第24章

1 イエスが宮から出て行こうとしておられると、弟子たちは近寄ってきて、宮の建物にイエスの注意を促した。2 そこでイエスは彼らにむかって言われた、「あなたがたは、これらすべてのものを見ないか。よく言っておく。その石一つでもくずされずに、そこに他の石の上に残ることもなくなるであろう」。3 またオリブ山ですわっておられると、弟子たちが、ひそかにみもとにきて言った、「どうぞお話しください。いつ、そんなことが起るのでしょうか。あなたがまたおいでになる時や、世の終りには、どんな前兆がありますか」。4 そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「人に惑わされないように気をつけなさい。5 多くの者がわたしの名を名のって現れ、自分がキリストだと言って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。6 また、戦争と戦争のうわさとを聞くであろう。注意していなさい、あわててはいけない。それは起らねばならないが、まだ終りではない。7 民は民に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がるであろう。またあちこちに、ききんが起り、また地震があるであろう。8 しかし、すべてこれらは産みの苦しみの初めである。9 そのとき人々は、あなたがたを苦しみにあわせ、また殺すであろう。またあなたがたは、わたしの名のゆえにすべての民に憎まれるであろう。10 そのとき、多くの人がつまずき、また互に裏切り、憎み合うであろう。11 また多くのにせ預言者が起って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。12 また不法がはびこるので、多くの人の愛が冷えるであろう。13 しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われる。14 そしてこの御国の福音は、すべての民に対してあかしをするために、全世界に宣べ伝えられるであろう。そしてそれから最後が来るのである。15 預言者ダニエルによって言われた荒らす憎むべき者が、聖なる場所に立つのを見たならば（読者よ、悟れ）、16 そのとき、ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げよ。17 屋上にいる者は、家からものを取り出そうとして下におりるな。18 畑にいる者は、上着を取りにあとへもどるな。19 その日には、身重の女と乳飲み子をもつ女とは、不幸である。20 あなたがたの逃げるのが、冬または安息日にならないように祈れ。21 その時には、世の初めから現在に至るまで、かつてなく今後もないような大きな患難が起るからである。22 もしその期間が縮められないなら、救われる者はひとりもないであろう。しかし、選民のためには、その期間が縮められるであろう。23 そのとき、だれかがあなたがたに『見よ、ここにキリストがいる』、また、『あそこにいる』と言っても、それを信じるな。24 にせキリストたちや、にせ預言者たちが起って、大いなるしるしと奇跡とを行い、できれば、選民をも惑わそうとするであろう。25 見よ、あなたがたに前もって言っておく。26 だから、人々が『見よ、彼は荒野にいる』と言っても、出て行くな。また『見よ、へやの中にいる』と言っても、信じるな。27 ちょうど、いなずまが東から西にひらめき渡るように、人の子も現れるであろう。28 死体のあるところには、はげたかが集まるものである。29 しかし、その時に起る患難の後、たちまち日は暗くなり、月はその光を放つことをやめ、星は空から落ち、天体は揺り動かされるであろう。30 そのとき、人の子のしるしが天に現れるであろう。またそのとき、地のすべての民族は嘆き、そして力と大いなる栄光とをもって、人の子が天の雲に乗って来るのを、人々は見るであろう。31 また、彼は大いなるラッパの音と共に御使たちをつかわして、天のはてからはてに至るまで、四方からその選民を呼び集めるであろう。32 いちじくの木からこの譬を学びなさい。その枝が柔らかになり、葉が出るようになると、夏の近いことがわかる。33 そのように、すべてこれらのことを見たならば、人の子が戸口まで近づいていると知りなさい。34 よく聞いておきなさい。これらの事が、ことごとく起るまでは、この時代は滅びることがない。35 天地は滅びるであろう。しかしわたしの言葉は滅びることがない。36 その日、その時は、だれも知らない。天の御使たちも、また子も知らない、ただ父だけが知っておられる。37 人の子の現れるのも、ちょうどノアの時のようであろう。38 すなわち、洪水の出る前、ノアが箱舟にはいる日まで、人々は食い、飲み、めとり、とつぎなどしていた。39 そして洪水が襲ってきて、いっさいのものをさらって行くまで、彼らは気がつかなかった。人の子の現れるのも、そのようであろう。40 そのとき、ふたりの者が畑にいると、ひとりは取り去られ、ひとりは取り残されるであろう。41 ふたりの女がうすをひいていると、ひとりは取り去られ、ひとりは残されるであろう。42 だから、目をさましていなさい。いつの日にあなたがたの主がこられるのか、あなたがたには、わからないからである。43 このことをわきまえているがよい。家の主人は、盗賊がいつごろ来るかわかっているなら、目をさましていて、自分の家に押し入ることを許さないであろう。44 だから、あなたがたも用意をしていなさい。思いがけない時に人の子が来るからである。45 主人がその家の僕たちの上に立てて、時に応じて食物をそなえさせる忠実な思慮深い僕は、いったい、だれであろう。46 主人が帰ってきたとき、そのようにつとめているのを見られる僕は、さいわいである。47 よく言っておくが、主人は彼を立てて自分の全財産を管理させるであろう。48 もしそれが悪い僕であって、自分の主人は帰りがおそいと心の中で思い、49 その僕仲間をたたきはじめ、また酒飲み仲間と一緒に食べたり飲んだりしているなら、50 その僕の主人は思いがけない日、気がつかない時に帰ってきて、51 彼を厳罰に処し、偽善者たちと同じ目にあわせるであろう。彼はそこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。

Matthew 24

1 And Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.2 But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3 And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray.6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.8 But all these things are the beginning of travail.9 Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name’s sake.10 And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.11 And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray.12 And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold.13 But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.

15 When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand),16 then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains:17 let him that is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house:18 and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak.19 But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days!20 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath:21 for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.22 And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here; believe it not.24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.25 Behold, I have told you beforehand.26 If therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe it not.27 For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.28 Wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29 But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:30 and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32 Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh;33 even so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors.34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.36 But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only.37 And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,39 and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.40 Then shall two man be in the field; one is taken, and one is left:41 two women shall be grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left.42 Watch therefore: for ye know not on what day your Lord cometh.43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through.44 Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.

45 Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season?46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.47 Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath.48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth;49 and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken;50 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not,51 and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
