1 "เมื่อถึงวันนั้น อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์จะเปรียบเหมือนหญิงพรหมจารีสิบคนถือตะเกียงของตนออกไปรับเจ้าบ่าว2 ในพวกเธอเป็นคนที่มีปัญญาห้าคน และเป็นคนโง่ห้าคน3 พวกที่โง่นั้นเอาตะเกียงของตนไป แต่หาได้เอาน้ำมันไปด้วยไม่4 แต่คนที่มีปัญญานั้นได้เอาน้ำมันใส่ภาชนะไปกับตะเกียงของตนด้วย5 เมื่อเจ้าบ่าวยังช้าอยู่ พวกเธอทุกคนก็พากันง่วงเหงาและหลับไป6 ครั้นเวลาเที่ยงคืนก็มีเสียงร้องมาว่า `ดูเถิด เจ้าบ่าวมาแล้ว จงออกมารับท่านเถิด'7 บรรดาหญิงพรหมจารีเหล่านั้นก็ลุกขึ้นตกแต่งตะเกียงของตน8 พวกที่โง่นั้นก็พูดกับพวกที่มีปัญญาว่า `ขอแบ่งน้ำมันของท่านให้เราบ้าง เพราะตะเกียงของเราดับอยู่'9 พวกที่มีปัญญาจึงตอบว่า `ทำอย่างนั้นไม่ได้ เกรงว่าน้ำมันจะไม่พอสำหรับเราและเจ้า จงไปหาคนขาย ซื้อสำหรับตัวเองจะดีกว่า'10 เมื่อพวกเธอกำลังไปซื้อนั้นเจ้าบ่าวก็มาถึง ผู้ที่พร้อมอยู่แล้วก็ได้เข้าไปกับท่านในพิธีสมรสนั้น แล้วประตูก็ปิด11 ภายหลังหญิงพรหมจารีอีกพวกหนึ่งก็มาร้องว่า `ท่านเจ้าข้าๆ ขอเปิดให้ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายด้วย'12 ฝ่ายท่านตอบว่า `เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า เราไม่รู้จักท่าน'13 เหตุฉะนั้นจงเฝ้าระวังอยู่ เพราะท่านทั้งหลายไม่รู้กำหนดวันหรือโมงที่บุตรมนุษย์จะเสด็จมา14 อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์ยังเปรียบเหมือนชายผู้หนึ่งจะออกเดินทางไปยังเมืองไกล จึงเรียกพวกผู้รับใช้ของตนมา และฝากทรัพย์สมบัติของเขาไว้15 คนหนึ่งท่านให้ห้าตะลันต์ คนหนึ่งสองตะลันต์ และอีกคนหนึ่งตะลันต์เดียว ตามความสามารถของแต่ละคน แล้วท่านก็ออกเดินทางทันที16 คนที่ได้รับห้าตะลันต์นั้นก็เอาเงินนั้นไปค้าขาย ได้กำไรมาอีกห้าตะลันต์17 คนที่ได้รับสองตะลันต์นั้นก็ได้กำไรอีกสองตะลันต์เหมือนกัน18 แต่คนที่ได้รับตะลันต์เดียวได้ขุดหลุมซ่อนเงินของนายไว้19 ครั้นอยู่มาช้านาน นายจึงมาคิดบัญชีกับผู้รับใช้เหล่านั้น20 คนที่ได้รับห้าตะลันต์ก็เอาเงินกำไรอีกห้าตะลันต์มาชี้แจงว่า `นายเจ้าข้า ท่านได้มอบเงินห้าตะลันต์ไว้กับข้าพเจ้า ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าได้กำไรมาอีกห้าตะลันต์'21 นายจึงตอบเขาว่า `ดีแล้ว เจ้าเป็นผู้รับใช้ดีและสัตย์ซื่อ เจ้าสัตย์ซื่อในของเล็กน้อย เราจะตั้งเจ้าให้ดูแลของมาก เจ้าจงปรีดีร่วมสุขกับนายของเจ้าเถิด'22 คนที่ได้รับสองตะลันต์มาชี้แจงด้วยว่า `นายเจ้าข้า ท่านได้มอบเงินสองตะลันต์ไว้กับข้าพเจ้า ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าได้กำไรมาอีกสองตะลันต์'23 นายจึงตอบเขาว่า `ดีแล้ว เจ้าเป็นผู้รับใช้ดีและสัตย์ซื่อ เจ้าสัตย์ซื่อในของเล็กน้อย เราจะตั้งเจ้าให้ดูแลของมาก เจ้าจงปรีดีร่วมสุขกับนายของเจ้าเถิด'24 ฝ่ายคนที่ได้รับตะลันต์เดียวมาชี้แจงว่า `นายเจ้าข้า ข้าพเจ้ารู้จักท่านว่าท่านเป็นคนใจแข็ง เกี่ยวผลที่ท่านมิได้หว่าน เก็บส่ำสมที่ท่านมิได้โปรย25 ข้าพเจ้ากลัวจึงเอาเงินตะลันต์ของท่านไปซ่อนไว้ใต้ดิน ดูเถิด นี่แหละเงินของท่าน'26 นายจึงตอบเขาว่า `เจ้าผู้รับใช้ชั่วช้าและเกียจคร้าน เจ้าก็รู้อยู่ว่าเราเกี่ยวที่เรามิได้หว่าน เก็บส่ำสมที่เรามิได้โปรย27 