Matei 13

Pilda semănătorului

1 În aceeași zi, Isus a ieșit din casă și S-a așezat lângă mare.2 Mari mulțimi de oameni s-au adunat în jurul Lui, astfel că El S-a suit într-o barcă și S-a așezat acolo ; întreaga mulțime stătea pe țărm.

3 El le-a vorbit despre multe lucruri în pildet și le-a zis:
„Iată, semănătorul a ieșit să semene!4 În timp ce semăna el, o parte din sămânță a căzut lângă drum și au venit păsările și au mâncat-o.5 O altă parte a căzut în locuri stâncoase, unde nu avea pământ mult. A răsărit repede, pentru că nu avea pământ adânc,6 dar când a răsărit soarele, s-a ofilit și, fiindcă nu avea rădăcină, s-a uscat.7 O altă parte a căzut între spini, iar spinii au crescut și au sufocat-o.8 Alta însă a căzut pe un pământ bun și a dat rod: un grăunte a rodit o sută, altul – șaizeci, altul – treizeci.9 Cine are urechi, să audă!“

10 Ucenicii au venit la El și L-au întrebat:
– De ce le vorbești în pilde?

11 Isus le-a răspuns:
– Pentru că vouă v-a fost dat să cunoașteți tainelet Împărăției Cerurilor, dar lor nu le-a fost dat.12 Căci celui ce are i se va da și va avea din abundență, dar de la cel ce nu are se va lua chiar și ce are.13 De aceea le vorbesc în pilde, pentru că ei, măcar că văd, nu văd, și măcar că aud, nu aud, nici nu înțeleg.

14 Și cu privire la ei se împlinește profeția lui Isaia, care zice:
„Veți asculta întruna, dar nu veți înțelege
și veți privi mereu, dar nu veți pricepe.

15 Căci inima celor din acest popor s-a împietrit.
Urechile lor aud greu și ochii li s-au închis,
ca nu cumva să vadă cu ochii, să audă cu urechile,
să înțeleagă cu inima, să se întoarcă la Mine și să-i vindec“t.

16 Dar ferice de ochii voștri că văd și de urechile voastre că aud!17 Adevărat vă spun că mulți profeți și oameni drepți au dorit să vadă ceea ce vedeți voi, dar n-au văzut, și să audă ceea ce auziți voi, dar n-au auzit!

18 Ascultați deci ce înseamnă pilda semănătorului.19 Când cineva aude Cuvântul Împărăției și nu-l înțelege, vine cel rău și răpește ce a fost semănat în inima lui. Aceasta este sămânța care a fost semănată lângă drum.20  Sămânța care a fost semănată în locuri stâncoase este cel care aude Cuvântul și-l primește imediat cu bucurie,21 dar nu are rădăcină în el, ci durează doar pentru o vreme. Și când vine necazul sau persecuția din pricina Cuvântului, el se poticnește imediat.22  Sămânța care a fost semănată între spini este cel care aude Cuvântul, dar îngrijorările vieții și înșelăciunea bogăției sufocă Cuvântul și acesta devine neroditor.23  Sămânța care a fost semănată în pământ bun este cel care aude Cuvântul și-l înțelege; el aduce într-adevăr rod : un grăunte dă o sută, altul – șaizeci, altul – treizeci.

Pilda neghinei

24 Isus le-a pus înainte o altă pildă și le-a zis:
„Împărăția Cerurilor poate fi asemănată cu un om care a semănat o sămânță bună în ogorul lui.25 Dar, în timp ce oamenii dormeau, a venit dușmanul lui, a semănat neghină printre grâu și apoi a plecat.26 Când plantele au răsărit și au făcut rod, a apărut și neghina.

27 Sclavii stăpânului casei au venit și i-au zis:
– Stăpâne, oare n-ai semănat tu sămânță bună în ogorul tău? De unde are atunci neghină?

28 El le-a răspuns:
– Un dușman a făcut lucrul acesta.
Sclavii l-au întrebat:
– Vrei să mergem s-o strângem?

29 Dar el le-a răspuns:
– Nu, ca nu cumva, atunci când strângeți neghina, să dezrădăcinați și grâul împreună cu ea.30 Lăsați-le pe amândouă să crească împreună până la seceriș, iar la vremea secerișului le voi spune secerătorilor: «Strângeți mai întâi neghina și legați-o în snopi pentru a fi arsă, iar grâul adunați-l în hambarul meu!»“

Pilda bobului de muștar și a drojdiei

31 Isus le-a pus înainte o altă pildă și le-a zis:
„Împărăția Cerurilor este ca un bob de muștar, pe care l-a luat un om și l-a semănat în ogorul său:32 el este într-adevăr cel mai mic dintre toate semințelet, dar, după ce a crescut, este mai mare decât zarzavaturile și devine un copact, așa că păsările cerului vin și își fac cuibul între ramurile lui“.

