Jésus annonce la destruction du temple

1 Jésus sortit du temple et, tandis qu’il s’en allait, ses disciples s’approchèrent de lui pour lui faire remarquer les constructions du temple.
2 Alors Jésus prit la parole et leur dit : « Vous voyez tout cela ? Je vous le déclare, c’est la vérité : il ne restera pas ici une seule pierre posée sur une autre ; tout sera renversé. »Des malheurs et des persécutions

3 Jésus s’était assis au mont des Oliviers. Ses disciples s’approchèrent alors de lui en particulier et lui demandèrent : « Dis-nous quand cela se passera, et quel signe indiquera le moment de ta venue et de la fin du monde. » 4 Jésus leur répondit : « Faites attention que personne ne vous trompe. 5 Car beaucoup d’hommes viendront en usant de mon nom et diront : “Je suis le Messie !” Et ils tromperont quantité de gens. 6 Vous allez entendre le bruit de guerres proches et des nouvelles sur des guerres lointaines ; ne vous laissez pas effrayer : il faut que cela arrive, mais ce ne sera pas encore la fin de ce monde. 7 Un peuple combattra contre un autre peuple, et un royaume attaquera un autre royaume ; il y aura des famines et des tremblements de terre dans différentes régions. 8 Tous ces événements seront comme les premières douleurs de l’accouchement. 9 Alors des hommes vous livreront pour qu’on vous tourmente et l’on vous mettra à mort. Tous les peuples vous haïront à cause de moi. 10 En ce temps-là, beaucoup abandonneront la foi ; ils se trahiront et se haïront les uns les autres. 11 De nombreux faux prophètes apparaîtront et tromperont beaucoup de gens. 12 Le mal se répandra à tel point que l’amour d’un grand nombre de personnes se refroidira. 13 Mais celui qui tiendra bon jusqu’à la fin sera sauvé.
14 Cette Bonne Nouvelle du Royaume sera annoncée dans le monde entier pour que le témoignage en soit présenté à tous les peuples. Et alors viendra la fin. »L’Horreur abominable

15 « Vous verrez celui qu’on appelle “l’Horreur abominable”, dont le prophète Daniel a parlét ; il sera placé dans le lieu saint. – Que celui qui lit comprenne bien cela ! – 16 Alors, ceux qui seront en Judée devront s’enfuir vers les montagnes ; 17 celui qui sera sur la terrasse de sa maison ne devra pas descendre pour prendre ses affaires à l’intérieurt ; 18 et celui qui sera dans les champs ne devra pas retourner chez lui pour emporter son manteau. 19 Quel malheur ce sera, en ces jours-là, pour les femmes enceintes et pour celles qui allaiteront ! 20 Priez Dieu pour que vous n’ayez pas à fuir pendant la mauvaise saison ou un jour de sabbat ! 21 Car, en ce temps-là, la détresse sera plus terrible que toutes celles qu’on a connues depuis le commencement du monde jusqu’à maintenant, et il n’y en aura plus jamais de pareillet. 22 Si Dieu n’avait pas décidé d’abréger cette période, personne ne pourrait survivre. Mais il l’a abrégée à cause de ceux qu’il a choisis. 23 Si quelqu’un vous dit alors : “Regardez, le Messie est ici !” ou bien : “Il est là !”, ne le croyez pas. 24 Car de faux messies et de faux prophètes apparaîtront ; ils accompliront de grands miracles et des prodiges pour tromper, si possible, même ceux que Dieu a choisis.
25 Écoutez ! Je vous ai avertis à l’avance.
26 « Si donc on vous dit : “Regardez, il est dans le désert !”, n’y allez pas. Ou si l’on vous dit : “Regardez, il se cache ici !”, ne le croyez pas. 27 Comme l’éclair brille à travers le ciel de l’est à l’ouest, ainsi viendra le Fils de l’homme.
28 Où que soit le cadavre, là se rassembleront les vautours. »La venue du Fils de l’homme

