二

1 　数日後、イエスはカペナウムに戻られました。　イエス来訪のニュースはたちまち町中に伝わり、　2 人々がいっぱい集まって来ました。　家は足の踏み場もないほどで、外にまで人があふれています。　この人たちに、イエスは神の教えを語られました。　3 その時、四人の人が、担架で中風の男を運んで来ました。　4 しかし、群衆をかき分けて中へ入ることもできません。　そこで、屋根にのぼり、穴をあけると、そこから病人を担架に乗せたまま、イエスの前へつり降ろしました。
5 　必ず治してもらえると、堅く信じて疑わない彼らの信仰をごらんになって、イエスは中風の男に、「あなたの罪は赦されました」と言われました。
6 　ところが、その場にいた何人かのユダヤ人の宗教的指導者たちの心中は、おだやかではありません。　7 「なんだって！　神様を汚すことばだ。　いったい自分を何様だと思っているのか。　罪を赦すなんて、神様にしかできないことなのに。」
8 　イエスはすぐに、彼らが心の中で理屈をこねているのを見抜かれました。　「どうして、そう思うのですか。　9-11 この人に、『あなたの罪が赦されました』と言うのと、『起きて歩きなさい』と言うのと、どちらがやさしいですか。　さあ、メシヤ（救い主）のわたしが罪を赦したという証拠を見せてあげましょう。」イエスは中風の男のほうに向き直られ、「あなたはもうよくなりました。　床をたたんで、家に帰りなさい」と言われました。
12 　すると、男はとび起き、床をかかえ、あっけにとられている見物人を押し分けて、出て行ってしまいました。　「こんなことは、見たこともない！」人々は口々に叫び、心から神を賛美しました。
13 　イエスはまた湖畔に行き、集まって来た大ぜいの群衆にお教えになりました。　14 岸辺を歩いておられると、税金取立所にアルパヨの子レビが座っています。　「ついて来なさい。　わたしの弟子になりなさい。」イエスの呼びかけに、レビはさっと立ち上がり、あとに従いました。
15 　その夜、レビは、イエスを夕食に招待しました。　その席には、取税人仲間や、評判の悪い人たちも大ぜい招かれていました。　イエスに従う者には、この種の人々も多かったのです。　16 しかし、これを見たパリサイ人（特におきてを守ることに熱心なユダヤ教の一派）のある学者たちは、気持ちがおさまりません。　弟子たちに詰め寄りました。「おまえさんたちの先生は、どうして、こんなくずみたいな連中といっしょに食事をするのか。」
17 　彼らの非難に、イエスはこうお答えになりました。　「丈夫な者に医者はいりません。　病人こそ医者が必要なのです。　わたしは自分を正しいと思っている人たちのためにではなく、罪人を神に立ち返らせるために来たのです。」
パリサイ人の非難
18 　バプテスマのヨハネの弟子やパリサイ人たちは、断食のおきてを守っていました。　ある時、彼らが来て、「どうして先生のお弟子さんたちは断食しないのですか」と問いただしました。
19 　イエスは、こうお答えになりました。　「花婿の友達は、披露宴の席で、ごちそうに、はしをつけなかったり、嘆き悲しんだりはしません。　20 しかし、やがて花婿が彼らから引き離される日が来ます。その時には断食するのです。　21 こう言えばわかるでしょう。　水洗いしていない新しい布で、古い着物の継ぎ当てをしてごらんなさい。どうなりますか。　当て布は縮んで着物を破り、穴はますます大きくなってしまうでしょう。　22 新しいぶどう酒を古い皮袋に入れることもしません。　そんなことをしたら、皮袋は張り裂け、ぶどう酒はこぼれ、どちらもだいなしでしょう。　新しいぶどう酒には、新しい皮袋が必要なのです。」
23 　ある安息日のこと、イエスと弟子たちは麦畑の中を歩いていました。　その時、弟子たちは麦の穂を摘んで、食べ始めました。
24 　これを見たパリサイ人たちは、「お弟子さんたちがあんなことをするなんて！　安息日に刈り入れをするのは、おきて違反なのをご存じのはずでしょう」と抗議しました。
25-26 しかしイエスはお答えになりました。　「ダビデ王とその家来たちが空腹でがまんできなかった時、神殿に入って〔当時アビヤタルが大祭司でしたが〕、祭司以外に食べてはいけない特別のパンを食べたという記事を、読んだことがないのですか。　それもおきてに反することでしょう。　27 いいですか。　安息日は人間のためにつくられたのであって、人間が安息日のためにつくられたのではありません。　28 しかしメシヤ（救い主）のわたしには、安息日に何をしてよいかを決める権威もあるのです。」

Mark 2

1 And when he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was noised that he was in the house.2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room for them, no, not even about the door: and he spake the word unto them.3 And they come, bringing unto him a man sick of the palsy, borne of four.4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed whereon the sick of the palsy lay.5 And Jesus seeing their faith saith unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven.6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,7 Why doth this man thus speak? he blasphemeth: who can forgive sins but one, even God?8 And straightway Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, saith unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?9 Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins (he saith to the sick of the palsy),11 I say unto thee, Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thy house.12 And he arose, and straightway took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the place of toll, and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.15 And it came to pass, that he was sitting at meat in his house, and many publicans and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.16 And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and publicans, said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?17 And when Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.18 And John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting: and they come and say unto him, Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the sons of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then will they fast in that day.21 No man seweth a piece of undressed cloth on an old garment: else that which should fill it up taketh from it, the new from the old, and a worse rent is made.22 And no man putteth new wine into old wineskins; else the wine will burst the skins, and the wine perisheth, and the skins: but they put new wine into fresh wine-skins.23 And it came to pass, that he was going on the sabbath day through the grainfields; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears.24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?25 And he said unto them, Did ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, he, and they that were with him?26 How he entered into the house of God when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the showbread, which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests, and gave also to them that were with him?27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:28 so that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.
