Marcos 3

Jesús sana en el día de descanso

1  Jesús entró de nuevo en la sinagoga y vio a un hombre que tenía una mano deforme. 2 Como era el día de descanso, los enemigos de Jesús lo vigilaban de cerca. Si sanaba la mano del hombre, tenían pensado acusarlo por trabajar en el día de descanso.

3 Jesús le dijo al hombre con la mano deforme: «Ven y ponte de pie frente a todos». 4 Luego se dirigió a sus acusadores y les preguntó: «¿Permite la ley hacer buenas acciones en el día de descanso o es un día para hacer el mal? ¿Es un día para salvar la vida o para destruirla?». Pero ellos no quisieron contestarle.

5 Jesús miró con enojo a los que lo rodeaban, profundamente entristecido por la dureza de su corazón. Entonces le dijo al hombre: «Extiende la mano». Así que el hombre la extendió, ¡y la mano quedó restaurada! 6 Los fariseos salieron enseguida y se reunieron con los partidarios de Herodes para tramar cómo matar a Jesús.

La multitud sigue a Jesús

7 Jesús fue al lago con sus discípulos, y una gran multitud lo siguió. La gente llegaba de toda Galilea, Judea, 8 Jerusalén, Idumea, del oriente del río Jordán y de lugares tan al norte como Tiro y Sidón. Las noticias sobre sus milagros corrían por todas partes, y una enorme cantidad de personas llegó para verlo.

9 Jesús encargó a sus discípulos que prepararan una barca para que la multitud no lo apretujara. 10 Ese día sanó a tanta gente, que todos los enfermos empujaban hacia adelante para poder tocarlo. 11 Y, cuando los que estaban poseídos por espíritus malignost lo veían, los espíritus los arrojaban al suelo frente a él y gritaban: «¡Tú eres el Hijo de Dios!»; 12 pero Jesús ordenó severamente a los espíritus que no revelaran quién era él.

Jesús escoge a los doce apóstoles

13 Tiempo después Jesús subió a un monte y llamó a los que quería que lo acompañaran. Todos ellos se acercaron a él. 14 Luego nombró a doce de ellos y los llamó sus apóstoles.t Ellos lo acompañarían, y él los enviaría a predicar 15 y les daría autoridad para expulsar demonios.

16 Estos son los doce que escogió:
Simón (a quien llamó Pedro),

17 Santiago y Juan (los hijos de Zebedeo, a quienes Jesús apodó «hijos del trueno»t),

18 Andrés,
Felipe,
Bartolomé,
Mateo,
Tomás,
Santiago (hijo de Alfeo),
Tadeo,
Simón (el zelotet),

19 Judas Iscariote (quien después lo traicionó).

Jesús y el príncipe de los demonios

20 Cierta vez, Jesús entró en una casa y las multitudes empezaron a juntarse nuevamente. Pronto ni él ni sus discípulos encontraron un momento para comer. 21 Cuando sus familiares oyeron lo que sucedía, intentaron llevárselo. «Está fuera de sí», decían.

22 Pero los maestros de la ley religiosa que habían llegado de Jerusalén decían: «Está poseído por Satanás,t el príncipe de los demonios. De él recibe el poder para expulsar los demonios».

23 Jesús los llamó para que se acercaran y respondió con una ilustración. «¿Cómo puede Satanás expulsar a Satanás? —preguntó—. 24 Un reino dividido por una guerra civil, acabará destruido. 25 De la misma manera una familia dividida por peleas se desintegrará. 26 Si Satanás está dividido y pelea contra sí mismo, ¿cómo podrá mantenerse en pie? Nunca sobreviviría. 27 Permítanme darles otra ilustración. ¿Quién tiene suficiente poder para entrar en la casa de un hombre fuerte como Satanás y saquear sus bienes? Sólo alguien aún más fuerte, alguien que pudiera atarlo y después saquear su casa.

28 »Les digo la verdad, cualquier pecado y blasfemia pueden ser perdonados, 29 pero todo el que blasfeme contra el Espíritu Santo jamás será perdonado. Este es un pecado que acarrea consecuencias eternas». 30 Les dijo esto porque ellos decían: «Está poseído por un espíritu maligno».

La verdadera familia de Jesús

31 Luego la madre y los hermanos de Jesús vinieron a verlo. Se quedaron afuera y le mandaron a decir que saliera para hablar con ellos. 32 Había una multitud sentada alrededor de Jesús, y alguien dijo: «Tu madre y tus hermanost están afuera y te llaman».

33 Jesús respondió: «¿Quién es mi madre? ¿Quiénes son mis hermanos?». 34 Entonces miró a los que estaban a su alrededor y dijo: «Miren, estos son mi madre y mis hermanos. 35 Todo el que hace la voluntad de Dios es mi hermano y mi hermana y mi madre».

MARK 3

A Man with a Paralyzed Hand

(Matthew 12.9-14; Luke 6.6-11)

1 The next time Jesus went into the synagogue, a man with a paralyzed hand was there.

2 The Phariseest wanted to accuse Jesus of doing something wrong, and they kept watching to see if Jesus would heal him on the Sabbath.
3 Jesus told the man to stand up where everyone could see him.

4 Then he asked, “On the Sabbath should we do good deeds or evil deeds? Should we save someone's life or destroy it?” But no one said a word.

5 Jesus was angry as he looked around at the people. Yet he felt sorry for them because they were so stubborn. Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his bad hand was healed.

6 The Pharisees left. And at once they started making plans with Herod's followerst to kill Jesus.

Large Crowds Come to Jesus

9 t He even had to tell his disciples to get a boat ready to keep him from being crushed by the crowds.
10 After Jesus had healed many people, the other sick people begged him to let them touch him. 11 And whenever any evil spirits saw Jesus, they would fall to the ground and shout, “You are the Son of God!”

12 But Jesus warned the spirits not to tell who he was.

Jesus and the Ruler //of Demons

(Matthew 12.22-32; Luke 11.14-23; 12.10)

21 When Jesus' family heard what he was doing, they thought he was crazy and went to get him under control.

22  t Some teachers of the Law of Moses came from Jerusalem and said, “This man is under the power of Beelzebul, the ruler of demons! He is even forcing out demons with the help of Beelzebul.”

23 Jesus told the people to gather around him. Then he spoke to them in riddles and said:
How can Satan force himself out? 24 A nation whose people fight each other won't last very long. 25 And a family that fights won't last long either.

26 So if Satan fights against himself, that will be the end of him.

27 How can anyone break into the house of a strong man and steal his things, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can take everything.
28 I promise you that any of the sinful things you say or do can be forgiven, no matter how terrible those things are.

29 t But if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you can never be forgiven. That sin will be held against you forever.

30 Jesus said this because the people were saying that he had an evil spirit in him.

Jesus' Mother and Brothers

(Matthew 12.46-50; Luke 8.19-21)

32 The crowd sitting around Jesus told him, “Your mother and your brothers and sisterst are outside and want to see you.”
33 Jesus asked, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?” 34 Then he looked at the people sitting around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 35 Anyone who obeys God is my brother or sister or mother.”
