مَثَل برزگر
(متّی 1:13-9؛ لوقا 4:8-8)
1 عیسی باز هم در كنار دریاچهٔ جلیل به تعلیم مردم پرداخت. جمعیّت زیادی دور او جمع شدند، به طوری که مجبور شد به قایقی كه روی آب بود، سوار شود و در آن بنشیند. مردم در كنار ساحل ایستاده بودند 2 و او با مَثَل تعالیم زیادی به آنها داد. در ضمن تعلیم به آنها گفت: 3 «گوش كنید: برزگری برای كاشتن بذر به صحرا رفت. 4 وقتی مشغول پاشیدن بذر بود، مقداری از بذرها در راه افتاد و پرندگان آمده آنها را خوردند. 5 بعضی از بذرها روی سنگلاخ، جاییكه خاک كم بود افتاد و چون زمین عمقی نداشت، زود سبز شد. 6 امّا وقتی خورشید بر آنها تابید، همه سوختند و چون ریشهای نداشتند، خشک شدند. 7 مقداری از بذرها در میان خارها افتادند و خارها رشد كرده آنها را خفه كردند و جوانهها حاصلی نیاوردند. 8 و بعضی از بذرها در داخل خاک خوب افتادند و سبز شده، رشد كردند و ثمر آوردند و حاصل آنها سی برابر، شصت برابر و صد برابر بود.»
9 و بعد عیسی اضافه كرد: «هرکه گوش شنوا دارد، بشنود.»مقصود مَثَلها

10 وقتی عیسی تنها بود، همراهانش با آن دوازده نفر دربارهٔ این مَثَلها از او سؤال كردند. 11 او جواب داد: «قدرت درک اسرار پادشاهی خدا به شما عطا شده است امّا برای دیگران همهچیز به صورت مَثَل بیان میشود
12 تا:
'دایماً نگاه كنند و چیزی نبینند،
پیوسته بشنوند و چیزی نفهمند،
مبادا به سوی خدا برگردند و آمرزیده شوند.'»توضیح مَثَل برزگر
(متّی 18:13-23؛ لوقا 11:8-15)
13 سپس عیسی به آنها گفت: «شما این مَثَل را نمیفهمید؟ پس چگونه سایر مثلها را خواهید فهمید؟ 14 برزگر، كلام خدا را پخش میکند. 15 دانههایی كه در كنار راه میافتند كسانی هستند كه به محض اینکه كلام خدا را میشنوند، شیطان میآید و كلامی را كه در دلهایشان كاشته شده است میرباید. 16 دانههایی كه در زمین سنگلاخ میافتد، مانند كسانی هستند كه به محض شنیدن كلام خدا با خوشحالی آن را قبول میکنند. 17 امّا كلام در آنها ریشه نمیگیرد و دوامی ندارد و وقتی بهخاطر كلام، زحمت و یا گرفتاری برای آنها پیش میآید، فوراً دلسرد میشوند. 18 دانههایی كه در میان خارها میافتند، مانند كسانی هستند كه كلام را میشنوند 19 امّا نگرانیهای زندگی و عشق به مال دنیا و هوی و هوس و چیزهای دیگر، داخل میشوند و كلام را خفه میکنند و آن را بیثمر میسازند.
20 و بذرهایی كه در خاک خوب میافتند مانند كسانی هستند كه كلام را میشنوند و از آن استقبال میکنند و سی برابر و شصت برابر و صد برابر ثمر میآورند.»چراغ زیر تشت
(لوقا 16:8-18)
21 عیسی به آنها فرمود: «آیا كسی چراغ را میآورد تا آن را زیر تشت یا تخت بگذارد؟ البتّه نه، آن را میآورد تا روی چراغپایهای بگذارد. 22 هیچ چیز پنهانی نیست كه آشكار نگردد و هیچ چیز پوشیدهای نیست كه پرده از رویش برداشته نشود.
23 اگر گوش شنوا دارید، بشنوید.»
24 باز به آنها فرمود: «در آنچه میشنوید دقّت كنید. با هر پیمانهای كه بدهید، با همان پیمانه هم میگیرید و چیزی هم علاوه بر آن دریافت میدارید.
25 هرکه دارد به او بیشتر داده خواهد شد و آنکه ندارد آنچه را هم دارد، از دست خواهد داد.»مَثَل روییدن دانه
26 عیسی فرمود: «پادشاهی خدا، مانند مردی است كه در مزرعهٔ خود بذر میپاشد. 27 دانه سبز میشود و رشد میکند امّا چطور؟ او نمیداند. شب و روز، چه او در خواب باشد و چه بیدار، 28 زمین به خودی خود سبب میشود كه گیاه بروید و ثمر بیاورد؛ اول جوانه، بعد خوشه و بعد دانهٔ رسیده در داخل خوشه.
29 امّا به محض اینکه محصول میرسد، او با داس خود به كار مشغول میشود، چون موسم درو رسیده است.»مَثَل دانهٔ خَردَل
(متّی 31:13-32 و 34 لوقا 18:13-19)
30 عیسی فرمود: «پادشاهی خدا را به چه چیزی تشبیه كنم و یا با چه مَثَلی آن را شرح بدهم؟ 31 مانند دانهٔ خَردَلی است كه در زمین كاشته میشود. خردل كوچكترین دانههای روی زمین است،
32 امّا وقتیکه كاشته شود، رشد میکند و از هر بوتهٔ دیگری بلندتر میگردد و شاخههای آن به اندازهای بزرگ میشود كه پرندگان میتوانند در میان شاخههای آن لانه بسازند.»
33 عیسی با مثلهای زیادی از این قبیل، پیام خود را تا آنجا كه آنها قادر به فهم آن بودند، برای مردم بیان میکرد
34 و برای آنها بدون مَثَل چیزی نمیگفت. امّا وقتی تنها بودند، همهچیز را برای شاگردان خود شرح میداد.آرامش توفان
(متّی 23:8-27؛ لوقا 22:8-25)
35 عصر همان روز عیسی به شاگردان فرمود: «به آن طرف دریا برویم.» 36 پس آنها جمعیّت را ترک كردند و او را با همان قایقی كه در آن نشسته بود، بردند و قایقهای دیگری هم همراه آنها بود. 37 توفان شدیدی برخاست و امواج به قایق میزد به طوری که نزدیک بود، قایق غرق شود.
38 در این موقع عیسی در عقب قایق، سر خود را روی بالشی گذارده و خوابیده بود. شاگردانش او را بیدار كردند و به او گفتند: «ای استاد، مگر در فكر ما نیستی؟ نزدیک است غرق شویم!»
39 او برخاست و با پرخاش به باد فرمان داد و به دریا گفت: «ساكت و آرام شو.» باد ایستاد و آرامش كامل برقرار شد.
40 بعد عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «چرا اینقدر ترسیدهاید؟ آیا هنوز ایمان ندارید؟»
41 آنها وحشتزده به یكدیگر میگفتند: «این كیست كه حتّی باد و دریا هم از او اطاعت میکنند؟»

