متی 18

1 اُس وقت شاگرد عیسیٰ کے پاس آ کر پوچھنے لگے، ”آسمان کی بادشاہی میں کون سب سے بڑا ہے؟“2 جواب میں عیسیٰ نے ایک چھوٹے بچے کو بُلا کر اُن کے درمیان کھڑا کیا3 اور کہا، ”مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں اگر تم بدل کر چھوٹے بچوں کی مانند نہ بنو تو تم کبھی آسمان کی بادشاہی میں داخل نہیں ہو گے۔4 اِس لئے جو بھی اپنے آپ کو اِس بچے کی طرح چھوٹا بنائے گا وہ آسمان میں سب سے بڑا ہو گا۔5 اور جو بھی میرے نام میں اِس جیسے چھوٹے بچے کو قبول کرے وہ مجھے قبول کرتا ہے۔6 لیکن جو کوئی اِن چھوٹوں میں سے کسی کو گناہ کرنے پر اُکسائے اُس کے لئے بہتر ہے کہ اُس کے گلے میں بڑی چکّی کا پاٹ باندھ کر اُسے سمندر کی گہرائیوں میں ڈبو دیا جائے۔7 دنیا پر اُن چیزوں کی وجہ سے افسوس جو گناہ کرنے پر اُکساتی ہیں۔ لازم ہے کہ ایسی آزمائشیں آئیں، لیکن اُس شخص پر افسوس جس کی معرفت وہ آئیں۔8 اگر تیرا ہاتھ یا پاؤں تجھے گناہ کرنے پر اُکسائے تو اُسے کاٹ کر پھینک دینا۔ اِس سے پہلے کہ تجھے دو ہاتھوں یا دو پاؤں سمیت جہنم کی ابدی آگ میں پھینکا جائے، بہتر یہ ہے کہ ایک ہاتھ یا پاؤں سے محروم ہو کر ابدی زندگی میں داخل ہو۔9 اور اگر تیری آنکھ تجھے گناہ کرنے پر اُکسائے تو اُسے نکال کر پھینک دینا۔ اِس سے پہلے کہ تجھے دو آنکھوں سمیت جہنم کی آگ میں پھینکا جائے بہتر یہ ہے کہ ایک آنکھ سے محروم ہو کر ابدی زندگی میں داخل ہو۔10 خبردار! تم اِن چھوٹوں میں سے کسی کو بھی حقیر نہ جاننا۔ کیونکہ مَیں تم کو بتاتا ہوں کہ آسمان پر اِن کے فرشتے ہر وقت میرے باپ کے چہرے کو دیکھتے رہتے ہیں۔11 [کیونکہ ابنِ آدم کھوئے ہوؤں کو ڈھونڈنے اور نجات دینے آیا ہے۔]12 تمہارا کیا خیال ہے؟ اگر کسی آدمی کی 100 بھیڑیں ہوں اور ایک بھٹک کر گم ہو جائے تو وہ کیا کرے گا؟ کیا وہ باقی 99 بھیڑیں پہاڑی علاقے میں چھوڑ کر بھٹکی ہوئی بھیڑ کو ڈھونڈنے نہیں جائے گا؟13 اور مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ بھٹکی ہوئی بھیڑ کے ملنے پر وہ اُس کے بارے میں اُن باقی 99 بھیڑوں کی نسبت کہیں زیادہ خوشی منائے گا جو بھٹکی نہیں۔14 بالکل اِسی طرح آسمان پر تمہارا باپ نہیں چاہتا کہ اِن چھوٹوں میں سے ایک بھی ہلاک ہو جائے۔15 اگر تیرے بھائی نے تیرا گناہ کیا ہو تو اکیلے اُس کے پاس جا کر اُس پر اُس کا گناہ ظاہر کر۔ اگر وہ تیری بات مانے تو تُو نے اپنے بھائی کو جیت لیا۔16 لیکن اگر وہ نہ مانے تو ایک یا دو اَور لوگوں کو اپنے ساتھ لے جا تاکہ تمہاری ہر بات کی دو یا تین گواہوں سے تصدیق ہو جائے۔17 اگر وہ اُن کی بات بھی نہ مانے تو جماعت کو بتا دینا۔ اور اگر وہ جماعت کی بھی نہ مانے تو اُس کے ساتھ غیرایمان دار یا ٹیکس لینے والے کا سا سلوک کر۔18 مَیں تم کو سچ بتاتا ہوں کہ جو کچھ بھی تم زمین پر باندھو گے آسمان پر بھی بندھے گا، اور جو کچھ زمین پر کھولو گے آسمان پر بھی کھلے گا۔19 مَیں تم کو یہ بھی بتاتا ہوں کہ اگر تم میں سے دو شخص کسی بات کو مانگنے پر متفق ہو جائیں تو میرا آسمانی باپ تم کو بخشے گا۔20 کیونکہ جہاں بھی دو یا تین افراد میرے نام میں جمع ہو جائیں وہاں مَیں اُن کے درمیان ہوں گا۔“21 پھر پطرس نے عیسیٰ کے پاس آ کر پوچھا، ”خداوند، جب میرا بھائی میرا گناہ کرے تو مَیں کتنی بار اُسے معاف کروں؟ سات بار تک؟“22 عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”مَیں تجھے بتاتا ہوں، سات بار نہیں بلکہ 77 بار۔23 اِس لئے آسمان کی بادشاہی ایک بادشاہ کی مانند ہے جو اپنے نوکروں کے قرضوں کا حساب کتاب کرنا چاہتا تھا۔24 حساب کتاب شروع کرتے وقت ایک آدمی اُس کے سامنے پیش کیا گیا جو اربوں کے حساب سے اُس کا قرض دار تھا۔25 وہ یہ رقم ادا نہ کر سکا، اِس لئے اُس کے مالک نے یہ قرض وصول کرنے کے لئے حکم دیا کہ اُسے بال بچوں اور تمام ملکیت سمیت فروخت کر دیا جائے۔26 یہ سن کر نوکر منہ کے بل گرا اور منت کرنے لگا، ’مجھے مہلت دیں، مَیں پوری رقم ادا کر دوں گا۔‘27 بادشاہ کو اُس پر ترس آیا۔ اُس نے اُس کا قرض معاف کر کے اُسے جانے دیا۔28 لیکن جب یہی نوکر باہر نکلا تو ایک ہم خدمت ملا جو اُس کا چند ہزار روپوں کا قرض دار تھا۔ اُسے پکڑ کر وہ اُس کا گلا دبا کر کہنے لگا، ’اپنا قرض ادا کر!‘29 دوسرا نوکر گر کر منت کرنے لگا، ’مجھے مہلت دیں، مَیں آپ کو ساری رقم ادا کر دوں گا۔‘30 لیکن وہ اِس کے لئے تیار نہ ہوا، بلکہ جا کر اُسے اُس وقت تک جیل میں ڈلوایا جب تک وہ پوری رقم ادا نہ کر دے۔31 جب باقی نوکروں نے یہ دیکھا تو اُنہیں شدید دُکھ ہوا اور اُنہوں نے اپنے مالک کے پاس جا کر سب کچھ بتا دیا جو ہوا تھا۔32 اِس پر مالک نے اُس نوکر کو اپنے پاس بُلا لیا اور کہا، ’شریر نوکر! جب تُو نے میری منت کی تو مَیں نے تیرا پورا قرض معاف کر دیا۔33 کیا لازم نہ تھا کہ تُو بھی اپنے ساتھی نوکر پر اُتنا رحم کرتا جتنا مَیں نے تجھ پر کیا تھا؟‘34 غصے میں مالک نے اُسے جیل کے افسروں کے حوالے کر دیا تاکہ اُس پر اُس وقت تک تشدد کیا جائے جب تک وہ قرض کی پوری رقم ادا نہ کر دے۔35 میرا آسمانی باپ تم میں سے ہر ایک کے ساتھ بھی ایسا ہی کرے گا اگر تم نے اپنے بھائی کو پورے دل سے معاف نہ کیا۔“

