Matteus 28

Jesus står opp fra graven

1 Etter sabbaten, da det lysnet mot første dag i uken, kom Maria Magdalena og den andre Maria for å se til graven. s2 Og se, det ble et stort jordskjelv. For en Herrens engel steg ned fra himmelen, gikk fram og rullet steinen til side og satte seg på den. 3 Han var som lyn å se til, og klærne hans var hvite som snø. s4 De som holdt vakt, skalv av redsel for ham, og de ble som døde. 5 Men engelen tok til orde og sa til kvinnene: Frykt ikke! Jeg vet at dere søker Jesus, den korsfestede. s6 Han er ikke her, han er blitt reist opp, slik som han sa. Kom og se stedet hvor han lå! s7 Skynd dere nå av sted og si til disiplene hans: Han er reist opp fra de døde. Og se, han går i forveien for dere til Galilea, der skal dere se ham. Se, jeg har sagt dere dette! s8 De skyndte seg da bort fra graven med frykt og stor glede. De løp av sted for å fortelle det til disiplene hans.

9 Og se, Jesus kom i møte med dem, og sa: Vær hilset! De gikk da fram og omfavnet føttene hans og tilba ham. 10 Da sier Jesus til dem: Frykt ikke! Gå og si til mine brødre at de skal dra til Galilea. Der skal de se meg. s

11 Mens de ennå var på veien, se, da kom noen av vaktstyrken inn til byen og meldte fra til yppersteprestene om alt som var skjedd. 12 Da kom disse sammen med de eldste til rådslagning, og de ga soldatene rikelig med penger 13 og sa: Dere skal si: Disiplene hans kom om natten og stjal ham mens vi sov. s14 Og skulle det komme landshøvdingen for øre, skal vi tale vel med ham så dere kan være trygge. 15 De tok imot pengene og gjorde som de fikk beskjed om. Og dette ryktet ble spredt blant jødene og har holdt seg til denne dag.

Misjonsbefalingen

16 Men de elleve disiplene dro til Galilea, til fjellet hvor Jesus hadde satt dem stevne. s17 Og da de fikk se ham, falt de ned og tilba ham. Men noen tvilte. s18 Og Jesus trådte fram, talte til dem og sa: Meg er gitt all makt i himmel og på jord! ss

19 Gå derfor ut og gjør alle folkeslag til disipler, idet dere døper dem til Faderens og Sønnens og Den Hellige Ånds navn, s20 og lærer dem å holde alt det jeg har befalt dere. Og se, jeg er med dere alle dager inntil verdens ende! s

Matthew 28

The Resurrection

1 Now after the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.2 Suddenly there was a severe earthquake, for an angel of the Lordt descending from heaven came and rolled away the stone and sat on it.3 Hist appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.4 Thet guards were shaken and became like dead men because they were so afraid of him.5 But the angel saidt to the women, “Do not be afraid; I knowt that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.s6 He is not here, for he has been raised,t just as he said. Come and see the place where hes was lying.7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead. Het is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.’ Listen, I have told you!”8 Sot they left the tomb quickly, with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.9 Butt Jesus met them, saying, “Greetings!” Theyt came to him, held on to his feet and worshiped him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. They will see me there.”

The Guards’ Report

11 Whilet they were going, somet of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened.12 Aftert they had assembled with the elders and formed a plan, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,13 telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came at night and stole his bodyt while we were asleep.’14 Ift this matter is heard before the governor,t we will satisfy hims and keep you out of trouble.”t

15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story is told among the Jews to this day.s

The Great Commission

16 Sot the eleven disciples went to Galilee to the mountain Jesus had designated.17 Whent they saw him, they worshiped him,t but some doubted.t18 Then Jesus came up and said to them,t “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19 Therefore got and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,s

20 teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember,t I am with yous always, to the end of the age.”s