33 Le-a mai pus înainte o altă pildă și le-a zis:
„Împărăția Cerurilor este ca drojdia pe care o ia o femeie și o pune în trei măsurit de făină și care, până la urmă, face să dospească tot aluatul.“

34 Isus le-a spus mulțimilor toate aceste lucruri în pilde. Nu le vorbea deloc fără să folosească pilde,

35 ca să se împlinească astfel ce a fost spus prin profetul care zice:
„Îmi voi deschide gura cu pilde,
voi rosti lucruri ascunse de la întemeierea lumii“t.

Pilda neghinei explicată

36 Apoi Isus le-a dat drumul mulțimilor și a intrat în casă. Ucenicii Lui au venit la El și I-au zis:
– Explică-ne pilda cu neghina din ogor!

37 Isus le-a răspuns:
– Cel Ce seamănă sămânța bună este Fiul Omului.38 Ogorul este lumea. Sămânța bună îi reprezintă pe fiii Împărăției, iar neghina îi reprezintă pe fiii celui rău.39 Dușmanul care a semănat-o este diavolul. Secerișul este sfârșitul veacului, iar secerătorii sunt îngerii.40 Deci, așa cum este strânsă neghina și arsă în foc, tot așa va fi și la sfârșitul veacului:41 Fiul Omului Își va trimite îngerii, care vor strânge din Împărăția Lui toate pricinile de păcătuire și pe cei ce săvârșesc fărădelegea42 și îi vor arunca în cuptorul de foc. Acolo va fi plânsul și scrâșnirea dinților!43 Atunci cei drepți vor străluci ca soarele în Împărăția Tatălui lor.t Cine are urechi, să audă!

Pilda comorii ascunse și a mărgăritarului

44 Împărăția Cerurilor este ca o comoară ascunsă într-un ogor. Omul care o găsește, o ascunde și, de bucurie, se duce și vinde tot ce are și apoi cumpără ogorul acela.

45 De asemenea, Împărăția Cerurilor este ca un negustor care caută mărgăritare frumoase.46 Când găsește un mărgăritar foarte prețios, se duce și vinde tot ce are, iar apoi îl cumpără.

Pilda năvodului

47 Sau Împărăția Cerurilor este ca un năvod care a fost aruncat în mare și în care au fost prinși tot felul de pești.48 Când este plin, pescarii îl scot pe țărm, se așază și adună peștii buni în vase, iar pe cei răi îi aruncă afară.

49 Tot așa va fi și la sfârșitul veacului: îngerii vor ieși, îi vor separa pe cei răi din mijlocul celor drepți50 și-i vor arunca în cuptorul de foc. Acolo va fi plânsul și scrâșnirea dinților!

51 Ați înțeles voi toate aceste lucruri?
– Da, i-au răspuns ei.

52 El le-a zis:
– De aceea, orice cărturar care a fost instruit cu privire la Împărăția Cerurilor este ca stăpânul unei case, care scoate din vistieria lui lucruri noi și lucruri vechi.

Necredința celor din Nazaret

53 După ce a terminat de spus aceste pilde, Isus a plecat de acolo54 și a venit în patria Lui. El a început să le dea învățătură oamenilor în sinagoga lor, în așa fel încât aceștia erau uimiți și se întrebau: „De unde are Acest Om înțelepciunea aceasta și puterea de a face minuni?55 Oare nu este Acesta fiul tâmplarului? Nu este Maria mama Lui, iar Iacov, Iosif, Simon și Iuda nu sunt oare frații Lui?56 Și surorile Lui, nu sunt oare toate printre noi? Atunci de unde are Acest Om toate aceste lucruri?“57 Și astfel ei se poticneau în El. Isus însă le-a zis: „Un profet nu este fără onoare decât în patria și în casa lui“.58 Și n-a făcut multe minuni acolo din cauza necredinței lor.

A Story about a Farmer

(Mark 4.1-9; Luke 8.4-8)

1 That same day Jesus left the house and went out beside Lake Galilee, where he sat down to teach.t 2 t Such large crowds gathered around him that he had to sit in a boat, while the people stood on the shore.

3 Then he taught them many things by using stories. He said:
A farmer went out to scatter seed in a field. 4 While the farmer was scattering the seed, some of it fell along the road and was eaten by birds. 5 Other seeds fell on thin, rocky ground and quickly started growing because the soil wasn't very deep. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched and dried up, because they did not have deep roots. 7 Some other seeds fell where thornbushes grew up and choked the plants. 8 But a few seeds did fall on good ground where the plants produced 100 or 60 or 30 times as much as was scattered.

