Parabola del seminatore
(Mat. 13.1-23 e rif.)
1 POI prese di nuovo ad insegnare, presso al mare; ed una gran moltitudine si raunò presso a lui, talchè egli, montato nella navicella, sedeva in essa sul mare; e tutta la moltitudine era in terra, presso del mare.
2 Ed egli insegnava loro molte cose in parabole, e diceva loro nella sua dottrina:
3 Udite: Ecco, un seminatore uscì a seminare.
4 Ed avvenne che mentre egli seminava, una parte cadde lungo la via, e gli uccelli del cielo vennero, e la mangiarono.
5 Ed un'altra cadde in luoghi pietrosi, ove non avea molta terra; e subito nacque, perciocchè non avea terreno profondo;
6 ma quando il sole fu levato, fu riarsa; e, perciocchè non avea radice, si seccò.
7 Ed un'altra cadde fra le spine, e le spine crebbero, e l'affogarono, e non fece frutto.
8 Ed un'altra cadde in buona terra, e portò frutto, il quale montò, e crebbe; e portò l'uno trenta, l'altro sessanta e l'altro cento.
9 Poi egli disse: Chi ha orecchie da udire, oda.
10 Ora, quando egli fu in disparte coloro che lo seguitavano, co'~dodici, lo domandarono della parabola. 11 Ed egli disse loro: A voi è dato di conoscere il misterio del regno di Dio; ma a coloro che son di fuori tutte queste cose si propongono per parabole.
12 Acciocchè riguardino bene, ma non veggano; e odano bene, ma non intendanot; che talora non si convertano, ed i peccati non sien loro rimessi.
13 Poi disse loro: Non intendete voi questa parabola? e come intenderete tutte le altre parabole?
14 Il seminatore è colui che semina la parola.
15 Or questi son coloro che ricevono la semenza lungo la strada, cioè, coloro ne'~quali la parola è seminata, e dopo che l'hanno udita, subito viene Satana, e toglie via la parola seminata ne'~loro cuori.
16 E simigliantemente questi son coloro che ricevono la semenza in luoghi pietrosi, cioè, coloro i quali, quando hanno udita la parola, prestamente la ricevono con allegrezza.
17 Ma non hanno in sè radice, anzi son di corta durata; e poi, avvenendo tribolazione, o persecuzione per la parola, subito sono scandalezzati.
18 E questi son coloro che ricevono la semenza fra le spine, cioè, coloro che odono la parola.
19 Ma le sollecitudini di questo secolo, e l'inganno delle ricchezze, e le cupidità delle altre cose, entrate, affogano la parola, onde diviene infruttuosa.
20 Ma questi son coloro che hanno ricevuta la semenza in buona terra, cioè, coloro i quali odono la parola, e la ricevono, e portano frutto, l'un trenta, e l'altro sessanta, e l'altro cento.Parabola della lampana

21 DISSE loro ancora: È la lampana recata, acciocchè si ponga sotto il moggiot, o sotto il letto? non è ella recata, acciocchè sia posta sopra il candelliere?
22 Poichè nulla è occulto, che non debba esser manifestato; ed anche nulla è restato occulto per lo passato: ma è convenuto che fosse palesatot.
23 Se alcuno ha orecchie da udire, oda.
24 Disse loro ancora: Ponete mente a ciò che voi udite. Della misura che misurate, vi sarà misuratot; ed a voi che udite sarà sopraggiunto.
25 Perciocchè a chiunque ha, sarà dato; ma chi non ha, eziandio quel ch'egli ha gli sarà toltot.Parabola della semenza
26 OLTRE a ciò disse: Il regno di Dio è come se un uomo avesse gettata la semenza in terra; 27 e dormisse, e si levasse di giorno, e di notte; ed intanto la semenza germogliasse, e crescesse nella maniera ch'egli non sa. 28 Poichè la terra da sè stessa produce prima erba, poi spiga, poi grano compiuto nella spiga.
29 E quando il frutto è maturo, subito vi si mette la falce, perciocchè la mietitura è venutat.Parabola del granel di senape

30 DICEVA ancora: A che assomiglieremo il regno di Dio? o con qual similitudine lo rappresenteremo? 31 Egli è simile ad un granel di senape, il quale, quando è seminato in terra, è il più piccolo di tutti i semi che son sopra la terra;
32 ma, dopo che è stato seminato, cresce, e si fa la maggiore di tutte l'erbe, e fa rami grandit, talchè gli uccelli del cielo possono ripararsi sotto l'ombra sua.
33 E per molte tali parabole proponeva loro la parola, secondo che potevano udiret.
34 E non parlava loro senza similitudine; ma, in disparte, egli dichiarava ogni cosa a'~suoi discepoli.Gesù acqueta la tempesta