29 « Aussitôt après la détresse de ces jours-là, le soleil s’obscurcira, la lune ne donnera plus sa clarté, les étoiles tomberont du ciel et les puissances des cieux seront ébranléest. 30 Alors, le signe du Fils de l’homme apparaîtra dans le ciel ; alors, tous les peuples de la terre se lamenteront, ils verront le Fils de l’homme arriver sur les nuages du ciel avec beaucoup de puissance et de gloiret.
31 La grande trompette sonnera et il enverra ses anges aux quatre coins de la terre : ils rassembleront ceux qu’il a choisis, d’un bout du monde à l’autret. »L’enseignement donné par le figuier

32 « Comprenez l’enseignement que donne le figuier : dès que la sève circule dans ses branches et que ses feuilles poussent, vous savez que la bonne saison est proche. 33 De même, quand vous verrez tout cela, sachez que l’événement est proche, qu’il va se produiret. 34 Je vous le déclare, c’est la vérité : les gens d’aujourd’hui n’auront pas tous disparu avant que tout cela arrive.
35 Le ciel et la terre disparaîtront, tandis que mes paroles ne disparaîtront jamais. »Dieu seul connaît le moment de la fin

36 « Cependant personne ne sait quand viendra ce jour ou cette heure, pas même les anges dans les cieux, ni même le Filst ; le Père seul le sait. 37 Ce qui s’est passé du temps de Noé se passera de la même façon quand viendra le Fils de l’homme. 38 En effet, à cette époque, avant la grande inondation, les gens mangeaient et buvaient, se mariaient ou donnaient leurs filles en mariage, jusqu’au jour où Noé entra dans l’archet ; 39 ils ne se rendirent compte de rien jusqu’au moment où la grande inondation vint et les emporta toust. Ainsi en sera-t-il quand viendra le Fils de l’homme. 40 Alors, deux hommes seront aux champs : l’un sera emmené et l’autre laissé. 41 Deux femmes moudront du grain au moulin : l’une sera emmenée et l’autre laissée. 42 Veillez donc, car vous ne savez pas quel jour votre Seigneur viendra. 43 Comprenez bien ceci : si le maître de la maison savait à quel moment de la nuit le voleur doit venir, il resterait éveillé et ne le laisserait pas pénétrer dans sa maison.
44 C’est pourquoi, tenez-vous prêts, vous aussi, car le Fils de l’homme viendra à l’heure que vous ne pensez pas. »Le serviteur fidèle et le serviteur infidèle

45 « Quel est donc le serviteur fidèle et intelligent ? En voici un que son maître a chargé de prendre soin des autres serviteurs pour leur donner leur nourriture au moment voulu. 46 Heureux ce serviteur si le maître, à son retour chez lui, le trouve occupé à ce travail ! 47 Je vous le déclare, c’est la vérité : le maître lui confiera la charge de tous ses biens. 48 Mais si c’est un mauvais serviteur, il se dira : “Mon maître tarde à revenir”, 49 et il se mettra à battre ses compagnons de service, il mangera et boira avec des ivrognes. 50 Eh bien, le maître reviendra un jour où le serviteur ne l’attend pas et à une heure qu’il ne connaît pas ; 51 il chassera le serviteurt et lui fera partager le sort des hypocrites, là où l’on pleure et grince des dents. »
Matthew 24
1 And Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.2 But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray.6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.8 But all these things are the beginning of travail.9 Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name’s sake.10 And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.11 And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray.12 And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold.13 But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand),16 then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains:17 let him that is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house:18 and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak.19 But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days!20 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath:21 for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.22 And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here; believe it not.24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.25 Behold, I have told you beforehand.26 If therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe it not.27 For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.28 Wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29 But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:30 and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh;33 even so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors.34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.36 But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only.37 And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,39 and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.40 Then shall two man be in the field; one is taken, and one is left:41 two women shall be grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left.42 Watch therefore: for ye know not on what day your Lord cometh.43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through.44 Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season?46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.47 Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath.48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth;49 and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken;50 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not,51 and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
