مَثَل تاكستان و باغبان

(متّی 33:21-46؛ لوقا 9:20-19)

1 عیسی به سخن خود ادامه داده و در قالب مَثَل به ایشان گفت: «مردی تاكستانی احداث كرد و دیواری دور آن كشید. در داخل آن چَرخُشتی برای گرفتن آب انگور كند و یک بُرج هم برای آن ساخت، بعد آن را به باغبانان اجاره داد و خود به سفر رفت. 2 در موسم انگور، غلامی را نزد باغبانان فرستاد تا سهم خود را از محصول تاكستان بگیرد. 3 امّا آنها آن غلام را گرفته كتک زدند و دست خالی بازگردانیدند. 4 صاحب تاكستان، غلام دیگری نزد ایشان فرستاد. او را هم سنگسار كردند و سرش را شكستند و با بی‌احترامی برگردانیدند. 5 باز غلام دیگری فرستاد، او را هم كشتند. بسیاری از كسان دیگر را نیز همین‌طور، بعضی را زدند و بعضی را كشتند. 6 صاحب باغ، فقط یک نفر دیگر داشت كه بفرستد و آن هم پسر عزیز خودش بود. سرانجام او را فرستاد و پیش خود گفت: 'آنها احترام پسرم را نگاه خواهند داشت.' 7 امّا باغبانان به یكدیگر گفتند: 'این وارث است، بیایید او را بكشیم تا مِلک او مال خودمان بشود.' 8 پس پسر را گرفتند و او را كشتند و از تاكستان بیرون انداختند. 9 صاحب تاكستان چه خواهد كرد؟ او می‌آید این باغبانان را می‌کشد و تاكستان را به دیگران واگذار می‌کند.

10 مگر در كلام خدا نخوانده‌اید:
'آن سنگی كه معماران رد كردند،
به صورت سنگ اصلی بنا درآمده است،

11 این كار خداوند است
و به چشم ما عجیب می‌نماید!'»

12 رهبران یهود در صدد برآمدند عیسی را دستگیر كنند، چون فهمیدند روی سخن او با آنها بود، امّا از مردم می‌ترسیدند. پس او را ترک كردند و رفتند.

سؤال دربارهٔ پرداخت مالیات

(متّی 15:22-22؛ لوقا 20:20-26)

13 عدّه‌ای از فریسیان و طرفداران هیرودیس، فرستاده شدند تا عیسی را با سؤالات خویش به دام بیندازند. 14 آنها نزد او آمده گفتند: «ای استاد می‌دانیم كه تو شخص درستی هستی و از كسی طرفداری نمی‌کنی، چون به ظاهر اشخاص نگاه نمی‌کنی بلكه با راستی، راه خدا را تعلیم می‌دهی. آیا دادن مالیات به امپراتور روم جایز است یا خیر؟ آیا باید مالیات بدهیم یا نه؟» 15 عیسی به نیرنگ ایشان پی برد و فرمود: «چرا مرا امتحان می‌کنید؟ یک سکّهٔ نقره بیاورید تا ببینم.» 16 آنها برایش سکه‌ای آوردند. او به ایشان فرمود: «نقش و عنوان چه كسی روی آن است؟» جواب دادند: «نقش و عنوان قیصر.»

17 پس عیسی فرمود: «بسیار خوب، آنچه مال قیصر است به قیصر و آنچه مال خداست، به خدا بدهید.» و آنان از سخنان او تعجّب كردند.

سؤال دربارهٔ رستاخیز مردگان

(متّی 23:22-33؛ لوقا 27:20-40)

18 بعد صدوقیان نزد او آمدند. (این فرقه معتقد بودند كه پس از مرگ، رستاخیزی وجود ندارد.) آنها از عیسی پرسیدند: 19 «ای استاد، موسی برای ما نوشته است اگر مردی بمیرد و زنش بدون فرزند باشد، برادرش موظّف است، آن زن را بگیرد تا برای او فرزندانی بیاورد. 20 هفت برادر بودند، اولی زنی گرفت و بدون فرزند مرد. 21 بعد دومی آن زن را گرفت و او هم بدون فرزند مرد. همین‌طور سومی. 22 تا بالاخره هر هفت نفر مردند و هیچ فرزندی بجا نگذاشتند. بعد از همه، آن زن هم مرد. 23 در روز رستاخیز وقتی آنها دوباره زنده می‌شوند او زن کدام‌یک از آنها خواهد بود؟ چون هر هفت نفر با او ازدواج كردند.» 24 عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «آیا گمراهی شما به این علّت نیست كه نه از کتاب‌مقدّس خبر دارید و نه از قدرت خدا؟ 25 وقتی مردگان قیام کنند، دیگر نه زن می‌گیرند و نه شوهر می‌کنند، بلكه مانند فرشتگان آسمانی خواهند بود. 26 و امّا دربارهٔ قیامت مردگان، مگر تا به حال در كتاب موسی در داستان بوتهٔ سوزان نخوانده‌اید كه خدا چطور با او صحبت كرد و فرمود: 'من خدای ابراهیم و خدای اسحاق و خدای یعقوب هستم.'