35 OR in quello stesso giorno, fattosi sera, disse loro: Passiamo all'altra riva. 36 E i discepoli, licenziata la moltitudine, lo raccolsero, così come egli era, nella navicella. Or vi erano delle altre navicelle con lui.
37 Ed un gran turbo di vento si levò, e cacciava le onde dentro alla navicella, talchè quella già si empieva.
38 Or egli era a poppa, dormendo sopra un guanciale. Ed essi lo destarono, e gli dissero: Maestro, non ti curi tu che noi periamo? 39 Ed egli, destatosi, sgridò il vento, e disse al mare: Taci, e sta'~cheto. E il vento si acquetò, e si fece gran bonaccia.
40 Poi disse loro: Perchè siete voi così timidi? come non avete voi fede?
41 Ed essi temettero di gran timore, e dicevano gli uni agli altri: Chi è pur costui, cui il vento ed il mare ubbidiscono?

The Parable of the Sower
1 Again he began to teach by the lake. Such a large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat on the lake and sat there whilet the whole crowd was on the shore by the lake.2 He taught them many things in parables,s and in his teaching said to them:3 “Listen! A sower went out to sow.s4 And as he sowed, some seedt fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.5 Other seed fell on rocky grounds where it did not have much soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep.t6 When the sun came up it was scorched, and because it did not have sufficient root,t it withered.7 Other seed fell among the thorns,s and they grew up and choked it,s and it did not produce grain.8 Butt other seed fell on good soil and produced grain, sprouting and growing; some yielded thirty times as much, some sixty, and some a hundred times.”
9 And he said, “Whoever has ears to hear had better listen!”t
The Purpose of Parables
10 When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.
11 He said to them, “The secretts of the kingdom of God has been givent to you. But to those outside, everything is in parables,
12 so that although they look they may look but not see,
and although they hear they may hear but not understand,
so they may not repent and be forgiven.”s
13 He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? Thent how will you understand any parable?14 The sower sows the word.15 These are the ones on the path where the word is sown: Whenever they hear, immediately Satans comes and snatches the words that was sown in them.16 These are the ones sown on rocky ground: As soon as they hear the word, they receive it with joy.17 Butt they have no root in themselves and do not endure.t Then, when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, immediately they fall away.18 Others are the ones sown among thorns: They are those who hear the word,19 butt worldly cares, the seductiveness of wealth,t and the desire for other things come in and choke the word,s and it produces nothing.
20 Butt these are the ones sown on good soil: They hear the word and receive it and bear fruit, one thirty times as much, one sixty, and one a hundred.”
The Parable of the Lamp
21 He also said to them, “A lamps isn’t brought to be put under a baskett or under a bed, is it? Isn’t it to be placed on a lampstand?22 For nothing is hidden except to be revealed,t and nothing concealed except to be brought to light.23 If anyone has ears to hear, he had better listen!”t24 And he said to them, “Take care about what you hear. The measure you use will be the measure you receive,t and more will be added to you.
25 For whoever has will be given more, butt whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.”s
The Parable of the Growing Seed
26 He also said, “The kingdom of God is like someone who spreads seed on the ground.27 He goes to sleep and gets up, night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.28 By itself the soil produces a crop, first the stalk, then the head, then the full grain in the head.
29 And when the grain is ripe, he sends in the sicklet because the harvest has come.”s
The Parable of the Mustard Seed
30 He also asked, “To what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use to present it?31 It is like a mustard seeds that when sown in the ground, even though it is the smallest of all the seeds in the ground –
32 when it is sown, it grows up,t becomes the greatest of all garden plants, and grows large branches so that the wild birdst can nest in its shade.”s
The Use of Parables
33 Sot with many parables like these, he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear.
34 He did not speak to them without a parable. But privately he explained everything to his own disciples.
Stilling of a Storm
35 On that day, when evening came, Jesust said to his disciples, “Let’s go across to the other side of the lake.”t36 Sot after leaving the crowd, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat,ts and other boats were with him.37 Nowt a great windstormts developed and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was nearly swamped.38 Butt he was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. They woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care that we are about to die?”39 Sot he got up and rebukedt the wind, and said to the sea,s “Be quiet! Calm down!” Thent the wind stopped, and it was dead calm.40 And he said to them, “Why are you cowardly? Do you still not have faith?”
41 They were overwhelmed by fear and said to one another, “Who then is this?s Even the wind and sea obey him!”s
