Ang Dose ka Apostoles

(Mar. 3:13-19; Luc. 6:12-16)

1 Gintawag ni Jesus ang iya dose ka sumulunod kag ginhatagan niya sila sing gahom sa pagtabog sang malaot nga mga espiritu. Ginhatagan man niya sila sang gahom sa pag-ayo sang tanan nga klase sang balatian.2  Amo ini ang ngalan sang dose ka apostoles: + 2 apostoles: Tan-awa ang Lista sang mga Pulong sa likod. f si Simon (nga ginatawag Pedro) nga amo ang nagapanguna sa ila, si Andres nga iya utod, ang duha ka anak ni Zebedee nga si Santiago kag si Juan,3 si Felipe, si Bartolome, si Tomas, si Mateo (nga manugsukot sang buhis), si Santiago nga anak ni Alfeus, si Tadeus,

4  si Simon (nga sang una rebelde sa gobyerno sang Roma), kag si Judas Iscariote + 4 Judas Iscariote: Indi apelyido ni Judas ang Siguro ang buot silingon, Judas nga taga-Keriot. nga amo ang nagtraidor kay Jesus.

Ang Buluhaton sang Dose ka Apostoles

(Mar. 6:7-13; Luc. 9:1-6)

5  Sa wala pa mapalakat ni Jesus ang dose ka apostoles ginsilingan niya sila,6 kundi kadtui ninyo ang katawhan sang Israel nga pareho sa mga karnero nga nagtalang.7  Ibantala ninyo sa ila nga malapit na + 7 malapit na: ukon, nag-abot na. ang paghari sang Dios.8  Ayuha ninyo ang mga masakiton, banhawa ninyo ang mga patay, ayuha ninyo ang mga tawo nga may delikado nga balatian sa panit + 8 delikado nga balatian sa panit: Tan-awa ang sa 8:2. f agod makabig sila nga matinlo, kag tabuga ninyo ang malaot nga mga espiritu. Nakabaton kamo sa Dios nga wala sing bayad, gani maghatag man kamo nga wala sing bayad.9  Indi kamo magbalon sang kuwarta, + 9 kuwarta: sa literal, bulawan, pilak kag saway. Ang ila mga kuwarta hinimo halin sa sini nga mga materyal. f

10 ukon bag, ukon ilislan nga bayo, ukon sandalyas, ukon baston, kay ang nagapangabudlay dapat gid man nga hatagan sang iya mga kinahanglanon.
12 Sa inyo pagsulod sa sina nga balay, bendisyunan ninyo ang mga nagaestar didto.13 Kon matuod nga ginabaton nila kamo, bendisyuni ninyo sila, pero kon indi, indi ninyo pagbendisyuni.14  Kon may mga panimalay ukon banwa nga indi gid magbaton sa inyo ukon indi gid magpamati sa inyo, bayai na lang ninyo sila. Paghalin ninyo, taktaka ninyo ang yab-ok sa inyo tiil bilang paandam batok sa ila .

15 Sa pagkamatuod, sa adlaw sang paghukom, mas labaw pa nga silot ang mabaton nila sang sa mga taga-Sodom kag mga taga-Gomora."

Ang Palaabuton nga mga Paghingabot

(Mar. 13:9-13; Luc. 12:12-17)

17 Mag-andam kamo sa mga tawo, kay pagadakpon nila kamo kag dal-on sa mga hukmanan kag pagahanuton nila kamo sa ila mga simbahan.18 Iakusar nila kamo sa mga gobernador kag mga hari tungod sang inyo pagsunod sa akon. Kag didto magasugid kamo sang Maayong Balita sa ila kag sa mga indi Judio.19  Kon imbistigaron na kamo, indi kamo magpalibog kon ano ang inyo ihambal, kag kon paano kamo magsabat. Kay kon kamo didto na, ang Espiritu Santo amo ang magatudlo sa inyo kon ano ang inyo isabat.