27 خدا، خدای مردگان نیست، بلكه خدای زندگان است. شما سخت گمراه هستید.»

فرمان بزرگ

(متّی 34:22-40؛ لوقا 25:10-28)

28 یكی از علما كه بحث آنان را شنید و پی برد كه عیسی جوابی عالی به آنها داده است، جلو آمد و پرسید: «مهمترین حكم شریعت كدام است؟» 29 عیسی جواب داد: «اول این است: ای اسرائیل بشنو، خداوند خدای ما، خداوند یكتاست. 30 خداوند، خدای خود را با تمام دل و تمام جان و تمام ذهن و تمام قدرت خود دوست بدار. 31 و دوم این است: همسایه‌ات را مانند جان خود دوست بدار. هیچ فرمانی بزرگتر از این دو، وجود ندارد.» 32 آن شخص به او گفت: «ای استاد، درست است. حقیقت را فرمودی خدا یكی است و به جز او خدایی نیست 33 و دوست داشتن او با تمامی دل و تمام عقل و تمام قدرت و دوست داشتن همسایه مثل خود از همهٔ هدایای سوختنی و قربانی‌ها بالاتر است.»

34 وقتی عیسی دید كه جوابی عاقلانه داده است، به او فرمود: «تو از پادشاهی خدا دور نیستی.» بعد از آن دیگر كسی جرأت نمی‌کرد از عیسی سؤالی بكند.

داوود و مسیح

(متّی 41:22-46؛ لوقا 41:20-44)

35 عیسی ضمن تعالیم خود در معبد بزرگ چنین گفت: «علما چطور می‌توانند بگویند كه مسیح، پسر داوود است؟

36 درحالی‌که خود داوود با الهام روح‌القدس گفت:
'خداوند به خداوند من گفت:
در دست راست من بنشین
تا دشمنانت را زیر پای تو اندازم.'

37 پس وقتی خود داوود، او را خداوند می‌خواند، چطور او می‌تواند پسر داوود باشد؟»

هشدار عیسی علیه معلّمین شریعت

(متّی 1:23-36؛ لوقا 45:20-47)

جمعیّت كثیری با علاقه به سخنان او گوش می‌دادند. 38 عیسی در ضمن تعالیم خود به آنها فرمود: «از علمایی كه دوست دارند با قباهای بلند بیایند و بروند و علاقهٔ شدیدی به سلامهای احترام‌آمیز دیگران در بازارها دارند، برحذر باشید. 39 آنها بهترین جاها را در کنیسه‌ها و صدر مجالس را در مهمانی‌‌ها اشغال می‌کنند.

40 مال بیوه زنها را می‌بلعند و محض خودنمایی، نماز را طول می‌دهند. كیفر آنها سخت‌تر خواهد بود.»

هدیهٔ یک بیوه‌زن

(لوقا 1:21-4)

41 عیسی در برابر صندوق بیت‌المال معبد بزرگ نشسته بود و می‌دید كه چگونه اشخاص به آن صندوق پول می‌ریختند. بسیاری از دولتمندان، پولهای زیادی دادند. 42 بیوه‌زن فقیری هم آمد و دو سکّه كه تقریباً دو ریال می‌شد در صندوق انداخت. 43 عیسی شاگردان خود را نزد خود خواند و فرمود: «یقین بدانید كه این بیوه‌زن فقیر بیش از همهٔ کسانی‌که در صندوق پول ریختند، پول داده است. 44 چون آنها از آنچه كه زیاد داشتند دادند، امّا او با وجود تنگدستی، هرچه داشت یعنی تمام معاش خود را داد.»

MARK 12

Renters of a Vineyard

(Matthew 21.33-46; Luke 20.9-19)

1  t Jesus then told them this story:
A farmer once planted a vineyard. He built a wall around it and dug a pit to crush the grapes in. He also built a lookout tower. Then he rented out his vineyard and left the country.
2 When it was harvest time, he sent a servant to get his share of the grapes.

3 The renters grabbed the servant, beat him up, and sent him away without a thing.
4 The owner sent another servant, but the renters beat him on the head and insulted him terribly.

