2 Abraham fue el padre des Isaac;
Isaac, padre de Jacob; Jacob, padre de Judá y de sus hermanos; 3 Judá, padre de Fares y de Zera, cuya madre fue Tamar;
Fares, padre de Jezrón; Jezrón, padre de Aram; 4 Aram, padre de Aminadab;
Aminadab, padre de Naasón; Naasón, padre de Salmón; 5 Salmón, padre de Booz, cuya madre fue Rajab;
Booz, padre de Obed, cuya madre fue Rut; Obed, padre de Isaí; 6 e Isaí, padre del rey David.
David fue el padre de Salomón, cuya madre había sido la esposa de Urías; 7 Salomón, padre de Roboán;
Roboán, padre de Abías; Abías, padre de Asá; 8 Asá, padre de Josafat;

Sadoc, padre de Aquín; Aquín, padre de Eliud; 15 Eliud, padre de Eleazar;
Eleazar, padre de Matán; Matán, padre de Jacob; 16 y Jacob fue padre de José, que fue el esposo de María, de la cual nació Jesús, llamado el *Cristo.
17 Así que hubo en total catorce generaciones desde Abraham hasta David, catorce desde David hasta la deportación a Babilonia, y catorce desde la deportación hasta el Cristo.

Nacimiento de Jesucristo

18 El nacimiento de Jesús, el *Cristo, fue así: Su madre, María, estaba comprometida para casarse con José, pero antes de unirse a él, resultó que estaba encinta por obra del Espíritu Santo. 19 Como José, su esposo, era un hombre justo y no quería exponerla a vergüenza pública, resolvió divorciarse de ella en secreto.
20 Pero cuando él estaba considerando hacerlo, se le apareció en sueños un ángel del Señor y le dijo: «José, hijo de David, no temas recibir a María por esposa, porque ella ha concebido por obra del Espíritu Santo. 21 Dará a luz un hijo, y le pondrás por nombre Jesús,sporque él salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados.»
22 Todo esto sucedió para que se cumpliera lo que el Señor había dicho por medio del profeta: 23 «La virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, y lo llamarán Emanuel»s (que significa «Dios con nosotros»).
24 Cuando José se despertó, hizo lo que el ángel del Señor le había mandado y recibió a María por esposa. 25 Pero no tuvo relaciones conyugales con ella hasta que dio a luz un hijo,s a quien le puso por nombre Jesús.

1 This is the record of the genealogyt of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 Abraham was the fathert of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,3 Judah the father of Perez and Zerah (by Tamar), Perez the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram,4 Ram the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon,5 Salmon the father of Boaz (by Rahab), Boaz the father of Obed (by Ruth), Obed the father of Jesse,

6 and Jesse the father of David the king.
David was the father of Solomon (by the wife of Uriahs),7 Solomon the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, Abijah the father of Asa,s8 Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, Joram the father of Uzziah,9 Uzziah the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, Ahaz the father of Hezekiah,10 Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amon,s Amon the father of Josiah,

11 and Josiahs the father of Jeconiah and his brothers, at the time of the deportation to Babylon.
12 Aftert the deportation to Babylon, Jeconiah became the father of Shealtiel,s Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,13 Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, Abiud the father of Eliakim, Eliakim the father of Azor,14 Azor the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Achim, Achim the father of Eliud,15 Eliud the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,

16 and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, by whomsss Jesus was born, who is called Christ.ts

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon, fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to Christ,ts fourteen generations.

The Birth of Jesus Christ

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened this way. While his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came together,t she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.19 Because Joseph, her husband to be,t was a righteous man, and because he did not want to disgrace her, he intended to divorce herts privately.20 When he had contemplated this, ant angel of the Lordt appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.21 She will give birth to a son and you will name himt Jesus,s because he will save his people from their sins.”22 This all happened so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet would be fulfilled:23 “Look! The virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call himtEmmanuel,”s which meanst “God with us.”s24 When Joseph awoke from sleep he did what the angel of the Lordt told him. He took his wife,

25 but did not have marital relationst with her until she gave birth to a son, whom he namedt Jesus.
