متی 10

1 پھر عیسیٰ نے اپنے بارہ رسولوں کو بُلا کر اُنہیں ناپاک روحیں نکالنے اور ہر قسم کے مرض اور علالت سے شفا دینے کا اختیار دیا۔2 بارہ رسولوں کے نام یہ ہیں: پہلا شمعون جو پطرس بھی کہلاتا ہے، پھر اُس کا بھائی اندریاس، یعقوب بن زبدی اور اُس کا بھائی یوحنا،3 فلپّس، برتلمائی، توما، متی (جو ٹیکس لینے والا تھا)، یعقوب بن حلفئی، تدّی،4 شمعون مجاہد اور یہوداہ اسکریوتی جس نے بعد میں اُسے دشمنوں کے حوالے کر دیا۔5 اِن بارہ مردوں کو عیسیٰ نے بھیج دیا۔ ساتھ ساتھ اُس نے اُنہیں ہدایت دی، ”غیریہودی آبادیوں میں نہ جانا، نہ کسی سامری شہر میں،6 بلکہ صرف اسرائیل کی کھوئی ہوئی بھیڑوں کے پاس۔7 اور چلتے چلتے منادی کرتے جاؤ کہ ’آسمان کی بادشاہی قریب آ چکی ہے۔‘8 بیماروں کو شفا دو، مُردوں کو زندہ کرو، کوڑھیوں کو پاک صاف کرو، بدروحوں کو نکالو۔ تم کو مفت میں ملا ہے، مفت میں ہی بانٹنا۔9 اپنے کمربند میں پیسے نہ رکھنا — نہ سونے، نہ چاندی اور نہ تانبے کے سکے۔10 نہ سفر کے لئے بیگ ہو، نہ ایک سے زیادہ سوٹ، نہ جوتے، نہ لاٹھی۔ کیونکہ مزدور اپنی روزی کا حق دار ہے۔11 جس شہر یا گاؤں میں داخل ہوتے ہو اُس میں کسی لائق شخص کا پتا کرو اور روانہ ہوتے وقت تک اُسی کے گھر میں ٹھہرو۔12 گھر میں داخل ہوتے وقت اُسے دعائے خیر دو۔13 اگر وہ گھر اِس لائق ہو گا تو جو سلامتی تم نے اُس کے لئے مانگی ہے وہ اُس پر آ کر ٹھہری رہے گی۔ اگر نہیں تو یہ سلامتی تمہارے پاس لوٹ آئے گی۔14 اگر کوئی گھرانا یا شہر تم کو قبول نہ کرے، نہ تمہاری سنے تو روانہ ہوتے وقت اُس جگہ کی گرد اپنے پاؤں سے جھاڑ دینا۔15 مَیں تمہیں سچ بتاتا ہوں، عدالت کے دن اُس شہر کی نسبت سدوم اور عمورہ کے علاقے کا حال زیادہ قابلِ برداشت ہو گا۔16 دیکھو، مَیں تم بھیڑوں کو بھیڑیوں میں بھیج رہا ہوں۔ اِس لئے سانپوں کی طرح ہوشیار اور کبوتروں کی طرح معصوم بنو۔17 لوگوں سے خبردار رہو، کیونکہ وہ تم کو مقامی عدالتوں کے حوالے کر کے اپنے عبادت خانوں میں کوڑے لگوائیں گے۔18 میری خاطر تمہیں حکمرانوں اور بادشاہوں کے سامنے پیش کیا جائے گا اور یوں تم کو اُنہیں اور غیریہودیوں کو گواہی دینے کا موقع ملے گا۔19 جب وہ تمہیں گرفتار کریں گے تو یہ سوچتے سوچتے پریشان نہ ہو جانا کہ مَیں کیا کہوں یا کس طرح بات کروں۔ اُس وقت تم کو بتایا جائے گا کہ کیا کہنا ہے،20 کیونکہ تم خود بات نہیں کرو گے بلکہ تمہارے باپ کا روح تمہاری معرفت بولے گا۔21 بھائی اپنے بھائی کو اور باپ اپنے بچے کو موت کے حوالے کرے گا۔ بچے اپنے والدین کے خلاف کھڑے ہو کر اُنہیں قتل کروائیں گے۔22 سب تم سے نفرت کریں گے، اِس لئے کہ تم میرے پیروکار ہو۔ لیکن جو آخر تک قائم رہے گا اُسے نجات ملے گی۔23 جب وہ ایک شہر میں تمہیں ستائیں گے تو کسی دوسرے شہر کو ہجرت کر جانا۔ مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ ابنِ آدم کی آمد تک تم اسرائیل کے تمام شہروں تک نہیں پہنچ پاؤ گے۔24 شاگرد اپنے اُستاد سے بڑا نہیں ہوتا، نہ غلام اپنے مالک سے۔25 شاگرد کو اِس پر اکتفا کرنا ہے کہ وہ اپنے اُستاد کی مانند ہو، اور اِسی طرح غلام کو کہ وہ اپنے مالک کی مانند ہو۔ گھرانے کے سرپرست کو اگر بدروحوں کا سردار بعل زبول قرار دیا گیا ہے تو اُس کے گھر والوں کو کیا کچھ نہ کہا جائے گا۔26 اُن سے مت ڈرنا، کیونکہ جو کچھ ابھی چھپا ہوا ہے اُسے آخر میں ظاہر کیا جائے گا، اور جو کچھ بھی اِس وقت پوشیدہ ہے اُس کا راز آخر میں کھل جائے گا۔27 جو کچھ مَیں تمہیں اندھیرے میں سنا رہا ہوں اُسے روزِ روشن میں سنا دینا۔ اور جو کچھ آہستہ آہستہ تمہارے کان میں بتایا گیا ہے اُس کا چھتوں سے اعلان کرو۔28 اُن سے خوف مت کھانا جو تمہاری روح کو نہیں بلکہ صرف تمہارے جسم کو قتل کر سکتے ہیں۔ اللہ سے ڈرو جو روح اور جسم دونوں کو جہنم میں ڈال کر ہلاک کر سکتا ہے۔29 کیا چڑیوں کا جوڑا کم پیسوں میں نہیں بِکتا؟ تاہم اُن میں سے ایک بھی تمہارے باپ کی اجازت کے بغیر زمین پر نہیں گر سکتی۔30 نہ صرف یہ بلکہ تمہارے سر کے سب بال بھی گنے ہوئے ہیں۔31 لہٰذا مت ڈرو۔ تمہاری قدر و قیمت بہت سی چڑیوں سے کہیں زیادہ ہے۔