Marcu 12

1 Apoi a început să le vorbească în pilde:
– Un om a plantat o vie. A împrejmuit-o cu un gard, a săpat un teasc și a construit un turn de pază.t Apoi a arendat-o unor viticultori și a plecat într-o călătorie.2 La vremea roadelor a trimis un sclav la viticultori ca să ia de la ei partea cuvenită din roadele viei.

3 Viticultorii însă l-au apucat, l-au bătut și l-au trimis înapoi cu mâinile goale.4 A trimis din nou la ei un alt sclav, dar și pe acesta l-au bătut peste cap și l-au înjosit.5 A trimis apoi un altul, dar pe acela l-au omorât, și apoi încă mulți alții, dintre care pe unii i-au bătut, iar pe alții i-au omorât.

6 Singurul pe care-l mai avea era un fiu preaiubit. În cele din urmă, l-a trimis la ei, spunându-și: „Pe fiul meu îl vor respecta!“

7 Dar viticultorii aceia și-au zis între ei: „Acesta este moștenitorul! Haideți să-l omorâm, și moștenirea va fi a noastră!“8 Și l-au apucat, l-au omorât și l-au scos afară din vie.

9 Așadar, ce va face stăpânul viei? Va veni și-i va nimici pe viticultori, iar via o va da altora.

10 N-ați citit acest loc din Scriptură unde scrie:
„Piatra pe care au respins-o zidarii
a devenit piatra din capul unghiului.

11 Domnul a făcut acest lucru
și este minunat în ochii noștri!“?t

12 Ei au căutat să-L prindă, dar le-a fost frică de popor; căci ei știau că împotriva lor spusese Isus pilda. Așa că L-au lăsat și au plecat.

Tributul datorat Cezarului

13 I-au trimis la El pe câțiva dintre farisei și dintre irodienit ca să-L prindă în cursă cu vorba.

14 Ei au venit și I-au zis:
– Învățătorule, știm că ești corect, fără să-Ți pese de nimeni, căci nu cauți la fața omului, ci îi înveți pe oameni calea lui Dumnezeu în adevăr. Se cuvine să plătim tribut Cezaruluit sau nu? Să plătim sau să nu plătim?

15 El însă, înțelegând ipocrizia lor, le-a zis:
– De ce Mă puneți la încercare? Aduceți-Mi un denart, să-l văd!

16 Ei I-au adus. Isus i-a întrebat:
– Chipul acesta și inscripția, ale cui sunt?
– Ale Cezarului, I-au răspuns ei.

17 Isus le-a zis:
– Dați deci Cezarului ce este al Cezarului, iar lui Dumnezeu ce este al lui Dumnezeu!t
Ei au rămas uimiți de El.

Despre înviere

18 Au venit la El saducheiit, care zic că nu există înviere, și L-au întrebat:

19 – Învățătorule, Moise ne-a scris că dacă fratele cuiva moare fără să aibă copii și-i rămâne astfel doar soția, fratele acestuia trebuie să se căsătorească cu văduva și să-i ridice un urmaș fratelui său.t20 Erau șapte frați. Primul și-a luat o soție, dar a murit fără să lase vreun urmaș.21 Al doilea s-a căsătorit cu văduva , dar și el a murit fără să lase vreun urmaș. Așa s-a întâmplat și cu al treilea.22 Și nici unul din cei șapte n-a lăsat vreun urmaș. Femeia a murit ultima dintre toți.23 La înviere, (când se vor scula,)t soția căruia dintre ei va fi ea? Căci toți șapte au avut-o de soție!

24 Isus le-a răspuns:
– Oare nu vă rătăciți voi tocmai pentru că nu cunoașteți nici Scripturile și nici puterea lui Dumnezeu?25 Căci atunci când se vor scula din morți, nici nu se vor mai însura, nici nu se vor mai mărita, ci vor fi ca îngerii din ceruri.26 Iar cu privire la faptul că cei morți sunt înviați, n-ați citit în cartea lui Moise, acolo unde scrie despre tufiș, cum i-a vorbit Dumnezeu și i-a zis: „Eu sunt Dumnezeul lui Avraam, Dumnezeul lui Isaac și Dumnezeul lui Iacov.“t?27 El nu este un Dumnezeu al celor morți, ci al celor vii! Sunteți foarte rătăciți!