20 Gani ang inyo ihambal indi inyo kundi iya sang Espiritu nga halin sa inyo Amay. Siya ang magahambal paagi sa inyo.
22  Dumtan kamo sang tanan tungod sang inyo pagsunod sa akon. Pero ang nagapadayon sa pagsunod hasta sa katapusan amo ang maluwas.

23  Kon hingabuton kamo sa isa ka banwa, magpalagyo kamo pakadto sa isa ka banwa. Kay sa pagkamatuod, sa wala pa ninyo malibot ang tanan nga banwa sang Israel, ako nga Anak sang Tawo magabalik.

25  Gani tuman na sa estudyante nga mangin pareho sa iya maestro, kag sa ulipon nga mangin pareho sa iya agalon. Kon ako nga nagapamuno sa inyo gintawag nga Satanas, + 25 Satanas: sa Griego, Beelzebul. ano pa gid ayhan kalain ang ila itawag sa inyo nga akon mga sumulunod."

Ang Dapat Kahadlukan

(Luc. 12:2-7)

27 Ang mga butang nga sa inyo ko lang ginasugid, isugid ninyo sa tanan. Kag ang mga butang nga akon ginahutik sa inyo, ibantala ninyo sa mga tawo.28 Indi kamo magkahadlok sa mga tawo nga makapatay sa inyo lawas pero indi makapatay sa inyo kalag. Ang Dios amo ang dapat ninyo kahadlukan, tungod nga siya ang sarang makalaglag sa inyo lawas kag sa inyo kalag sa impyerno.29  Indi bala barato lang ang pispis nga maya? Pero wala sing isa sa ila nga mahulog sa duta nga indi suno sa pagbuot sang inyo Amay.30 Kag kon parte sa inyo, bisan pa ang inyo buhok sa ulo naisip niya tanan.

31 Gani indi kamo magkahadlok, kay mas mahal pa kamo sang sa madamo nga mga maya."

Ang Pagkilala kay Cristo

(Luc. 12:8-9)

33 Pero ang bisan sin-o nga wala nagakilala sa akon sa atubangan sang mga tawo, indi ko man pagkilalahon sa atubangan sang akon Amay sa langit."

Ang mga Miyembro sang Panimalay Magakontrahanay Tungod kay Cristo

(Luc. 12:51-53; 14:26-27)

35 Kay tungod sa akon, magakontra ang anak nga lalaki sa iya amay, ang anak nga babayi sa iya iloy, kag ang umagad nga babayi sa iya ugangan nga babayi.

36  Ang mangin kontra sang isa ka tawo amo mismo ang miyembro sang iya kaugalingon nga panimalay. + 35,36 Mik. 7:6.
38  Ang bisan sin-o nga indi magsunod sa akon tungod kay nahadlok siya nga mapatay para sa akon + 38 nahadlok siya nga mapatay para sa akon: sa literal, indi siya magpas-an sang iya krus. Ang krus diri nagasimbolo sang kamatayon, kay isa sa mga paagi sa pagsilot sa mga kriminal sadto nga panahon amo ang kamatayon sa krus. f indi takos sa akon.

39 Ang nagapaniguro nga indi madula ang iya kabuhi madula pa gani. Pero ang nagasikway sang iya kabuhi tungod sa iya pagsunod sa akon makabaton sang kabuhi nga wala sing katapusan."

Ang mga Balos

(Mar. 9:41)

41 Ang tawo nga nagabaton sang propeta tungod sa pagkapropeta sini magabaton sang balos halin sa Dios pareho sang pagabatunon sang propeta. Kag ang nagabaton sang matarong nga tawo tungod sa pagkamatarong sini magabaton sang balos halin sa Dios pareho sang pagabatunon sang matarong nga tawo.42  Kag ang bisan sin-o nga maghatag sang bisan isa lang ka baso nga tubig sa isa sang akon labing kubos nga sumulunod tungod kay ini siya akon sumulunod, ina nga tawo magabaton gid sang iya balos."

