Jésus guérit un homme paralysé

1 Quelques jours plus tard, Jésus revint à Capernaüm, et l’on apprit qu’il était à la maisont. 2 Une foule de gens s’assembla, si bien qu’il ne restait plus de place, pas même dehors devant la porte. Jésus leur donnait son enseignement. 3 Quelques hommes arrivèrent, lui amenant un paralysé porté par quatre d’entre eux. 4 Mais ils ne pouvaient pas le présenter à Jésus, à cause de la foule. Ils ouvrirent alors le toitt au-dessus de l’endroit où était Jésus ; par le trou qu’ils avaient fait, ils descendirent le paralysé étendu sur sa natte. 5 Quand Jésus vit la foi de ces hommes, il dit au paralysé : « Mon fils, tes péchés sont pardonnés. » 6 Quelques maîtres de la loi, qui étaient assis là, pensaient en eux-mêmes : 7 « Pourquoi cet homme parle-t-il ainsi ? Il fait insulte à Dieu. Qui peut pardonner les péchés ? Dieu seul le peutt ! » 8 Jésus devina aussitôt ce qu’ils pensaient et leur dit : « Pourquoi avez-vous de telles pensées ? 9 Est-il plus facile de dire au paralysé : “Tes péchés sont pardonnés”, ou de dire : “Lève-toi, prends ta natte et marche” ? 10 Mais je veux que vous le sachiez : le Fils de l’homme a le pouvoir sur la terre de pardonner les péchés. » Alors il adressa ces mots au paralysé : 11 « Je te le dis, lève-toi, prends ta natte, et rentre chez toi ! »
12 Aussitôt, tandis que tout le monde le regardait, l’homme se leva, prit sa natte et partit. Ils furent tous frappés d’étonnement ; ils louaient Dieu et disaient : « Nous n’avons jamais rien vu de pareil ! »Jésus appelle Lévi

13 Jésus retourna au bord du lac de Galilée. Une foule de gens venaient à lui et il leur donnait son enseignement. 14 En passant, il vit Lévi, le fils d’Alphée, assis au bureau des impôts. Jésus lui dit : « Suis-moi ! » Lévi se leva et le suivit. 15 Jésus prit ensuite un repas dans la maison de Lévit. Beaucoup de collecteurs d’impôts et autres gens de mauvaise réputation étaient à table avec lui et ses disciples, car nombreux étaient les hommes de cette sorte qui le suivaient. 16 Et les maîtres de la loi qui étaient du parti des Pharisiens virent que Jésus mangeait avec tous ces gens ; ils dirent à ses disciples : « Pourquoi mange-t-il avec les collecteurs d’impôts et les gens de mauvaise réputationt ? »
17 Jésus les entendit et leur déclara : « Les personnes en bonne santé n’ont pas besoin de médecin, ce sont les malades qui en ont besoin. Je ne suis pas venu appeler ceux qui s’estiment justes, mais ceux qui se sentent pécheurs. »Jésus et le jeûne

18 Un jour, les disciples de Jean-Baptiste et les Pharisiens jeûnaient. Des gens vinrent alors demander à Jésus : « Pourquoi les disciples de Jean-Baptiste et ceux des Pharisiens jeûnent-ils, tandis que tes disciples ne le font pas ? » 19 Et Jésus leur répondit : « Pensez-vous que les invités d’une noce peuvent refuser de manger pendant que le marié est avec eux ? Bien sûr que non ! Tant que le marié est avec eux, ils ne peuvent pas refuser de manger.
20 Mais le temps viendra où le marié leur sera enlevé ; ce jour-là, ils jeûneront.
21 « Personne ne coud une pièce d’étoffe neuve sur un vieux vêtement ; sinon, la nouvelle pièce arrache une partie du vieux vêtement et la déchirure s’agrandit encore.
22 Et personne ne verse du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres ; sinon, le vin fait éclater les outres : le vin est perdu et les outres aussi. Mais non ! Pour le vin nouveau, il faut des outres neuves ! »Jésus et le sabbat

23 Un jour de sabbat, Jésus traversait des champs de blé. Ses disciples se mirent à cueillir des épis le long du chemint. 24 Les Pharisiens dirent alors à Jésus : « Regarde, pourquoi tes disciples font-ils ce que notre loi ne permet pas le jour du sabbatt ? » 25 Jésus leur répondit : « N’avez-vous jamais lu ce que fit David un jour où il se trouvait en difficulté, parce que lui-même et ses compagnons avaient faim ? 26 Il entra dans la maison de Dieu et mangea les pains offerts à Dieu. Abiatar était le grand-prêtre en ce temps-là. Notre loi permet aux seuls prêtres de manger ces painst, mais David en prit et en donna aussi à ses compagnons. » 27 Jésus leur dit encore : « Le sabbat a été fait pour l’homme ; l’homme n’a pas été fait pour le sabbat. 28 Voilà pourquoi, le Fils de l’homme est maître même du sabbat. »

1 And when he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was noised that he was in the house.2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room for them, no, not even about the door: and he spake the word unto them.3 And they come, bringing unto him a man sick of the palsy, borne of four.4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed whereon the sick of the palsy lay.5 And Jesus seeing their faith saith unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven.6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,7 Why doth this man thus speak? he blasphemeth: who can forgive sins but one, even God?8 And straightway Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, saith unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?9 Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins (he saith to the sick of the palsy),11 I say unto thee, Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thy house.12 And he arose, and straightway took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the place of toll, and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.15 And it came to pass, that he was sitting at meat in his house, and many publicans and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.16 And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and publicans, said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?17 And when Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.18 And John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting: and they come and say unto him, Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the sons of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then will they fast in that day.21 No man seweth a piece of undressed cloth on an old garment: else that which should fill it up taketh from it, the new from the old, and a worse rent is made.22 And no man putteth new wine into old wineskins; else the wine will burst the skins, and the wine perisheth, and the skins: but they put new wine into fresh wine-skins.23 And it came to pass, that he was going on the sabbath day through the grainfields; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears.24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?25 And he said unto them, Did ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, he, and they that were with him?26 How he entered into the house of God when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the showbread, which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests, and gave also to them that were with him?27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:28 so that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.