Cea mai mare poruncă

28 Unul dintre cărturari venise și-i auzise discutând. Când a văzut că Isus le-a răspuns bine, L-a întrebat:
– Care este cea dintâi poruncă dintre toate?

29 Isus i-a răspuns:
– Cea dintâi poruncă este: „Ascultă, Israele! Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru, este singurul Domn.t30 Să-L iubești pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, cu toată inima ta, cu tot sufletul tău, cu toată mintea ta și cu toată puterea ta.“t(Aceasta este cea dintâi poruncă.)t31 Iar a doua este următoarea: „Să-l iubești pe semenul tău ca pe tine însuți.“t Nu există altă poruncă mai mare decât acestea.

32 Cărturarul I-a zis:
– Bine, Învățătorule! Este adevărat ceea ce ai spus, și anume că El este Unul singur, că nu este altul în afară de El33 și că a-L iubi pe El cu toată inima, cu toată priceperea și cu toată puterea și a-l iubi pe semenul tău ca pe tine însuți este mult mai mult decât toate arderile de tot și decât toate jertfele.

34 Când a văzut Isus că răspunsese cu înțelepciune, i-a zis:
– Tu nu ești departe de Împărăția lui Dumnezeu.
Și nimeni nu mai îndrăznea să-i pună vreo întrebare.

Al cui fiu este Cristos?

35 În timp ce dădea învățătură în Templu, Isus a întrebat:
– Cum de zic cărturarii despre Cristos că este fiul lui David?

36 David însuși, în Duhul Sfânt, spune:
„Domnul I-a zis Domnului meu:t
«Șezi la dreapta Mea,
până-Ți voi pune dușmanii
sub picioare!»“t

37 David însuși Îl numește „Domn“; deci cum este El fiul lui?
Mulțimea cea mare Îl asculta cu plăcere.

38 În învățătura Lui, spunea: „Feriți-vă de cărturari, cărora le place să umble în robe lungi, să fie salutați prin piețe39 și să li se dea scaunele de onoare în sinagogi și locurile de onoare la mese.40 Ei devorează casele văduvelor și fac rugăciuni lungi de ochii lumii. Aceștia vor primi o condamnare mult mai mare.“

Văduva săracă și dărnicia ei

41 S-a așezat în fața vistierieit Templului și se uita cum punea mulțimea bani în vistierie. Mulți din cei bogați puneau mult.42 A venit și o văduvă săracă și a pus două leptat, care fac un codrantest.

43 Isus i-a chemat pe ucenicii Lui și le-a zis: „Adevărat vă spun că această văduvă săracă a pus mai mult decât toți cei care au pus în vistierie,44 pentru că toți au pus din abundența lor, dar ea, din sărăcia ei, a pus tot ce avea, tot ce-i mai rămăsese ca să trăiască.“

MARK 12

Renters of a Vineyard

(Matthew 21.33-46; Luke 20.9-19)

1  t Jesus then told them this story:
A farmer once planted a vineyard. He built a wall around it and dug a pit to crush the grapes in. He also built a lookout tower. Then he rented out his vineyard and left the country.
2 When it was harvest time, he sent a servant to get his share of the grapes.

3 The renters grabbed the servant, beat him up, and sent him away without a thing.
4 The owner sent another servant, but the renters beat him on the head and insulted him terribly.

5 Then the man sent another servant, and they killed him. He kept sending servant after servant. They beat some of them and killed some.
6 The owner had a son he loved very much. Finally, he sent his son to the renters because he thought they would respect him. 7 But they said to themselves, “Someday he will own this vineyard. Let's kill him! That way we can have it all for ourselves.”

