มัทธิว 22

1 พระเยซูตรัสแก่เขาเป็นคำอุปมาอีกว่า2 "อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนกษัตริย์องค์หนึ่ง ซึ่งได้จัดพิธีอภิเษกสมรสสำหรับราชโอรสของท่าน3 แล้วใช้พวกผู้รับใช้ไปตามผู้ที่ได้รับเชิญมาในงานอภิเษกสมรสนั้น แต่เขาไม่ใคร่จะมา4 ท่านยังใช้พวกผู้รับใช้อื่นไปอีก รับสั่งว่า `ให้บอกผู้รับเชิญนั้นว่า ดูเถิด เราได้จัดการเลี้ยงไว้แล้ว วัวและสัตว์ขุนแล้วของเราก็ฆ่าไว้เสร็จ สิ่งสารพัดก็เตรียมไว้พร้อม จงมาในพิธีอภิเษกสมรสนี้เถิด'5 แต่เขาก็เพิกเฉยและไปเสีย คนหนึ่งไปไร่นาของตน อีกคนหนึ่งก็ไปทำการค้าขาย6 ฝ่ายพวกนอกนั้นก็จับพวกผู้รับใช้ของท่าน ทำการอัปยศต่างๆแล้วฆ่าเสีย7 แต่ครั้นกษัตริย์องค์นั้นได้ยินแล้ว ท่านก็ทรงพระพิโรธ จึงรับสั่งให้ยกกองทหารไป ปราบปรามฆาตกรเหล่านั้น และเผาเมืองเขาเสีย8 แล้วท่านจึงรับสั่งแก่พวกผู้รับใช้ของท่านว่า `งานสมรสก็พร้อมอยู่ แต่ผู้ที่ได้รับเชิญนั้นไม่สมกับงาน9 เหตุฉะนั้น จงออกไปตามทางหลวง พบคนมากเท่าใดก็ให้เชิญมาในพิธีอภิเษกสมรสนี้'10 ผู้รับใช้เหล่านั้นจึงออกไปเชิญคนทั้งปวงตามทางหลวงแล้วแต่จะพบ ให้มาทั้งดีและชั่วจนงานสมรสนั้นเต็มด้วยแขก11 แต่เมื่อกษัตริย์องค์นั้นเสด็จทอดพระเนตรแขก ก็เห็นผู้หนึ่งมิได้สวมเสื้อสำหรับงานสมรส12 ท่านจึงรับสั่งถามเขาว่า `สหายเอ๋ย เหตุไฉนท่านจึงมาที่นี่โดยไม่สวมเสื้อสำหรับงานสมรส' ผู้นั้นก็นิ่งอยู่พูดไม่ออก13 กษัตริย์จึงรับสั่งแก่พวกผู้รับใช้ว่า `จงมัดมือมัดเท้าคนนี้เอาไปทิ้งเสียที่มืดภายนอก ที่นั่นจะมีการร้องไห้และขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟัน'14 ด้วยผู้ที่ได้รับเชิญก็มาก แต่ผู้ที่ทรงเลือกก็น้อย"15 ขณะนั้นพวกฟาริสีไปปรึกษากันว่า พวกเขาจะจับผิดในถ้อยคำของพระองค์ได้อย่างไร16 พวกเขาจึงใช้พวกสาวกของตนกับพวกเฮโรดให้ไปทูลพระองค์ว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายทราบอยู่ว่าท่านเป็นคนซื่อสัตย์ และสั่งสอนทางของพระเจ้าด้วยความสัตย์จริง โดยมิได้เอาใจผู้ใด เพราะท่านมิได้เห็นแก่หน้าผู้ใด17 เหตุฉะนั้น ขอโปรดบอกให้พวกข้าพเจ้าทราบว่า ท่านคิดเห็นอย่างไร การที่จะส่งส่วยให้แก่ซีซาร์นั้น ถูกต้องตามพระราชบัญญัติหรือไม่"18 แต่พระเยซูทรงล่วงรู้ถึงความชั่วร้ายของเขาจึงตรัสว่า "พวกหน้าซื่อใจคด เจ้าทดลองเราทำไม19 จงเอาเงินที่จะเสียส่วยนั้นมาให้เราดูก่อน" เขาจึงเอาเงินตราเหรียญหนึ่งถวายพระองค์20 พระองค์ตรัสถามเขาว่า "รูปและคำจารึกนี้เป็นของใคร"21 เขาทูลพระองค์ว่า "ของซีซาร์" แล้วพระองค์ตรัสกับเขาว่า "เหตุฉะนั้นของของซีซาร์จงถวายแก่ซีซาร์ และของของพระเจ้าจงถวายแด่พระเจ้า"22 ครั้นเขาได้ยินคำตรัสตอบของพระองค์นั้นแล้ว เขาก็ประหลาดใจ จึงละพระองค์ไว้และพากันกลับไป23 ในวันนั้นมีพวกสะดูสีมาหาพระองค์ พวกนี้เป็นผู้ที่กล่าวว่า การฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตายไม่มี เขาจึงทูลถามพระองค์ว่า24 "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า โมเสสสั่งว่า `ถ้าผู้ใดตายยังไม่มีบุตร ก็ให้น้องชายรับพี่สะใภ้ สืบเชื้อสายของพี่ชายไว้'25 ในพวกเรามีพี่น้องผู้ชายเจ็ดคน พี่หัวปีมีภรรยาแล้วก็ตายเมื่อยังไม่มีบุตร ก็ละภรรยาไว้ให้แก่น้องชาย26 ฝ่ายคนที่สองที่สามก็เช่นเดียวกัน จนถึงคนที่เจ็ด27 ในที่สุดหญิงนั้นก็ตายด้วย28 เหตุฉะนั้นในวันที่จะฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตาย หญิงนั้นจะเป็นภรรยาของผู้ใดในเจ็ดคนนั้น ด้วยนางได้เป็นภรรยาของชายทั้งเจ็ดคนแล้ว"29 พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "พวกท่านผิดแล้ว เพราะท่านไม่รู้พระคัมภีร์หรือฤทธิ์เดชของพระเจ้า30 ด้วยว่าเมื่อมนุษย์ฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตายนั้น จะไม่มีการสมรสหรือยกให้เป็นสามีภรรยากันอีก แต่จะเป็นเหมือนพวกทูตสวรรค์ของพระเจ้าในสวรรค์31 แต่เรื่องคนตายกลับฟื้นนั้น ท่านทั้งหลายยังไม่ได้อ่านหรือ ซึ่งพระเจ้าได้ตรัสไว้กับพวกท่านว่า32 `เราเป็นพระเจ้าของอับราฮัม เป็นพระเจ้าของอิสอัค และเป็นพระเจ้าของยาโคบ' พระเจ้ามิได้เป็นพระเจ้าของคนตาย แต่ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าของคนเป็น"33 ประชาชนทั้งปวงเมื่อได้ยินก็ประหลาดใจด้วยคำสั่งสอนของพระองค์34 แต่พวกฟาริสีเมื่อได้ยินว่าพระองค์ทรงกระทำให้พวกสะดูสีนิ่งอั้นอยู่ จึงประชุมกัน35 มีนักกฎหมายผู้หนึ่งในพวกเขาทดลองพระองค์โดยถามพระองค์ว่า36 "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ในพระราชบัญญัตินั้น พระบัญญัติข้อใดสำคัญที่สุด"37 พระเยซูทรงตอบเขาว่า "`จงรักองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าผู้เป็นพระเจ้าของเจ้า ด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของเจ้า และด้วยสิ้นสุดความคิดของเจ้า'38 