VII. SIETE PARÁBOLAS DE JESÚS (13.1-52)
Parábola del sembrador
(Mc 4.1-9; Lc 8.4-8)
1 Aquel mismo día salió Jesús de casa y fue a sentarse a la orilla del lago. 2 Como se reunió mucha gente, subió Jesús en una barca y se sentó,t mientras la gente se quedaba en la orilla. 3 Y se puso a hablarles de muchas cosas por medio de parábolas.t Les dijo: “Un sembrador salió a sembrar. 4 Y al sembrar, una parte de la semilla cayó en el camino, y llegaron las aves y se la comieron. 5 Otra parte cayó entre las piedras, donde no había mucha tierra; aquella semilla brotó pronto, porque la tierra no era profunda; 6 pero el sol, al salir, la quemó, y como no tenía raíz, se secó.t 7 Otra parte cayó entre espinos, y los espinos crecieron y la ahogaron. 8 Pero otra parte cayó en buena tierra y dio una buena cosecha: unas espigas dieron cien granos por semilla, otras dieron sesenta y otras treinta.
9 Los que tienen oídos, oigan.”El porqué de las parábolas
(Mc 4.10-12; Lc 8.9-10)
10 Los discípulos se acercaron a Jesús, y le preguntaron por qué hablaba a la gente por medio de parábolas. 11 Jesús les contestó: “A vosotros, Dios os da a conocer los secretost de su reino; pero a ellos no. 12 Pues al que tiene, se le dará más y tendrá de sobra; pero al que no tiene, hasta lo que tiene se le quitará.t 13 Por eso les hablo por medio de parábolas; porque ellos miran, pero no ven; escuchan, pero no oyen ni entienden.
14 En ellos se cumple lo que dijo el profeta Isaías:
‘Por mucho que escuchéis, no entenderéis;
por mucho que miréis, no veréis.
15 Pues la mente de este pueblo está embotada:
son duros de oído
y han cerrado sus ojos,
para no ver ni oir,
para no entender ni volverse a mí
y que yo los sane.’t
16 “Pero dichosos vosotros, porque tenéis ojos que ven y oídos que oyen.
17 Os aseguro que muchos profetas y gente buena desearon ver lo que vosotros veis, y no lo vieron; desearon oir lo que vosotros oís, y no lo oyeron.tJesús explica la parábola del sembrador
(Mc 4.13-20; Lc 8.11-15)
18 “Oíd, pues, lo que significa la parábola del sembrador: 19 Los que oyen el mensaje del reinot y no lo entienden, son como la semilla que cayó en el camino; viene el malignot y les quita el mensaje sembrado en su corazón. 20 La semilla que cayó entre las piedras representa a los que oyen el mensaje y al pronto lo reciben con gusto, 21 pero, como no tienen raíces, no pueden permanecer firmes: cuando por causa del mensaje sufren pruebas o persecución, fracasan en su fe. 22 La semilla sembrada entre espinos representa a los que oyen el mensaje, pero los negocios de este mundo les preocupan demasiado y el amor a las riquezas los engaña: todo eso ahoga el mensaje y no le deja dar fruto en ellos.
23 Pero la semilla sembrada en buena tierra representa a los que oyen el mensaje y lo entienden, y dan una buena cosecha: son como las espigas que dieron cien, sesenta o treinta granos por semilla.”Parábola del trigo y la cizaña
24 Jesús les contó esta otra parábola: “El reino de los cielos puede compararse a un hombre que sembró buena semilla en su campo; 25 pero mientras todos estaban durmiendo, llegó un enemigo que sembró mala hierbat entre el trigo, y se fue. 26 Cuando creció el trigo y se formó la espiga, apareció también la mala hierba. 27 Entonces los labradores fueron a decirle al dueño: ‘Señor, si la semilla que sembraste en el campo era buena, ¿cómo es que ha salido mala hierba?’ 28 El dueño les dijo: ‘Un enemigo ha hecho esto.’ Los labradores le preguntaron: ‘¿Quieres que vayamos a arrancar la mala hierba?’ 29 Pero él les dijo: ‘No, porque al arrancar la mala hierba podéis arrancar también el trigo.
