馬太福音 23

譴責文士和法利賽人

（可12．38－40；路11．37－52；20．45－47）

1 那時，耶穌對眾人和門徒講論， 2 說：「文士和法利賽人坐在摩西的位上， 3 所以凡他們所吩咐你們的，你們都要謹守遵行。但不要效法他們的行為，因為他們能說不能行。 4 他們把難挑的t重擔捆起來，擱在人的肩上，但自己一個指頭也不肯動。 5 他們所做的一切事都是要讓人看見，所以把佩戴的經匣t加寬了，衣裳的繸子加長了， 6 喜愛宴席上的首座、會堂裏的高位， 7 又喜歡人們在街市上向他們問安，稱呼他們拉比t。 8 但你們不要接受拉比的稱呼，因為只有一位是你們的老師；你們都是弟兄。 9 也不要稱呼地上的人為父，因為只有一位是你們的父，就是在天上的父。 10 不要接受師傅的稱呼，因為只有一位是你們的師傅，就是基督。 11 你們中間誰為大，誰就要作你們的用人。 12 凡自高的，必降為卑；自甘卑微的，必升為高。

13 「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們當著人的面把天國的門關了，自己不進去，要進去的人，你們也不容他們進去。t

15 「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們走遍海洋陸地，說服一個人入教，既入了教，卻使他成為比你們加倍壞的地獄之子。

16 「你們這瞎眼的嚮導有禍了！你們說：『凡指著聖所起誓的算不得甚麼；但是凡指著聖所中的金子起誓的，他就該謹守。』 17 你們這無知的瞎子啊，哪個更大呢？是金子，還是使金子成聖的聖所呢？ 18 你們又說：『凡指著祭壇起誓的算不得甚麼；但是凡指著壇上祭物起誓的，他就該謹守。』 19 你們這些瞎子啊，哪個更大呢？是祭物，還是使祭物成聖的壇呢？ 20 所以，人指著祭壇起誓，就是指著壇和壇上一切所有的起誓； 21 人指著聖所起誓，就是指著聖所和那住在聖所裏的起誓； 22 人指著天起誓，就是指著上帝的寶座和那坐在上面的起誓。

23 「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們將薄荷、大茴香、小茴香獻上十分之一，那律法上更重要的事，就是公義、憐憫、信實，你們反倒不做；這原是你們該做的－至於那些奉獻也不可廢棄。 24 你們這瞎眼的嚮導，蠓蟲你們就濾出來，駱駝你們倒吞下去。

25 「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們洗淨杯盤的外面，裏面卻滿了貪婪和放蕩。 26 你這瞎眼的法利賽人，先洗淨杯子t的裏面，好使外面也乾淨了。

27 「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們好像粉飾了的墳墓，外面好看，裏面卻滿了死人的骨頭和一切的污穢。 28 你們也是如此，外面對人顯出公義，裏面卻滿了虛偽和不法的事。

29 「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們建造先知的墳，裝修義人的墓， 30 說：『若是我們在先祖的時代，必不和他們一同流先知的血。』 31 這樣，你們就證明自己是殺害先知的人的子孫了。 32 你們去充滿你們祖宗的惡貫吧！ 33 你們這些蛇啊，毒蛇的孽種啊，怎能逃脫地獄的懲罰呢？ 34 所以，我差遣先知、智慧人和文士到你們這裏來，有的你們要殺害，要釘十字架；有的你們要在會堂裏鞭打，從這城追逼到那城， 35 如此，地上所有義人流的血都歸到你們身上，從義人亞伯的血起，直到你們在聖所和祭壇中間所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒迦利亞的血為止。 36 我實在告訴你們，這一切的罪都要歸到這世代了。」

為耶路撒冷哀哭

（路13．34－35）

37 「耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊，你常殺害先知，又用石頭打死那奉差遣到你這裏來的人。我多少次想聚集你的兒女，好像母雞把小雞聚集在翅膀底下，但是你們不願意。 38 看吧，你們的家要被廢棄成為荒蕪。 39 我告訴你們，從今以後，你們絕不會再見到我，直到你們說：『奉主名來的是應當稱頌的！』」

MATTHEW 23

Jesus Condemns the Pharisees //and the Teachers of //the Law of Moses

(Mark 12.38-40; Luke 11.37-52; 20.45-47)

1 Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:
2 The Pharisees and the teachers of the Law are experts in the Law of Moses.