9 If you have ears, pay attention!

Why Jesus Used Stories

(Mark 4.10-12; Luke 8.9,10)

10 Jesus' disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you use stories to speak to the people?”

11 Jesus answered:
I have explained the secrets about the kingdom of heaven to you, but not to others. 12 t Everyone who has something will be given more. But people who don't have anything will lose even what little they have. 13 I use stories when I speak to them because when they look, they cannot see, and when they listen, they cannot hear or understand.

14 t So God's promise came true, just as the prophet Isaiah had said,
“These people will listen
and listen,
but never understand.
They will look and look,
but never see.

15 All of them have
stubborn minds!
They refuse to listen;
they cover their eyes.
They cannot see or hear
or understand.
If they could,
they would turn to me,
and I would heal them.”
16  t But God has blessed you, because your eyes can see and your ears can hear!

17 Many prophets and good people were eager to see what you see and to hear what you hear. But I tell you they did not see or hear.

Jesus Explains the Story //about the Farmer

(Mark 4.13-20; Luke 8.11-15)

18 Now listen to the meaning of the story about the farmer:
19 The seeds that fell along the road are the people who hear the message about the kingdom, but don't understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches the message from their hearts. 20 The seeds that fell on rocky ground are the people who gladly hear the message and accept it at once.

21 But they don't have deep roots, and they don't last very long. As soon as life gets hard or the message gets them in trouble, they give up.
22 The seeds that fell among the thornbushes are also people who hear the message. But they start worrying about the needs of this life and are fooled by the desire to get rich. So the message gets choked out, and they never produce anything.

23 The seeds that fell on good ground are the people who hear and understand the message. They produce as much as 100 or 60 or 30 times what was planted.

Weeds among the Wheat

24 Jesus then told them this story:
The kingdom of heaven is like what happened when a farmer scattered good seed in a field.

25 But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and scattered weed seeds in the field and then left.
26 When the plants came up and began to mature, the farmer's servants could see the weeds.

27 The servants came and asked, “Sir, didn't you scatter good seed in your field? Where did these weeds come from?”

28 “An enemy did this,” he replied.
His servants then asked, “Do you want us to go out and pull up the weeds?”
29 “No!” he answered. “You might also pull up the wheat.

30 Leave the weeds alone until harvest time. Then I'll tell my workers to gather the weeds and tie them up and burn them. But I'll order them to store the wheat in my barn.”

Stories about a Mustard Seed //and Yeast

(Mark 4.30-32; Luke 13.18-21)

31 Jesus told them another story:
The kingdom of heaven is like what happens when a farmer plants a mustard seed in a field.

32 Although it is the smallest of all seeds, it grows larger than any garden plant and becomes a tree. Birds even come and nest on its branches.

33 Jesus also said:
The kingdom of heaven is like what happens when a woman mixes a little yeast into three big batches of flour. Finally, all the dough rises.

The Reason for Teaching //with Stories

(Mark 4.33,34)

35 t So God's promise came true, just as the prophett had said,
“I will use stories
to speak my message
and to explain things hidden
since the creation
of the world.”

Jesus Explains the Story //about the Weeds

36 After Jesus left the crowd and went inside, t his disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the story about the weeds in the wheat field.”

37 Jesus answered:
The one who scattered the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, and the good seeds are the people who belong to the kingdom. The weeds are those who belong to the evil one,

39 and the one who scattered them is the devil. The harvest is the end of time, and angels are the ones who bring in the harvest.
40 Weeds are gathered and burned. That's how it will be at the end of time. 41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everyone who does wrong or causes others to sin. 42 Then he will throw them into a flaming furnace, where people will cry and grit their teeth in pain.

43 t But everyone who has done right will shine like the sun in their Father's kingdom. If you have ears, pay attention!

A Hidden Treasure

44 The kingdom of heaven is like what happens when someone finds a treasure hidden in a field and buries it again. Such a person is happy and goes and sells everything in order to buy that field.

A Valuable Pearl

46 After finding a very valuable one, the owner goes and sells everything in order to buy that pearl.

A Fish Net

50 Then those evil people will be thrown into a flaming furnace, where they will cry and grit their teeth in pain.

New and Old Treasures

51 Jesus asked his disciples if they understood all these things. They said, “Yes, we do.”

52 So he told them, “Every student of the Scriptures who becomes a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like someone who brings out new and old treasures from the storeroom.”

The People of Nazareth Turn //against Jesus

(Mark 6.1-6; Luke 4.16-30)

57 t So the people were upset because of what he was doing.
But Jesus said, “Prophets are honored by everyone, except the people of their hometown and their own family.” 58 And because the people did not have any faith, Jesus did not work many miracles there.