5 Then the man sent another servant, and they killed him. He kept sending servant after servant. They beat some of them and killed some.
6 The owner had a son he loved very much. Finally, he sent his son to the renters because he thought they would respect him. 7 But they said to themselves, “Someday he will own this vineyard. Let's kill him! That way we can have it all for ourselves.”

8 So they grabbed the owner's son, killed him, and threw his body out of the vineyard.
9 Jesus asked, “What do you think the owner of the vineyard will do? He will come and kill those renters and let someone else have his vineyard.

10 t You surely know that the Scriptures say,
‘The stone the builders
tossed aside
is now the most important
stone of all.

11 This is something
the Lord has done,
and it is amazing to us.’ ”

12 The leaders knew that Jesus was really talking about them, and they wanted to arrest him. But because they were afraid of the crowd, they let him alone and left.

Paying Taxes

(Matthew 22.15-22; Luke 20.20-26)

13 The Pharisees got together with Herod's followers.t Then they sent some men to trick Jesus into saying something wrong.

14 They went to him and said, “Teacher, we know that you are honest. You treat everyone with the same respect, no matter who they are. And you teach the truth about what God wants people to do. Tell us, should we pay taxes to the Emperor or not?”

15 Jesus knew what they were up to, and he said, “Why are you trying to test me? Show me a coin!”

16 They brought him a silver coin, and he asked, “Whose picture and name are on it?”
“The Emperor's,” they answered.

17 Then Jesus told them, “Give the Emperor what belongs to him and give God what belongs to God.” The men were amazed at Jesus.

Life in the Future World

(Matthew 22.23-33; Luke 20.27-40)

18  t The Sadducees did not believe that people would rise to life after death. So some of them came to Jesus and said:
19  t Teacher, Moses wrote that if a married man dies and has no children, his brother should marry the widow. Their first son would then be thought of as the son of the dead brother. 20 There were once seven brothers. The first one married, but died without having any children. 21 The second brother married his brother's widow, and he also died without having children. The same thing happened to the third brother, 22 and finally to all seven brothers. At last the woman died.

23 When God raises people from death, whose wife will this woman be? After all, she had been married to all seven brothers.

24 Jesus answered:
You are completely wrong! You don't know what the Scriptures teach. And you don't know anything about the power of God. 25 When God raises people to life, they won't marry. They will be like the angels in heaven. 26 t You surely know about people being raised to life. You know that in the story about Moses and the burning bush, God said, “I am the God worshiped by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”t

27 He isn't the God of the dead, but of the living. You Sadducees are all wrong.

The Most Important //Commandment

(Matthew 22.34-40; Luke 10.25-28)

28  t One of the teachers of the Law of Moses came up while Jesus and the Sadducees were arguing. When he heard Jesus give a good answer, he asked him, “What is the most important commandment?”
29  t Jesus answered, “The most important one says: ‘People of Israel, you have only one Lord and God. 30 You must love him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.’

31 t The second most important commandment says: ‘Love others as much as you love yourself.’ No other commandment is more important than these.”
32  t The man replied, “Teacher, you are certainly right to say there is only one God.

33 t It is also true that we must love God with all our heart, mind, and strength, and that we must love others as much as we love ourselves. These commandments are more important than all the sacrifices and offerings that we could possibly make.”

34 When Jesus saw that the man had given a sensible answer, he told him, “You are not far from God's kingdom.” After this, no one dared ask Jesus any more questions.

About David's Son

(Matthew 22.41-46; Luke 20.41-44)

35 As Jesus was teaching in the temple, he said, “How can the teachers of the Law of Moses say the Messiah will come from the family of King David?

36 t The Holy Spirit led David to say,
‘The Lord said to my Lord:
Sit at my right sidet
until I make your enemies
into a footstool for you.’

37 If David called the Messiah his Lord, how can the Messiah be his son?”t
The large crowd enjoyed listening to Jesus teach.

Jesus Condemns the Pharisees //and the Teachers of the Law of Moses

(Matthew 23.1-36; Luke 20.45-47)

38 As Jesus was teaching, he said:
Guard against the teachers of the Law of Moses! They love to walk around in long robes and be greeted in the market. 39 They like the front seats in the synagogues and the best seats at banquets.

40 But they cheat widows out of their homes and pray long prayers just to show off. They will be punished most of all.

A Widow's Offering

(Luke 21.1-4)

41 Jesus was sitting in the temple near the offering box and watching people put in their gifts. He noticed that many rich people were giving a lot of money. 42 Finally, a poor widow came up and put in two coins worth only a few pennies.

43 Jesus told his disciples to gather around him. Then he said:
I tell you that this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 44 Everyone else gave what they didn't need. But she is very poor and gave everything she had. Now she doesn't have a cent to live on.
