Ang Sambingay Mahitungod sa Tigsabwag
(Mt. 13:1-9; Lu. 8:4-8)
1 Nagtudlo pag-usab si Jesus sa daplin sa linaw. Daghan kaayong mga tawo ang nagtigom sa iyang palibot. Busa misakay siya sa sakayan nga nagpundo didto ug milingkod. Ug ang mga tawo nagpabilin sa daplin sa linaw.2 Daghan ang iyang gitudlo kanila pinaagi sa mga sambingay.3 Miingon siya,4 Nasabwag ang uban nga binhi sa daplin sa dalan, ug gituka kini sa mga langgam.5 Ang uban nasabwag sa kabatoan. May gamay nga yuta didto busa dali ra nga miturok ang binhi.6 Apan nalawos kini sa dihang nainitan sa adlaw, ug namatay ra dayon tungod kay wala kini makagamot.7 Ang uban nga binhi nasabwag ug mitubo sa yuta nga may tunokon nga mga sagbot, apan sa paglabong sa mga sagbot natabonan kini, busa wala makapamunga.8 Ang uban usab nga binhi nasabwag sa maayo nga yuta, ug kini mitubo ug namunga. Ang Katuyoan sa mga Sambingay
(Mt. 13:10-17; Lu. 8:9-10)
10 Pagpamauli sa mga tawo, ang dose ka apostoles ug ang uban pa nga nag-uban kang Jesus nangutana kaniya kon unsa ang kahulogan niadtong sambingay.11 Miingon si Jesus kanila,

Gisaysay ni Jesus ang Sambingay Mahitungod sa Tigsabwag
(Mt. 13:18-23; Lu. 8:11-15)
13 Unya nangutana si Jesus kanila,14 add Ang kahulogan sa akong sambingay mao kini: ang gisabwag sa mag-uuma mao ang pulong sa Dios. 15 Ang mga binhi nga nasabwag sa dalan mao ang pulong sa Dios nga nadunggan sa mga tawo, apan miabot usab dayon si Satanas ug giilog niya ang pulong sa Dios nga gisabwag diha sa ilang mga kasingkasing.16 Ang mga binhi nga nasabwag sa kabatoan nga gamay lang ug yuta mao ang pulong sa Dios nga nadunggan sa mga tawo ug diha-diha gidawat nila nga malipayon.17 Apan kini dili kinasingkasing, busa wala molungtad ang ilang pagtuo. Sa pag-abot sa kalisod o paglutos tungod sa ilang pagdawat sa pulong sa Dios mibiya sila sa ilang pagtuo.18 Ang mga binhi nga nasabwag didto sa mga sagbot nga tunokon mao ang pulong sa Dios nga nadunggan sa mga tawo,19 apan tungod sa mga kabalaka sa panginabuhi ug pagpaningkamot nga makaangkon ug bahandi, ug tungod sa sobra nga pagtinguha sa uban pa nga mga kabtangan, nalimtan nila ang pulong sa Dios nga ilang nadunggan ug wala kini namunga sa ilang kinabuhi .
20 Apan ang mga binhi nga nasabwag sa maayo nga yuta mao ang pulong sa Dios nga nadungog sa mga tawo ug gidawat nila sa kinasingkasing ug namunga sa ilang kinabuhi . Ang Sambingay Mahitungod sa Suga
(Lu. 8:16-18)
21 Human niadto mipadayon sa pagsulti si Jesus kanila,22 Mao kana nga wala gayoy tinago nga dili mogawas sa kaulahian, ug walay tinagoan mahitungod sa paghari sa Dios nga dili mabutyag.23 Kamo nga nagapaminaw, kinahanglan sabton gayod ninyo kining inyong nadungog."24 Miingon pa gayod siya,
25 Kay ang tawo nga may pagsabot sa kamatuoran hatagan pa gayod. Apan ang tawo nga walay pagsabot sa kamatuoran, bisan ang gamay nga iyang nasabtan kuhaon pa kaniya."
Ang Sambingay Mahitungod sa Binhi nga Nagtubo
26 Miingon pa gayod si Jesus,27 Samtang nagpadayon siya sa iyang buluhaton matag adlaw ug sa iyang pagkatulog matag gabii, ang mga binhi nga iyang gisabwag nagatubo bisan wala niya mahibaloi kon sa unsang pamaagi.28 Ang yuta mao ang mopatubo ug mopabunga sa mga tanom: una ang dahon, sunod ang uhay, ug ang ulahi ang timgas nga bunga.
29 Ug kon hinog na, anihon sa tag-iya kay anihonon na man."
Ang Sambingay Mahitungod sa Binhi sa Mustasa
(Mt. 13:31-32, 34; Lu. 13:18-19)
30 Nangutana si Jesus kanila, add Miingon siya,
32 apan kon matanom na, motubo ug molabaw pa sa tanan nga mga utanon nga bisan ang mga langgam makahimo sa pagsalag diha sa iyang labong nga mga sanga."
