شفای مرد علیل
(متّی 9:12-14؛ لوقا 6:6-11)
1 عیسی بار دیگر به كنیسه رفت. در آنجا مردی حضور داشت، كه دستش خشک شده بود. 2 فریسیان مراقب بودند ببینند، آیا عیسی او را در روز سبت شفا میدهد تا اتّهامی علیه او پیدا كنند. 3 عیسی به آن مرد علیل فرمود: «بیا جلو بایست.» 4 بعد به آنها گفت: «آیا در روز سبت خوبی كردن رواست یا بدی كردن؟ نجات دادن یا كشتن؟» آنها خاموش ماندند. 5 عیسی با خشم به آنها نگاه كرد، زیرا از سنگدلی آنها متأسف بود و سپس به آن مرد فرمود: «دستت را دراز كن.» او دستش را دراز كرد و مانند اول سالم شد.
6 فریسیان فوراً از آنجا خارج شدند تا با طرفداران هیرودیس برای از بین بردن عیسی توطئه بچینند.جمعیّتی در كنار دریا
7 عیسی با شاگردانش به كنار دریا رفت. عدّهٔ زیادی به دنبال او میرفتند. این اشخاص از جلیل و یهودیه 8 و اورشلیم و ادومیه و از آن طرف رود اردن و از قسمتهای صور و صیدون آمده بودند. این جمعیّت انبوه، شرح كارهای او را شنیده و به نزدش آمدند. 9 پس او به شاگردانش گفت، كه قایقی برایش حاضر كنند تا از ازدحام مردم دور باشد. 10 چون آنقدر بیماران را شفا داده بود، كه همه به طرف او هجوم میآوردند تا او را لمس كنند. 11 همینطور ارواح پلید وقتی او را میدیدند، در جلوی او به خاک میافتادند و با صدای بلند فریاد میکردند: «تو پسر خدا هستی!»
12 عیسی با تأكید به آنها امر میکرد كه این را به كسی نگویند.انتخاب دوازده رسول
(متّی 1:10-4؛ لوقا 12:6-16)
13 بعد از آن عیسی به بالای كوهی رفت و اشخاصی را كه میخواست نزد خود خواند و آنها پیش او رفتند. 14 او دوازده نفر را تعیین كرد تا نزد او باشند و تا آنها را برای اعلام پیام خود بفرستد 15 و قدرت بیرون كردن دیوها را داشته باشند. 16 دوازده نفری كه انتخاب كرد عبارتند بودند از: شمعون كه عیسی به او لقب پطرس داد، 17 یعقوب فرزند زِبدی و برادرش یوحنا كه به آنها لقب «بوانرجس» یعنی «رعدآسا» داد. 18 و اندریاس و فیلیپُس و برتولما و متّی و توما و یعقوب پسر حَلفی و تدی و شمعون غیور
19 و یهودای اسخریوطی كه بعدها عیسی را تسلیم كرد.عیسی و بعلزبول
(متّی 22:12-32؛ لوقا 14:11-23؛ 10:12)
20 عیسی به منزل رفت. باز هم جمعیّت زیادی در آنجا جمع شد، به طوری که او و شاگردانش فرصت غذا خوردن نداشتند. 21 وقتی خویشاوندان او این را شنیدند، آمدند تا او را با خود ببرند، چون بعضی میگفتند كه او دیوانه شده است.
22 علمایی هم كه از اورشلیم آمده بودند، میگفتند: «او تحت فرمان بعلزبول است و دیوها را به یاری رئیس دیوها بیرون میکند.»
23 پس عیسی از مردم خواست كه جلو بیایند و برای آنها مثلهایی آورد و گفت: «شیطان چطور میتواند شیطان را بیرون كند؟ 24 اگر در مملكتی تفرقه باشد، آن مملكت نمیتواند دوام بیاورد. 25 و اگر در خانوادهای تفرقه بیفتد، آن خانواده نمیتواند پایدار بماند.
26 اگر شیطان نیز علیه شیطان قیام كند و در او تفرقه پیدا شود دیگر نمیتواند دوام بیاورد و سلطنتش به پایان خواهد رسید.
27 «همچنین هیچکس نمیتواند به خانهٔ مرد زورآوری وارد شود و اموال او را غارت كند، مگر اینکه اول آن زورمند را ببندد و پس از آن خانهاش را غارت نماید. 28 بدانید هر نوع گناه و كفری كه انسان مرتكب شده باشد، قابل آمرزش است. 29 امّا هرکه به روحالقدس كفر بگوید تا ابد آمرزیده نخواهد شد، نه در این دنیا و نه در دنیای آینده.»