Matthew 10

The Twelve Harvest Hands

1-4 The prayer was no sooner prayed than it was answered. Jesus called twelve of his followers and sent them into the ripe fields. He gave them power to kick out the evil spirits and to tenderly care for the bruised and hurt lives. This is the list of the twelve he sent:
Simon (they called him Peter, or "Rock"), Andrew, his brother, James, Zebedee's son, John, his brother, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, the tax man, James, son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon, the Canaanite, Judas Iscariot (who later turned on him).

5-8 Jesus sent his twelve harvest hands out with this charge:
"Don't begin by traveling to some far-off place to convert unbelievers. And don't try to be dramatic by tackling some public enemy. Go to the lost, confused people right here in the neighborhood. Tell them that the kingdom is here. Bring health to the sick. Raise the dead. Touch the untouchables. Kick out the demons. You have been treated generously, so live generously.

9-10 "Don't think you have to put on a fund-raising campaign before you start. You don't need a lot of equipment. You are the equipment, and all you need to keep that going is three meals a day. Travel light.

11 "When you enter a town or village, don't insist on staying in a luxury inn. Get a modest place with some modest people, and be content there until you leave.

12-15 "When you knock on a door, be courteous in your greeting. If they welcome you, be gentle in your conversation. If they don't welcome you, quietly withdraw. Don't make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way. You can be sure that on Judgment Day they'll be mighty sorry—but it's no concern of yours now.

16 "Stay alert. This is hazardous work I'm assigning you. You're going to be like sheep running through a wolf pack, so don't call attention to yourselves. Be as cunning as a snake, inoffensive as a dove.

17-20 "Don't be naive. Some people will impugn your motives, others will smear your reputation—just because you believe in me. Don't be upset when they haul you before the civil authorities. Without knowing it, they've done you—and me—a favor, given you a platform for preaching the kingdom news! And don't worry about what you'll say or how you'll say it. The right words will be there; the Spirit of your Father will supply the words.

21-23 "When people realize it is the living God you are presenting and not some idol that makes them feel good, they are going to turn on you, even people in your own family. There is a great irony here: proclaiming so much love, experiencing so much hate! But don't quit. Don't cave in. It is all well worth it in the end. It is not success you are after in such times but survival. Be survivors! Before you've run out of options, the Son of Man will have arrived.

24-25 "A student doesn't get a better desk than her teacher. A laborer doesn't make more money than his boss. Be content—pleased, even—when you, my students, my harvest hands, get the same treatment I get. If they call me, the Master, 'Dungface,' what can the workers expect?

26-27 "Don't be intimidated. Eventually everything is going to be out in the open, and everyone will know how things really are. So don't hesitate to go public now.

28 "Don't be bluffed into silence by the threats of bullies. There's nothing they can do to your soul, your core being. Save your fear for God, who holds your entire life—body and soul—in his hands.

Forget About Yourself

29-31 "What's the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head! So don't be intimidated by all this bully talk. You're worth more than a million canaries.

32-33 "Stand up for me against world opinion and I'll stand up for you before my Father in heaven. If you turn tail and run, do you think I'll cover for you?

34-37 "Don't think I've come to make life cozy. I've come to cut—make a sharp knife-cut between son and father, daughter and mother, bride and mother-in-law—cut through these cozy domestic arrangements and free you for God. Well-meaning family members can be your worst enemies. If you prefer father or mother over me, you don't deserve me. If you prefer son or daughter over me, you don't deserve me.

38-39 "If you don't go all the way with me, through thick and thin, you don't deserve me. If your first concern is to look after yourself, you'll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you'll find both yourself and me.

40-42 "We are intimately linked in this harvest work. Anyone who accepts what you do, accepts me, the One who sent you. Anyone who accepts what I do accepts my Father, who sent me. Accepting a messenger of God is as good as being God's messenger. Accepting someone's help is as good as giving someone help. This is a large work I've called you into, but don't be overwhelmed by it. It's best to start small. Give a cool cup of water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won't lose out on a thing."
