Markus 2

Jesus botar en förlamad man

1 Några dagar senare kom Jesus tillbaka till Kafarnaum igen, och nyheten om att han kommit dit spred sig snabbt i staden.

2 Snart var huset där han bodde så fullt med folk att man stod långt ut på gatan och trängdes. Och han talade till dem om budskapet från Gud.t
3 Då kom fyra män bärande på en förlamad man på en sovmatta.4 Men när de inte kunde tränga sig igenom folkmassan och komma fram till Jesus gjorde de hål i taket ovanför honom. Genom öppningen firade de sedan ner mattan med den förlamade.

5 När Jesus såg vilken stor tro de hade, sa han till den förlamade: "Min son, jag har förlåtit dina synder!"
6 Men några av laglärarnat satt där, och de sa för sig själva:

7 "Hur kan han tala på det viset och hädat Gud? Det är ju bara Gud som kan förlåta synder."
8 Men Jesus förstod i sin ande vad de tänkte, och sa till dem: "Varför tänker ni att just detta är en hädelse?9 Är det inte lika omöjligt för en människa att säga till den förlamade: 'Res dig upp, ta din sovmatta och gå' som att säga: 'Jag förlåter dig dina synder'?"

10-11 Sedan vände han sig till den förlamade och sa: "För att bevisa att jag, Människosonent, har makt att förlåta synder här på jorden, säger jag till dig: 'Res dig upp, ta din sovmatta och gå hem!' "

12 Då steg mannen upp, rullade genast ihop sin matta och gick ut, mitt framför ögonen på de förbluffade människorna. Och man hyllade Gud och ropade: "Aldrig förr har vi sett något sådant!"

Jesus kallar en tullindrivare[r] att följa honom

13 Sedan gick Jesus längs Galileiska sjön igen, och stora folkmassor kom till honom, och han undervisade dem.

14 När han gick där fick han se Levi, Alfaios son, sitta vid tullhuset. "Kom och bli min efterföljare", sa Jesus till honom. Och Levi reste sig och följde Jesus.

15 När Jesus och hans efterföljare senare åt tillsammans i Levis hus, fanns många av hans gamla kollegor vid tullen med bland gästerna och även en del annat ökänt folk, för många av dessa hade också börjat följa Jesus.
16 Då laglärarnat bland fariseernat såg Jesus i detta sällskap, sa de till hans efterföljare: "Sänker han sig verkligen så lågt att han äter tillsammans med tullindrivare och syndare?"

17 Men Jesus hörde det och sa: "Det är inte de friska som behöver läkare, utan de sjuka. Min uppgift här på jorden är att föra syndare tillbaka till Gud, inte att ta hand om dem som redan följer hans vilja."

Jesus svarar på en fråga om fasta

18 Johannes döparens efterföljare och fariseernat fastade regelbundet. En dag kom därför några och frågade Jesus varför inte hans efterföljare fastade när Johannes efterföljare och fariseerna gjorde det.
19 Jesus svarade: "Bröllopsgästerna kan väl inte fasta och gå hungriga medan brudgummen är hos dem? Nej, så länge brudgummen är tillsammans med dem kan de inte fasta.20 Men en dag ska han tas ifrån dem, och då kommer de att fasta.21 Det finns en tid och en plats för allt. Ingen lagar till exempel ett gammalt klädesplagg med ett stycke nytt tyg som aldrig har tvättats, för då krymper det nya tyget och river sönder plagget, så att hålet blir ännu större.

22 Ingen öser heller nytt vin i gamla vinsäckar, för när vinet jäser sprängs säckarna, och allt blir förstört, både vinet och säckarna. Nej, nytt vin häller man i nya säckar."

Jesus efterföljare plockar ax på vilodagen

23 En gång när det var vilodagt gick Jesus och hans efterföljare genom några sädesfält, och medan de gick ryckte hans efterföljare av ax för att äta.

24 Några av fariseernat sa då till Jesus: "Varför gör de så där? Det är ju förbjudet i Moses lagt att skörda på vilodagen."
25-26 Men Jesus svarade dem: "Har ni aldrig läst vad kung David och hans män gjorde en gång då Evjatar var överstepräst, och de blev hungriga och inte hade något att äta?t David gick in i Guds hus och åt av det speciella bröd som bara prästerna får äta, och han lät även sina män äta av det. Det var också ett brott mot lagen."27 Sedan sa Jesus till fariseerna: "Kom ihåg att vilodagen skapades för människornas skull, och inte människorna för vilodagens skull.

28 Därför har jag, Människosonent, rätt att avgöra också vad som är tillåtet på vilodagen."

Mark 2

Healing and Forgiving a Paralytic

1 Nowt after some days, when he returned to Capernaum,ss the news spreadt that he was at home.2 So many gathered that there was no longer any room, not even byt the door, and he preached the word to them.3 Some peoplet came bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them.t4 When they were not able to bring him in because of the crowd, they removed the roofs above Jesus.t Then,t after tearing it out, they lowered the stretcher the paralytic was lying on.5 When Jesus saw theirs faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”s6 Now some of the experts in the lawt were sitting there, turning these things over in their minds:t7 “Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming!s Who can forgive sins but God alone?”8 Nowt immediately, when Jesus realized in his spirit that they were contemplating such thoughts,t he said to them, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?t9 Which is easier,s to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up, take your stretcher, and walk’?10 But so that you may knows that the Son of Mans has authority on earth to forgive sins,” – he said to the paralytics –11 “I tell you, stand up, take your stretcher, and go home.”t

12 And immediately the mant stood up, took his stretcher, and went out in front of them all. They were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

The Call of Levi; Eating with Sinners

13 Jesust went out again by the sea. The whole crowd came to him, and he taught them.14 As he went along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax booth.ts “Follow me,” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.15 As Jesust was having a mealts in Levi’st home, many tax collectorss and sinners were eating with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.16 When the experts in the lawt and the Phariseess saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”s

17 When Jesus heard this he said to them, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do.s I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

The Superiority of the New

18 Nowt John’ss disciples and the Phariseess were fasting.s Sot they came to Jesust and said, “Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”19 Jesust said to them, “The wedding guestst cannot fast while the bridegrooms is with them, can they?t As long as they have the bridegroom with them they do not fast.20 But the days are coming when the bridegroom will be taken from them,s and at that timet they will fast.21 No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; otherwise, the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and the tear becomes worse.

22 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins;s otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins will be destroyed. Instead new wine is poured into new wineskins.”s

Lord of the Sabbath

23 Jesust was going through the grain fields on a Sabbath, and his disciples began to pick some heads of wheatt as they made their way.24 Sot the Phariseess said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is against the law on the Sabbath?”25 He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions were hungry –26 how he entered the house of God when Abiathar was high priestt and ate the sacred bread,ts which is against the laws for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to his companions?”s27 Thent he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for people,t not people for the Sabbath.

28 For this reason the Son of Man is lordts even of the Sabbath.”
