Matteus 28

Jesus uppstår från de döda

1 Tidigt på söndagsmorgonen, dagen efter vilodagen, gick Maria från Magdala och den andra Maria i gryningen ut för att titta på graven.2 Då blev det plötsligt en våldsam jordbävning, för en Herrens ängel steg ner från himlen och rullade undan stenen och satte sig på den.3 Hans ansikte lyste som blixten, och hans kläder var vita som snö.

4 Och när vakterna fick syn på honom blev de så skräckslagna att de föll till marken och låg där som döda.
5 Men ängeln talade till kvinnorna och sa: "Var inte rädda! Jag vet att ni söker efter Jesus, han som avrättades på ett kors.6 Men han är inte här. Han har blivit levande igen, precis som han sa. Kom och se var hans kropp låg.

7 Skynda er sedan att berätta för hans efterföljare att han har uppstått från de döda, och att han går före dem till Galileen för att träffa dem där. Detta är mitt budskap."

Jesus visar sig för några kvinnor

8 Kvinnorna lämnade genast graven, uppskrämda men samtidigt glada, och sprang för att berätta för Jesus efterföljare vad ängeln hade sagt.

9 Men då kom plötsligt Jesus emot dem och hälsade på dem. Och de gick fram till honom och grep om hans fötter och tillbad honom.

10 Men Jesus sa till dem: "Var inte rädda! Gå och säg till mina bröder att de ska ge sig av till Galileen. Där ska de få se mig."

Vakterna vid graven mutas

11 Medan kvinnorna var på väg från graven, sprang några av de vakter som stått där till översteprästerna och berättade vad som hade hänt.12 Översteprästerna diskuterade då saken med folkets ledare, och gav sedan vakterna en stor summa pengar13 och sa till dem: "Säg att Jesus efterföljare kom mitt i natten och stal kroppen medan ni sov.

14 Om landshövdingen får höra om det, så ska vi ta hand om honom. Ni behöver inte oroa er."

15 Soldaterna tog därför pengarna och gjorde som man sagt till dem. Och snart spreds detta rykte bland judarna, som tror på det än idag.

Jesus befaller sina efterföljare att sprida budskapet om honom i hela världen

16 Jesus elva närmaste efterföljare gick sedan till det berg i Galileen där Jesus hade sagt att de skulle träffa honom.

17 Och när de såg honom tillbad de honom, men några tvivlade fortfarande.
18 Då gick Jesus fram till dem och sa: "Jag har fått all makt i himlen och på jorden.19 Gå därför ut till alla folk och gör dem till mina efterföljare. Döp dem in i gemenskapen med Fadern och Sonen och Guds heliga Ande,

20 och lär dem att leva på det sätt som jag har undervisat er om. Och kom ihåg att jag alltid är med er, ända till tidens slut."

Matthew 28

The Resurrection

1 Now after the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.2 Suddenly there was a severe earthquake, for an angel of the Lordt descending from heaven came and rolled away the stone and sat on it.3 Hist appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.4 Thet guards were shaken and became like dead men because they were so afraid of him.5 But the angel saidt to the women, “Do not be afraid; I knowt that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.s6 He is not here, for he has been raised,t just as he said. Come and see the place where hes was lying.7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead. Het is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.’ Listen, I have told you!”8 Sot they left the tomb quickly, with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.9 Butt Jesus met them, saying, “Greetings!” Theyt came to him, held on to his feet and worshiped him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. They will see me there.”

The Guards’ Report

11 Whilet they were going, somet of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened.12 Aftert they had assembled with the elders and formed a plan, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,13 telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came at night and stole his bodyt while we were asleep.’14 Ift this matter is heard before the governor,t we will satisfy hims and keep you out of trouble.”t

15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story is told among the Jews to this day.s

The Great Commission

16 Sot the eleven disciples went to Galilee to the mountain Jesus had designated.17 Whent they saw him, they worshiped him,t but some doubted.t18 Then Jesus came up and said to them,t “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19 Therefore got and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,s

20 teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember,t I am with yous always, to the end of the age.”s