นี่แหละเป็นพระบัญญัติข้อต้นและข้อใหญ่39 ข้อที่สองก็เหมือนกัน คือ `จงรักเพื่อนบ้านเหมือนรักตนเอง'40 พระราชบัญญัติและคำพยากรณ์ทั้งสิ้นก็ขึ้นอยู่กับพระบัญญัติสองข้อนี้"41 เมื่อพวกฟาริสียังประชุมกันอยู่ที่นั่น พระเยซูทรงถามพวกเขาว่า42 "พวกท่านคิดอย่างไรด้วยเรื่องพระคริสต์ พระองค์ทรงเป็นบุตรของผู้ใด" เขาตอบพระองค์ว่า "เป็นบุตรของดาวิด"43 พระองค์ตรัสถามเขาว่า "ถ้าอย่างนั้นเป็นไฉนดาวิดโดยเดชพระวิญญาณจึงได้เรียกพระองค์ว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และรับสั่งว่า44 `องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสกับองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของข้าพเจ้าว่า จงนั่งที่ขวามือของเรา จนกว่าเราจะกระทำให้ศัตรูของท่านเป็นแท่นรองเท้าของท่าน'45 ถ้าดาวิดเรียกพระองค์ว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระองค์จะเป็นบุตรของดาวิดอย่างไรได้"46 ไม่มีผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดอาจตอบพระองค์สักคำหนึ่ง ตั้งแต่วันนั้นมา ไม่มีใครกล้าซักถามพระองค์ต่อไป

Matthew 22

1 And Jesus answered and spake again in parables unto them, saying,2 The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,3 and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the marriage feast: and they would not come.4 Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them that are bidden, Behold, I have made ready my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast.5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;6 and the rest laid hold on his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.7 But the king was wroth; and he sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they that were bidden were not worthy.9 Go ye therefore unto the partings of the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage feast.10 And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests.11 But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment:12 and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless.13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.14 For many are called, but few chosen.

15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might ensnare him in his talk.16 And they send to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one: for thou regardest not the person of men.17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why make ye trial of me, ye hypocrites?19 Show me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a denarius.20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?21 They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.22 And when they heard it, they marvelled, and left him, and went away.

23 On that day there came to him Sadducees, they that say that there is no resurrection: and they asked him,24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first married and deceased, and having no seed left his wife unto his brother;26 in like manner the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.27 And after them all, the woman died.28 In the resurrection therefore whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.29 But Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in heaven.31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.33 And when the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

34 But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, gathered themselves together.35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, trying him:36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?37 And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the great and first commandment.39 And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.40 On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.

41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,42 saying, What think ye of the Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,

44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I put thine enemies underneath thy feet?

45 If David then calleth him Lord, how is he his son?46 And no one was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
