Gesetzlichkeit oder Liebe?

1 (Matthäus 12, 9-14; Lukas 6, 6-11)
Als Jesus wie gewohnt zur Synagoge ging, war dort ein Mann mit einer verkrüppelten Hand.2 tSeine Gegner warteten gespannt darauf, wie Jesus sich verhalten würde. Sollte er es nämlich wagen, auch am Sabbat zu heilen, so könnten sie Anklage gegen ihn erheben.

3 Jesus rief den Mann mit der verkrüppelten Hand zu sich: »Steh auf und komm hierher, damit alle dich sehen können!«

4 tDann fragte er die Anwesenden: »Soll man am Sabbat Gutes tun oder Böses? Soll man das Leben eines Menschen retten, oder soll man ihn zugrunde gehen lassen?«
Doch er bekam keine Antwort.5 Zornig sah Jesus einen nach dem anderen an, traurig über ihre Hartherzigkeit. Zu dem Mann aber sagte er: »Streck deine Hand aus!« Er streckte sie aus, und die Hand war gesund.

6 tDa verließen die Pharisäer die Synagoge und trafen sich mit den Freunden und Anhängern des Königs Herodes. Sie berieten miteinander, wie sie Jesus töten könnten.

Jesus heilt am See Genezareth

7 (Matthäus 12, 15-16; Lukas 6, 17-19)
Jesus zog sich mit seinen Jüngern wieder an das Ufer des Sees Genezareth zurück. Aber die Menschen liefen ihm in Scharen aus ganz Galiläa nach. Sogar aus Judäa,8 Jerusalem, Idumäa, von der anderen Seite des Jordan und aus Tyrus und Sidon waren sie gekommen, weil sie von seinen Taten gehört hatten.

9 Als immer mehr Menschen dazukamen, beauftragte er seine Jünger, ein Boot bereitzuhalten, wenn ihn die Menschen zu sehr bedrängen sollten.

10 tJesus heilte viele Kranke. Darum drängten sich die Leute um ihn. Sie wollten wenigstens seine Kleider berühren, um dadurch gesund zu werden.11 tVon Dämonen Beherrschte stürzten vor ihm nieder und schrien: »Du bist der Sohn Gottes!«12 tAber Jesus befahl ihnen zu schweigen.

Die zwölf Apostel

13 (Matthäus 10, 1-4; Lukas 6, 12-16)
Danach stieg Jesus auf einen Berg. Einige Männer hatte er aufgefordert mitzukommen; und sie waren mit ihm gegangen.14-15 tZwölf von ihnen erwählte er zu Aposteln. Sie sollten ständig bei ihm bleiben und von ihm lernen. Er wollte sie mit dem Auftrag aussenden, die Botschaft von Gott zu predigen und Menschen von der Macht der Dämonen zu befreien.

16 tDiese zwölf Männer waren: Simon, dem Jesus den Namen Petrus gab;17 tJakobus und Johannes, die Söhne des Zebedäus - Jesus nannte sie »Donnersöhne« -,18 Andreas, Philippus, Bartholomäus, Matthäus, Thomas, Jakobus, der Sohn des Alphäus, Thaddäus, Simon, der ehemalige Freiheitskämpfer,19 tund Judas Iskariot, der Jesus später verriet.

Widerstand gegen Jesus

20 (Matthäus 12, 24-32; Lukas 11, 15-23; 12, 10)
Dann kehrte Jesus in das Haus des Simont zurück. Sogleich liefen wieder so viele Menschen zu ihm, dass er und seine Jünger nicht einmal Zeit zum Essen hatten.21 tAls seine Angehörigen das erfuhren, wollten sie ihn unbedingt mit nach Hause nehmen. »Er hat den Verstand verloren!«, sagten sie.

22 tEinige der Schriftgelehrten aus Jerusalem behaupteten sogar: »Er hat sich dem Obersten Teufelt verschrieben. Nur weil er vom Herrscher über alle Dämonen die Macht bekommen hat, kann er Dämonen austreiben.«

23 Jesus aber rief die Leute zu sich und fragte sie: »Warum sollte denn Satan sich selbst vertreiben?24 Ein Staat wird untergehen, wenn in ihm verschiedene Herrscher um die Macht kämpfen.25 Eine Familie, die ständig in Zank und Streit lebt, bricht auseinander.26 Wenn der Satan also sich selbst bekämpfte, hätte er keine Macht mehr. Das wäre sein Untergang.27 tNiemand kann in das Haus eines starken Mannes eindringen und ihn berauben. Erst wenn er gefesselt ist, kann man sein Haus plündern.

28 tDas eine will ich euch sagen: Jede Sünde und jede Gotteslästerung kann den Menschen vergeben werden.29 Wer aber den Heiligen Geist verlästert, der wird niemals Vergebung finden; seine Sünde lastet für immer auf ihm.«

30 Das sagte er zu den Schriftgelehrten, weil sie behauptet hatten: »Er ist von einem bösen Geist besessen.«

Wer gehört zu Jesus?

31-32 (Matthäus 12, 46-50; Lukas 8, 19-21)
tNoch während Jesus sprach, kamen seine Mutter und seine Geschwister. Aber weil so viele Menschen bei ihm waren, kamen sie nicht an ihn heran. Deshalb baten sie, Jesus auszurichten: »Deine Mutter, deine Brüder und deine Schwestern warten draußen. Sie wollen mit dir reden!«33 Er gab zur Antwort: »Wer ist meine Mutter, und wer sind meine Geschwister?«34 Dann sah er seine Zuhörer an und sagte: »Seht diese dort, sie sind meine Mutter und meine Geschwister.

35 tWer Gottes Willen tut, ist für mich Bruder, Schwester und Mutter!«

1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there who had his hand withered.2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.3 And he saith unto the man that had his hand withered, Stand forth.4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful on the sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to kill? But they held their peace.5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their heart, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth; and his hand was restored.6 And the Pharisees went out, and straightway with the Herodians took counsel against him, how they might destroy him.7 And Jesus with his disciples withdrew to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed; and from Judaea,8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and beyond the Jordan, and about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came unto him.9 And he spake to his disciples, that a little boat should wait on him because of the crowd, lest they should throng him:10 for he had healed many; insomuch that as many as had plagues pressed upon him that they might touch him.11 And the unclean spirits, whensoever they beheld him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.12 And he charged them much that they should not make him known.13 And he goeth up into the mountain, and calleth unto him whom he himself would; and they went unto him.14 And he appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,15 and to have authority to cast out demons:16 and Simon he surnamed Peter;17 and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and them he surnamed Boanerges, which is, Sons of thunder:18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean,19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. And he cometh into a house.20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.21 And when his friends heard it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.22 And the scribes that came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and, By the prince of the demons casteth he out the demons.23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.26 And if Satan hath risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.27 But no one can enter into the house of the strong man, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.28 Verily I say unto you, All their sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and their blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:29 but whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin:30 because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.31 And there come his mother and his brethren; and, standing without, they sent unto him, calling him.32 And a multitude was sitting about him; and they say unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.33 And he answereth them, and saith, Who is my mother and my brethren?34 And looking round on them that sat round about him, he saith, Behold, my mother and my brethren!35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