32 جو بھی لوگوں کے سامنے میرا اقرار کرے اُس کا اقرار مَیں خود بھی اپنے آسمانی باپ کے سامنے کروں گا۔33 لیکن جو بھی لوگوں کے سامنے میرا انکار کرے اُس کا مَیں بھی اپنے آسمانی باپ کے سامنے انکار کروں گا۔34 یہ مت سمجھو کہ مَیں دنیا میں صلح سلامتی قائم کرنے آیا ہوں۔ مَیں صلح سلامتی نہیں بلکہ تلوار چلوانے آیا ہوں۔35 مَیں بیٹے کو اُس کے باپ کے خلاف کھڑا کرنے آیا ہوں، بیٹی کو اُس کی ماں کے خلاف اور بہو کو اُس کی ساس کے خلاف۔36 انسان کے دشمن اُس کے اپنے گھر والے ہوں گے۔37 جو اپنے باپ یا ماں کو مجھ سے زیادہ پیار کرے وہ میرے لائق نہیں۔ جو اپنے بیٹے یا بیٹی کو مجھ سے زیادہ پیار کرے وہ میرے لائق نہیں۔38 جو اپنی صلیب اُٹھا کر میرے پیچھے نہ ہو لے وہ میرے لائق نہیں۔39 جو بھی اپنی جان کو بچائے وہ اُسے کھو دے گا، لیکن جو اپنی جان کو میری خاطر کھو دے وہ اُسے پائے گا۔40 جو تمہیں قبول کرے وہ مجھے قبول کرتا ہے، اور جو مجھے قبول کرتا ہے وہ اُس کو قبول کرتا ہے جس نے مجھے بھیجا ہے۔41 جو کسی نبی کو قبول کرے اُسے نبی کا سا اجر ملے گا۔ اور جو کسی راست باز شخص کو اُس کی راست بازی کے سبب سے قبول کرے اُسے راست باز شخص کا سا اجر ملے گا۔42 مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ جو اِن چھوٹوں میں سے کسی ایک کو میرا شاگرد ہونے کے باعث ٹھنڈے پانی کا گلاس بھی پلائے اُس کا اجر قائم رہے گا۔“

Matthew 10

1 And he called unto him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease and all manner of sickness.

2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;4 Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and charged them, saying, Go not into any way of the Gentiles, and enter not into any city of the Samaritans:6 but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give.9 Get you no gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses;10 no wallet for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.11 And into whatsoever city or village ye shall enter, search out who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go forth.12 And as ye enter into the house, salute it.13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust of your feet.15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in theirs synagogues they will scourge you;18 yea and before governors and kings shall ye be brought for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.19 But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what ye shall speak.20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.21 And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child: and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone through the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

24 A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household!26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak ye in the light; and what ye hear in the ear, proclaim upon the house-tops.28 And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father:30 but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.31 Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.32 Every one therefore who shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

34 Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.35 For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law:36 and a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.38 And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.39 He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward: and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you he shall in no wise lose his reward.