30 عیسی این مَثَل را آورد چون عدّهای میگفتند: «او روح پلید دارد.»مادر و برادران عیسی

31 مادر و برادران عیسی آمدند و بیرون ایستاده، پیغام فرستادند كه عیسی نزد آنها برود. 32 جمعیّت زیادی دور او نشسته بودند و به او خبر دادند كه: «مادر و برادران تو بیرون ایستادهاند و تو را میخواهند.» 33 عیسی جواب داد: «مادر من كیست؟ برادران من چه كسانی هستند؟» 34 و به کسانیکه اطراف او نشسته بودند نگاه كرده، گفت: «اینها مادر و برادران من هستند. 35 چون هرکس ارادهٔ خدا را انجام دهد، برادر و خواهر و مادر من است.»

A Man with a Paralyzed Hand
(Matthew 12.9-14; Luke 6.6-11)
1 The next time Jesus went into the synagogue, a man with a paralyzed hand was there.
2 The Phariseest wanted to accuse Jesus of doing something wrong, and they kept watching to see if Jesus would heal him on the Sabbath.
3 Jesus told the man to stand up where everyone could see him.
4 Then he asked, “On the Sabbath should we do good deeds or evil deeds? Should we save someone's life or destroy it?” But no one said a word.
5 Jesus was angry as he looked around at the people. Yet he felt sorry for them because they were so stubborn. Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his bad hand was healed.
6 The Pharisees left. And at once they started making plans with Herod's followerst to kill Jesus.Large Crowds Come to Jesus
7 Jesus led his disciples down to the shore of the lake. Large crowds followed him from Galilee, Judea, 8 and Jerusalem. People came from Idumea, as well as other places east of the Jordan River. They also came from the region around the towns of Tyre and Sidon. All of these crowds came because they had heard what Jesus was doing.
9 t He even had to tell his disciples to get a boat ready to keep him from being crushed by the crowds.
10 After Jesus had healed many people, the other sick people begged him to let them touch him. 11 And whenever any evil spirits saw Jesus, they would fall to the ground and shout, “You are the Son of God!”
12 But Jesus warned the spirits not to tell who he was.Jesus Chooses //His Twelve Apostles
(Matthew 10.1-4; Luke 6.12-16)
13 Jesus decided to ask some of his disciples to go up on a mountain with him, and they went. 14 Then he chose twelve of them to be his apostles, t so they could be with him. He also wanted to send them out to preach 15 and to force out demons. 16 Simon was one of the twelve, and Jesus named him Peter. 17 There were also James and John, the two sons of Zebedee. Jesus called them Boanerges, which means “Thunderbolts.” 18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus were also apostles. The others were Simon, known as the Eager One, t
19 and Judas Iscariot, t who later betrayed Jesus.Jesus and the Ruler //of Demons
(Matthew 12.22-32; Luke 11.14-23; 12.10)
20 Jesus went back home, t and once again such a large crowd gathered that there was no chance even to eat.
21 When Jesus' family heard what he was doing, they thought he was crazy and went to get him under control.
22 t Some teachers of the Law of Moses came from Jerusalem and said, “This man is under the power of Beelzebul, the ruler of demons! He is even forcing out demons with the help of Beelzebul.”
23 Jesus told the people to gather around him. Then he spoke to them in riddles and said:
How can Satan force himself out? 24 A nation whose people fight each other won't last very long. 25 And a family that fights won't last long either.
26 So if Satan fights against himself, that will be the end of him.
27 How can anyone break into the house of a strong man and steal his things, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can take everything.
28 I promise you that any of the sinful things you say or do can be forgiven, no matter how terrible those things are.
29 t But if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you can never be forgiven. That sin will be held against you forever.
30 Jesus said this because the people were saying that he had an evil spirit in him.Jesus' Mother and Brothers
(Matthew 12.46-50; Luke 8.19-21)
31 Jesus' mother and brothers came and stood outside. Then they sent someone with a message for him to come out to them.
32 The crowd sitting around Jesus told him, “Your mother and your brothers and sisterst are outside and want to see you.”
33 Jesus asked, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?” 34 Then he looked at the people sitting around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 35 Anyone who obeys God is my brother or sister or mother.”