30 Es mejor dejarlos crecer juntos, hasta la siega; entonces mandaré a los segadores a recoger primero la mala hierba y atarla en manojos, para quemarla, y que luego guarden el trigo en mi granero.’ ”Parábola de la semilla de mostaza
(Mc 4.30-32; Lc 13.18-19)
31 Jesús les contó también esta parábola: “El reino de los cielos se puede comparar a una semilla de mostazat que un hombre siembra en su campo.
32 Es sin duda la más pequeña de todas las semillas, pero cuando ha crecido es más grande que las otras plantas del huerto; llega a hacerse como un árbol entre cuyas ramas van a anidar los pájaros.”tParábola de la levadura
(Lc 13.20-21)
33 También les contó esta parábola: “El reino de los cielos se puede comparar a la levadura que una mujer mezcla con tres medidas de harina para que toda la masa fermente.”tCumplimiento de la Escritura
(Mc 4.33-34)
34 Jesús habló de todo esto a la gente por medio de parábolas, y sin parábolas no les hablaba,
35 para que se cumpliera lo que había dicho el profeta:
“Hablaré por medio de parábolas;
diré cosas que han estado en secreto
desde la creación del mundo.”tJesús explica la parábola de la mala hierba entre el trigo
36 Jesús despidió a la gente y entró en la casa. Sus discípulos se acercaron a él y le pidieron que les explicase la parábola de la mala hierba en el campo. 37 Él les repondió: “El que siembra la buena semilla es el Hijo del hombre, 38 y el campo es el mundo. La buena semilla representa a los que son del reino; la mala hierba, a los que son del maligno;t 39 y el enemigo que sembró la mala hierba es el diablo. La siega representa el fin del mundo,t y los segadores son los ángeles. 40 Así como se recoge la mala hierba y se la quema en una hoguera, así sucederá al fin del mundo. 41 El Hijo del hombre mandará sus ángeles a recoger de su reino a todos los que hacen pecar a otros y a los que practican el mal. 42 Los arrojarán al horno encendido,t donde llorarán y les rechinarán los dientes.t
43 Entonces, aquellos que cumplen lo ordenado por Dios brillarán como el solt en el reino de su Padre. Los que tienen oídos, oigan.Parábola del tesoro escondido
44 “El reino de los cielos se puede comparar a un tesoro escondido en un campo. Un hombre encuentra el tesoro, y vuelve a esconderlo allí mismo; lleno de alegría, va, vende todo lo que posee y compra aquel campo.Parábola de la perla de gran valor
45 “También se puede comparar el reino de los cielos a un comerciante que anda buscando perlas finas;
46 cuando encuentra una de gran valor, va, vende todo lo que posee y compra la perla.Parábola de la red
47 “Puede compararse también el reino de los cielos a una redt echada al mar, que recoge toda clase de peces. 48 Cuando la red está llena, los pescadores la arrastran a la orilla y se sientan a escoger los peces: ponen los buenos en canastas y tiran los malos. 49 Así sucederá al fin del mundo: saldrán los ángeles a separar a los malos de los buenos,
50 y arrojarán a los malos al horno encendido, donde llorarán y les rechinarán los dientes.”tCosas nuevas y cosas viejas
51 Jesús preguntó:
–¿Entendéis todo esto?
–Sí, Señor –contestaron ellos.
52 Entonces Jesús añadió:
–Cuando un maestro de la ley está instruido acerca del reino de los cielos, se parece a un padre de familia que de lo que tiene guardado saca cosas nuevas y cosas viejas.tVIII. ACTIVIDAD PÚBLICA DE JESÚS (13.53–17.27)
Jesús en Nazaret
(Mc 6.1-6; Lc 4.16-30)
53 Cuando Jesús terminó de contar estas parábolast se fue de allí
54 y llegó a su propia tierra,t donde comenzó a enseñar en la sinagoga del lugar. La gente, admirada, decía:
–¿De dónde ha sacado este todo lo que sabe? ¿Cómo puede hacer tales milagros? 55 ¿No es este el hijo del carpintero?t Y su madre, ¿no es María? ¿No son sus hermanost Santiago, José, Simón y Judas,
56 y no viven sus hermanas también aquí, entre nosotros? ¿De dónde ha sacado todo esto?