3 So obey everything they teach you, but don't do as they do. After all, they say one thing and do something else.
4 They pile heavy burdens on people's shoulders and won't lift a finger to help. 5 t Everything they do is just to show off in front of others. They even make a big show of wearing Scripture verses on their foreheads and arms, and they wear big tasselst for everyone to see. 6 They love the best seats at banquets and the front seats in the synagogues.

7 And when they are in the market, they like to have people greet them as their teachers.
8 But none of you should be called a teacher. You have only one teacher, and all of you are like brothers and sisters. 9 Don't call anyone on earth your father. All of you have the same Father in heaven. 10 None of you should be called the leader. The Messiah is your only leader. 11 t Whoever is the greatest should be the servant of the others.

12 t If you put yourself above others, you will be put down. But if you humble yourself, you will be honored.

13-14 You Pharisees and teachers of the Law of Moses are in for trouble! You're nothing but show-offs. You lock people out of the kingdom of heaven. You won't go in yourselves, and you keep others from going in.t

15 You Pharisees and teachers of the Law of Moses are in for trouble! You're nothing but show-offs. You travel over land and sea to win one follower. And when you have done so, you make that person twice as fit for hell as you are.
16 You are in for trouble! You are supposed to lead others, but you are blind. You teach that it doesn't matter if a person swears by the temple. But you say it does matter if someone swears by the gold in the temple.

17 You blind fools! Which is greater, the gold or the temple that makes the gold sacred?
18 You also teach that it doesn't matter if a person swears by the altar. But you say it does matter if someone swears by the gift on the altar. 19 Are you blind? Which is more important, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 20 Anyone who swears by the altar also swears by everything on it. 21 And anyone who swears by the temple also swears by God, who lives there.

22 t To swear by heaven is the same as swearing by God's throne and by the one who sits on that throne.
23  t You Pharisees and teachers are show-offs, and you're in for trouble! You give God a tenth of the spices from your garden, such as mint, dill, and cumin. Yet you neglect the more important matters of the Law, such as justice, mercy, and faithfulness. These are the important things you should have done, though you should not have left the others undone either.

24 You blind leaders! You strain out a small fly but swallow a camel.
25 You Pharisees and teachers are show-offs, and you're in for trouble! You wash the outside of your cups and dishes, while inside there is nothing but greed and selfishness.

26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of a cup, and then the outside will also be clean.
27  t You Pharisees and teachers are in for trouble! You're nothing but show-offs. You're like tombs that have been whitewashed.t On the outside they are beautiful, but inside they are full of bones and filth.

28 That's what you are like. Outside you look good, but inside you are evil and only pretend to be good.
29 You Pharisees and teachers are nothing but show-offs, and you're in for trouble! You build monuments for the prophets and decorate the tombs of good people. 30 And you claim you would not have taken part with your ancestors in killing the prophets. 31 But you prove you really are the relatives of the ones who killed the prophets. 32 So keep on doing everything they did.

33 t You are nothing but snakes and the children of snakes! How can you escape going to hell?
34 I will send to you prophets and wise people and experts in the Law of Moses. You will kill them or nail them to a cross or beat them in your synagogues or chase them from town to town. 35 t That's why you will be held guilty for the murder of every good person, beginning with the good man Abel. This also includes Barachiah's son Zechariah, t the man you murdered between the temple and the altar.

36 I can promise that you people living today will be punished for all these things!

Jesus Loves Jerusalem

(Luke 13.34,35)

37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem! Your people have killed the prophets and have stoned the messengers who were sent to you. I have often wanted to gather your people, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. But you wouldn't let me. 38 t And now your temple will be deserted.

39 t You won't see me again until you say,
“Blessed is the one who comes
in the name of the Lord.”
