41-46; Lu. 20:41-44)

35 Sa dihang nagtudlo si Jesus didto sa templo miingon siya,

36 Si David mismo miingon pinaagi sa Espiritu Santo,

37  Kon gitawag siya ni David nga iyang Ginoo, unsaon nga kaliwat lang siya ni David?"
Malipayon nga naminaw kang Jesus ang daghan gayod nga mga tawo.

Nagpasidaan si Jesus Mahitungod sa mga Magtutudlo sa Kasugoan

(Mt. 23:1-36; Lu. 20:45-47)

38 Sa iyang pagpanudlo miingon siya,39 Sa mga simbahan o sa mga kombira, ginapili gayod nila ang mga lingkoranan nga alang sa mga pinasidunggan.

40 Ginailog nila ang mga kabtangan sa mga balo nga babaye, ug ginatabon-tabonan lang nila ang ilang daotang binuhatan pinaagi sa tag-as nga mga pag-ampo. Kini sila makadawat ug mas bug-at nga silot."

Ang Halad sa Babaye nga Balo

(Lu. 21:1-4)

41 Milingkod si Jesus atbang sa sudlanan sa kuwarta sa templo ug gipanid-an niya ang mga tawo nga naghulog sa ilang mga kuwarta. Daghan ang mga adunahan nga naghulog ug dagko nga mga kantidad.42 Unya may miduol nga usa ka kabos nga babayeng balo ug mihulog ug duha lang ka sinsilyo.43 Gitawag ni Jesus ang iyang mga sumusunod ug miingon siya kanila,44 Kay sila daghan ug kuwarta ug ang ilang gihatag bale-wala lang kanila; apan kadtong balo, bisan tuod kabos siya, gihatag niya ang tanan nga iyang kabuhian."

Mark 12

The Story About a Vineyard

1-2 Then Jesus started telling them stories. "A man planted a vineyard. He fenced it, dug a winepress, erected a watchtower, turned it over to the farmhands, and went off on a trip. At the time for harvest, he sent a servant back to the farmhands to collect his profits.

3-5 "They grabbed him, beat him up, and sent him off empty-handed. So he sent another servant. That one they tarred and feathered. He sent another and that one they killed. And on and on, many others. Some they beat up, some they killed.

6 "Finally there was only one left: a beloved son. In a last-ditch effort, he sent him, thinking, 'Surely they will respect my son.'

7-8 "But those farmhands saw their chance. They rubbed their hands together in greed and said, 'This is the heir! Let's kill him and have it all for ourselves.' They grabbed him, killed him, and threw him over the fence.

9-11 "What do you think the owner of the vineyard will do? Right. He'll come and clean house. Then he'll assign the care of the vineyard to others. Read it for yourselves in Scripture:
That stone the masons threw out is now the cornerstone! This is God's work; we rub our eyes—we can hardly believe it!"

12 They wanted to lynch him then and there but, intimidated by public opinion, held back. They knew the story was about them. They got away from there as fast as they could.

Paying Taxes to Caesar

13-14 They sent some Pharisees and followers of Herod to bait him, hoping to catch him saying something incriminating. They came up and said, "Teacher, we know you have integrity, that you are indifferent to public opinion, don't pander to your students, and teach the way of God accurately. Tell us: Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"

15-16 He knew it was a trick question, and said, "Why are you playing these games with me? Bring me a coin and let me look at it." They handed him one.
"This engraving—who does it look like? And whose name is on it?"
"Caesar," they said.

17 Jesus said, "Give Caesar what is his, and give God what is his."
Their mouths hung open, speechless.

Our Intimacies Will Be with God

18-23 Some Sadducees, the party that denies any possibility of resurrection, came up and asked, "Teacher, Moses wrote that if a man dies and leaves a wife but no child, his brother is obligated to marry the widow and have children. Well, there once were seven brothers. The first took a wife. He died childless. The second married her. He died, and still no child. The same with the third. All seven took their turn, but no child. Finally the wife died. When they are raised at the resurrection, whose wife is she? All seven were her husband."

24-27 Jesus said, "You're way off base, and here's why: One, you don't know your Bibles; two, you don't know how God works. After the dead are raised up, we're past the marriage business. As it is with angels now, all our ecstasies and intimacies then will be with God. And regarding the dead, whether or not they are raised, don't you ever read the Bible? How God at the bush said to Moses, 'I am—not was—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? The living God is God of the living, not the dead. You're way, way off base."

The Most Important Commandment

28 One of the religion scholars came up. Hearing the lively exchanges of question and answer and seeing how sharp Jesus was in his answers, he put in his question: "Which is most important of all the commandments?"

29-31 Jesus said, "The first in importance is, 'Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.' And here is the second: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' There is no other commandment that ranks with these."

32-33 The religion scholar said, "A wonderful answer, Teacher! So lucid and accurate—that God is one and there is no other. And loving him with all passion and intelligence and energy, and loving others as well as you love yourself. Why, that's better than all offerings and sacrifices put together!"

34 When Jesus realized how insightful he was, he said, "You're almost there, right on the border of God's kingdom."
After that, no one else dared ask a question.

35-37 While he was teaching in the Temple, Jesus asked, "How is it that the religion scholars say that the Messiah is David's 'son,' when we all know that David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said,
God said to my Master, "Sit here at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet." "David here designates the Messiah 'my Master'—so how can the Messiah also be his 'son'?"
The large crowd was delighted with what they heard.

38-40 He continued teaching. "Watch out for the religion scholars. They love to walk around in academic gowns, preening in the radiance of public flattery, basking in prominent positions, sitting at the head table at every church function. And all the time they are exploiting the weak and helpless. The longer their prayers, the worse they get. But they'll pay for it in the end."

41-44 Sitting across from the offering box, he was observing how the crowd tossed money in for the collection. Many of the rich were making large contributions. One poor widow came up and put in two small coins—a measly two cents. Jesus called his disciples over and said, "The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they'll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn't afford—she gave her all."
