マタイによる福音書 18

一八

1 　そこへ、弟子たちがやって来て、「私たちのうち、だれが天国で一番偉いのでしょうか」と尋ねました。
2 　するとイエスは、近くにいた小さい子供を呼び寄せ、みんなの真ん中に立たせてから、話しだされました。
3 　「よく聞いておくのですよ。　悔い改めて神に立ち返り、この小さい子供たちのようにならなければ、決して天国には入れません。　4 ですから、小さい子供のように自分を低くする者が、天国では一番偉いのです。　5 また、だれでも、この小さい者たちを、わたしのために受け入れる者は、わたしを受け入れるのです。　6 反対に、わたしに頼りきっているこの子供たちの信仰を失わせるような者は、首に大きな石をくくりつけられて、海に投げ込まれたほうが、よっぽどましです。
7 　悪がはびこるこの世はいまわしいものです。　誘惑されるのは避けられないとしても、誘惑のもとになる人はいまわしいものです。　8 罪を犯させるものは、手だろうが足だろうが、切り取ってしまいなさい。　五体満足で地獄へ行くより、片手片足になっても天国に入るほうが、よっぽどましです。　9 また、目が罪を犯させるなら、そんなものはえぐり出しなさい。　両眼そろって地獄へ行くより、片目でも天国に入るほうが、よっぽどましだからです。
10 　この小さい子供たちの一人でも、見下げたりしないように気をつけなさい。　言っておきますが、天国では、子供たちを守る御使いが、いつでもわたしの父のそば近くにいるのです。　11 メシヤ（救い主）のわたしは、神から離れ、迷っている者を救うために来たのです。
12 　ある人が百匹の羊を持っていたとします。　そのうちの一匹が迷い出ていなくなったら、その人はどうするでしょう。　ほかの九十九匹はその場に残したまま、いなくなった一匹を捜しに、山へ出かけるでしょう。　13 そして、もし見つけようものなら、何でもなかったほかの九十九匹以上に、この一匹のために大喜びします。　14 同じように、わたしの父も、この小さい者たちの一人でも滅びないようにと願っておられるのです。
人を赦す者
15 　信仰の友達があなたがたに罪を犯した時は、一人で行って、その誤りを指摘してあげなさい。　もし、相手が忠告を聞いて罪を認めれば、あなたはその友達を取り戻したことになるのです。　16 しかし、もしあなたの言うことに耳を貸そうとしないなら、一人か二人の証人を立てて、もう一度相手のところへ行きなさい。　あなたの言い分をすべて証明してもらうためです。　17 それでも忠告を聞き入れないなら、その問題を教会に持ち出しなさい。　そして、教会があなたを支持してもなお、相手がそれを受け入れないなら、教会はその人と交わるのをやめなさい。　18 言っておきますが、あなたがたが地上で赦したり、禁じたりすることは、天でも同じようになされるのです。
19 　このことも言っておきましょう。　もし、あなたがたのうち二人の者が、何であれ、この地上で心を一つにして願い求めるなら、天におられるわたしの父は、その願い事をかなえてくださいます。　20 たとい二、三人でも、わたしを信じる者同士が集まるなら、わたしはその人たちの真ん中にいるからです。」
21 　その時、ペテロが、イエスのそばに来て尋ねました。　「先生。　友達が私に罪を犯した場合、何回ぐらいまで赦してやればいいでしょうか。　七回でしょうか。」
22 　イエスはお答えになりました。　「いや、七回を七十倍するまでです。
23 　天国は、帳じりをきちんと合わせようとした王にたとえることができます。　24 清算が始まってまもなく、王から三十億円というばく大な借金をしていた男が引き立てられて来ました。　25 その男は借金を返すことができなかったので、王は、自分の身や持ち物全部を売り払ってでも返済しろ、と命じました。
26 　ところが、男は王の前にひれ伏し、顔を地面にすりつけて、『ああ、王様。　お願いでございます。　もう少し、もう少しだけお待ちください。　きっと全額お返しいたしますから』と、必死に願いました。
27 　これを見て、王はかわいそうになり、借金を全額免除し、釈放してやりました。
28 　ところが、赦してもらった男は、王のところから帰ると、その足で、六十万円貸してある人の家に出かけました。　そして、首根っこをつかまえ、『たったいま借金を返せ』と迫ったのです。
29 　相手は、男の前にひれ伏して、『今はかんべんしてください。　もう少ししたら、きっとお返ししますから』と、拝まんばかりに頼みました。
30 　しかし、男は少しも待ってやろうとはせず、その人を捕らえると、借金を全額返すまで牢にたたき込んでしまいました。
31 　このことを知った友人たちが王のところへ行き、事の成り行きを話しました。　32 怒った王は、借金を免除してやった男を呼びつけて、言いました。　『この人でなしめっ！　おまえがあんなに頼んだからこそ、あれほど多額の借金も全部免除してやったのだ。　33 自分があわれんでもらったように、ほかの人をあわれんであげるべきではなかったのかっ！』
34 　そして、借金を全額返済し終えるまで、男を牢に放り込んでおきました。　35 あなたがたも、心から友達を赦さないなら、天の父も、あなたがたに同じようになさるのです。」

Matthew 18

1 In that hour came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?2 And he called to him a little child, and set him in the midst of them,3 and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me:6 But whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea.

7 Woe unto the world because of occasions of stumbling! for it must needs be that the occasions come; but woe to that man through whom the occasion cometh!8 And if thy hand or thy foot causeth thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life maimed or halt, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire.9 And if thine eye causeth thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.10 See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.11 For the Son of man came to save that which was lost.12 How think ye? if any man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and go unto the mountains, and seek that which goeth astray?13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth over it more than over the ninety and nine which have not gone astray.14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

15 And if thy brother sin against thee, go, show him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.16 But if he hear thee not, take with thee one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established.17 And if he refuse to hear them, tell it unto the church: and if he refuse to hear the church also, let him be unto thee as the Gentile and the publican.18 Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.19 Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven.20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

21 Then came Peter and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times?22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven.23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, who would make a reckoning with his servants.24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, that owed him ten thousand talents.25 But forasmuch as he had not wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.26 The servant therefore fell down and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.27 And the lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.28 But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred shillings: and he laid hold on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay what thou owest.29 So his fellow-servant fell down and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee.30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay that which was due.31 So when his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were exceeding sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.32 Then his lord called him unto him, and saith to him, Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou besoughtest me:33 shouldest not thou also have had mercy on thy fellow-servant, even as I had mercy on thee?34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due.35 So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts.