Matthew 18

1 In that hour came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?2 And he called to him a little child, and set him in the midst of them,3 and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me:6 But whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea.

7 Woe unto the world because of occasions of stumbling! for it must needs be that the occasions come; but woe to that man through whom the occasion cometh!8 And if thy hand or thy foot causeth thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life maimed or halt, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire.9 And if thine eye causeth thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.10 See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.11 For the Son of man came to save that which was lost.12 How think ye? if any man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and go unto the mountains, and seek that which goeth astray?13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth over it more than over the ninety and nine which have not gone astray.14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

15 And if thy brother sin against thee, go, show him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.16 But if he hear thee not, take with thee one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established.17 And if he refuse to hear them, tell it unto the church: and if he refuse to hear the church also, let him be unto thee as the Gentile and the publican.18 Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.19 Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven.20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

21 Then came Peter and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times?22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven.23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, who would make a reckoning with his servants.24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, that owed him ten thousand talents.25 But forasmuch as he had not wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.26 The servant therefore fell down and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.27 And the lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.28 But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred shillings: and he laid hold on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay what thou owest.29 So his fellow-servant fell down and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee.30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay that which was due.31 So when his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were exceeding sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.32 Then his lord called him unto him, and saith to him, Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou besoughtest me:33 shouldest not thou also have had mercy on thy fellow-servant, even as I had mercy on thee?34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due.35 So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts.