57 Y no quisieron hacerle caso. Por eso, Jesús les dijo:
–En todas partes se honra a un profeta, menos en su propia tierra y en su propia casa.t
58 Y no hizo allí muchos milagros, porque aquella gente no creía en él.
Matthew 13
The Parable of the Sower
1 On that day after Jesus went out of the house, he sat by the lake.2 And such a large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat to sit whilet the whole crowd stood on the shore.3 Het told them many things in parables,s saying: “Listen!t A sower went out to sow.s4 And as he sowed, some seedst fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them.5 Othert seeds fell on rocky grounds where they did not have much soil. They sprang up quickly because the soil was not deep.t6 But when the sun came up, they were scorched, and because they did not have sufficient root, they withered.7 Other seeds fell among the thorns,s and they grew up and choked them.s8 But other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.
9 The one who has ears had better listen!”t
10 Thent the disciples came to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”11 He replied,t “You have been givent the opportunity to knowt the secretsts of the kingdom of heaven, but they have not.12 For whoever has will be given more, and will have an abundance. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.s13 For this reason I speak to them in parables: Although they see they do not see, and although they hear they do not hear nor do they understand.
14 And concerning them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:
‘You will listen carefullytyet will never understand,
you will look closelytyet will never comprehend.
15 For the heart of this people has become dull;
they are hard of hearing,
and they have shut their eyes,
so that they would not see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’s
16 “But your eyes are blesseds because they see, and your ears because they hear.
17 For I tell you the truth,t many prophets and righteous people longed to sees what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
18 “So listen to the parable of the sower:19 When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil ones comes and snatches what was sown in his heart;s this is the seed sown along the path.20 Thet seed sown on rocky groundt is the person who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy.21 But he has no root in himself and does not endure;t whent trouble or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he falls away.22 Thet seed sown among thorns is the person who hears the word, but worldly cares and the seductiveness of wealtht choke the word,s so it produces nothing.
23 But as for the seed sown on good soil, this is the person who hears the word and understands. He bears fruit, yielding a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.”t
The Parable of the Weeds
24 He presented them with another parable:t “The kingdom of heaven is like a person who sowed good seed in his field.25 But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and sowed weedst among the wheat and went away.26 Whent the plants sprouted and bore grain, then the weeds also appeared.27 So the slavest of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Then where did the weeds come from?’28 He said, ‘An enemy has done this.’ Sot the slaves replied, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them?’29 But he said, ‘No, since in gathering the weeds you may uproot the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest. Att harvest time I will tell the reapers, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned, but thent gathert the wheat into my barn.”’”
The Parable of the Mustard Seed
31 He gavet them another parable:t “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seeds that a man took and sowed in his field.
32 It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest garden plant and becomes a tree,s so that the wild birdst come and nest in its branches.”s
The Parable of the Yeast
33 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed witht three measuress of flour until all the dough had risen.”ts
The Purpose of Parables
34 Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the crowds; he did not speak to them without a parable.
35 This fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet:st
“I will open my mouth in parables,
I will announce what has been hidden from the foundation of the world.”s
Explanation for the Disciples
36 Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”37 Het answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.38 The field is the world and the good seed are the peoplet of the kingdom. The weeds are the peoplet of the evil one,39 and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.40 Ast the weeds are collected and burned with fire, so it will be at the end of the age.41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everything that causes sin as well as all lawbreakers.t42 They will throw them into the fiery furnace,s where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.s The one who has ears had better listen!t
Parables on the Kingdom of Heaven
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure, hidden in a field, that a person found and hid. Then because of joy he went and sold all that he had and bought that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls.
46 When he found a pearl of great value, he went out and sold everything he had and bought it.
47 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea that caught all kinds of fish.48 When it was full, they pulled it ashore, sat down, and put the good fish into containers and threw the bad away.49 It will be this way at the end of the age. Angels will come and separate the evil from the righteous
50 and throw them into the fiery furnace,s where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
51 “Have you understood all these things?” They replied, “Yes.”
52 Then he said to them, “Therefore every expert in the lawt who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his treasure what is new and old.”
Rejection at Nazareth
53 Now whent Jesus finished these parables, he moved on from there.54 Thent he came to his hometowns and began to teach the peoplet in their synagogue.s Theyt were astonished and said, “Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?55 Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary?s And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?56 And aren’t all his sisters here with us? Where did he get all this?”t57 And so they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house.”
58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.