33 Daghan pa nga mga sambingay nga sama niini ang gigamit ni Jesus sa iyang pagpanudlo sa mga tawo, sumala lang sa ilang masabtan.
34 Wala siya mosulti sa mga tawo nga dili pinaagi sa sambingay, apan gipasabot niya kining tanan sa iyang mga sumusunod kon sila na lang.
Gipahunong ni Jesus ang Bagyo
(Mt. 8:23-27; Lu. 8:22-25)
35 Sa pagkagabii na, miingon si Jesus sa iyang mga sumusunod,36 Busa gibiyaan sa iyang mga sumusunod ang daghang mga tawo nga nagtigom, ug misakay sila didto sa sakayan nga gisakyan ni Jesus. May mga sakayan usab didto nga midungan kanila.37 Ug sa nagalawig na sila, kalit lang mihuros ang kusog nga hangin. Sige ang hapak sa dagko nga mga balod, ug hapit na mapuno sa tubig ang sakayan.38 Apan si Jesus didto sa ulin + 4:38 ulin: Sa tumoy sa sakayan. sa sakayan natulog nga nag-unlan. Gipukaw nila siya. Mark 4
The Story of the Scattered Seed
1-2 He went back to teaching by the sea. A crowd built up to such a great size that he had to get into an offshore boat, using the boat as a pulpit as the people pushed to the water's edge. He taught by using stories, many stories.
3-8 "Listen. What do you make of this? A farmer planted seed. As he scattered the seed, some of it fell on the road and birds ate it. Some fell in the gravel; it sprouted quickly but didn't put down roots, so when the sun came up it withered just as quickly. Some fell in the weeds; as it came up, it was strangled among the weeds and nothing came of it. Some fell on good earth and came up with a flourish, producing a harvest exceeding his wildest dreams.
9 "Are you listening to this? Really listening?"
10-12 When they were off by themselves, those who were close to him, along with the Twelve, asked about the stories. He told them, "You've been given insight into God's kingdom—you know how it works. But to those who can't see it yet, everything comes in stories, creating readiness, nudging them toward receptive insight. These are people—
Whose eyes are open but don't see a thing, Whose ears are open but don't understand a word, Who avoid making an about-face and getting forgiven."
13 He continued, "Do you see how this story works? All my stories work this way.
14-15 "The farmer plants the Word. Some people are like the seed that falls on the hardened soil of the road. No sooner do they hear the Word than Satan snatches away what has been planted in them.
16-17 "And some are like the seed that lands in the gravel. When they first hear the Word, they respond with great enthusiasm. But there is such shallow soil of character that when the emotions wear off and some difficulty arrives, there is nothing to show for it.
18-19 "The seed cast in the weeds represents the ones who hear the kingdom news but are overwhelmed with worries about all the things they have to do and all the things they want to get. The stress strangles what they heard, and nothing comes of it.
20 "But the seed planted in the good earth represents those who hear the Word, embrace it, and produce a harvest beyond their wildest dreams."
Giving, Not Getting
21-22 Jesus went on: "Does anyone bring a lamp home and put it under a washtub or beneath the bed? Don't you put it up on a table or on the mantel? We're not keeping secrets, we're telling them; we're not hiding things, we're bringing them out into the open.
23 "Are you listening to this? Really listening?
24-25 "Listen carefully to what I am saying—and be wary of the shrewd advice that tells you how to get ahead in the world on your own. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity. Stinginess impoverishes."
Never Without a Story
26-29 Then Jesus said, "God's kingdom is like seed thrown on a field by a man who then goes to bed and forgets about it. The seed sprouts and grows—he has no idea how it happens. The earth does it all without his help: first a green stem of grass, then a bud, then the ripened grain. When the grain is fully formed, he reaps—harvest time!
30-32 "How can we picture God's kingdom? What kind of story can we use? It's like a pine nut. When it lands on the ground it is quite small as seeds go, yet once it is planted it grows into a huge pine tree with thick branches. Eagles nest in it."
33-34 With many stories like these, he presented his message to them, fitting the stories to their experience and maturity. He was never without a story when he spoke. When he was alone with his disciples, he went over everything, sorting out the tangles, untying the knots.
The Wind Ran Out of Breath
35-38 Late that day he said to them, "Let's go across to the other side." They took him in the boat as he was. Other boats came along. A huge storm came up. Waves poured into the boat, threatening to sink it. And Jesus was in the stern, head on a pillow, sleeping! They roused him, saying, "Teacher, is it nothing to you that we're going down?"
39-40 Awake now, he told the wind to pipe down and said to the sea, "Quiet! Settle down!" The wind ran out of breath; the sea became smooth as glass. Jesus reprimanded the disciples: "Why are you such cowards? Don't you have any faith at all?"
41 They were in absolute awe, staggered. "Who is this, anyway?" they asked. "Wind and sea at his beck and call!"