8 So they grabbed the owner's son, killed him, and threw his body out of the vineyard.
9 Jesus asked, “What do you think the owner of the vineyard will do? He will come and kill those renters and let someone else have his vineyard.

10 t You surely know that the Scriptures say,
‘The stone the builders
tossed aside
is now the most important
stone of all.

11 This is something
the Lord has done,
and it is amazing to us.’ ”

12 The leaders knew that Jesus was really talking about them, and they wanted to arrest him. But because they were afraid of the crowd, they let him alone and left.

Paying Taxes

(Matthew 22.15-22; Luke 20.20-26)

14 They went to him and said, “Teacher, we know that you are honest. You treat everyone with the same respect, no matter who they are. And you teach the truth about what God wants people to do. Tell us, should we pay taxes to the Emperor or not?”

15 Jesus knew what they were up to, and he said, “Why are you trying to test me? Show me a coin!”

16 They brought him a silver coin, and he asked, “Whose picture and name are on it?”
“The Emperor's,” they answered.

17 Then Jesus told them, “Give the Emperor what belongs to him and give God what belongs to God.” The men were amazed at Jesus.

Life in the Future World

(Matthew 22.23-33; Luke 20.27-40)

18  t The Sadducees did not believe that people would rise to life after death. So some of them came to Jesus and said:
19  t Teacher, Moses wrote that if a married man dies and has no children, his brother should marry the widow. Their first son would then be thought of as the son of the dead brother. 20 There were once seven brothers. The first one married, but died without having any children. 21 The second brother married his brother's widow, and he also died without having children. The same thing happened to the third brother, 22 and finally to all seven brothers. At last the woman died.

23 When God raises people from death, whose wife will this woman be? After all, she had been married to all seven brothers.

24 Jesus answered:
You are completely wrong! You don't know what the Scriptures teach. And you don't know anything about the power of God. 25 When God raises people to life, they won't marry. They will be like the angels in heaven. 26 t You surely know about people being raised to life. You know that in the story about Moses and the burning bush, God said, “I am the God worshiped by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”t

27 He isn't the God of the dead, but of the living. You Sadducees are all wrong.

The Most Important //Commandment

(Matthew 22.34-40; Luke 10.25-28)

28  t One of the teachers of the Law of Moses came up while Jesus and the Sadducees were arguing. When he heard Jesus give a good answer, he asked him, “What is the most important commandment?”
29  t Jesus answered, “The most important one says: ‘People of Israel, you have only one Lord and God. 30 You must love him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.’

31 t The second most important commandment says: ‘Love others as much as you love yourself.’ No other commandment is more important than these.”
32  t The man replied, “Teacher, you are certainly right to say there is only one God.

33 t It is also true that we must love God with all our heart, mind, and strength, and that we must love others as much as we love ourselves. These commandments are more important than all the sacrifices and offerings that we could possibly make.”

34 When Jesus saw that the man had given a sensible answer, he told him, “You are not far from God's kingdom.” After this, no one dared ask Jesus any more questions.

About David's Son

(Matthew 22.41-46; Luke 20.41-44)

36 t The Holy Spirit led David to say,
‘The Lord said to my Lord:
Sit at my right sidet
until I make your enemies
into a footstool for you.’

37 If David called the Messiah his Lord, how can the Messiah be his son?”t
The large crowd enjoyed listening to Jesus teach.

Jesus Condemns the Pharisees //and the Teachers of the Law of Moses

(Matthew 23.1-36; Luke 20.45-47)

38 As Jesus was teaching, he said:
Guard against the teachers of the Law of Moses! They love to walk around in long robes and be greeted in the market. 39 They like the front seats in the synagogues and the best seats at banquets.

40 But they cheat widows out of their homes and pray long prayers just to show off. They will be punished most of all.

A Widow's Offering

(Luke 21.1-4)

43 Jesus told his disciples to gather around him. Then he said:
I tell you that this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 44 Everyone else gave what they didn't need. But she is very poor and gave everything she had. Now she doesn't have a cent to live on.