เหตุฉะนั้น เจ้าควรเอาเงินของเราไปฝากไว้ที่ธนาคาร เมื่อเรามาจะได้รับเงินของเราทั้งดอกเบี้ยด้วย28 เพราะฉะนั้น จงเอาเงินตะลันต์เดียวนั้นจากเขาไปให้คนที่มีสิบตะลันต์29 ด้วยว่าทุกคนที่มีอยู่แล้ว จะเพิ่มเติมให้แก่ผู้นั้นจนมีเหลือเฟือ แต่ผู้ที่ไม่มี แม้ว่าซึ่งเขามีอยู่ก็จะต้องเอาไปจากเขา30 จงเอาเจ้าผู้รับใช้ที่ไร้ประโยชน์นี้ไปทิ้งเสียที่มืดภายนอก ซึ่งที่นั่นจะมีการร้องไห้ขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟัน'31 เมื่อบุตรมนุษย์จะเสด็จมาในสง่าราศีของพระองค์พร้อมกับเหล่าทูตสวรรค์อันบริสุทธิ์ทั้งปวง เมื่อนั้นพระองค์จะประทับบนพระที่นั่งอันรุ่งเรืองของพระองค์32 บรรดาประชาชาติต่างๆจะประชุมพร้อมกันต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ และพระองค์จะทรงแยกมนุษย์ทั้งหลายโดยแยกพวกหนึ่งออกจากอีกพวกหนึ่ง เหมือนอย่างผู้เลี้ยงแกะแยกแกะออกจากแพะ33 และพระองค์จะทรงจัดฝูงแกะให้อยู่เบื้องขวาพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ แต่ฝูงแพะนั้นจะทรงจัดให้อยู่เบื้องซ้าย34 ขณะนั้น พระมหากษัตริย์จะตรัสแก่บรรดาผู้ที่อยู่เบื้องขวาพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ว่า `ท่านทั้งหลายที่ได้รับพระพรจากพระบิดาของเรา จงมารับเอาราชอาณาจักรซึ่งได้ตระเตรียมไว้สำหรับท่านทั้งหลายตั้งแต่แรกสร้างโลกเป็นมรดก35 เพราะว่าเมื่อเราหิว ท่านทั้งหลายก็ได้จัดหาให้เรากิน เรากระหายน้ำ ท่านก็ให้เราดื่ม เราเป็นแขกแปลกหน้า ท่านก็ได้ต้อนรับเราไว้36 เราเปลือยกาย ท่านก็ได้ให้เสื้อผ้าเรานุ่งห่ม เมื่อเราเจ็บป่วย ท่านก็ได้มาเยี่ยมเรา เมื่อเราต้องจำอยู่ในคุก ท่านก็ได้มาเยี่ยมเรา'37 เวลานั้นบรรดาผู้ชอบธรรมจะกราบทูลพระองค์ว่า `พระองค์เจ้าข้า ที่ข้าพระองค์เห็นพระองค์ทรงหิว และได้จัดมาถวายแด่พระองค์แต่เมื่อไร หรือทรงกระหายน้ำ และได้ถวายให้พระองค์ดื่มแต่เมื่อไร38 ที่ข้าพระองค์ได้เห็นพระองค์ทรงเป็นแขกแปลกหน้า และได้ต้อนรับพระองค์ไว้แต่เมื่อไร หรือเปลือยพระกาย และได้สวมฉลองพระองค์ให้แต่เมื่อไร39 ที่ข้าพระองค์เห็นพระองค์ประชวรหรือต้องจำอยู่ในคุก และได้มาเฝ้าพระองค์นั้นแต่เมื่อไร'40 แล้วพระมหากษัตริย์จะตรัสตอบเขาว่า `เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ซึ่งท่านได้กระทำแก่คนใดคนหนึ่งในพวกพี่น้องของเรานี้ถึงแม้จะต่ำต้อยเพียงไร ก็เหมือนได้กระทำแก่เราด้วย'41 แล้วพระองค์จะตรัสกับบรรดาผู้ที่อยู่เบื้องซ้ายพระหัตถ์ด้วยว่า `ท่านทั้งหลาย ผู้ต้องสาปแช่ง จงถอยไปจากเราเข้าไปอยู่ในไฟซึ่งไหม้อยู่เป็นนิตย์ ซึ่งเตรียมไว้สำหรับพญามารและสมุนของมันนั้น42 เพราะว่าเมื่อเราหิว ท่านก็มิได้ให้เรากิน เรากระหายน้ำ ท่านก็มิได้ให้เราดื่ม43 เราเป็นแขกแปลกหน้า ท่านก็ไม่ได้ต้อนรับเราไว้ เราเปลือยกาย ท่านก็ไม่ได้ให้เสื้อผ้าเรานุ่งห่ม เราเจ็บป่วยและต้องจำอยู่ในคุก ท่านไม่ได้เยี่ยมเรา'44 เขาทั้งหลายจะทูลพระองค์ด้วยว่า `พระองค์เจ้าข้า ที่ข้าพระองค์ได้เห็นพระองค์ทรงหิวหรือทรงกระหายน้ำ หรือทรงเป็นแขกแปลกหน้าหรือเปลือยพระกาย หรือประชวร หรือต้องจำอยู่ในคุก และข้าพระองค์มิได้ปรนนิบัติพระองค์นั้นแต่เมื่อไร'45 เมื่อนั้นพระองค์จะตรัสตอบเขาว่า `เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ซึ่งท่านมิได้กระทำแก่ผู้ต่ำต้อยที่สุดสักคนหนึ่งในพวกนี้ ก็เหมือนท่านมิได้กระทำแก่เรา'46 และพวกเหล่านี้จะต้องออกไปรับโทษอยู่เป็นนิตย์ แต่ผู้ชอบธรรมจะเข้าสู่ชีวิตนิรันดร์"

Matthew 25

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.2 And five of them were foolish, and five were wise.3 For the foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them:4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.5 Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.6 But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him.7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out.9 But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.10 And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut.11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.13 Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.

14 For it is as when a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey.16 Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents.17 In like manner he also that received the two gained other two.18 But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.19 Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them.20 And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents.21 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.22 And he also that received the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents.23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.24 And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter;25 and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own.26 But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter;27 thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest.28 Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents.29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away.30 And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

31 But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory:32 and before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats;33 and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:35 for I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;36 naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or athirst, and gave thee drink?38 And when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?39 And when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me.41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels:42 for I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink;43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.44 Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me.46 And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.