A Story about a Farmer
(Matthew 13.1-9; Luke 8.4-8)
1 t The next time Jesus taught beside Lake Galilee, a big crowd gathered. It was so large that he had to sit in a boat out on the lake, while the people stood on the shore.
2 He used stories to teach them many things, and this is part of what he taught:
3 Now listen! A farmer went out to scatter seed in a field. 4 While the farmer was scattering the seed, some of it fell along the road and was eaten by birds. 5 Other seeds fell on thin, rocky ground and quickly started growing because the soil wasn't very deep. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched and dried up, because they did not have deep roots. 7 Some other seeds fell where thornbushes grew up and choked out the plants. So they did not produce any grain.
8 But a few seeds did fall on good ground where the plants grew and produced 30 or 60 or even 100 times as much as was scattered.
9 Then Jesus said, “If you have ears, pay attention.”Why Jesus Used Stories

10 When Jesus was alone with the twelve apostles and some others, they asked him about these stories.
11 He answered:
I have explained the secret about God's kingdom to you, but for others I can use only stories.
12 t The reason is,
“These people will look
and look, but never see.
They will listen and listen,
but never understand.
If they did,
they would turn to God

(Matthew 13.18-23; Luke 8.11-15)
13 Jesus then told them:
If you don't understand this story, you won't understand any others. 14 What the farmer is spreading is really the message about the kingdom. 15 The seeds that fell along the road are the people who hear the message. But Satan soon comes and snatches it away from them. 16 The seeds that fell on rocky ground are the people who gladly hear the message and accept it at once.
17 But they don't have roots, and they don't last very long. As soon as life gets hard or the message gets them in trouble, they give up.
18 The seeds that fell among the thornbushes are also people who hear the message. 19 But they start worrying about the needs of this life. They are fooled by the desire to get rich and to have all kinds of other things. So the message gets choked out, and they never produce anything.
20 The seeds that fell on good ground are the people who hear and welcome the message. They produce 30 or 60 or even 100 times as much as was planted.Light

21 t Jesus also said:
You don't light a lamp and put it under a clay pot or under a bed. Don't you put a lamp on a lampstand? 22 t There is nothing hidden that will not be made public. There is no secret that will not be well known.
23 If you have ears, pay attention!
24 t Listen carefully to what you hear! The way you treat others will be the way you will be treated—and even worse.
25 t Everyone who has something will be given more. But people who don't have anything will lose what little they have.Another Story about Seeds
26 Again Jesus said:
God's kingdom is like what happens when a farmer scatters seed in a field. 27 The farmer sleeps at night and is up and around during the day. Yet the seeds keep sprouting and growing, and he doesn't understand how. 28 It is the ground that makes the seeds sprout and grow into plants that produce grain.
29 t Then when harvest season comes and the grain is ripe, the farmer cuts it with a sickle.tA Mustard Seed

30 Finally, Jesus said:
What is God's kingdom like? What story can I use to explain it? 31 It is like what happens when a mustard seed is planted in the ground. It is the smallest seed in all the world.
32 But once it is planted, it grows larger than any garden plant. It even puts out branches that are big enough for birds to nest in its shade.The Reason for Teaching //with Stories

33 Jesus used many other stories when he spoke to the people, and he taught them as much as they could understand.
34 He did not tell them anything without using stories. But when he was alone with his disciples, he explained everything to them.A Storm
(Matthew 8.23-27; Luke 8.22-25)
35 That evening, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let's cross to the east side.” 36 So they left the crowd, and his disciples started across the lake with him in the boat. Some other boats followed along.
37 Suddenly a storm struck the lake. Waves started splashing into the boat, and it was about to sink.
38 Jesus was in the back of the boat with his head on a pillow, and he was asleep. His disciples woke him and said, “Teacher, don't you care that we're about to drown?”
39 Jesus got up and ordered the wind and the waves to be quiet. The wind stopped, and everything was calm.
40 Jesus asked his disciples, “Why were you afraid? Don't you have any faith?”
41 Now they were more afraid than ever and said to each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
