一○

1 　イエスは、十二人の弟子たちをそばに呼び寄せられ、彼らに、汚れた霊を追い出し、あらゆる病気、病弱を治す権威をお与えになりました。
2-4 その十二人の名前は次のとおりです。
シモン〔別名ペテロ〕、
アンデレ〔ペテロの兄弟〕、
ヤコブ〔ゼベダイの息子〕、
ヨハネ〔ヤコブの兄弟〕、
ピリポ、
バルトロマイ、
トマス、
マタイ〔取税人〕、
ヤコブ〔アルパヨの息子〕、
タダイ、
シモン〔「熱心党」という急進派グループのメンバー〕、
イスカリオテのユダ〔後にイエスを裏切った男〕。
伝道の心がまえ
5 　イエスは、次のような指示をお与えになり、弟子たちを派遣なさいました。　「外国人やサマリヤ人のところに行ってはいけません。　6 イスラエル人のところにだけ行きなさい。　この人たちは神のおりから迷い出た羊です。　7 彼らのところに行って、『天国は近づいた』と伝えなさい。　8 病人を治し、死人を生き返らせ、らい病人を治し、悪霊を追い出しなさい。　ただで受けたのだから、ただで与えなさい。
9 　お金は、たといわずかでも、持って行ってはいけません。　10 旅行袋に、着替えの服や、くつ、それに杖も。　そういうものは、あなたがたが助けてあげる人たちから、世話してもらいなさい。　それが当然のことです。　11 どんな町や村に入っても、神を敬う人を見つけ、次の町へ行くまで、その家に泊まりなさい。　12 泊めてもらう時は、心から頼み、その家の祝福を祈りなさい。　13 もし、神を敬う家庭なら、その家は必ず祝福されるし、そうでなければ、祝福されないでしょう。　　14 あなたがたを受け入れない町や家があったら、そこを立ち去る時、足からその場所のちりを払い落としなさい。　15 よく言っておきますが、さばきの日には、あの邪悪なソドムとゴモラの町のほうが、その町よりまだ罰が軽いのです。
16 　いいですか。　あなたがたを派遣するのは、いわば、羊を狼の群れの中へ送るようなものです。　ですから、用心深さの点では蛇のように、純真さの点では鳩のようになりなさい。　17 気をつけなさい。　あなたがたは捕らえられて、裁判にかけられ、会堂でむち打たれるからです。　　18 わたしのために、総督や王たちの前で取り調べられることもあります。　その時こそ、わたしのことを彼らに知らせ、さらに世間の人々に証言するチャンスです。
19 　逮捕されたら、取り調べの際、どう釈明しようかなどと心配してはいけません。　その時その時に適切なことばが語れるからです。　20 釈明するのは、あなたがたではありません。　あなたがたの天の父の御霊が、あなたがたの口を通して語ってくださるのです。
21 　兄弟が兄弟を裏切って殺し、親も子を裏切るようになります。　そして子は親に反抗し、親を殺します。　22 わたしの弟子だというので、あなたがたはすべての人に憎まれます。　けれども、最後までじっと耐え忍ぶ者はみな救われるのです。
23 　一つの町で迫害されたら、次の町に逃げなさい。　あなたがたがイスラエルの町を全部めぐり終えないうちに、わたしは戻って来るからです。　24 生徒は先生より偉くはなく、使用人は主人より上ではありません。　25 生徒は先生と運命を共にし、使用人は主人と運命を共にします。　主人のわたしが、ベルゼブル（サタン）と呼ばれるくらいなのだから、ましてあなたがたは、どんなひどいことを言われるか......。　　26 しかし、脅迫する者たちを恐れてはいけません。　やがてほんとうのことが明らかになり、彼らがひそかに巡らした陰謀は、すべての人に知れ渡るからです。
27 　わたしが今、暗やみで語ることを、夜明けになったら、大声でふれ回りなさい。　わたしがあなたがたの耳にささやいたことを、屋上から言い広めなさい。
28 　体だけは殺せても、たましいには指一本ふれることもできないような人々を、恐れてはいけません。　たましいも体も地獄に落とすことのできる神だけを恐れなさい。　29 たった一羽の雀〔二羽で五十円にしかならない雀〕でさえ、あなたがたの天の父が知らないうちに、地に落ちることはありません。　30 あなたがたの髪の毛さえ一本残らず数えられています。　31 ですから、心配しなくてもいいのです。　あなたがたは、神にとって、雀などより、ずっと大切なものではありませんか。
32 　もしあなたがたが、だれの前でも、『私はイエスの友達だ』と認めるなら、わたしも、天の父の前で、あなたがたをわたしの友だとはっきり認めましょう。　33 しかし、もし人々の前で、『イエスなんか知るもんか』と言うなら、わたしもまた、天の父の前で、あなたがたを知らないと、はっきり言いましょう。
34 　わたしが来たのは、地上を平和にするためだ、などと誤解してはいけません。　平和ではなく、むしろ争いを引き起こすために来たのです。　35 そうです。　息子を父親に、娘を母親に、嫁をしゅうとめに逆らわせるためです。　36 家族の者さえ最悪の敵となる場合があるのです。　37 わたし以上に父や母を愛する者は、わたしを信じる者にふさわしくありません。　また、わたしよりも息子や娘を愛する者は、わたしを信じる者にふさわしくありません。　38 さらに、自分の十字架を背負ってわたしに従って来ない者は、わたしを信じる者にふさわしくありません。
39 　自分のいのちを一生懸命守ろうとする者は、それを失いますが、わたしのためにいのちを投げ出す者は、ほんとうの意味でそれを自分のものとします。
40 　あなたがたを受け入れる人は、わたしを受け入れるのです。　わたしを受け入れる人は、わたしをお遣わしになった神を受け入れていることになります。　41 もし預言者を、神から遣わされた預言者だというので受け入れるなら、預言者と同じごほうびを受けるでしょう。　また、神を敬う正しい人たちを、彼らが神を敬うというので受け入れるなら、彼らと同じごほうびを受けます。
42 　また、この小さい者のひとりに、わたしに代わって冷たい水一杯でも与えるなら、よく言っておきますが、その人は必ずごほうびを受けるのです。」

Matthew 10

1 And he called unto him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease and all manner of sickness.

2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;4 Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and charged them, saying, Go not into any way of the Gentiles, and enter not into any city of the Samaritans:6 but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give.9 Get you no gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses;10 no wallet for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.11 And into whatsoever city or village ye shall enter, search out who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go forth.12 And as ye enter into the house, salute it.13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust of your feet.15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in theirs synagogues they will scourge you;18 yea and before governors and kings shall ye be brought for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.19 But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what ye shall speak.20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.21 And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child: and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone through the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

24 A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household!26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak ye in the light; and what ye hear in the ear, proclaim upon the house-tops.28 And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father:30 but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.31 Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.32 Every one therefore who shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

34 Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.35 For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law:36 and a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.38 And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.39 He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward: and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you he shall in no wise lose his reward.
